Critical Path Method (CPM).
The critical path method was first developed at Dupont during the 1950's. CPM analysis consists of using a lot of diagrams to look at the activity,
time needed and result. We advise you to read a CPM based book in conjunction with reading this section to see how the diagrams develop. We shall
now briefly discuss CPM logic.
There are 2 basic areas of CPM:

Planning and scheduling process of construction sector has been undergoing various research since 1950s. The planning and scheduling processes for
construction can be broadly classified into two categories 1. Activity based planning methodologies and 2. Location based planning methodologies. The
activity based methodology is further subdivided as deterministic (Critical path method) and probabilistic method (Program Evaluation and Review
Technique). While location based methodologies can be subdivided into unit production and location production.
Activity based scheduling methodology was developed in 1950s. The planning is done in construction process by using network of activities in this
methodology.
Location based methodology is based on the tracking of the crews working at various production tasks. These techniques are adopted using various
graphical methods. This technique was used as a construction management system at the empire states building developed by goodyear company.
These techniques are widely adopted in continuous production facilities.it was considered that this methodology requires repetition of activities and
hence known as repetitive scheduling method (RSM).
While this method is more concerned about movement o resources through various locations and activities need not to be repetitive for adoption of this
method. So rather than repetition this methodology concentrates on tasks which are aggregated activities over various locations.

start to know their new colleague. Storming: conflict due to working styles. Norming: Team members solve conflicts and commitment to team and
