My Life Is The Worst
The air was damp and still. Not a single breeze on this seemingly hot as fuck evening in the middle
of August. I close my eyes as I continue down the sidewalk out of the small neighborhood of shitty
apartments, most of which that are left to rot. Not very many people live here, which is probably my
favorite part of this place. No one yelling at the other from their balcony, cursing while a million
little children run about getting bullied and thrown to the ground. It's so quiet. So quiet and peaceful,
it's hard to imagine that town is right around the corner. It's as if even the outside world's sound had
abandoned this place. 5th street is quite the ways down, so I was left to my own devices. I would
love to say that this is my down time. My time to just think and reflect and all of that, but no.
Reflecting on my life is the worst. It makes me cringe to just think about thinking. I'll remember the
worst crap that I do. Like this one time, back when I was just about, eh, 15? I had this awful just
boost of testosterone that made me just want to punch everything. I was angry at absolutely nothing.
I was pacing the house left and right, stomping up a storm, waking Todd up. One does not, and I
repeat not, wake up Todd O. Archibald at 6am in the morning. Actually, you don't wake up and
Doyle at 6am in the morning, regardless of the reasoning. The world could be crumbling at your feet
and they will always be pissed off at you. So, the guy gives me this crooked glare,

How Can Kick Ass With Progress?
Jeremy, You really think I could be content and settling answering a phone at a desk 40 hours a
week again? I like a challenge and problems, so I can kick ass with progress. Perhaps if I was
president of a college, CEO, Administrator or consulting, writing an article/book/movie from home
while looking at you eating strawberries naked with chocolate fondu, "Jeremy, I hope all that fat
goes right to my cake". I'm going to make you feel as alive as Jennette down the road did me,
everyday of my life, "you ok!?"..."I do have numbing cream!"...."No it makes me feel alive, do it

I can take you to get... well you don 't need her, since you don 't even have arm hair, ill love my cake
untamed and you wild. I guess I am comparing fisting to once we collide. I know no matter what we
will always make each other feel full. I will never take a nap or look away, while I am making you
feel the most full you 've ever felt, I 'd enjoy it as much as you. Even if you are having mind
blowing orgasms that you don 't think could get any better, with me being all the way in, I 'll always
want to go deeper to find the exact spot that will makes you moan and feel the fullest and loudest
and own it, never forgetting the path to get there. I always want to go to the source instead of
scratching the roof (hypothetically) while sucking on your lips and neck. I already know we will fit
perfectly together in every aspect, comfortably. Why? Well be home finally, I know we were made
for each other, in and out. In your perspective, if you catch this tornado, do you really think its going
to disappear, no. I heard the center is hard to breathe in also. The odd thing is I know even from
experience they can demolish one house and the one next to it won 't have a scratch. You have to
wonder how that is possible. Cookie cutters don 't stand a chance usually (quality built over
quantity...that's a simple fix), just from pictures. I guess the point being I might be a tornado, but you
steer it and always will. Why? Refer to all of the past

Lady Macbeth Character Analysis
it's quite a image, Ophelia, topped in flowers, singing to herself because the current pulls her
underneath the water. It's particularly quite a image once you notice that Gertrude stood there and
watched the entire factor.
Did she yell, "Guards! facilitate her!"?
Did she yell, "Be careful, don't kill yourself!"?
Why did she follow Ophelia thereto remote spot? perhaps she simply needed to speak, far from the
castle, far from the dudes in body armor with swords. perhaps she pushed Ophelia within the water,
or surprised her, inflicting her to fall. perhaps her whole description of the event is associate in an
elaborate way elaborated lie. perhaps she simply watched, and thought, "She's higher off" or "That
ought to be ME." perhaps she thought, "What might I do associateyway?" perhaps she was jealous
of Ophelia of achieving an escape that she couldn't.
Working back from this moment, you have got to form a call concerning Gertrude. Did she aggroup
with Roman Emperor to murder the king? is that this a love story? Did she "Lady Macbeth" that shit
and set the entire unhappy plot in motion? Is she oblivious? Is she numb from grief and trauma? Is
she maintaining plausible deniability to make sure her own survival and perhaps discount for her
son's life? Instigator, victim, clever survivor–the text leaves space for all of those prospects,
however if you're swing on Hamlet, you have got to make a decision. you have got to visualize her

Essay about Hellfire and Damnation
Hellfire and Damnation Looking back on my childhood, I have many memories shrouded in fear
and self–loathing. I was raised in the Baptist church. My mother and grandmother made sure that I
attended church every Sunday morning. My grandmother was from the mid–west. She carried her
strict Bible belt background with her as she traveled west with my grandfather. The many lessons I
learned from my grandmother and the minister at our church played a big part in how I began to see
the world and my place in it.
It would seem, looking back now, that the whole basis for my teachings during those early years was
fear. I had the most intense fear of going to Hell. The only thing one had to know about Hell was
that it was the place where ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We were rotten to the core. We did not deserve God's love or anyone's love, yet God loved us
anyway. That made God a really great guy.
My interpretation of this particular sermon was that I was a horrible person not worthy of love. I
was a sinner and I was going to Hell. I would cry myself to sleep at night because I was so sure that
I would be one of those lost souls for all of eternity. The minister talked of redemption. All I had to
do to be saved and get into heaven was confess my sins and ask for forgiveness.
I was sure, however, that I had far too many sins to be forgiven; besides, I wasn't really sorry for
most of my "sins." I could not feel bad about questioning my parents' and the church's authority.
Most of the time it seemed that they contradicted themselves or just didn't make any sense at all. I
had a very hard time digesting the teachings of the church that included both a God who would
demand killing and sacrifice and the same God who would love and protect his children. Due to the
teachings I received and with so many people being in agreement, I just figured they must be right
on some level, which made me the odd man out and the one destined to pay with my soul.
All I had to do was to take a look at the Ten Commandments to see that I was not doing so well in
the eyes of the Lord. "You must not Murder," I hadn't done that. "You must not commit adultery." I
didn't even know what that meant. "You must not

Difference Between Family Dinners And Dinner Dinners
Ethnography is a research method that includes cultures and customs. The way people interact with
one another varies from person to person or group to group. The interactions between people tell a
great deal about their feelings towards a person. Body language, tone of voice, vocabulary, and the
way a person carries themself reveals much deeper information than just when words are
exchanged. For this project I am going to research the difference between family dinners and
roommate dinners (home away from home). Many people who attend college have heard the phrase
or expression "a home away from home" or some variation of this. This phrase was researched
through using an actual family and a "family" of four teenage girls who currently live together off–
campus at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. The dynamic of two different "families" led
to several different findings throughout the ethnographic research. There was an expected power
dynamic between the actual family, but a very unexpected power dynamic between the four
roommates. The concept of power was then further researched throughout this project to draw
conclusions about men, women, rapport–talk, and report–talk.
This ethnography research was proposed based off readings from the authors of Tannen and
Kiesling. Tannen discusses the differences between the way men and women communicate with one
another. During this ethnography project, there was one situation recorded with a male present and
one without. Men

Louis gasped, "Excuse me Za–"
"Louis! Code three! Code three!" Louis stood up abruptly, stumbling over the diner chair and
ignoring Zayn.
"Code three, shit, shit. Perrie!" he yelled, straightening out his apron and flipping his fringe, "Perrie!
Perrie! Quick how do I look?"
"Code three? Whats code three?" Liam and Zayn mumbled at the same time, giving each other
confused looks as Perrie ran past them and into the back room where a distressed Louis was fixing
his hair and straightening his outfit.
"Hair looks good, eyes look good, oh wait–" Perrie licked her thumb, wiping the sauce off that was
crusted in the corner of his mouth, "alright teeth check."
Louis smiled, flashing his teeth, murmuring through them, "Hurry! Hurry!"
"Okay, okay god Louis, do the turn around."
Louis quickly spun around, shaking his hands. "Am I good? How does the bum look?"

