Human Resources Management Is Where Everything Begins And...
Human resources management is where everything begins and ends for an individual an organization. It's where the total processes are created and
initiated. Examples of these processes are: planning, communication, motivation, code of ethics, decisions, forecasting, total compensation, diversity,
discrimination, records, rights protection, leadership, career development, training, hiring, performance appraisal, equal employment opportunity,
empowerment, promotion, recruitment. Human resources management also, sets strategic processes and procedures, run difficult and complex
communication as they attract the best talents for an organization. These processes no doubt cause HRM to face many challenges for an organization
and the individual. Challenges for the organization may include: communication, competitive positions; – cost, quality, distinctive capabilities,
decentralization, downsizing, organizational restricting, self–managed work team, small business, organizational culture, technology and outsourcing.
Challenges for the individual are matching people and organization, ethical dilemma and social responsibility, productivity, empowerment, brain–drain,
and job security. In order to meet the challenges head on, human resources management must be able to identify the problem and be proactive by taking
appropriate action to resolve the problem. Example, if an individual leaves an organization because of the higher salary position, this means that an

Management and Company Organization Notes and Answers
Ans: Open System is a theoretical model of an Organization, used to diagnose/investigate it.
The three main key issues involved in an open system are
How does theory analyze various components and section?
How does theory cope with different environments?
How does theory transmit its processed outputs?
Five key system properties of Open system theory:
Input: Input resources are taken or received from the external environment.
Transformation: The process of conversion or transformation of resources within a system.
Outputs: The work of the system, exported back into the environment.
Boundaries: The distinction between system and the environment.
Feedback: A continuing source of information concerning the relationship with the external environment used to make the necessary change in order to
survive and to grow.
Equifinality: Relative causes and effects between initial and final state of a system.
Alignment: Overall effectiveness of a system is determined based on the effectiveness of different subsystems aligned with in it.
Ans: An effective diagnostic model in place can help, identifying reliable data of an organization to understand the strengths, weakness, area of
improvement, and opportunities. The six–box model is an effective and easy to use diagnostic model. The six organizational factors: the organization
strategy, structures, rewards, internal relationship, helpful mechanisms and leadership.

Business News Daily, 2013 explained PEST Analysis (Political, Economic, Social and Technological Analysis) as how those external factors can affect

The article further explained that aside the fact that some organizations already have factors affecting their performance, there are some factors outside
the organization that can determine the positive result of business. For those organizations to determine how those factors outside the organization can
be of positive impact, they decide to conduct a PEST Analysis. In this research, I would be using TARGET CANADA as a case study on PEST
Analysis.
ABOUT TARGET CANADA.
"Target Canada. Co is the Canadian subsidiary of United States – based discount department store chain Target Corporation which was formed in 2011
to oversee the company's Canadian operations. Target Canada's main rival in the Discount store is Walmart, while there is also competition with

Organizational Cultural Inventory (OCI) Essays
OCI Paper
I applied the Organizational Cultural Inventory (OCI) with the intention that it is a fictional company, J Enterprises. It will be assumed that it is one of
the largest financial services companies in the world. The main emphasis of the responses comes from the department in which I work. However, the
results could be indicative of the entire company.
The OCI Circumplex showed that the company has a culture with moderately strong Oppositional and Humanistic–Encouraging styles. It also
significantly displays Avoidance and Self–Actualizing styles. The two least prominent styles are Perfectionistic and Approval. At first glance, the
organization may seem to be working against itself, since the styles are on opposite sides of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The company has a strong terminal value of supporting a long–term investment philosophy. Two of the instrumental values used to achieve this are
being courageous, and exercising self–discipline. One instance that showed both of these values was during the late 1990s. At that time, investments in
technology companies, and the technology sector of the financial markets had been increasing at a high rate of return. This organization did not spend
disproportionate resources creating or maintaining products to "chase" the returns on technology investments. That would be considered contrary to
the company value of long–term investing. This showed both courage and self–discipline.
A strong strategy is another factor that is prevalent in this organization. One of the strategies, directed towards institutional investors, is to position the
company as the total retirement provider. This concept is a part of everyday dealings with the clients. For example, when there are discussions with a
company about that client's main retirement plan, the presentation is made to service other retirement vehicles that the company may have. However,
this organization does not seek to provide non–retirement services, such as payroll, to their clients. This well defines strategy is important within the
company.
The other organizational behavior factor that is important at the company is communication. This is shown in all three types of organizational
communication: downward, upward,

