3. I have chosen the platform “Can students print wirelessly from multiple platforms”. I think it is
important for students to be able to print their finished products or ifthey need to printresources
that they need for an assignmentor project. Mostofthe schools that I have worked at though do
not allow this to be done. In fact, the studentcomputers do noteven have a print function. If they
want something printed, they have to ask the teacher to do it for them or getit done outside ofthe
school. This is notusually an option for my students because Iam in a very poor area oftown.
Many teachers are not always willing to print items for students though because we are given a
copy limitin our districtand they do not want to “waste” them on the student’s needs.
4. If students do nothave their own devices, Iwould letthem use one ofthe 3 studentdesktops that
are in my classroom or Iwould acquire the laptop cart for that day so that no one would be leftout
of the assignment. Also, depending on whatthe assignmentis that they are working on, I might
2. consider letting them share a friends device with them. I do notthink it is fair to punish a student
that cannot afford an electronic device or iftheir parent does notwant them to have one. Some
parents would like to keep an electronic device outoftheir child’s hand for as long as possible or
only allow them to use it in their presence.
5. When using electronic devices, Iwould prefer for students to use them on their own so that they
complete the assignmentand notplay on the devices instead. Ifit is a group or partner
assignmentthen I will allow them to us the devices according to the direction ofthe assignments.
6. I used Appolicious and Edtech Review to find apps for middle school social studies
students.