It Was A Dark And Monotonous Night
It was a dark and monotonous night. The efflorescence of humanity converged into a ballistic
modernism, lingering on mental pinions, the hipsters, proto–, post– and pseudo–, spiraling
perniciously downward in united mania. Mania of such magnificent pulchritude and beauty,
melding, intertwining. all concentrated in a singular point where the energies thereof pulled
magnetically the straggling no–knowers into it's orifice, colorful deceit and beautiful delirium. The
postmodern was nothing. Everything was postmodern. Everything was nothing. It was a steel and
silk evening: not quite brisk enough to be cold, but lacking the light to be idyllic and warm. Yasiin
remembered many things, the small things, good things, bad things, wrong things, right things;
things that were at once normal, before turning into something entirely out of his league. His scars
didn't even have time to heal anymore, it was one murder to the next. He tightened his trench coat
tighter around his slim body, trying his hardest to shield himself from the nipping wind. He wore a
charcoal Brioni three–button suit, that felt like a calfskin glove on his body. It wasn't a work suit
usually, but he felt the need today. His eggshell Egyptian cotton dress shirt, by Donna Karan, had
white gold cuff links in the shape of hammers from Tiffany's, and the tie was Versace. His half–
closed eyes had a look of vacancy or stagnancy, which might as well have been one and the same.
Only his mouth, set determinedly and

Analysis Of The Catcher In The Rye
Caught in the Classroom
"I'm not going to tell you my whole goddam autobiography or anything. I'll just tell you about this
madman stuff that happened to me around last Christmas" (Salinger 3). Published in the 1950s, The
Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger depicts a three–day journey of Holden Caulfield as he tries to
find out more about himself. Through his struggle, Holden experiences many obstacles and events
that occur in most teenager's lives, making the book a primary target for banning due to offensive
language, suicidal tendencies, sexual content, violence, and outright negativity (Information).
Though The Catcher in the Rye contains numerous controversial topics, the novel is still relevant
and relatable to teens today, through Holden's depression, vulgar language, and encounters of sexual
discrimination; therefore, the story should remain an option for students to read.
The Catcher in the Rye features a multitude of examples in which Holden is overwhelmingly
suicidal and represents unwanted viewpoints. At one point in the novel, Holden admits, "what I
really felt like though, was committing suicide" (Salinger 116). His pessimistic attitude and outlook
on life can have a negative effect on the reader. "[The book] has been banned on the lighter premises
of using profanities and being sexually explicit/suggestive, while it has also been banned for darker
interpretations of the book, such as being part of a Communist plot, anti–religious, and promotive of

The Banning Of Banning Catcher In The Rye
There are numerous banned books which are removed from shelves due to their controversial
content not only just in America but also around the world. The novel, The Catcher in the Rye,
written by J.D. Salinger is one of the most well–known "censored publications" throughout
American schools. The novel, set in the 1950s, is narrated by a sixteen–year–old boy named Holden
Caulfield. The story begins in a mental hospital where Holden is undergoing treatment. From there,
he tells his account of his expulsion from school and his subsequent lonesome journey throughout
New York, all of which happened leading up to his voluntary admission into the sanitorium. Most of
the novel's adversaries argue that the book should be banned due to its vulgar content including the
constant use of profanity, the apparent thoughts of violence, and the descriptions of sexual activity.
On the contrary, I believe that this novel should not be banned because it brings attention to mental
illness. The most valid argument supporting the banning of The Catcher in the Rye is the abundant
usage of profanity. The novel is composed of a variety of negative language which helps define
Holden's character. Salinger uses multiple words with negative connotations such as: "lousy",
"bastard", "sonuvabitch", and "phony". It is no surprise that "three of the top five words in The
Catcher in the Rye – "goddam", "hell" and "damn" – are curse words..." (Taylor). So, in a "perfect
world" nobody should approve of this

Graduation Speech
I walked over to where me, and Frank sat he was picking at some tape on the desk impatiently.
"Hey." I sat down, he smiled, "Hey Gee!" Frank smiled, "Can 't wait for music!" He said excitedly, I
chuckled. His favorite class was music, which we had after gym. I only have three classes with
Frank, but I have all my classes with Ray. He can be a bitch, but he 's a bitch who 's my best friend.
"Hello class." Mr. No one gives a fuck said, me and Frank gave him that nickname after he gave us
an hour speech about how smoking can kill us, and shit. Me, and Frank just wrote notes on a piece
of paper, and pretended to be taking notes about the lesson he was teaching. 'So wanna skip until 5th
' Mrs. Mayy won 't give a damn? ' 'Sure ' I wrote back. The bell signalled that class was changing,
me, and Frank walked to the guys bathroom, and sat in there until the bell rang again signalling
classes had started. We ran down the left hallway, they didn 't have cameras there, I mean it 's not
like they ever check them anyways, We walked out the door of that hallway, we sat on the bench
like usual. "So wanna go to Starbucks?" Frank chuckled, I nodded quickly. "Okay lets go!" He
grabbed my arm, and pulled me up, I laughed. He let go of my arm, "Ray 's probably freaking out,
and Mikes is probably looking through lockers." I laughed, Frank shrugged, Frank skipped most
classes almost everyday. We walked into the Starbucks, "Hey Alexis, Ashlen!" Ashlen, and Alexis
waved they looked bored.

My Father's Story with Cancer
Losing a chance that will make an impact on your life hurts; especially when it was a favor that
someone had asked of you. My dad used to always ask me to record his story of coming to America
– the story of all his struggles and accomplishments. Planning to do so later in the future, I didn't
think about the time I had left. I thought I would have all the time in the world to do so, and to be
able to hear it through his voice. You don't know how wrong I was to think so.
On September 27, 2013, I received a text message from my older sister that our dad only had two to
three weeks left with us. After battling prostate cancer for about three years – going in and out of the
hospitals, back and forth from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, and having two catheters – the cancer
spread into my dad's liver and lungs. That day, we were picked up after school and went straight to
the St. John's hospital in Maplewood. Learning that day about the short time he had left, everyone
was supposed to spend as much time as we could with him. Therefore, my family registered him for
Hospice, so that he can stay home and still get all the help he needed, whenever he needed it. Not
being able to do so because of school, we had to leave his side.
At school, I was aware that my actions were not exhibiting concern for my dad. I would sit about to
myself, "Am I having too much fun while my dad is at home suffering?" "Will going to my schools
events be too disrespectful towards my family?" Everything at

Death And Death
Slug knocked back his double bourbon and looked at his watch. Death would be here soon, and he
needed one more drink. He threw another five at the dancer attacking the pole in front of him and
thought about his bladder. It was urging him to take a piss. He needed to get up, but those tits were
perfect. How could a man walk away from something like that? He couldn't and that was ok. Death
would understand. Girls like Miss Perfect Tits never paid any attention to guys like him. Why would
they? Old Ricky the Slug wasn't much to look at. But he was flush. He had hit it big at the poker

because this time, Rocco wouldn't be collecting cash.
Slug stood at the sink, washed his hands and waited. Shortly the door swung open and in walked
Rocco, all cocky like his nuts were on wheels. Rocco locked the door behind him. "Well, well, look
who washes his hands after playin with his willy? Your Ma would be so proud." He said. Slug tried
to look surprised and backed up against the wall.
"Hey Rocco, oh shit man, I was about to call you man!"
Rocco reached out with his hairy slab of a hand and pinned Slug against the dirty tile. The smell of

"So I hear you got lucky tonight?"
"Aw, you know, I hit a few good hands, nothin to go ape shit about."