Becoming A Virtual Team At The Usa, Brazil, Japan,...
In the business world, individuals are mostly required to work with one another in teams to accomplish tasks. Usually different team members come
to the realization that working with one another to accomplish common goals is challenging. In the given situation, a virtual team with people from
six different parts of the world was formed, and I happened to be the leader. The USA, Brazil, Japan, Germany, Israel and China are the places where
my team players come from. Working in a diverse group, I expect all members to bring their knowledge and talents to the table, but I do also expect
the group to confront many challenges such as communication, technology use, cultural differences, different time zones, and self–management. The
first major challenge is communication. Team members from entirely different cultures are required to communicate to get the work done. Within the
team, there are many communication preferences such as using E–mails, Instant Messaging, Skype, Video Conferencing, and discussion boards. My
job as a leader is to consider each member's strengths, weaknesses, and that some of them have never experienced being in a virtual team. That is, I
will evaluate each communication preference and choose one way to ensure effective and efficient work. In my opinion, using E–mails or Instant
Messaging can be difficult in cross–cultural communication because there are no visual cues to help people avoid misunderstanding and build trust.

Teamwork And Communication Of The Healthcare Field Essay
Teamwork and communication are very important in providing good quality care, especially in the healthcare field. A team is described as a group of
people that works together and cooperatively, between each member of the group to reach a common goal (Sullivan, 2013). For a team to function,
communication is essential. A report by McKay and Crippen (2008), as stated by Alfaro–LeFevre, (2013) showed that when collaboration is in place,
hospitals can decrease their mortality rate by 41%. When mortality rate is lower, hospitals does not only decreased cost, but it also means that patients
are receiving good quality care. In the hospital, a team includes a CEO, managers, supervisors, charge nurses, medical doctors, nurses, nursing
assistants, social workers and maintenance crews; it can also include many other members. In addition, a well–functioning team is led by a good leader;
a leader does not necessary mean the CEO, but someone who is driven, knowledgeable, and a good communicator. Charge nurse and nurses are
normally the one that handles the care of patients in the hospital. Both charge nurses and nurses can be considered leaders. It is why, it is very crucial
that nurses are good communicators. One would say that nurses are the spoke person of a hospital to its patients. The nurses care for their patient
closely, they communicate with the doctors regarding the care of the patient; they communicate with the pharmacies, nursing assistant, colleagues, and
many more. Those

Plan for Managing an International Team
Part 1. Team Organization The purpose of this plan for managing the international team is to increase the probability that the relationships of team
members are viable, that team members feel recognized and valued, and that the productivity of the teams is optimized. In addition, this management
plan is designed to ensure that travel expenses and travel time is reduced to the minimum necessary for effective productivity. Further, the philosophy
of the company has always been that a diverse team permits a deeper range of professional experience and knowledge than a homogeneous team. A
typical hierarchical arrangement will not meet the needs of the virtual teams, and a primary goal of mine is to ensure that the management structure is as
facile as necessary to ensure fluid functioning. For this reason, team leaders in each country will be expected to study and learn about the various
cultures in which they conduct business, both with their internal teams and with contractors.
Team leaders will be responsible for the organization of their teams and for the collaboration across teams, which is vital to product. My role in this
management plan is indirect and focuses on oversight of the teams, while direct responsibility for team functioning rests with the team leaders. I will
meet annually with each of the annual teams.
Part 2. Facilitation of Communication In order to encourage team members to become familiar with other members of the global team, a community

