3. My front
cover follows
the normal
codes and
conventions
by having a
masthead
which is
centred at the
top and also
by having a
main cover
line and
secondary
cover lines
and banners.
The codes and
conventions of a
normal magazine is
also followed once
again by having a
main image where by
the cover lines
masthead barcodes
date lines and logo
placed over it.
I have also used a
continuous colour
scheme of red and
white. I kept the
coverlines quite
minimal but I used a
mix of text types for
sections of my
masthead and banners.
This enabled me to
keep a consistent
theme to my
magazine. I included
the college logo in the
corner to make it easily
identifiable to the
reader.

5. I have used a
conventions such
thumbnail
images, page
references, serif
subtitles and
number, san serif
page details and
once again repeated
date lines and a
masthead.
I also used different
colour text to make
the subtitles and
numbers on the
context page stand
out. I used a purple
for the page
numbers and a
contrast of white for
the page reference
text.
I have defied
conventions
by not
including a
contents title
as instead I
opted to use
the masthead
as most
magazines
tend to
include both.
I chose to do
this as I felt I
had made it
explicit to the
reader that it
was the
contents page
by using page
references,
text and
images.
