2. IPC Media is the largest distribution company
within the UK.
NME is published by IPC.
Bauer Media publishes music magazines such
as Q and Kerrang!
Both companies publish a range of genres for
their magazines from Woman’s Weekly’s to
Film.

3. Bauer publish both Kerrang! and Q
weekly/monthly, Q has a similar target audience
to mine so Bauer could potentially be a good
publisher.
As they already have a similar magazine this
could cause implications for my magazine
reaching the mainstream but it could also act as
a platform.
As my magazine is published fortnightly opposed
to monthly like Q! it fills a gap in the market.
Bauer is a German company and as an alternative
music magazine I would like to stick to typical
British roots.

4. Distribution is the final part of the creation
and selling of a magazine. One the magazine
has been produced they will look for
someone to distribute the media product.
As well as looking at stores like WHSmith to
sell their product they look and promoting
the product.
As my demographic is very internet
orientated they may look at promoting the
magazine online, on sites popular with my
demographic like Tumblr.

5. I think it would be best for Bauer Media to
publish my product as it has a ready made
audience that already enjoy similar music
magazines to mine like Q. When considering
distribution I feel my magazine would benefit
from being distributed in stores like WHSmith
along with independent music stores. It may
benefit from being distributed at music
festivals like 2000 Trees and Reading that
have a similar target audience.