B & IT School Virtualization Report
A more proficient IT infrastructure is required as the use of more software increases the needs of powerful and faster PCs. One of the trends that can
help this issue is Virtualization. This technology is described as the "abstraction" of the physical elements (such as network resources, operating
system and storage) into virtual ones (Portnoy, 2012, p.2). Virtualization allows a physical machine to run several virtual machines (VM). B&IT
School is a quite famous school of Sydney which is imaginary. Courses of Business and Information Technology have been offered for the last 10
years. This education institute has been recognized for the varieties of IT courses delivered with up–to–date infrastructure. Due to the high costs, the IT
system has experienced delays in hardware and software upgrades. Most applications used on courses are running on local computers requiring good
functioning computers. This creates challenges for students enrolled in Software Development because they cannot practice with newer technologies.
Therefore, students have some difficulties in performing daily learning activities. After receiving several students' complaints regarding poor desktops'
performance over the last year, the organization has decided to analyze the current system to provide suitable solutions. One of the solutions for the
B&IT School is implementing a Virtualization technology. 1.2Aims This report intends to develop a business proposal for the virtualization project

Analyse how organisational theory underpins principles and practices of organising and of management
To analyse organizational theory we must first look at what organizational theory is.
" organizational theory is a loosely knit family of many approaches to organizational analysis"
Organisational theory and management is applied in different ways in business, for a staff to become productive in their job they must adhere to the
theory to help them become successful in their duties, even though doing this may course them to loosing up in their personal believes and principle.
In this same manner management theory can underpin the principle and believes of an individual, but for a manager to carry out their duties
successfully they have to first put the company first before their principles. If a company decides to make a decision that is not suited with the
mangers principle or believes the manger will have to follow the companies' procedure first so as to produce a good job to achieve the companies goal.
Even though it is difficult to manage both the organization theory and the management theory it also important follow the organization

Technology Implementation in Companies: An Overview
Technology Implementation: The implementation of new technology in a company is usually an enormous process with potential difficulties that may
have long–term impact on the organization. In most cases, the implementation of technology usually involves installation of new software and
hardware that the technology will operate on. This process also involves the range of possible and unavoidable problems that are associated with
human factors, which are totally unpredictable. Consequently, the implementation of technology requires an organization to appreciate the fact that
conflicts may arise in order to anticipate significant trouble spots, avoid problems, and lessen the problems significantly. New technologies are
regarded as mechanisms developed to make human work easier since they provide fast and quality services. In order to meet the evolving needs and
demands of the public, many companies across various industries are adapting and implementing new technologies.
Important Considerations in the Implementation of Technology: The effectiveness of the implementation of technology usually involves some
important considerations by the organization. First, the management of the company needs to understand that new technologies or systems do not
guarantee a one–size–fits–all solution to the existing problems experienced by the organization (Carcone, 2008). Secondly, the whole process of
implementation incorporates the entire business process, customer service, pedagogic

Introduction
The single most critical problem that the managers are facing today is managing the people. This is the most challenging issues that every kind of
organizations is dealing with now aday. Organizational behaviour is the study of individual, group and organization as a whole that examines the effect
of organizational structure and culture on organizational performance. Therefore, it mostly tries to define the performance and efficiency factors of
anorganization.Organizational structure and organizational culture are highly correlated performance factors. It basically defines the appropriate
structure of an organization in order to get more thanaverage performance. Organizational culture is a primary factor for employee turnover and job
satisfaction (Bolden, 2004). If an organization possesses a strong culture of self–respect and employee affiliation, it is no wonder that the employee
retention rate would be very high(Tracy, 2013).In this report, the relationship between organizational culture and organizational structure will be
pointed out. While doing so we

Risk Assessment As A Way Of Profiling Risk
Risk refers to a likelihood, probability, a chance that a loss may occur in a given organization. Most of the times, there is a high risk when there is
vulnerability. In this case, vulnerability refers to a weakness that the organization has. Risk assessment refers to the process of identification of
potential hazards and proper analysis of the expected losses if those hazards occur (Homeland Security, n.d.). Risk assessment as a way of profiling risk
according to impact to the organization. Some organizations have business impact analysis exercises geared towards determination of potential hazards
based risk assessment approaches. Organizations' risk differ depending on the size and the type of business they are doing. The disparity in
organizations' risk call for different adaptation of risk assessment approaches. Even with the disparities of the businesses, proper risk management not
only ranks the risks according to the seriousness but also identifies the best methods to control risks in an organization.
Good risk assessment requires an elaborate plan. A risk management plan is a project management type that helps ensure that an organization reaches
desired goals in a given project (Gibson, 2010). Like every plan, caution should be taken to make sure that goals of the assessment are achievable
given the best accommodation of time and cost. This calls for organization to have a risk scope. Risk scope simply identifies the boundaries of a given
risk assessment. This is

