other path, is the completion and practice a student puts forth for the understanding of the topic at hand. We create the sense of, why homework?
Previous research has helped show a usefulness of homework throughout our education system (e.g. Kenny, 2013; Marzano, 2007; Jorgenson, 2013;
Griffith, 2013; Dejka, 2014). While research has been conducted, there is never one concise choice that everyone can agree with. That is why the topic
of homework is of such high debate. The idea of homework, though, gives us the opportunity to expand our learning and preparing us for what lies

Homework was an essential feature of my own life whilst growing up. If memory serves me correct, the practice was always considered important
and was enforced throughout grade school by both my teachers and parents. I remember coming home from school in second grade and completing a
thick booklet of blank, squared pages that required me to print my numbers out from 1–1000. I sat at the kitchen table to complete it, with all seven of
my family members conversing around me, as I was a child that lacked an adequate place to study. Envy invaded my mind as my brothers and sisters
played joyfully around me, making it difficult to remain concentrated; nevertheless, I was forced to sit at the table until the booklet was completed.
Instances such as the one previously mentioned were a regular occurrence in my youth and negatively impacted my playtime, although my brothers and
sisters eventually joined me at the table to complete their own homework.
Completing homework was a necessity in my household, and failing to do so would result in harsh consequences. One particular instance of an
incomplete homework assignment stands out prominently in my memory. As I got older, my interests grew, but the amount of homework that I was
required to accomplish gradually increased as well. During my upper–level elementary years, I was absolutely obsessed with the Harry Potter series by
J.K. Rowling. In the final month of sixth grade I was assigned a year–end project to complete for English Language Arts. Unfortunately, the
assignment became a conflict of interest for me owing to the fact that the weekend that it was assigned was also the weekend in which I would be
acquiring the new Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix book at the pre–release event at midnight.
While at the bookstore with my mother, jumping with excitement might I add, she asked me if I had any homework to complete over the weekend
and explained to me that if I did, the book would have to wait until summer vacation arrived before I could begin reading it. Upon receiving this
information, I lied to my mother and told her that our teacher did not give any homework during the last week of school because I did not want the
book withheld from me until doing so. The

the past two years, I have experienced first hand that there is so much homework given out causing so much stress and lack of sleep. Students are
receiving too many extra assignments start to take a toll on the their life. As a student who plays three sports for two hours for five hours a day or
on game days where I go home at eight o'clock it is difficult to shower and change then do my homework. I'm not saying that a student athlete
should be pampered because they play sports, but every student should be given less altogether. As teachers excessive amounts of homework there is
limited time to finish work for another class or study for another class. Whenever students actually do the unnecessary work and turn it in, it doesn't
always get graded and it just causes stress on top of stress. Students are already not getting enough sleep with all six classes that they have. Yet
homework is great for students it is very helpful for students for their classes, but at the same time they have so much excessive work that they have

Every prosperous person has attained their goals via this privileged activity which has been practised for generations. Homework is beneficial for
children of all ages; to learn new strategies and theories. All schools give homework to enrich their students' learning and to prepare them for their soon
to be successful futures. Vehemently,homework is an essential requirement for children, adolescents or even adults! Generally speaking, according
to research (Cooper, Robinson & Patall, 2006), studies are showing us that academic achievement is improved in children who partake in some after
school work at home. Homework familiarises new concepts and encourages students to strive for their highest. It gives them a sense of responsibility
as they need to organise their time to fit all activities. In that way homework would only be a minor, every day routine. If students want to have a
privileged lifestyle, they need to do their homework. Having helpful homework here, is the key to victory, inviting us through a door to various

Essentially, homework is a beneficial component of life. Without it, there wouldn't be any jobs around as we wouldn't be intelligent enough to pass
the exams and courses needed to fill positions. Some people may be innately gifted, but the aces who are hungry to succeed, will excel higher.

Now I don't want to get off on a rant here, but school is giving us way too much homework and projects. We have only been in school for two
months and we have had at least two projects for every core class except math, and a final 8th grade project.
Everyday we wake up, go to school, and come home, easy right? No, everyday that we come home from school we have homework. Each class gives

honors math, we have to get more class work done in a shorter period of time, and more homework than everybody else. We tend towant to get good
grades in every class, average grades are not enough for us. We have to, and I mean have to, get at least a 6 and if not higher, if we get a grade

Imagine if you had three pages of homework in five of your classes, practice, a job, or any other extracurricular activity after school with no time to
do your homework at home. Adding a study skill at East Jordan Middle High School will provide students time to do their homework and allow them
to get help from a teacher. Without time to do theirhomework at school, most students just won't do it. Therefore, EJMHS must provide every student
with study skills, in order to allow students to catch up on their grades, manage their time, and relieve their stress from homework.
To begin, having study skills will provide more time at home for students. Having too much homework creates a barrier between students and their
parents. From personal experience, most students tend to do their homework in their room, usually not getting it done. If students are pushed to do

would be closer to their family and be able to enjoy family time.

As a high schooler, you get lots of homework which can easily cause you stress, but others like parents have another understanding of homework
because they think it gives their children something to do besides sitting and watching the television. Also teachers tend to give out homework for the
benefit of your learning skills or just of what you learned on that school day in general, which isn't always helpful. The harsh thing parents and teachers
don't realize is the agonizing pain and life consuming of having large amounts of homework which causes us to have negative consequences.
Heavy loads of homework can be shown more as harmful than good, not only for students but also for their families. As shown in Source B it says,

from my experience, stating that every time I come from school to home, I always have to go straight to my room, turn my computer on, and

whole day of my life. Another reason is it is very time consuming! These homeworks are always getting in my way of either having activities after
school or just time to spend with my family, which I hardly ever have a chance to do because of all the work I have, and might I also state that my
mom is always worrying about my health since I usually don't have time to eat too, also she is always asking me if I have time to read the bible
with my siblings and father, which I automatically have to state I can't because again of all this work. Another statement I have is how homework is
