3. The platform that we will utilize with our devices is IOS and Android. IOS and Android
products allow us to use all of the Office Suite programs such as Excel, Word, and
PowerPoint to collect data and type in mathematical formulas as we need to in order for
students to be academically successful in their math class.
4. Students who do not have their own device on the days that we use technology in the
classroom will be given one from the teacher’s collection of Chromebooks. My
classroom currently has 16 devices that students may use in order to achieve their
academic goals.
5. On the days selected for students to use the devices, they will work either individually, as
in the case that each student has a one-to-one device to use, or will work in partners to
complete tasks, in the case that there are not enough devices to go around. Students will
be grouped on various days by activities. Grouping may occur by academic level,
behavior, level of understanding, etc.
6. Some of the apps that we will use in the classroom are:
a. TenMarks
i. TenMarks allows the teacher to send students math activities based on the
Georgia Standards of Excellence in Mathematics. Students are graded and
are placed into ranks of either Red, Yellow, or Green based upon score.
b. BuzzMath
i. Similar to TenMarks, BuzzMath is a standards-based platform that allows
students to work on materials individually to learn at their own pace.
Teachers have the freedom to send students assignments as well over
content that they are struggling over or may need to remediation in.
c. Khan Academy
2. i. Khan Academy allows students to learn content through videos as well as
assess themselves through quizzes on the content.
d. ScootPad
i. ScootPad is a platform designed to meet students where they are through a
series of tests and quizzes that allow them to progress through content that
they are having issues with.
e. MyScript Calculator
i. MyScript Calculator allows students the freedom to free-write their math
problems on the comfort of their device screen to derive the answer. It
works great with problems that are particularly long and hard to write out
in various computer programs.
f. Mathway
i. Mathway allows students to use their phone to type in or take a photo of a
math problem and walks them through the steps to solve the problem.