Informed decision–making is an important aspect for working in the government. According to Milakovich and Gordon, provide some examples of how
information technology can be used to assist bureaucrats in decision–making? The depth and quality of knowledge used by policy makers can
influence the effectiveness of policies. According to Milakovich and Gordon, competitive political forces constantly push elected representatives to
focus on immediate political decisions, rather than on long term professional–administrative values such as efficient use of resources and increased

constant input of information in order to continue functioning systemically and productively; assumes that a lack of information will lead to chaos in

preference to others, expending some amount of organizational assets or individual resources to implement the decision, and acting with the

monitoring the ongoing decisional process, and reducing the resource expenditure, uncertainty, and risk involved in achieving whatever gains are

in routine decision making is that decision makers may fail to perceive a need to reconsider existing policy or program assumptions on which routine

A Interview On Florida Hospital
Florida Hospital was founded in Orlando by the Seventh Day Adventist church in 1908. It is part of a 46–hospital network, with 20 nursing homes and
25 health care agencies extending across 12 states that make up Adventist Health System (AHS). AHS is one of the nation's largest hospital systems,
and is a not–for–profit healthcare organization.
The Florida Hospital name consists of nine campuses within Central Florida. AHS has an additional twenty–eight total campuses throughout Florida
that also bear the Florida Hospital name. The nine campuses within central Florida total 2,247 beds and make it the largest single provider of Medicare
services in the United States.
Linen utilization is a backstage service that is critical for hospital functioning. There is an awareness deficiency of how much linen loss has an effect on
the hospital's bottom line might make a significant contribution to the improper use of linen. Clinical and significant healthcare support service staffs
are in the front–line of linen utilization and would therefore be the appropriate representative to disclose how they see the linen leaving the hospital,
how the current process may be improved, and what additional training would be effective. However, there has been limited attention or resources
invested for its proper functioning which heightened the team's interest to tap possible improvement opportunities.
Florida Hospital has a central laundry system for the processing of their linens.

IT department managers should first try and understand the team capacity and availability for a project identify the feasibility of achieving the same in
the given timelines and accordingly plan for the resource allocation. This has to be communicated clearly to the business team manager in a meeting

various departments that are functioning. In the absence of proper communication, there will be lack of clarity in thought and action. Once a project is
taken up, managers across both the teams involved need to communicate adequately the strategies to be followed, the implementation and the possible
issues that could arise in the future in order to ensure that the deliverables are met within the timelines. In order to have an effective relationship with
business managers, IT managers need to first understand that they also belong to the same company in which the former do. Any employee of an
organization should put his/her individual interests below the interests of the organization as a whole. This holds good to an IT manager too. When he

non–managerial members, most of whom are technical professionals, have to contribute ideas toward developing better product offerings. This is the
appropriate structure for City College because it now has a large number of employees, something that will require order within its ranks. In addition,
the tall structure does not require much input from lower levels during the decision–making process. A short structure on the other hand has few

which employees are left to their own devices in accomplishing tasks with very little supervision. Such a structure works extremely well in the
described cultures and leads to higher productivity. However, in a large organization with numerous products or covering wide geographical regions, it
becomes ineffective because there are no clear reporting hierarchies. It could lead to disharmony and confusion. In

Culture and Structure
Some form of organizational culture and structure exist in every organization. Successful organizations are often credited with having an appropriate
organizational culture and/or structure in place that allows them to reach success. Many companies can believe that they have the needed structure in
place to assure success; yet they fail where others succeed. Some work very well, and some just do not work at all. For any organizational culture and
structure to function properly, it seems as though alignment within the organization towards these end goals is necessary. In organizations, upper
management determines the company vision (its desired end state) as well as its mission and strategy to achieve this ultimate goal. The ability of an ...