Essay on Louis de Bernieres's Captain Corelli’s Mandolin
Louis de Bernieres's Captain Corelli's Mandolin
Louis de Bernieres uses three principal techniques to portray the effects of war so powerfully in his
book. These techniques are the powerful narrative, strong pictorial language, and black humour.
Above all, the message is conveyed in the narrative, especially when
Louis De Bernieres graphically describes the war's impact on the soldiers who are fighting for their
country. At first, the soldiers are united in their fight against the enemy "you are all young and
strong, overflowing with life, and you are all in this shit together"
– page 38. The mood at the beginning is positive, so much so that the "soldiers grew to love each
other" – page 38. They were excited about being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All their illusions disappeared:
"We fought and froze and died for an empire that has no purpose" – page 151. The war seems to
deaden the soldiers' souls. An example of this is on page 134 "I could think of nothing at all. I was
an automaton without emotion or hope". In the end the soldiers break down totally – they degenerate
into despair and become like animals, as shown on page 232: "Within the space of a few days we
had become skeletons, rooting for food like pigs."
The horror and hostility of the war made the soldiers despair so much that they were happy to die –
"Dear mother, I came into this world in a state of innocence and leave it so utterly wearied that I am
contented to die." This was how they ended up after all the atrocities they had witnessed and
committed. "War is a dirty business. We all have to do terrible things." Mandras almost God like in
his beauty at the beginning, kills an old man; the war seemed to deaden all their feelings and
sympathy. They are left without "emotion or hope".
By describing this degradation of morale and emotions, Louis de
Bernieres powerfully shows the physical and mental effect of war on the soldiers. A good example
of this deterioration is Mandras. Before the war he was physically beautiful, harmonious in the way
he moved, and strong. He had "slim hips...sharp shoulders...a taught stomach" that made him look
powerful and sculpted. However, after the war, he

The Animation : The 3d Animation
When I first started this Anime, I found it extremely weird, starting with how the story unfolds, the
characters and most importantly: the 3D Animation. It was an extremely weird concept to begin
with. I had a hard time enjoying the Anime at first. I saw myself fading in and out. The first 3
episodes were kind of a mess because some details weren't explained yet and I struggled to follow
the Plot.
After ep 3 everything cleared up and I actually enjoyed it to a good extent. I'm not saying it is a
masterpiece. Nooo, god no. It is far away from being one. There are many plot holes where none of
the writers even bothered to fill them up. And yet I highly enjoyed its weird story and slightly above
average CGI.

I have many big problems with this show. First of all, the pacing is unimaginably slow. That's not
the biggest problem because here is this:
Why are they brought to this world? Who brought them there? Who created this world? Why does
nobody give a fuck about their previous worlds? The whole thing is so unrealistic. I mean, yeah,

The History of the Word Damn Essay
The word "damn" has a long and complicated history. How it entered the English language and
answering the questions how, when and why it has come to mean the things it does is difficult to
answer. It can be used to mean condemn or condemn specifically to hall (by God), and can be used
as mild profanity. Tracing the road damn has traveled to become both a religious term and a swear
word shows many interesting features of language and the ways in which language are used.
The word damn entered the English language from the Old French word damne–r during the Middle
English period and first appeared in writing in the early 14th c. (OED s.v. damn). In Latin the word
dampnā–re meant to damage, hurt or condemn, which, with the suffix ... Show more content on

So, if it is not a theological tern, then why does it only appear in religious texts? This could just be a
coincidence since there were a lot of these sort of books around and many of them have survived.
Also, while these texts are about religion and worship, they were written not written for religious
scholars but for common people, and they did not yet need a new set of theological terms in English
because scholarly work was done in Latin with Latin words (Crystal 128). English was the language
of the lower classes since the Norman invasion, but by the time Cursor Mundi was written, the
French aristocracy in England had lost their original ties to France and were beginning to speak
English. These aristocrats still used many French words for prestige, but among the lower classes,
English was seen as the right and natural language and French as the language of oppression and
foreignness (Watson 334). Cursor Mundi tries to be as English as posible, stating to its readers that it
is about "the love of Englis lede, / Englis lede of Engelande" (qtd. in Watson 334) and goes on to the
superiority of English over French. So we can conclude that damn was not a theological term since
the first texts it appeared in, while religious in content, are not theological works, and, in fact, the
exact opposite is true: these

was pretty uneventful. Well actually, I take that back, there is something that is worth mentioning;
during this time is when I started my sobriety stage.
I quit smoking around 2003 and drinking around the same time. Technically speaking the last time I
got hammered (drunk) was in 2004 when I made two stops one in Florida and one in Cali. During
my Florida trip, I went out with my homeboy bar hopping in South Florida. I drank a pint of
Hennessey, about five or six Heinekens, four to 5 shots of Jagermeister and about 4 Coronas. For all
intense of purposes that was fucking alcohol poisoning.
My ass should have been comatose... lol. The Next drunk episode was the Cali trip, the details are
not important. What is important was the self–declaration that I had imposed upon myself. I made a
promise to myself that this would be the last time I would allow myself to be shitfaced (extremely

zombie after that trip...lol. Nevertheless, I was 33 years old, and to be honest with you guys I

Catcher in the Rye Essay: The Importance of Language
The Importance of Language in The Catcher in the Rye J.D. Salinger's The Catcher in the Rye has
captured the spirit of adolescence, dramatizing Holden Caulfield's vulgar language and
melodramatic reactions. Written as the autobiographical account of a fictional teenage prep school
student named Holden Caulfield, The Catcher in the Rye deals with material that is socially
scandalous for the time (Gwynn, 1958). As an emotional, intelligent, and sensitive young man,
Holden puts his inner world to the test through the sexual mores of his peers and elders, the
teachings of his education, and his own emerging sense of self. Throughout the years, the language
of the story has startled readers. Salinger's control of Holden's easy, ... Show more content on

Another colloquialism can be seen in the last two examples. Holden has a habit of ending his
descriptions with tag phrases such as "and all" or "or anything." (Salzman, 1991). Not only does
Holden speak like this in the beginning of the novel, but throughout the book, making this pattern a
part of his character. One could imagine Holden frequently ending his sentences with "and all," and
realize it is a character trait of his, since not all teenagers used that phrase. Therefore, the "and all"
tag to Holden's speech served to make his speech authentic and individual. (Salzman, 1991).
Salinger intentionally used such speech patterns to individualize Holden but also to make him a
believable teenager of the early 1950's. Another example of how Holden's speech helped define his
character is his constant need to confirm his own affirmations, as if even he did not quite believe
himself. These confirmations include phrases such as "...if you want to know the truth," or "...it
really does." Holden repeats the first phrase several times throughout the novel: "I have no wind, if
you want to know the truth," "I'm pacifist, if you want to know the truth," and a variation: "She had
a lot of sex appeal, too, if you really want to know." In each of the above instances, Holden makes a
statement and then feels compelled to clarify that is he is not making it

Nightmares and Memories
It was a dark snowy night, I walked down the cul–de–sac were I grew up. The streetlights flickering
and doors to the houses slightly creak open as I walk pass from the wind. The smell of decay
lingered in the air. Several vehicles covered in snow and dirt fill the street unmoved for years. The
silence makes me uneasy putting my nerves on edge I came here hopefully to find peace away from
the world just for a little bit since the apocalypse, maybe say my condolences to my parents and
childhood friends as I walk pass their houses. "Maybe they survived." I thought to myself. As a
approach closer to my childhood home dead middle of the cul–de–sac I began to hear a feint voice
in the direction of my home. "Leo bring her to me." "That does not sound like my mother." I thought
to myself, I readied my gun and gripped it with my right hand and began my approach getting ready
for what may lay head. I stared at my old home a small brick house with what use to be a red door
but now the paint has faded from the years. The red window shields bent and crooked and the
windows are barricaded with wooden planks. Small patches of dead grass pop out the snow and the
three trees in the front law are absent of leaves. The drive way still had the same red Nissan car only
the back window was busted out. "I guess my mom never made it out her house." I thought to
myself. I lost many people through the years some I even had to put down myself just like a soon to

