3. I have learned a lot from my audience feedback as I
received constructive criticism concerning my work.
When asked to describe the overall effect of the
photography for my main task, thing such as: did the
lighting add any effect? and were the images clear?
The audience replied with “really clear what the
magazine is about” and “the reader knows what to
expect just by looking at the front cover.” There was
also “nicely framed image with lots of colours that
immediately gains your attention.” This has really
helped me because I now think that I have
succeeded because if my target audience thinks that
the magazine front cover was good then I have
succeeded in my attempt at producing a regional
magazine. After looking at the audience feedback,
not only did it make me feel more confident in my
work but I also know that if I had to do the same
thing again, I easily could.
Another question was to explain what the audience
thought about the selection of fonts and the
audience said that they thought it was “a nice size of
text and clear to read” another thing they said was
that “it could be of a different colour as some of it
does not stand out very much” and when looking at
the contents page the audience said that they “really
liked the use of red on the contents page to
emphasise the important info.”
The third question regarding audience feedback
about what they thought of the overall composition
of the product, which include sub questions such as,
is it balanced? And it there enough/too much
information? The answer to these questions was
“nice amount of text” and “it tells you exactly what to
expect on the inside of the magazine” and even “I
really like the headline and summary of the article”
and the last piece of feedback for this question was
that it “looks really neat” This feedback has helped
me a lot because from what my target audience has
said, I can now learn from this and if I have to do it
again, I could use the comments to recreate
something like this because if the amount of text is
enough and the headline as well as the summary of
the article look neat, it means that next time I could
just remember the current layout and feedback to
create another magazine front cover.

5. The question ‘do you think the narrative of the
product contains a clear message?’ has quite a
good response from the audience because
answers like “yes, you could clearly tell that it
was a regional music magazine from the
elements that were included on the front
cover” and another comment was “it sends a
clear message that it appeals to the chosen
target audience and they would want to buy it.”
These comments have helps immensely
because I know that the right features have to
be included if the product is to be and appear
whole to the target audience. If something is
missing, it would affect the product and the
message of who the product is targeting would
not be clear and people would get confused.
The last question about the representations of
people in my product and if it will appeal to my
target audience as well as if would anyone be
offended by the way the product is
represented? The answers were “it would
appeal to the target audience” and “It’s easy to
read and it is interesting,” this proves that most
of the target audience was quite pleased with
the result of my regional magazine front cover.
Another answer was “as there were no people
represented, and everything about the
magazine tries to include everyone as music is
something that most of people will be able to
relate to and there is not chance that anyone
will be offended by anything in the magazine.”
7. For my ancillary product, the billboard that I
made was also seen by others from my target
audience to get feedback from them. The first
thing they were asked to do was to describe the
overall effect of the photography and this
included things such as ‘what mood was
created?’ and ‘how ‘tack sharp’ are the
images?’ The responses I received were honest
and I appreciated them because that proves
that my target audience is helping me make
something better for them in order for them to
appreciate it even more. One of the responses I
received was that ‘the images could be sharper,
however the mood created clearly presents the
musicality of the magazine’ another comment
was that ‘the lighting could define the drums
more’ and the last comment was that ‘the left
drum and shaker are cut out of the frame but
this is very minor.’ I liked that the audience was
honest about the feedback they were giving me
because that means that I can then do some
adjustments to improve on the quality of my
ancillary product.
The second thing they were asked to do was to
explain what they thought about the selection
of fonts. For this, I also got some good feedback
as well as good suggestion for what they
thought would be best. One of the comments
was that ‘the fonts were good but the colour
should be consistent’ and the other comment I
received suggested that I choose the colour
black instead as it would stand out more against
the other colours on the billboard. This has
helped me because I was hesitating with the
black as I thought it wouldn’t be unique enough,
so I went with another colour but if my target
audience thinks that black would be best then I
will have to make some improvements to make
it better.
8. The third question on the list was to explain
what they thought about the overall
composition of the product. Things to think
about included if the product was ‘balanced’
and if ‘there was enough/too much information’
and lastly it was if ‘the composition grasped the
attention of the audience’ This has help it
helped me a lot I then knew that the amount of
information I had on my product was enough
and my target audience appreciated it.
The fourth question was about if the narrative
of the product contained a clear message. The
response I got from the feedback was that it
was ‘good and gives the message to buy the
product’ This has also helped because if
everything I am doing is right and it sends a
clear message to my target audience then it
means that if I were to do it next time, I would
do it exactly the same way so that it sends the
same clear message across.
The last question from the audience feedback
was if they thought the representations of
people and events-and if they are fair or not.
The audience answered was that ‘the music was
represented well on the magazine’ This
feedback has helped because if the music
magazine I have created represented music well
than I think that I could do it again for
something else next time that I do something
similar.