As the organization 's culture matures, employees will learn the pivotal values and norms from the organization 's formal socialization practices and
from the signs, symbols, stories, rites, ceremonies and organizational language that develop informally. Organizational culture is shaped by the
interaction of four main factors: the personal and professional characteristics of people within the organization, organizational ethics, the nature of
employment relationship, and the design of its organizational structure. These factors work together to produce different cultures in different
organizations and cause changes in culture over time.
Green River 's culture can change if it alters its organizational structure and empower self–managed teams. Mechanistic structures give rise to very
different sets of norms, rules and cultural values than do organic structures. In a flat decentralized structure, people have more freedom to choose and
control their own activities, and desirable instrumental values include being creative or courageous and taking risks. Thus, an organic structure is
likely to give rise to a culture in which innovation and flexibility are desired terminal values (George & Jones, p.547).

the social benefits of psychological intimacy and integrated involvement we discussed at the beginning of the chapter. Task functions are those
activities directly related to the effective completion of the team's work. For example, the task of initiating activity involves suggesting ideas, defining
problems, and proposing approaches and/or solutions to problems. A main task that is carried out is researching information. It may sound easy to
look up something on the internet, but are the results going to have quality? Each member of a group should be assigned a sub–topic to start
researching on. All of that information can be put together to support the main topic. The group should include details of: The topic's origin
Background information Supporting theories Any possible facts Finding the sources Maintenance functions enhance togetherness, cooperation, and
teamwork, enabling members to achieve psychological intimacy while furthering the success of the team. Jody Grant's supportive attitude and
comfortable demeanor as chairman and CEO of Texas Capital Bancshares enabled him to build a vibrant bank in the aftermath of the great Texas

Business Management And The Future Business Model
Introduction
Since the beginning of the twentieth century has seen a growing interest in entrepreneurial activities and to the characteristics of governance models.
This news is not surprising, since many areas of human activity understand that when using the correct scientific approach to the organization of the
production process can be achieved the highest productivity. A number of key issues arise from the statement. For instance, entrepreneurship despite
its relatively short period of time has passed a long way of evolution from a rather banal management practices to modern and innovative technologies
and methods of business management. Business management can be considered a system of economic analysis of the company. Therefore, the strategy
of operation and development of any enterprise is impossible without competent use of principles, methods, forms and techniques of governance.
Creation and organization of ideas are the main factors affecting the quality and viability of the future business model. Thus, business management is a
scientific approach based on the analysis of data to achieve the goal by applying the rational use of material and labor resources of the enterprise. This
review will show the most interesting moments connected with business management, and we will try to understand the two most common methods of
management. Therefore, This article will be structured as follows: first , it will be a small digression into the history aspects and we will

Coordination Plan
3. Coordination Plan There is a multitude of reasons for an organization to have a business continuity plan in place. The incident does not really matter
whether it is natural or manmade disaster/incident but if an incident occurs, it can have a disastrous effect causing the company operation to become
unstable and having the inability to contain or control its impact can halt the business routine (Vacca, 2013).
Also, creating a good working relationship with the law enforcement can assist in aiding an organization with an incident. Although organizations will
sometimes not notify or include LE with their investigation because it can only be for the internal purpose such as monitoring an employee, it can have

Use of advanced security information and event management solution is in place in order to capture any anomaly or detect nefarious activities within
the network (Abelar, 2014).
Other considerations to take to make sure that network intrusion is detected and/mitigated is by constantly monitoring the network for any anomalies
and having an alert/notification system. Alert and notification system will allow for the organizations incident response team/plan to be activated and
take necessary steps to isolate the incident, contain, and take necessary action to resolve the issue. Additionally, organization needs to have in–depth
defense security architecture to protect their infrastructure. Administrative, technical, and physical security controls are only a few of them that can be
used to protect their asset. Administrative control can implement policy for employees to take necessary training to help their infrastructure. Some of

You can greatly increase creativity and problem solving with the use of cross–functional teams because of their composition. Members of
cross–functional teams come with a diversity of experience, expertise, and knowledge. This diversity can help broaden perspectives and create
synergy, where interaction of the members create a greater effect than the sum effects of each member acting alone, leading to a high level of creativity.
Cross–functional teams are not without disadvantages. The team can take significantly longer to develop cohesion because members come from
different experiences and backgrounds. Moreover, a team leader must take care managing team relationships carefully because there may be a high
level of conflict in these teams due to unit rivalry, egos, and possible conflict between the interests of the various parts of the organization represented