The At The End Of The Day And I Walked At My Car
The bell rang at the end of the day and I walked to my car. The sight in front of me was horrific.
Penises, penises everywhere, in every color of paint possible. I threw my bag onto the ground and
ran to my poor baby. I grabbed tissues from my pocket and tried to rub off some of the paint, but it
wouldn 't come off. "Hey, rich bitch," my head snapped around and I saw the dreaded Brat Hartford,
three times before this I have bumped into him, once this morning when I took "his spot", another
after first hour when he made fun of Will and I, and lastly at lunch when he grabbed my ass and said

were inviting me in, I mean that is an invitation right?" How could I have forgotten to close the
garage, and the door for that matter, I mean it wouldn 't have been the first time, "fine, so I left the
garage and the door open, whatever. Then again, how do you know where I live?" "Oh, you 're my
neighbor, I live right across the street." Confusion muddled my brain, how did he know that I was
his neighbor? I pulled on my pants as I mulled through all of my thoughts, wondering when I told
him where I lived, "Isabelle, are you okay?" I turned around to look at him,"you didn 't answer my
question." "Oh yeah, I saw you pull into your driveway like five minutes ago." "Okay, creepy that
you were watching me, but whatever." Throughout the conversation I ahd put my pants back on, I
was embarrassed sure, but at least I didn 't show it, "want some food? I was about to make some

Music And Its Effects On Children
Parents also serve as a blockade when it comes to the subject of music. Parents are very cautious
and get very defensive of what their children listen to. Parents block children from hearing the truth
or prevent their child from seeing how an artist expresses themselves, because of a few raunchy
lyrics and profanity? I often listen to music on my iPhone, but since Apple launched its Apple Music
project, my music only plays in the edited or clean version, which is very annoying. I am a huge
Future fan and on his recent album, "Dirty Sprite 2," it's the curse words that really build the song.

sound will judge someone else because they do not like that sound and therefore, it may suck or not

and often use music to fuel their emotions and energy. It is often taken for granted and we just do
not appreciate what the artist does. We typecast music and allow genres to dictate us, so if we hear
something of a different "genre," we may not like it and judge the whole genre because of that one
song. One song or sound does not represent a whole genre of music and will not determine if you
will or will not a single song of that genre. We live in a generation, a society or in other and more

feel in love with. As a collective, we are often stuck in our ways and become base. People are afraid
to try new things and step out their comfort zone. People often do not try to find comfort in other
things or something new and we stick to the routine of our matrix and move to the same beat of that
drum that we love so much.

Probably you know my family or saw on news; my father was working as a drug dealer, and he had
loved milk. Milk... Milk saved my life. It was just ordinary; I got up with a buzz. When I entered the
living room, I saw my mom with that stretch her pilates costume. She was disgusting as hell. You
know pilates, girls do for looking well–such phoniness. After I saw her, I went the Silvio who is
owner of the grocery. Believe me, he is the phoniest person that you can see. He cheats on his wife,
every time that he can. Goddamn bastard. I left the house (I got the ax). When I came back, I heard
racket which was coming from upstairs. Then... then I faced the goddamn stiffs of my family; even
those sons of bitches killed my little brother. Blood coming from his back was flowing like a river. I
was terribly shocked; my life was upside–down. I had not any money, a house to live and a family to
be with them since they killed because of touchy job of my dad. Then I heard the oncoming
footsteps, at that time I got that I was getting in trouble. Only way to live is escaping from that
garbage, but there was one thing that I cannot decide: Where can I go? When I took a step, I faced
with the D.E.A agents who are the murderers of my family. I attempted to run as hard as I can.

The Battle of Adolescence in The Catcher in the Rye by...
Adolescence is stressful and confusing to say the least, and is a time in one's life where one begins
to discover who they are and what they want as they transition into the adult world. In J.D.
Salinger's classic American novel, The Catcher in the Rye, the main character Holden, is a
downhearted teenage boy used by Salinger in order to portray universal themes to the reader
including isolation, loss of innocence, and the phoniness of the adult world. Through Salinger's use
of symbolism, the reader is able to ponder Holden and his struggles as he embarks into adulthood in
order to come to a deeper understanding of the themes Salinger's symbols represent. One of the most
widely recognized symbols of the book is Holden's curiosity about the ducks in Central Park.
Holden longs for answers to his question of where the ducks go in the winter. "The ducks. Do you
know by any chance? I mean does somebody come around in a truck or something and take them
away, or do they fly away by themselves–go south or something? (107). As the ice freezes over the
pond and winter comes, the ducks leave, able to escape the brutal winter and the ice for a more
pleasant, warmer climate to the south. Holden longs to avoid being apart of the adult world that is
engulfed with phoniness, but is unable to understand how to do so. "The fish don't go no place. They
stay right where they are, the fish. Right in the goddamn lake... Their bodies take in nutrition and all,

When he denied my date that morning it took me by surprise. I wasn't trying to be conceded, trust

Even for my 20th birthday, we got matching tattoos. I had half a heart with his name Niall, he had

decided to follow him to the restaurant he went to with that slut. I don't know who she is, or where

Examples Of Adult Life In Catcher In The Rye
Every human actions meets in nature and they find their own characteristic feature in a good or bad
way. Not everyone can say it is a pleasant experiment, but no one can deny that it happened. This
single event is 'growing up'. The transition between childhood innocence and adulthood is long and
confusing, often uncovering questions that cannot be answered. During this time the adult world
seems inviting and free, but only when we become members of a cruel, society can the happy
ignorance of childhood be appreciated and missed. The novel Catcher in the Rye examines how
adult life appears complex and incomprehensible to teenagers on the brink of entering it. Through
the main protagonist Holden Caulfield, J.D. Salinger captures the confusion of a teenager when
faced with the challenge of adapting to an adult society.
Firstly, Holden's first attack to adulthood is to try and avoid it by entering his own world where he is
in control. The 'museum' is a very important place to Holden because it is a place where the normal
'laws' of the world do not exist. The museum serves as his escape from complicated adult life
because unlike reality, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Holden is constantly using crude phrases that would have shocked the original readers of the book.
This is to represent the fact that Holden is trying to merge with the adult world and he assumes that
by using more 'adult' language he can achieve this. The present day Holden refers to most of the
people he met during the time he was in New York as ''Old.'' This helps him to disassociate himself
with the past and shows that he feels it is a different part of his life. So although during his 'journey
of discovery' Holden appears not to have emotionally progressed towards adulthood, clearly he has
now evolved and grown up, be it just a

Exploring The Controversy Of Bitch
Exploring the Controversy: Bitch Words that we utilize in our everyday vocabulary have irrevocably
over the years altered in their meanings. The etymology of the word "bitch" is a prime example of a
word that has become difficult to categorize into a single definition. The word itself has been
adapted, reinvented, and created into a form of endearment (akin to best friends). One can be called
a bad bitch or a basic bitch, even a ratchet bitch has become socially acceptable. Being called a bitch
not too long ago was immediately perceived as an insult, but being a bitch can signify independency
and strength. Going back to when bitch was equivalent to a female dog, the shift in the meaning of
the word can be traced to our own cultural guidelines. The implications and intricacies of bitch have
evolved, and it's no longer clear what the word indicates anymore. To explore the term bitch and its
alternative uses, we'd have to go back to the basics. Before we had "Free the nipple" movement and
the song "Girls who run the world" by Beyoncé females held no societal status in America. It was
men; indeed, who were superior and who also established the definition for bitch. A bitch in the
1500's referred to your common house pet, a female dog. Not long after the Oxford English
Dictionary declared it's meaning, Geoffrey Hughes coined the idea that female dogs were an
allusion to the promiscuity and sexuality of females because female dogs have heaps of puppies.

