I am an innovative social sector strategist and educator with
over 20 years of diverse professional nonprofit experience
from San Diego to New York City. I play a crucial role in
fulfilling Candid’s mission of getting people the information
they need to do good by actively listening to community and
partner needs, contributing to the evolution of educational
offerings, and serving as brand ambassador and subject
matter expert, to ensure that Candid’s resources reach the
communities and people who need it the most. Before joining
Candid in 2020, I was a fundraiser, Executive Director,
philanthropy consultant and adjunct professor teaching
fundraising, nonprofit governance, and finance. I currently live
by the beach in South Florida and is am an avid roller skater
with a passion for making the world a better place.

1. Share gratitude year-round
• Schedule fun social media posts, emails or
send postcards thanking your supporters.
• Pull a list of lapsed donors that haven’t
contributed over the last year and include
them in your appreciation communications
year-round.
• Build regular check-ins with your donors,
either via phone or in-person, to share
updates about your work. Our Candid
development team aims to do this quarterly.

• If you don’t have a budget for
that it’s ok! This is more about
bringing folks together and

• Host a thank-a-thon in January
and invite board members,
volunteers and staff to be involved.
• In February or March send all
donors a 2023 donation receipt in
preparation for tax season.
• Email your 2023 annual report to
all donors and volunteers.