Informed decision–making is an important aspect for working in the government. According to Milakovich and Gordon, provide some examples of how
information technology can be used to assist bureaucrats in decision–making? The depth and quality of knowledge used by policy makers can
influence the effectiveness of policies. According to Milakovich and Gordon, competitive political forces constantly push elected representatives to
focus on immediate political decisions, rather than on long term professional–administrative values such as efficient use of resources and increased
productivity (p.431). During President Bush' election he used certain failures of the past administration to enhance his win to presidency as the public

Information theory is the modern theory of organization that views organizations as requiring constant input of information in order to continue
functioning systemically and productively; assumes that a lack of information will lead to chaos in organizational operations (p.165). Decision making
includes making a choice to alter some existing condition, choosing one course of action in preference to others, expending some amount of
organizational assets or individual resources to implement the decision, and acting with the expectation of gaining something desirable (p.194). Things
that are important to the decision–making process includes increasing potential gains, monitoring the ongoing decisional process, and reducing the
resource expenditure, uncertainty, and risk involved in achieving whatever gains are made (p. 195). Through every carefully thought out decision the
government makes on behalf of its citizens there are risks involved. A risk involved in routine decision making is that decision makers may fail to
perceive a need to reconsider existing policy or program assumptions on which routine decisions are based (p.195). Milakovich and Gordon state that
central to decision making elements is the quality and quantity of information available. Decision makers needs to be informed to serve as a basis for

Change management is a very painful process and it often erupted into argument. Analyze if agile techniques should be considered in solving
Primavera's problems. Support your response Agile techniques should be used to solve the current issues faced by the company as agile techniques
normally being used by the software industry help the business to act in response under the unpredictable situations faced. In Agile methodologies
opportunities are been provided to evaluate whether the project is under the direction all through its development cycle. All this is being
accomplished with the help of regular tempo kept in work, and the teams must show a product which is having the desired potential. Focus is kept on
the recurrence of condensed work cycles and also at the functional product yielded by the outcome, but in waterfall technique only once chance is
been given to the development team to keep the project aspects right. But under the agile technique each and every feature of development including
the design, requirements, is thoroughly checked under its lifecycle (Mahfuj et al, 2012). There is always some time to steer in another direction if a
team stops at regular interval say after every two weeks and re–evaluates the project done. This "inspect–and–adapt" technique reduces the
development cost and release time for the project is kept

