Technology throughout the years has become more advance and has allowed for people around the world to stay connected, but has technology really
made it possible for society to interact with one another? With the use of technology, staying in touch with friends and family is easy. There are
numerous social media apps, such as, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, and Instagram that allow for such easy communication, however, the use of these
apps to "stay connected" is having the opposite effect and is leading to people feeling alone. Technology has made people feel more alone by causing
students to feel depressed or burned out from school, sleep deprivation, can lead to risks such as death or guilt, and causing those who use technology to
miss out on events and social gatherings.
To begin, technology has had negative effects in the behavior pattern of adolescents. There has been recent research done to study how technology has

Pastors need mentors, mentees, and true peers. I have enjoyed a long–standing relationship with two pastor colleagues both in very different places in
life and ministry. Yet, even from these different places, all three of us share some very basics understandings and needs as we strive to serve the

realise what I was doing was just making everything worse. I was just bottling up my emotions. Eventually I snapped during gym because I was so
sad and angry and people were just adding air to the balloon of anger until it eventually bust open and I lost it. People did not understand. I was made
fun of for it. I felt like nothing could help. I felt... alone.
Eventually I ended up breaking down because of all of it, during a summer play practice, In front of my friends nonetheless. I walked off and cried in
the bathroom because I did not want anyone see me. Eventually Sarah came by the entrance to the boy's bathroom. "Sean? You okay?" she asked with
a worried face.
"D– don't worry about it. I'm fine" I said, with a sniffle and a tear rolling down my cheek and dripping onto my shirt.

intimidating and as a result, find themselves challenged when trying to form new relationships. Teenagers tend to do most of their communicating
online. By communicating online, they escape having to face each other and have real conversations; thus, causing teenagers to have subpar

or seeing the effect that your words are having on the other person. because the conversation isn't happening in real time, each party can take more
time to consider a response. No wonder kids say calling someone on the phone is "too intense"–it requires more direct communication, and if you aren't
used to that it may well feel scary" (Ehmke). Only talking to one another on social media limits a teenagers social skills and ability to read each
other's body language in a face to face conversation. Young adults who don't learn how to effectively communicate in person will lack social skills in
the adult world. Amanda Ehmke, the author of How Social Media Affects Teenagers, also states, "If kids aren't getting enough practice relating to
people and getting their needs met in person and in real time, many of them will grow up to be adults who are anxious about our species' primary
means of communication–talking" (Ehmke). Young adults need to learn face to face conversation skills so that later in life they can talk to other

The Impact of Social Media in Teens Kids of all ages now in days are exposed to technology which scares us all. Although many parents worry that
their preschoolers or younger kids are being harmed by this kind of exposure, the kids most affected by technology now in days are teenagers or
adolescents. Social media has become so vital to teenagers; consequently, promoting anxiety, low self–esteem, depression, and an unexplainable
amount of cyber–bullying. While technology begins to increase, so does the use of social media among teens. Social media is becoming more than a
part of the world of teens it has become their entire world. Adolescents are spending hours online whether it's on Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, or
Twitter. And with the uprising of smart devices, the ability to "disconnect" is becoming harder. Author Sherry Turkle wrote a book called "Alone
Together" where she describes the impact that technology has had in relationships between friends, loved ones, parents and children. She states, "the
technology has become like a phantom limb, it is so much a part of them. These young people are among the first to grow up with an expectation of
continuous connection: always on, and always on them" (Turkle). Turkle explains the connection that these teenagers have with technology. She

Personal Narrative: A Career As A Football Team
This wasn't just your typical football practice before your first game, this was trying to get everyone hyped after a rather laid back Monday practice.
This was a more competitive practice than usual, trying to get everyone motivated for the first game against Clarksburg. Coach Song thought it would
be a good a time to divide everyone up into teams, Team Zuckerman and Team Johnson. The teams were named after our running back and myself,
who were voted team captains. In between drills we would have little competitions between both teams to try to bring a competitive edge for everyone

We get into the locker room and coaches running trying to adjust put us in a better position to try to come back and win thegame. And there I was calm,
cool and collected because for the first time in my football career, I wasn't getting yelled to make the adjustments. That didn't really feel like how I
thought it was going to be. We are about to go out back on the field, and I did my best Vince Lombardi impression and tried to give a speech to get
everyone minds back in the right place and get us back into the game. Basically, I said that everyone needed to calm and just go out and play. Not
trying to go out there force us back into the game, just everyone go out there and do their job and trust that everyone else will do theirs.
We go out there and play the second half better than we did the first. The final score was 26–6 in favor of Clarksburg, so if you only counted the
second half the game would have been 6–6. Ultimately the game, and the season as whole didn't go the way that I would've liked as we finished with
a 2–8 record, both of those wins came in after I returned in week six. It's not about how we did as a team but what I could learn from the season as
how to really work hard for others to get them in the right position and what it means to be a true

Sherry Turkle We as a community and generation have become dependent on technology. This is a controversial issue many find themselves on one
side or the other, although a "gray area" exists. Sherry Turkle, MIT professor, finds herself in this gray area yet, she is more lenient to dismissing
technology. She writes numerous articles such as: The Second Self: Computers and the Human Spirit (1984) and Alone Together (2011), in which she
says technology, primarily cell phones, are problematic to advancing culture. Turkle studied present technology for fifteen years, making her quite
knowledgeable on this subject. Turkle addresses technology in her essay The Flight from Conversation, but has many pros and cons to her reasoning.

during my research came when I brought one of these robots, designed in the shape of a baby seal, to an elder–care facility, and an older woman began
to talk to it about the loss of her child. The robot seemed to be looking into her eyes. It seemed to be following the conversation. The woman was
comforted"(51). In that situation, human bias would affect the woman's emotions negatively. Humans are free to judge her on said topic, the seal was

Strength Of Hostage Negotiation
One of my main strength that I have as they relate to hostage negotiation is being able to stay calm. Being able to stay calm in stressful situation is a
great quality to have, especially in hostage negotiations where lives are at stake. One way I could improve this quality is by taking slower breaths. In
stressful situation breathing slow and calmly is key to staying calm. The faster your respiration is the more anxiety you feel and in very stressful
