With respect to Europe Harley could expand the presence of its HOG club as well as begin to offer
lines of motorcycles geared toward European tastes that are lighter weight, smaller, and faster. They
have already shown signs of doing this with the purchase MV Augusta Group in 2008. For the
nation of Japan Harley can expand its local distribution network and subsidiary. An introduction of
the HOG club there may also boost interest in the brand. The company can also focus on cutting
production costs and offering their motorcycles at lower prices to compete with the local Japanese
brands that are considerably cheaper. It would also be wise for Harley to maintain its path of
lowering its greenhouse gas emissions and carbon footprint to appease the Japanese government and

Question 4 Harley can compete against firms such as Lifan and Zongshen in a few ways. In one
regard Harley can stick to its core business of heavyweight bikes and attempt to rely on its brand
name and history to attract customers. These bikes would be more expensive and Harley probably

Organized Crime: Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs
Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs roots began post World War II. These gangs have been classified as an
organized crime affiliate due to the ongoing illegal activities they engage in for profit. I chose this
topic because I have always been interested in these groups coincidentally, people I know through
the military surprisingly have ties to biker gangs, despite the fact it is not authorized. Furthermore, a
number of members are veterans, which makes sense due to a lot of these "clubs" establishing

I postulate this is due to the fascination with being part of such a well–known organization
furthermore, the brotherhood aspect. Biker gangs celebrate the freedom of life and the
nonconformity of conventional culture. This all sounds like an ideal situation, but in reality, Outlaw
Motorcycle Gangs have a notorious representation of being violent and causing fear in communities.
With law enforcement identifying them as an organized crime association, I believe it helps
tremendously with sentencing members to prison longer ultimately than a street level gang member

As this was the first assignment we had to complete for the SMA class, we felt the need to put some
additional information on top of the Internal Analysis. The purpose of this report is to give an insight

market. For this reason they do not produce scooters, mopeds or motorcycles with engine

games' stereotype had become a practice unconsciously accepted by people from every culture. To
this day, gamers are still placed at the bottom of the ladder being the worthless one, receiving labels
that do not describe who they are as a person, but criticizing what they like to do. However, as our
society moved forward with technology and better understands, video games have proven to be
outweighed any criticism out there with its benefits for individual and society. (which all dated back

Games originally created a world in which players freely becomes what they want by working hard
enough. It is unlike any real world situation as they require no social status from you and based
purely on the brain's talent. This gives rise to a lot of people from different places around the

Who knew that in 1948 in Fontana that the small motorcycle club being formed would become one
of the most recognized motorcycle clubs in the United States today. By the 1950s, the reputation of
the Angels has roared out in front of all other gangs. Although infamous, there hadn't been much
organization in the group, until Ralph Sonny Barger started the Oakland Chapter in 1954. Ever since

during bar fights or drunken brawls. The event that proved all took place on Dec. 6, 1969, when the
Hells Angels were hired as security for a Rolling Stones concert at Altamont Speedway outside of

anything. When interviewed Ronnie said that being in a biker group that goes around helping people
is the most self fulfilling part of bike riding, but he also says that people do in fact judge him

Is The Outlaws A Motorcycle Club Born?
The Outlaws are a Motorcycle Club born in a tiny bar in Illinois many years back. They were
notorious for being the "Robin Hood" of organized crimes in the 1960's and 70's. Known to be
defiant to law and true to their word, but most importantly they are part of my family. Men known to
be "fast–driving and hard living" are also the same men who I call grandpa, uncles, and cousins. The
same rough men who took me to church every Sunday and never forgot a birthday. As it goes for
many motorcycle affiliations, the stereotypes caused by the media and past bad seeds of the Clubs,
tend to bring a very negative cloud in the eyes of society. However, the media never covers the vast
charity work, undeniable brotherhood, and responsibility to the community that comes with wearing
the hand–painted skull and cross pistons.
To be publicly recognized as an Outlaw was only a small portion of the pride and self–identification
that came with being a member. As discussed by Martha Sims in the textbook Living Folklore,
"Sometimes, we choose groups that express the identity we want to create for ourselves, rather than
find groups that express the identity (or perhaps, identities) we already have." Most of the men
belonging to this group were looking to escape being considered a compliant member of society.
Being compliant to society, per my Grandpa Moose, was a public statement that you were okay with

follows: * Maintain the current pricing model so as to not diminish the brand by looking like a
cheap version of previous Cruiser Thorr motorcycles sold * Publicize the motorcycle by promoting
it in Hollywood films that could portray the cool, fee lifestyle of owning the motorcycle would be