October, 2014 Business News Daily, 2013 explained PEST Analysis (Political, Economic, Social and Technological Analysis) as how those external factors can affect a business's activities and performance... The article further explained that aside the fact that some organizations already have factors affecting their performance, there are some factors outside the organization that can determine the positive result of business. For those organizations to determine how those factors outside the organization can be of positive impact, they decide to conduct a PEST Analysis. In this research, I would be using TARGET CANADA as a case study on PEST Analysis. ABOUT TARGET CANADA. "Target Canada. Co is the Canadian subsidiary of United States – based discount department store chain Target Corporation which was formed in 2011 to oversee the company's Canadian operations. Target Canada's main rival in the Discount store is Walmart, while there is also competition with supermarket chains such as Loblaws, Metro and Sobeys (despite having agreement with Sobeys) and other retailers such as Sears Canada, Canadian Tire, Shoppers Drug Mart and Rexall. ... It will be assumed that it is one of the largest financial services companies in the world. The main emphasis of the responses comes from the department in which I work. However, the results could be indicative of the entire company. The OCI Circumplex showed that the company has a culture with moderately strong Oppositional and Humanistic–Encouraging styles. It also significantly displays Avoidance and Self–Actualizing styles. The two least prominent styles are Perfectionistic and Approval. At first glance, the organization may seem to be working against itself, since the styles are on opposite sides of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The company has a strong terminal value of supporting a long–term investment philosophy. Two of the instrumental values used to achieve this are being courageous, and exercising self–discipline. One instance that showed both of these values was during the late 1990s. At that time, investments in technology companies, and the technology sector of the financial markets had been increasing at a high rate of return. This organization did not spend disproportionate resources creating or maintaining products to "chase" the returns on technology investments. That would be considered contrary to the company value of long–term investing. This showed both courage and self–discipline. A strong strategy is another factor that is prevalent in this organization. One of the strategies, directed towards institutional investors, is to position the company as the total retirement provider. This concept is a part of everyday dealings with the clients. For example, when there are discussions with a company about that client's main retirement plan, the presentation is made to service other retirement vehicles that the company may have. However, this organization does not seek to provide non–retirement services, such as payroll, to their clients. This well defines strategy is important within the company. The other organizational behavior factor that is important at the company is communication. This is shown in all three types of organizational communication: downward, upward, ... • 8. Becoming A Virtual Team At The Usa, Brazil, Japan,... In the business world, individuals are mostly required to work with one another in teams to accomplish tasks. Usually different team members come to the realization that working with one another to accomplish common goals is challenging. In the given situation, a virtual team with people from six different parts of the world was formed, and I happened to be the leader. The USA, Brazil, Japan, Germany, Israel and China are the places where my team players come from. Working in a diverse group, I expect all members to bring their knowledge and talents to the table, but I do also expect the group to confront many challenges such as communication, technology use, cultural differences, different time zones, and self–management. The first major challenge is communication. Team members from entirely different cultures are required to communicate to get the work done. Within the team, there are many communication preferences such as using E–mails, Instant Messaging, Skype, Video Conferencing, and discussion boards. My job as a leader is to consider each member's strengths, weaknesses, and that some of them have never experienced being in a virtual team. That is, I will evaluate each communication preference and choose one way to ensure effective and efficient work. In my opinion, using E–mails or Instant Messaging can be difficult in cross–cultural communication because there are no visual cues to help people avoid misunderstanding and build trust. • 9. Teamwork And Communication Of The Healthcare Field Essay Teamwork and communication are very important in providing good quality care, especially in the healthcare field. A team is described as a group of people that works together and cooperatively, between each member of the group to reach a common goal (Sullivan, 2013). For a team to function, communication is essential. A report by McKay and Crippen (2008), as stated by Alfaro–LeFevre, (2013) showed that when collaboration is in place, hospitals can decrease their mortality rate by 41%. When mortality rate is lower, hospitals does not only decreased cost, but it also means that patients are receiving good quality care. In the hospital, a team includes a CEO, managers, supervisors, charge nurses, medical doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, social workers and maintenance crews; it can also include many other members. In addition, a well–functioning team is led by a good leader; a leader does not necessary mean the CEO, but someone who is driven, knowledgeable, and a good communicator. Charge nurse and nurses are normally the one that handles the care of patients in the hospital. Both charge nurses and nurses can be considered leaders. It is why, it is very crucial that nurses are good communicators. One would say that nurses are the spoke person of a hospital to its patients. The nurses care for their patient closely, they communicate with the doctors regarding the care of the patient; they communicate with the pharmacies, nursing assistant, colleagues, and many more. • 10. Plan for Managing an International Team Part 1. Team Organization The purpose of this plan for managing the international team is to increase the probability that the relationships of team members are viable, that team members feel recognized and valued, and that the productivity of the teams is optimized. In addition, this management plan is designed to ensure that travel expenses and travel time is reduced to the minimum necessary for effective productivity. Further, the