They are not realizing the full return on investment due to poor user adoption. Instead of getting excited about updated software employees get frustrated that things have changed on their computer screens.
Many times IT Departments aren’t able to properly communicate to end users what the benefits are of new or updates systems. If the users don’t understand the value they are getting they will likely be resistant to change. I often see a gap between IT departments and business units. The business units are crying after modern functionality to do better serve their customers and the IT department are working diligently to build secure, scalable infrastructure that will support the business. Often they want the same thing but have a hard time communicating with each other.
Time is money. Employees today are too stressed and honestly too bored to attend traditional training sessions. It’s very hard and costly for organizations to plan and execute training sessions that fit all attendees.
