2. Introduction -
• Our topic for this project was the music video promotion we
had to create our own music video and along with this we had
two promotional adverts and Digipak, these went along with
the Music video. We created the advert and also the digipak.
Our house style was keeping the theme of pop and dance,
which is very bright and pastel summery and happy colours
3. MusicVideo
Our music video is a very distinct and clear dance video mainly with some lip syncing.
We considered this as our main style throughout the music video and you can also see
some social media aspects which come through in the video too as we thought the
more modernised and up to date the video the better it is to watch and fits with our
target audience. We liked to use quick cuts to show excitement and this is usually
linking to a fast and upbeat song which is matching with the beats and cuts on the
beat.We chose this style as we were both inspired by the music video Sorry - Justin
Bieber as this had a massive reputation at the time we started the project. We then
found a MeghanTrainor song which was upbeat and had the title and lyrics “Better
when I'm dancin’” so this fit perfectly for us.We think that MeghanTrainor is a very
popular artist for our chosen target audience and also she dances a lot in her other
video such as “all about that bass”.We wanted our target audience to see that they
can get up and dance no matter where they are and enjoy themselves no matter what
style or way they dance.
6. DigiPak
This is meghan trainors front and back digipak, this is very similar to ours as she was the
main inspiration and this colours, poses and structure show conventions of the pop genre.
We have decided to stick with the pastel colours for our house style, and the facials of the
images are very similar and these are conforming to the pop genre. We have decided to use
the same font for the blue coloured MeghanTrainor writing as this is for the front and back
cover, and having it different for the pink MeghanTrainor as this is her signature. We have
added the ripped effect on the covers which is giving it a more modern and young look
which is conforming with our target audience.
7. Conclusion
Throughout our products we kept the house style the same throughout by
using the same pastel colours and the ripped effect throughout all of the
synergy(Digipak and advert). We also decided to keep our model really
happy and cheerful looking so that it is fitting in with our target audience,
also is looking along the same lines as meghan trainor's above.
If i could change anything about the products i would change the costume
which she is wearing as this is just really plain and boring whereas we
could of made her wear something more bright and colourful but this was
due to timing and getting together for the photos and also the budget.
