CDA DSWD Partnership
1. In line with the mandate of
government agencies which is to
render or deliver public services to
Filipino citizens for the improvement of
their well-being and general welfare,
the Cooperative Development Authority
– Dagupan Extension Office (CDA-
DEO) entered into a Memorandum of
Agreement (MOA) with the Department
of Social Welfare – Field Office I
(DSWD-FOI).
The purpose of the MOA is to establish partnership arrangement to implement
various skills training on microenterprise development projects in Region 1 for SLP
beneficiaries that will enable said beneficiaries to actively participate in the local
economy as coop-entrepreneurs.
The identified skills training is “Skills training on Bookkeeping for Non
accountants” and a target of Seven Hundred Eighty (780) qualified SLP beneficiaries
for the four provinces of the region. The project was implemented for the period April to
July 2018 with a total project cost of Php1,529,580.00. There were 26 batches
composed of 30 participants per batch. On the other hand, The CDA provided travelling
for their staff as counterpart to the program.
2. The implementing agency created a team of trainers who are knowledgeable in
bookkeeping and accounting to be able to conduct the trainings effectively and
simultaneously in all provinces of Region 1. As of June 30, 2018, there were 27
batches conducted with 769 SLP participants.
In the near future, an assessment of the program implementation will be
conducted involving SLP beneficiaries with both CDA and DSWD technical staff to
determine issues and concerns in program implementation and also to gauge benefits
of the undertakings.