Reflective Essay About A Math Teacher
"DINNNNNNNNNNNNNNG!!!" The bell rings signaling the end of a school day, but it wasn't a
Friday, or a half–day, or not even a Thursday, it was a Monday. I was convinced that my day would
end, but I hear my name and a very depressing comment following it. "Sujeet, can you wait for a
minute, I need to talk to you." Damn it, getting that comment from my math teacher isn't very good,
especially knowing the fact that he is very easy going, and is one of the most care–free teachers I
know. I walk over to him knowing that whatever he is going to say, it wasn't going to be good. I see
him going to his desk and reaching for his Midlo Morning pass pad and starting scribbling on it. "I
need you to come in for midlo morning tomorrow Sujeet, I need to catch you up on all the work you
missed. I also need you to work even more to catch yourself up."
I transferred into his class because the class I was taking before was too easy, and I felt like I was
not using my potential to the fullest. I regretted that choice, this class added more stress to my
schedule because my new math teacher tried to catch me up in the worst possible way, making me
learn a unit of probability and another completely different unit of probability at the same time. If
you didn't know, that crap confused me like hell, and I was completely lost. He gave me at least 10
pages of math work and expected me to finish it by the next day in midlo morning, and I was filled
with a mix of anger, nervousness, and sadness.

"Mommm...that 's inappropriate for work. Why are you dressing like a slut?" John questionably
asks.
"Sweetie, sometimes a woman likes to show off their bodies. I

The Book of Love
Andrew's eyes flicked up, catching sight of her face. He swallowed, forcing his heart to not fully
pound straight out of his chest. He shoved his chair back, kicking off with his feet. Standing up his
eyes, a bright blue caught between a clear gray based blue and a weirdly vibrant electric blue, found
her face. And that wall, that steel strong wall he'd built around his heart and emotion came tumbling
down. Crashing in a haze of love, hate and anger. Years of work, undone in seconds just by looking
at her. Andrew's eyes found her nut brown ones. "Olivia." he spoke, his voice thick on his tongue.
Her face said it all. Regret for coming her. Pain from seeing him again. And something else even his
years of profiler training couldn't seem to place, a first for the FBI Agent. He paused to eye the
bullpen before he lead her into the hallway of the building. Tan walls stared back at him as he
crossed his arms ove his chest. "It's been what, eleven years since you left me?" He spoke, his voice
cold. Her eyes blinked, her head titled to the side. "Eleven and a half almost to the date. Techcally
two since we last spoke though Andrew. Listen Andy we need to ta–" he cut her off with a hard
stare. "I'm not your Andy anymore Olivia. It's Andrew or Agent Mason when I'm at work––which I
am. Listen I have a few minutes before my boss blows up at me for taking a break. What it is?" he
spoke, that tinge of his old accent there. Hidden, softer then normal but it was still there. "I need

You are the Father of My Baby
Finn couldn't stop the smirk on his face as he exited class. Rachel made him happy, but Quinn was
something else. Phone still in hand he entered the girls restroom hoping Quinn would be the only
one in there. Quinn was leaning on the restroom stall, waiting for him.
"I really need to talk to you." Her eyes were red, and she didn't have the spark in her eyes she
usually had.
Rachel was in the stall eavesdropping until she heard a familiar voice.
"Oh, hey, what's wrong? Is it the baby? Are you having it now?"
"No, you idiot. The only thing that's wrong is you. Look what I got in the mail yesterday. It's a
doctor's bill, Finn. Thank God I was quick enough to take it before my parents got it. I don't have the
money to pay this! If I ask my parents they would know something is up." Quinn had her bitch
smirk on as she handed Finn an envelope.
"Do you expect me to pay this? I don't even have a job–"
"Yes you're supposed to pay it. YOU'RE THE FATHER! You're unbelievable! I knew you wouldn't
give a fuck about this!" Quinn yelled loud enough you'd be able to hear it from down the hall.
Rachel froze. Maybe she's hearing things. She kept thinking she was dreaming. Rachel sobbed
quietly in the stall. She's tiny so they couldn't see her legs. She wanted to scream at Finn, Quinn,
everybody. Yelling wouldn't help anything, especially if Finn and Quinn were literally 3 feet away. It
all suddenly started to make sense to her. Finn was going to tell her something. "Maybe this was it",

Essay on Holden in The Catcher in The Rye
The author has put in plenty of themes, messages, ideas, issues, and motifs. The character, Holden
Caulfield is alienated from society, is experiencing the painfulness of growing up, thinks that the
adult world is full of phoniness, and is sick of hearing about the American Dream from his teachers.
JD Salinger has created a book that has raised plenty of questions and controversy towards the
readers. The Catcher in the Rye shows how a teenage mind works. JD Salinger has used a stream of
consciousness writing style where the character (Holden Caulfield) talks in first person as he
presents his thoughts and feelings to the readers. The setting has taken place in the early fifties and
the book uses a lot of profane words. The New York ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That's all I do all day. I'd just be the catcher in the rye and all. I know it's crazy, but that's the only
thing I'd really like to be."
As Holden enters the Museum of National History, his fears change into difficulty. He likes
everything easily understandable. He is afraid to admit fear but only admits it in a few instances
such as "Sex is something I just don't understand. I swear to God I don't." Instead of facing
adulthood, he traps himself in his own little childhood world thinking about his dream job, catching
little kids that are about to fall off a rye cliff.
Caulfield's loneliness is probably one of the main motifs all throughout the novel. "I felt like
jumping out the window. I probably would've, too, if I'd been sure somebody'd cover me up as soon
as I landed. I didn't want a bunch of stupid rubbernecks looking at me when I was all gory." As he
narrates his time in New York, it shows the readers how he looks for someone that understands him.
In some ways, it shows that it is his source of pain and his security. Relationships, intimacy, and
sexuality are some of the things he fears the most from the adult world. "Sex is something I really
don't understand too hot. You never know where the hell you are. I keep making up these sex rules
for myself, and then I break them right away. Last year I

