4. Mission Statement Mission Statement of NEHS This is a shot of the front of the Vocational Building, in which the main office and the media center are housed. To provide a high quality education for all Northeast High School students in a safe and comfortable environment, and to make use of all human and technological resources in preparing graduates for post-high school objectives.
6. The goals of Northeast High are as follows: 1. To provide an instructional program that meets the needs of our student population with high expectations for all students. 2. To provide an orderly, safe learning environment. 3. To work cooperatively with parents and other community agencies to further enhance our educational program. 4. 11. The media center is divided by the tables and computers that sit in the middle. As you enter the media center from the main office side, the fiction books are on the left and the non-fiction books are on the far right of the media center. At the rear of the media center is the conference room, the technology specialist office and master control room. There are also a few more student computers. Overview

13. The circulation desk has 2 computers that are mainly for teacher and LMS and LMC use. The LMS and LMC offices are located behind the circulation desk, as seen in the picture. Circulation Desk
14. Non-Fiction & Fiction Sections In this picture are the fiction books and bibliography books. The whole wall are all fiction books. The 3 rows of shelves are filled with bibliographies. In this picture are the non-fiction books in the media center. There are 5 shelves of non-fiction books and a whole wall shelf.
15. Conference Room/ Master Control Media Production Room-R Tech Specialist Office (L) Conference Room is along this same wall and is to the left of the Tech Spec. Office Media Production Room(R): This room is located in the rear of the media center, it is responsible for getting the school announcements to be shown school wide everyday. Tech Specialist Office: The Tech Specialist is here everyday of the week except Thursdays. More student computers are shown here as well. There are actually 8 more computers along this one wall.

18. This room stores old VHS tapes, overhead projectors and other media that is currently not in use anymore. Located behind the circulation desk. Media Equipment Storage
19. For students use to read or do work. Located in the rear of the library. Has a mural of jungle animals on the far wall. Used for conferences among students and teacher. Ex: Department Meetings. 21. No students are allowed in the media center before 7:30am daily. Hours: 7:30a-2:45pm Monday-Friday Students MUST have a pass and school identification before using a computer or checking out a book. Students are only allowed to check out 2 books at one time. Printing in color or black and white is FREE of charge. No Food or Drink allowed in the media center. Students must adhere to the policies of Northeast HS and the Bibb Co. 22. Must sign out equipment borrowed from the media center. Must book the computer lab or mobile lab 2-3 days in advance. Must be monitoring students at all time if teacher has a class in the media center. Must see media specialist before scheduling a meeting. Meeting must be related to school affairs. 28. My revisions to the current facilities would be: Put new paint on the walls. Make the paint a bit brighter like red with murals of an window, open doors, and a man and woman raider (school mascot) with a book, reading drawn on the walls. Add a makeshift fireplace in the Comfort Zone area to have a very homelike feel. Have ALL of the student computer screens turned to where the media specialist can see the screens from the circulation desk, that way students can be monitored more closely. Students can break through the proxy server and get to sites that are supposed to be blocked. Get new student computers. (flat screens) Revisions

Additions + Charge students for printing. 10 cents a page in color; 5 cents for a black & white page. + Students caught using cell phones will be asked to leave the media center. + Ban students from using media center until further notice for breaking through the proxy server to get to blocked websites.