philosophy of the company has always been that a diverse team permits a deeper range of professional experience and knowledge than a homogeneous team. A typical hierarchical arrangement will not meet the needs of the virtual teams, and a primary goal of mine is to ensure that the management structure is as facile as necessary to ensure fluid functioning. For this reason, team leaders in each country will be expected to study and learn about the various cultures in which they conduct business, both with their internal teams and with contractors. Team leaders will be responsible for the organization of their teams and for the collaboration across teams, which is vital to product. My role in this management plan is indirect and focuses on oversight of the teams, while direct responsibility for team functioning rests with the team leaders. I will meet annually with each of the annual teams. Part 2. • 11. B & IT School Virtualization Report A more proficient IT infrastructure is required as the use of more software increases the needs of powerful and faster PCs. One of the trends that can help this issue is Virtualization. This technology is described as the "abstraction" of the physical elements (such as network resources, operating system and storage) into virtual ones (Portnoy, 2012, p.2). Virtualization allows a physical machine to run several virtual machines (VM). B&IT School is a quite famous school of Sydney which is imaginary. Courses of Business and Information Technology have been offered for the last 10 years. This education institute has been recognized for the varieties of IT courses delivered with up–to–date infrastructure. Due to the high costs, the IT system has experienced delays in hardware and software upgrades. Most applications used on courses are running on local computers requiring good functioning computers. This creates challenges for students enrolled in Software Development because they cannot practice with newer technologies. Therefore, students have some difficulties in performing daily learning activities. After receiving several students' complaints regarding poor desktops' performance over the last year, the organization has decided to analyze the current system to provide suitable solutions. One of the solutions for the B&IT School is implementing a Virtualization technology. 1.2Aims This report intends to develop a business proposal for the virtualization project ... In this same manner management theory can underpin the principle and believes of an individual, but for a manager to carry out their duties successfully they have to first put the company first before their principles. • 13. Technology Implementation in Companies: An Overview Technology Implementation: The implementation of new technology in a company is usually an enormous process with potential difficulties that may have long–term impact on the organization. In most cases, the implementation of technology usually involves installation of new software and hardware that the technology will operate on. This process also involves the range of possible and unavoidable problems that are associated with human factors, which are totally unpredictable. Consequently, the implementation of technology requires an organization to appreciate the fact that conflicts may arise in order to anticipate significant trouble spots, avoid problems, and lessen the problems significantly. New technologies are regarded as mechanisms developed to make human work easier since they provide fast and quality services. In order to meet the evolving needs and demands of the public, many companies across various industries are adapting and implementing new technologies. Important Considerations in the Implementation of Technology: The effectiveness of the implementation of technology usually involves some important considerations by the organization. First, the management of the company needs to understand that new technologies or systems do not guarantee a one–size–fits–all solution to the existing problems experienced by the organization (Carcone, 2008). Most of the times, there is a high risk when there is vulnerability. In this case, vulnerability refers to a weakness that the organization has. Risk assessment refers to the process of identification of potential hazards and proper analysis of the expected losses if those hazards occur (Homeland Security, n.d.). Risk assessment as a way of profiling risk according to impact to the organization. Some organizations have business impact analysis exercises geared towards determination of potential hazards based risk assessment approaches. Organizations' risk differ depending on the size and the type of business they are doing. The disparity in organizations' risk call for different adaptation of risk assessment approaches. Even with the disparities of the businesses, proper risk management not only ranks the risks according to the seriousness but also identifies the best methods to control risks in an organization. Good risk assessment requires an elaborate plan. A risk management plan is a project management type that helps ensure that an organization reaches desired goals in a given project (Gibson, 2010). It is part of a 46–hospital network, with 20 nursing homes and 25 health care agencies extending across 12 states that make up Adventist Health System (AHS). AHS is one of the nation's largest hospital systems, and is a not–for–profit healthcare organization. The Florida Hospital name consists of nine campuses within Central Florida. AHS has an additional twenty–eight total campuses throughout Florida that also bear the Florida Hospital name. The nine campuses within central Florida total 2,247 beds and make it the largest single provider of Medicare services in the United States. Linen utilization is a backstage service that is critical for hospital functioning. There is an awareness deficiency of how much linen loss has an effect on the hospital's bottom line might make a significant contribution to the improper use of linen. Clinical and significant healthcare support service staffs are in the front–line of linen utilization and would therefore be the appropriate representative to disclose how they see the linen leaving the hospital, how the current process may be improved, and what additional training would be effective. However, there has been limited attention or resources invested for its proper functioning which heightened the team's interest to tap possible improvement opportunities. This is the appropriate structure for City College because it now has a large number of employees, something that will require order within its ranks. In addition, the tall structure does not require much input from lower levels during the decision–making process. A short structure on the other hand has few hierarchal levels.