My Life Is The Worst

  • 1. My Life Is The Worst The air was damp and still. Not a single breeze on this seemingly hot as fuck evening in the middle of August. I close my eyes as I continue down the sidewalk out of the small neighborhood of shitty apartments, most of which that are left to rot. Not very many people live here, which is probably my favorite part of this place. No one yelling at the other from their balcony, cursing while a million little children run about getting bullied and thrown to the ground. It's so quiet. So quiet and peaceful, it's hard to imagine that town is right around the corner. It's as if even the outside world's sound had abandoned this place. 5th street is quite the ways down, so I was left to my own devices. I would love to say that this is my down time. My time to just think and reflect and all of that, but no. Reflecting on my life is the worst. It makes me cringe to just think about thinking. I'll remember the worst crap that I do. Like this one time, back when I was just about, eh, 15? I had this awful just boost of testosterone that made me just want to punch everything. I was angry at absolutely nothing. I was pacing the house left and right, stomping up a storm, waking Todd up. One does not, and I repeat not, wake up Todd O. Archibald at 6am in the morning. Actually, you don't wake up and Doyle at 6am in the morning, regardless of the reasoning. The world could be crumbling at your feet and they will always be pissed off at you. So, the guy gives me this crooked glare, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I like a challenge and problems, so I can kick ass with progress. Perhaps if I was president of a college, CEO, Administrator or consulting, writing an article/book/movie from home while looking at you eating strawberries naked with chocolate fondu, "Jeremy, I hope all that fat goes right to my cake". I'm going to make you feel as alive as Jennette down the road did me, everyday of my life, "you ok!?"..."I do have numbing cream!"...."No it makes me feel alive, do it again HARDER"...25 minutes later, "I 'm almost done!!".."no worries my pain tolerance is non existent now, take your time...I have no plans". I guess I am comparing fisting to once we collide. I know no matter what we will always make each other feel full. I will never take a nap or look away, while I am making you feel the most full you 've ever felt, I 'd enjoy it as much as you. Even if you are having mind blowing orgasms that you don 't think could get any better, with me being all the way in, I 'll always want to go deeper to find the exact spot that will makes you moan and feel the fullest and loudest and own it, never forgetting the path to get there. I always want to go to the source instead of scratching the roof (hypothetically) while sucking on your lips and neck. I already know we will fit perfectly together in every aspect, comfortably. Why? Well be home finally, I know we were made for each other, in and out. In your perspective, if you catch this tornado, do you really think its going to disappear, no. I heard the center is hard to breathe in also. The odd thing is I know even from experience they can demolish one house and the one next to it won 't have a scratch. You have to wonder how that is possible. Cookie cutters don 't stand a chance usually (quality built over quantity...that's a simple fix), just from pictures. I guess the point being I might be a tornado, but you steer it and always will. Why? Refer to all of the past ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It's particularly quite a image once you notice that Gertrude stood there and watched the entire factor. Did she yell, "Guards! facilitate her!"? Did she yell, "Be careful, don't kill yourself!"? Why did she follow Ophelia thereto remote spot? perhaps she simply needed to speak, far from the castle, far from the dudes in body armor with swords. perhaps she pushed Ophelia within the water, or surprised her, inflicting her to fall. perhaps her whole description of the event is associate in an elaborate way elaborated lie. perhaps she simply watched, and thought, "She's higher off" or "That ought to be ME." perhaps she thought, "What might I do associateyway?" perhaps she was jealous of Ophelia of achieving an escape that she couldn't. Working back from this moment, you have got to form a call concerning Gertrude. Did she aggroup with Roman Emperor to murder the king? is that this a love story? • 7. Essay about Hellfire and Damnation Hellfire and Damnation Looking back on my childhood, I have many memories shrouded in fear and self–loathing. I was raised in the Baptist church. My mother and grandmother made sure that I attended church every Sunday morning. My grandmother was from the mid–west. She carried her strict Bible belt background with her as she traveled west with my grandfather. The many lessons I learned from my grandmother and the minister at our church played a big part in how I began to see the world and my place in it. It would seem, looking back now, that the whole basis for my teachings during those early years was fear. I had the most intense fear of going to Hell. The only thing one had to know about Hell was that it was the place where ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We were rotten to the core. We did not deserve God's love or anyone's love, yet God loved us anyway. That made God a really great guy. My interpretation of this particular sermon was that I was a horrible person not worthy of love. I was a sinner and I was going to Hell. I would cry myself to sleep at night because I was so sure that I would be one of those lost souls for all of eternity. The minister talked of redemption. All I had to do to be saved and get into heaven was confess my sins and ask for forgiveness. I was sure, however, that I had far too many sins to be forgiven; besides, I wasn't really sorry for most of my "sins." I could not feel bad about questioning my parents' and the church's authority. Most of the time it seemed that they contradicted themselves or just didn't make any sense at all. I had a very hard time digesting the teachings of the church that included both a God who would demand killing and sacrifice and the same God who would love and protect his children. Due to the teachings I received and with so many people being in agreement, I just figured they must be right on some level, which made me the odd man out and the one destined to pay with my soul. All I had to do was to take a look at the Ten Commandments to see that I was not doing so well in the eyes of the Lord. "You must not Murder," I hadn't done that. "You must not commit adultery." I didn't even know what that meant. "You must not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Difference Between Family Dinners And Dinner Dinners Ethnography is a research method that includes cultures and customs. The way people interact with one another varies from person to person or group to group. The interactions between people tell a great deal about their feelings towards a person. Body language, tone of voice, vocabulary, and the way a person carries themself reveals much deeper information than just when words are exchanged. For this project I am going to research the difference between family dinners and roommate dinners (home away from home). Many people who attend college have heard the phrase or expression "a home away from home" or some variation of this. This phrase was researched through using an actual family and a "family" of four teenage girls who currently live together off– campus at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. The dynamic of two different "families" led to several different findings throughout the ethnographic research. There was an expected power dynamic between the actual family, but a very unexpected power dynamic between the four roommates. The concept of power was then further researched throughout this project to draw conclusions about men, women, rapport–talk, and report–talk. This ethnography research was proposed based off readings from the authors of Tannen and Kiesling. Tannen discusses the differences between the way men and women communicate with one another. Louis gasped, "Excuse me Za–" "Louis! Code three! Code three!" Louis stood up abruptly, stumbling over the diner chair and ignoring Zayn. "Code three, shit, shit. Perrie!" he yelled, straightening out his apron and flipping his fringe, "Perrie! Perrie! Quick how do I look?" "Code three? Whats code three?" Liam and Zayn mumbled at the same time, giving each other confused looks as Perrie ran past them and into the back room where a distressed Louis was fixing his hair and straightening his outfit. "Hair looks good, eyes look good, oh wait–" Perrie licked her thumb, wiping the sauce off that was crusted in the corner of his mouth, "alright teeth check." Louis smiled, flashing his teeth, murmuring through them, "Hurry! Hurry!" "Okay, okay god Louis, do the turn around." Louis quickly spun around, shaking his hands. "Am I good? How does the bum look?" Zayn popped in the door, "What the hell is code three?" "Zayn go away we're busy!" Louis

