The student was assigned a preliminary task to create the front cover and contents page of a school magazine as practice before designing an actual music magazine. This would help the student become more confident and able to explore different design options. Completing this practice task will allow the student to identify any mistakes made so they can be corrected in the real music magazine.
1. Preliminary Task – School
Magazine
In this preliminary task we were asked to create the front cover and the contents
page of a school magazine. We had to have at least one medium close up shot of
a student on the front cover of the magazine, including stories of what would be
in the magazine and also the name of the magazine (that we had to make up).
We were told to do this task as a practice one so that we would know the process
of making a magazine before starting our actual music magazine. This would help
us to be more confident in our decisions and being able to explore different ways
of making the magazine.
Doing this task will help me look at anything that I have done wrong after its
marked and then when making my music magazine I don’t make the same
mistakes.