Results
Overall the results of my simulation were not bad and I had correctly interpreted the data for two of
the parameters but fell short on two of them. To look a little closer at each of the categories here is a
summary of how they measured up: * Lifestyle Image – was initially high and still is to many
customers so assigning it ten was appropriate and in line with the customers perception * Quality
Engineering – was higher than the value I assign which was a six but should have been rated closer

SUBJECT: Discipline of Officer Sporty
This memo presents my review of the multiple incidents involving Officer Sporty's alleged
involvement with the Hell's Angels Motorcycle Club. Officer Sporty has been employed with the
Saint Leo University Police Department since 1991. During his tenure with our department Officer
Sporty has been disciplined multiple times for various minor violations of department polices. There
have also been several allegations made by other officers that Officer Sporty is involved with Hell's
Angels Motorcycle Club.

In his letter of disciplinary action Lieutenant Dangle stated that if Officer Sporty engaged in similar
conduct, "progressive discipline may be utilized and kept on file so the department may take adverse
action against you based on the incident cited in this documentation as well as any further
incidents."
On 03/21/2011, Officer Sporty wrote a rebuttal, stating that he and his wife were out riding their
motorcycle when they encountered the Hell's Angles Motorcycle Club. He stated he did not
participate in the event, was not dressed in motorcycle gear, did not associate with Hell's Angles
Motorcycle Club members, and did not identify himself as an SLU officer during encounters with
the club.
On 04/21/2011, Officer Sporty was again observed at bar where the Hell's Angels Motorcycle Club
was present. Officer Sporty denied the allegations again stating he was not part of the Motorcycle
Club. Officer Sporty received a Letter of Discipline and the chain of command has recommended

Saint Leo University Police Department Operation Directive 1068.00 CODE OF CONDUCT states:
A. Conduct of an employee, whether on or off duty, may reflect directly upon the Office. It is,
therefore, the policy of the department to require all employees to conduct themselves in a manner
that does not bring discredit to the Agency.
B. All employees will abide by the SLUD code of ethics.

As we can see, Harley Davidson targets a wide variety of consumers. It is therefore primordial that
they have an excellent marketing strategy in order to be able to appeal to all their targeted groups.
As you can see on Figure 7, (See Appendix) today the majority of the company's sales are based in
the USA however Harley Davidson believes that by 2014, 40% of their retail sales will occur

Beals realized the big necessity to implement Japanese techniques & programs in production for
better quality products.
Giving more responsibility to workers at these facilities gave a high value for Quality before
Quantity.
Employee involvement was a key issue in product improvement because the line workers knew
much better than management what was right or wrong with the production, their contribution to
decision making became vital issue.
Quality Circles as mentioned above was the key to success for better involvement of employees
with management & better setting of goals related to qualified products.
Also MAN (Materials –As – Needed) program was expected to improve the quality because lower

Stereotypes Against The Biker Community
There is a certain freedom that comes with riding down a long highway at eighty miles per hour on a
Harley Davidson. That kind of freedom is something that only a minority of society chooses to
indulge in, while another minority looks down upon them and chastises them for their decisions.
"All bikers are bad news and the scum of society" they say as they sit in their easy chair reading

Organizations such as the Patriot Guard Riders attend fallen veterans funerals and other public
national events. Even the outlaw motorcycle clubs such as the Hells Angels put on toy runs and
charity runs for children, along with fundraisers for their communities. Most people are even
ignorant to the fact that there exist many Christian motorcycle clubs, in which members are brought
together through a love and devotion to God. One could argue that organizations and clubs do this
simply to cover up their criminal activities, but I would argue that the biker community doesn't care
at all what the public thinks of them. That is the mentality of a biker, thus they would have no need

I went into this book expecting it to be a mix of Sons of Anarchy and Katie McGarry's other books
like Pushing the Limits – and I can honestly tell you that she blew my expectations out of the water.
Yes, it still reminded me of Sons of Anarchy and now I have a huge urge to binge watch it all on
Netflix – but it was so much more than that, too.
The idea about a motorcycle club being featured in a book is quite fresh, since I have never read any
book about motorcycle gang. Additionally, it's not everyday that you stumble upon a book where
such themes are portrayed through the story – especially when intended towards a younger audience

They fought against it as much as they could. For many reasons, they shouldn't be together. The
most important of those reasons would be their families. Their relationship could ruin Oz's chance of
becoming part of the club, which was his only dream in life. It was his entire future. And all of a
sudden these feelings for Emily were interfering with it. I simply adored their friendship, and I loved
the sexual tension between the two. As with all of Katie McGarry's couples, it's nearly impossible
not to route for them. Entirely different people, yet so good together – it's a talent.
I loved the emphasis on family in this book. From Emily's parents (mother, adoptive father and