The efflorescence of humanity converged into a ballistic modernism, lingering on mental pinions, the hipsters, proto–, post– and pseudo–, spiraling perniciously downward in united mania. Mania of such magnificent pulchritude and beauty, melding, intertwining. all concentrated in a singular point where the energies thereof pulled magnetically the straggling no–knowers into it's orifice, colorful deceit and beautiful delirium. The postmodern was nothing. Everything was postmodern. Everything was nothing. It was a steel and silk evening: not quite brisk enough to be cold, but lacking the light to be idyllic and warm. Yasiin remembered many things, the small things, good things, bad things, wrong things, right things; things that were at once normal, before turning into something entirely out of his league. His scars didn't even have time to heal anymore, it was one murder to the next. He tightened his trench coat tighter around his slim body, trying his hardest to shield himself from the nipping wind. He wore a charcoal Brioni three–button suit, that felt like a calfskin glove on his body. It wasn't a work suit usually, but he felt the need today. His eggshell Egyptian cotton dress shirt, by Donna Karan, had white gold cuff links in the shape of hammers from Tiffany's, and the tie was Versace. • 16. Analysis Of The Catcher In The Rye Caught in the Classroom "I'm not going to tell you my whole goddam autobiography or anything. I'll just tell you about this madman stuff that happened to me around last Christmas" (Salinger 3). Published in the 1950s, The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger depicts a three–day journey of Holden Caulfield as he tries to find out more about himself. Through his struggle, Holden experiences many obstacles and events that occur in most teenager's lives, making the book a primary target for banning due to offensive language, suicidal tendencies, sexual content, violence, and outright negativity (Information). Though The Catcher in the Rye contains numerous controversial topics, the novel is still relevant and relatable to teens today, through Holden's depression, vulgar language, and encounters of sexual discrimination; therefore, the story should remain an option for students to read. The Catcher in the Rye features a multitude of examples in which Holden is overwhelmingly suicidal and represents unwanted viewpoints. At one point in the novel, Holden admits, "what I really felt like though, was committing suicide" (Salinger 116). His pessimistic attitude and outlook on life can have a negative effect on the reader. "[The book] has been banned on the lighter premises of using profanities and being sexually explicit/suggestive, while it has also been banned for darker interpretations of the book, such as being part of a Communist plot, anti–religious, and promotive of ... • 18. The Banning Of Banning Catcher In The Rye There are numerous banned books which are removed from shelves due to their controversial content not only just in America but also around the world. The novel, The Catcher in the Rye, written by J.D. Salinger is one of the most well–known "censored publications" throughout American schools. The novel, set in the 1950s, is narrated by a sixteen–year–old boy named Holden Caulfield. The story begins in a mental hospital where Holden is undergoing treatment. From there, he tells his account of his expulsion from school and his subsequent lonesome journey throughout New York, all of which happened leading up to his voluntary admission into the sanitorium. Most of the novel's adversaries argue that the book should be banned due to its vulgar content including the constant use of profanity, the apparent thoughts of violence, and the descriptions of sexual activity. On the contrary, I believe that this novel should not be banned because it brings attention to mental illness. The most valid argument supporting the banning of The Catcher in the Rye is the abundant usage of profanity. The novel is composed of a variety of negative language which helps define Holden's character. Salinger uses multiple words with negative connotations such as: "lousy", "bastard", "sonuvabitch", and "phony". It is no surprise that "three of the top five words in The Catcher in the Rye – "goddam", "hell" and "damn" – are curse words..." (Taylor). So, in a "perfect world" nobody should approve of this ... My dad used to always ask me to record his story of coming to America – the story of all his struggles and accomplishments. Planning to do so later in the future, I didn't think about the time I had left. I thought I would have all the time in the world to do so, and to be able to hear it through his voice. You don't know how wrong I was to think so. On September 27, 2013, I received a text message from my older sister that our dad only had two to three weeks left with us. After battling prostate cancer for about three years – going in and out of the hospitals, back and forth from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, and having two catheters – the cancer spread into my dad's liver and lungs. That day, we were picked up after school and went straight to the St. John's hospital in Maplewood. Learning that day about the short time he had left, everyone was supposed to spend as much time as we could with him. Therefore, my family registered him for Hospice, so that he can stay home and still get all the help he needed, whenever he needed it. Not being able to do so because of school, we had to leave his side. At school, I was aware that my actions were not exhibiting concern for my dad. I would sit about to myself, "Am I having too much fun while my dad is at home suffering?" "Will going to my schools events be too disrespectful towards my family?" Everything at ... Essay on Louis de Bernieres's Captain Corelli’s Mandolin Louis de Bernieres's Captain Corelli's Mandolin Louis de Bernieres uses three principal techniques to portray the effects of war so powerfully in his book. These techniques are the powerful narrative, strong pictorial language, and black humour. Above all, the message is conveyed in the narrative, especially when Louis De Bernieres graphically describes the war's impact on the soldiers who are fighting for their country. At first, the soldiers are united in their fight against the enemy "you are all young and strong, overflowing with life, and you are all in this shit together" – page 38. The mood at the beginning is positive, so much so that the "soldiers grew to love each other" – page 38. They were excited about being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All their illusions disappeared: "We fought and froze and died for an empire that has no purpose" – page 151. The war seems to deaden the soldiers' souls. An example of this is on page 134 "I could think of nothing at all. I was an automaton without emotion or hope". In the end the soldiers break down totally – they degenerate into despair and become like animals, as shown on page 232: "Within the space of a few days we had become skeletons, rooting for food like pigs." The horror and hostility of the war made the soldiers despair so much that they were happy to die – "Dear mother, I came into this world in a state of innocence and leave it so utterly wearied that I am contented to die." This was how they ended up after all the atrocities they had witnessed and committed. "War is a dirty business. We all have to do terrible things." Mandras almost God like in his beauty at the beginning, kills an old man; the war seemed to deaden all their feelings and sympathy. They are left without "emotion or hope". By describing this degradation of morale and emotions, Louis de Bernieres powerfully shows the physical and mental effect of war on the soldiers. A good example of this deterioration is Mandras. Before the war he was physically beautiful, harmonious in the way he moved, and strong. He had "slim hips...sharp shoulders...a taught stomach" that made him look powerful and sculpted. It was an extremely weird concept to begin with. I had a hard time enjoying the Anime at first. I saw myself fading in and out. The first 3 episodes were kind of a mess because some details weren't explained yet and I struggled to follow the Plot. After ep 3 everything cleared up and I actually enjoyed it to a good extent. I'm not saying it is a masterpiece. Nooo, god no. It is far away from being one. There are many plot holes where none of the writers even bothered to fill them up. And yet I highly enjoyed its weird story and slightly above average CGI. ______________ #4 – Hai to Gensou no Grimgar This is probably one of A1–Pictures most beautiful Anime. • 33. The History of the Word Damn Essay The word "damn" has a long and complicated history. How it entered the English language and answering the questions how, when and why it has come to mean the things it does is difficult to answer. It can be used to mean condemn or condemn specifically to hall (by God), and can be used as mild profanity. Tracing the road damn has traveled to become both a religious term and a swear word shows many interesting features of language and the ways in which language are used. The word damn entered the English language from the Old French word damne–r during the Middle English period and first appeared in writing in the early 14th c. (OED s.v. damn). In Latin the word dampnā–re meant to damage, hurt or condemn, which, with the suffix ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So, if it is not a theological tern, then why does it only appear in religious texts? This could just be a coincidence since there were a lot of these sort of books around and many of them have survived. Also, while these texts are about religion and worship, they were written not written for religious scholars but for common people, and they did not yet need a new set of theological terms in English because scholarly work was done in Latin with Latin words (Crystal 128). English was the language of the lower classes since the Norman invasion, but by the time Cursor Mundi was written, the French aristocracy in England had lost their original ties to France and were beginning to speak English. These aristocrats still used many French words for prestige, but among the lower classes, English was seen as the right and natural language and French as the language of oppression and foreignness (Watson 334). Cursor Mundi tries to be as English as posible, stating to its readers that it is about "the love of Englis lede, / Englis lede of Engelande" (qtd. in Watson 334) and goes on to the superiority of English over French. So we can conclude that damn was not a theological term since the first texts it appeared in, while religious in content, are not theological works, and, in fact, the exact opposite is true: these ... Well actually, I take that back, there is something that is worth mentioning; during this time is when I started my sobriety stage. I quit smoking around 2003 and drinking around the same time. Technically speaking the last time I got hammered (drunk) was in 2004 when I made two stops one in Florida and one in Cali. During my Florida trip, I went out with my homeboy bar hopping in South Florida. I drank a pint of Hennessey, about five or six Heinekens, four to 5 shots of Jagermeister and about 4 Coronas. For all intense of purposes that was fucking alcohol poisoning. My ass should have been comatose... lol. The Next drunk episode was the Cali trip, the details are not important. I made a promise to myself that this would be the last time I would allow myself to be shitfaced (extremely drunk) Trust me guys, I got seriously fucked up during my road trip and when I returned back home and I said that's it. In addition, I forgot to mention that I took the fucking Greyhound bus out there from NYC to Florida, then to Cali, then back to NYC. Salinger's The Catcher in the Rye has captured the spirit of adolescence, dramatizing Holden Caulfield's vulgar language and melodramatic reactions. Written as the autobiographical account of a fictional teenage prep school student named Holden Caulfield, The Catcher in the Rye deals with material that is socially scandalous for the time (Gwynn, 1958). As an emotional, intelligent, and sensitive young man, Holden puts his inner world to the test through the sexual mores of his peers and elders, the teachings of his education, and his own emerging sense of self. Throughout the years, the language of the story has startled readers. Salinger's control of Holden's easy, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another colloquialism can be seen in the last two examples. Holden has a habit of ending his descriptions with tag phrases such as "and all" or "or anything." (Salzman, 1991). Not only does Holden speak like this in the beginning of the novel, but throughout the book, making this pattern a part of his character. One could imagine Holden frequently ending his sentences with "and all," and realize it is a character trait of his, since not all teenagers used that phrase. Therefore, the "and all" tag to Holden's speech served to make his speech authentic and individual. (Salzman, 1991). Salinger intentionally used such speech patterns to individualize Holden but also to make him a believable teenager of the early 1950's. Another example of how Holden's speech helped define his character is his constant need to confirm his own affirmations, as if even he did not quite believe himself. These confirmations include phrases such as "...if you want to know the truth," or "...it really does." Holden repeats the first phrase several times throughout the novel: "I have no wind, if you want to know the truth," "I'm pacifist, if you want to know the truth," and a variation: "She had a lot of sex appeal, too, if you really want to know." They are often lacking the capability to realize that artist create for themselves and often use music to fuel their emotions and energy. It is often taken for granted and we just do not appreciate what the artist does. We typecast music and allow genres to dictate us, so if we hear something of a different "genre," we may not like it and judge the whole genre because of that one song. One song or sound does not represent a whole genre of music and will not determine if you will or will not a single song of that genre. We live in a generation, a society or in other and more relative words, "a matrix" where we are comfortable with the same sound and same thing over and over. We do not want anything to change about the things we like and do, because that's what we feel in love with. As a collective, we are often stuck in our ways and become base. Probably you know my family or saw on news; my father was working as a drug dealer, and he had loved milk. Milk... Milk saved my life. It was just ordinary; I got up with a buzz. When I entered the living room, I saw my mom with that stretch her pilates costume. She was disgusting as hell. You know pilates, girls do for looking well–such phoniness. After I saw her, I went the Silvio who is owner of the grocery. Believe me, he is the phoniest person that you can see. He cheats on his wife, every time that he can. Goddamn bastard. I left the house (I got the ax). When I came back, I heard racket which was coming from upstairs. Then... then I faced the goddamn stiffs of my family; even those sons of bitches killed my little brother. Blood coming from his back was flowing like a river. I was terribly shocked; my life was upside–down. I had not any money, a house to live and a family to be with them since they killed because of touchy job of my dad. Then I heard the oncoming footsteps, at that time I got that I was getting in trouble. Only way to live is escaping from that garbage, but there was one thing that I cannot decide: Where can I go? When I took a step, I faced with the D.E.A agents who are the murderers of my family. I attempted to run as hard as I can. Believe me, I am terrific runner. • 52. The Battle of Adolescence in The Catcher in the Rye by... Adolescence is stressful and confusing to say the least, and is a time in one's life where one begins to discover who they are and what they want as they transition into the adult world. In J.D. Salinger's classic American novel, The Catcher in the Rye, the main character Holden, is a downhearted teenage boy used by Salinger in order to portray universal themes to the reader including isolation, loss of innocence, and the phoniness of the adult world. Through Salinger's use of symbolism, the reader is able to ponder Holden and his struggles as he embarks into adulthood in order to come to a deeper understanding of the themes Salinger's symbols represent. One of the most widely recognized symbols of the book is Holden's curiosity about the ducks in Central Park. Holden longs for answers to his question of where the ducks go in the winter. "The ducks. Do you know by any chance? I mean does somebody come around in a truck or something and take them away, or do they fly away by themselves–go south or something? (107). As the ice freezes over the pond and winter comes, the ducks leave, able to escape the brutal winter and the ice for a more pleasant, warmer climate to the south. Holden longs to avoid being apart of the adult world that is engulfed with phoniness, but is unable to understand how to do so. "The fish don't go no place. They stay right where they are, the fish. • 56. Personal Experience: The Story of Us I couldn't believe Niall would do something like that. Going out with another girl while we were dating. Tears were running down my face, I could taste the salt water tears hit my mouth. I stood outside the most expensive and elegant restaurant in London. I smelled the fresh steak and potatoes. He was acting very distant, and I don't know why. Was it me? Did I do something wrong? When he denied my date that morning it took me by surprise. I wasn't trying to be conceded, trust me back then I was the opposite. But we were practically married, we share a flat, same bedroom. Even for my 20th birthday, we got matching tattoos. I had half a heart with his name Niall, he had half a heart and my name Maddie. Those were our first and only tattoos we would ever get. So I decided to follow him to the restaurant he went to with that slut. I don't know who she is, or where she came from. I couldn't take it any longer, so I ran in with tears dripping down my face. I started uttering words like "How could you." and "What the fuck is wrong with you". "Your what's wrong with me." He said " your always on my mind, every second of everyday." he gushed."Maddie Davis, will you marry me". I blushed at the four words I've always wanted to hear. We went back to our flat. Why was he out with that slut? Once we got back to our flat, I went to our room. I got ready for bed, brushed my teeth, put up my hair, and got dressed. Niall suddenly came in, and ... • 62. Examples Of Adult Life In Catcher In The Rye Every human actions meets in nature and they find their own characteristic feature in a good or bad way. Not everyone can say it is a pleasant experiment, but no one can deny that it happened. This single event is 'growing up'. The transition between childhood innocence and adulthood is long and confusing, often uncovering questions that cannot be answered. During this time the adult world seems inviting and free, but only when we become members of a cruel, society can the happy ignorance of childhood be appreciated and missed. The novel Catcher in the Rye examines how adult life appears complex and incomprehensible to teenagers on the brink of entering it. Through the main protagonist Holden Caulfield, J.D. Salinger captures the confusion of a teenager when faced with the challenge of adapting to an adult society. Firstly, Holden's first attack to adulthood is to try and avoid it by entering his own world where he is in control. The 'museum' is a very important place to Holden because it is a place where the normal 'laws' of the world do not exist. The museum serves as his escape from complicated adult life because unlike reality, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The present day Holden refers to most of the people he met during the time he was in New York as ''Old.'' This helps him to disassociate himself with the past and shows that he feels it is a different part of his life. So although during his 'journey of discovery' Holden appears not to have emotionally progressed towards adulthood, clearly he has now evolved and grown up, be it just a ... • 64. Exploring The Controversy Of Bitch Exploring the Controversy: Bitch Words that we utilize in our everyday vocabulary have irrevocably over the years altered in their meanings. The etymology of the word "bitch" is a prime example of a word that has become difficult to categorize into a single definition. The word itself has been adapted, reinvented, and created into a form of endearment (akin to best friends). One can be called a bad bitch or a basic bitch, even a ratchet bitch has become socially acceptable. Being called a bitch not too long ago was immediately perceived as an insult, but being a bitch can signify independency and strength. Going back to when bitch was equivalent to a female dog, the shift in the meaning of the word can be traced to our own cultural guidelines. The implications and intricacies of bitch have evolved, and it's no longer clear what the word indicates anymore. To explore the term bitch and its alternative uses, we'd have to go back to the basics. Before we had "Free the nipple" movement and the song "Girls who run the world" by Beyoncé females held no societal status in America. It was men; indeed, who were superior and who also established the definition for bitch. A bitch in the 1500's referred to your common house pet, a female dog. Not long after the Oxford English Dictionary declared it's meaning, Geoffrey Hughes coined the idea that female dogs were an allusion to the promiscuity and sexuality of females because female dogs have heaps of puppies. I walk over to him knowing that whatever he is going to say, it wasn't going to be good. I see him going to his desk and reaching for his Midlo Morning pass pad and starting scribbling on it. I regretted that choice, this class added more stress to my schedule because my new math teacher tried to catch me up in the worst possible way, making me learn a unit of probability and another completely different unit of probability at the same time. If you didn't know, that crap confused me like hell, and I was completely lost. • 81. Essay on Holden in The Catcher in The Rye The author has put in plenty of themes, messages, ideas, issues, and motifs. The character, Holden Caulfield is alienated from society, is experiencing the painfulness of growing up, thinks that the adult world is full of phoniness, and is sick of hearing about the American Dream from his teachers. JD Salinger has created a book that has raised plenty of questions and controversy towards the readers. The Catcher in the Rye shows how a teenage mind works. JD Salinger has used a stream of consciousness writing style where the character (Holden Caulfield) talks in first person as he presents his thoughts and feelings to the readers. The setting has taken place in the early fifties and the book uses a lot of profane words. The New York ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That's all I do all day. He likes everything easily understandable. He is afraid to admit fear but only admits it in a few instances such as "Sex is something I just don't understand. I swear to God I don't." Instead of facing adulthood, he traps himself in his own little childhood world thinking about his dream job, catching little kids that are about to fall off a rye cliff. Caulfield's loneliness is probably one of the main motifs all throughout the novel. "I felt like jumping out the window. I probably would've, too, if I'd been sure somebody'd cover me up as soon as I landed. I didn't want a bunch of stupid rubbernecks looking at me when I was all gory." As he narrates his time in New York, it shows the readers how he looks for someone that understands him. In some ways, it shows that it is his source of pain and his security.
