STANDARD STUDENTS
SUBJECT-CHEMISTRY
CHAPTER- STRUCTURE OF ATOM
1.J.J. THOMSON'S experiment model
purpose- instead of drawing it on the board the model makes better understanding like how
was it prepared and what materials were use for it to be done.
2. structure of atom model
purpose- this can be used for showing the orbits, electrons, protons , arrangement of
electrons and protons,etc.
CHAPTER- CHEMICAL REACTIONS AND THEIR TYPES
1. experiment for chemical reaction.
Purpose- to show what exactly is a chemical reaction or a chemical change.
2. chemical combination related experiments
induction can be followed here- 3 expts.
Purpose- easily understandable when seen and recognise the elements which take part in
chemical reaction aswell as the product formed.
3. chemical decomposition related experiments.
Purpose- same as above.
4. chemical displacement related experiments
purpose-same as mentioned in the chemical combination expts.
5. chemical double displacement related experiments
purpose-same as above
CHAPTER- CHEMICALS IN OUR DAILY LIFE-1
1. preparation of chlorine in laboratory
purpose- chlorine can also be prepared in the lab, students can describe the process easily if
it is done in the lab.
2. experiments to show properties of chlorine.
Purpose- pupil can list the physical properties of chlorine.
3. experiments showing chemical properties of chlorine
purpose- pupil recognise the reaction when expt is done.
4. preparation of sulphur dioxide in laboratory
purpose- one of the method can be learnt that how so2 is prepared in laboratory
5. experiment to show the physical properties of sulphur dioxide
purpose- students can list the physical properties of sulphur dioxide
6. experiment to show the property of sodium bicarbonate
purpose- the property of sodium bicarbonate can be shown using vinegar and sodium
bicarbonate.
7. experiments to show the propeerties of sodium bicarbonate
purpose- students can recognise the property of sodium bicarbonate
8. preparation of soap
purpose- students themselves can prepare if they are shown the process and learn the
reaction behind the process.
CHAPTER- CHEMICALS IN OUR DAILY LIFE -2
1. experiment showing the reaction of sodium with water
purpose- pupil can recognise that sodium is a highly reactive metal.so it is stored in kerosene.
2.experiment to show action of water on sodium nitrate.
Purpose- to show why does sodium nitrate becomes wet.
3. experiment to show the removal of hardness by washing soda
purpose- to show how to remove the hardness of water
4. experiment to show behaviour of soap with hard water and soft water
purpose- this help students to differentiate between the hard water and the soft water.
SUBJECT-BIOLOGY
CHAPTER- STUDY OF OUR ENVIRONMENT
1. activity for food chain
purpose- when activity is done the process of food chain can be understood easily.
2. A artificial set up can be made for Ecosystems
purpose- pupil recognise heterotrophs, autotrophs, herbivores etc.
CHAPTER-STUDY OF CELLS
1. models of plant cell and the animal cell
purpose- if it is done pupil recognises the various organells present in the cell.
2. showing cells in onion peel
purpose- live onion cells can be observed if there is microscope at the school.
3. experiment to demonstrate diffusion
purpose-to show the movement of moleculoes across the cells.
4. experiment to demonstrate omosis
purpose- movement of molecules across the plasma membrane of the cell.
5. 3d images of each organell
purpose- pupil can easily recognise the organeel when a plant cell or an animal cell is shown.
CHAPTER- WORLD OF MICROBES
1. taking curd sample and showing the bacteria
purpose- to show that microorganisms can be seen only through microscope.
2. models of bacteriophage and HIV
purpose- it helps in recognising the parts of the bacteria.
3. showing yeast cell under the microscope
purpose- compare between the diagram as well a the live seen yeast cell.
CHAPTER- FOOD AND ITS CONSTITUENTS
1.ppt Showing the constituents of food
purpose- to know the various constituents of food
2. simple tests for proteins, carbohydrates, lipids.
Purpose- to show the presence of vsrious constituents in the food
CHAPTER-DIGESTION AND RESPIRATION
1. experiment to show importance of carbondioxide in photosynthesis
purpose- pupil recognise carbon dioxide is essential for photosynthesis.
2. showing stomatal cell
pupose- to know the importance of stomata in the plant.
3. experiment to show that oxygen is released during photosynthesis.
Purpose- to show that plant produces oxygen.
4. digestive system and respiratory system models or videos
purpose- it is used to show the process of digestion and respiration in human beings.
CHAPTER-REPRODUCTION IN HIGHER PLANTS
1. live plant can be shown in the class
purpose- pupil can recognise the various parts of plants as well as the reproductive organ I.e
flower.
CHAPTER-FOOD PRODUCTION-SOIL AND WATER MANAGEMENT.
1. preparing vermi compost
purpose- students learn how to do the compost and make the use of it in their gardens.

CHAPTER-SYNTHETIC MATERIALS
1. heating the various plastic based materials
purpose- to show the thermoplastics and thermosetting plastics.
2. test to show biodegradle and non biodegradable substances
purpose- to draw inference that biodegradable decomposes where as non biodegradable
does not.
3. showing the raw materials required for the manufacture of cement
purpose- live materials shown because they come to know what exactly is been used in the
preparation of cement.
4. experiments to the properties of sodium carbonate
purpose- pupil list the various properties of sodium carbonate.
CHAPTER- CHEMICAL BOND
1. immersing iron nail in coppersulphate solution
purpose- to show the deposition of electrons on the iron nail
2. experiment to show conduction of electricity
purpose- to show hoe electrons take part in conduction of electricity.
3. experiment showing solubility of ionic compounds.
Purpose- to show that ionic compounds are soluble in water but not in organic solvents.
4. models can be made for various bonds.

purpose- to know various adultrants present in our food.
CHAPTER- CLASSIFICATION OF LIVING ORGANISMS
1. various specimens can be shown for various clasification
purpose- students come to know which organism belongs to which group.
CHAPTER-WORLD OF MICROBES
1. demonstration on sewage water treatment
purpose- to show how waste water is converted into clean water.
CHAPTER- EXCRETION IN ANIMALS
1. artificial dialysis
purpose- to show how dialysis is done in hospitals and how does the dialyser work.
CHAPTER-LIFE PROCESSES
1. demonstration showing transpiration
purpose- to show that plants breath
2. balsam plant experiment
purpose- to show the conduction of water in the plants.
3. germination of seeds
purpose- to say the stages of mitosis with the help of germinated seeds.
CHAPTER- EVOLUTION OF LIFE
1. preparation of fossil model
purpose- any kind of fossil fuels can be made if it is known.

CHAPTER-PERIODIC CLASSIFICATION OF ELEMENTS.
1. kalzium can be made used to show various elements in the periodic table
2. activities to find out the atomic mass,weight etc.
CHAPTER-SILICON
1. various materials of silicon can be shown lively
purpose- to get an idea that si in present in many of the known things.
CHAPTER- INDUSTRIAL INORGANIC CHEMISTRY
1. material used in manufacture of glass can be shown.
2. heating the glass
purpose- to show glass is a bad conductor of heat.
3. ceramic materials , and the process how they are made
purpose- students come to know how they are well decorated etc.
4. experiment to show why water in pots is cooler than bottles?
Purpose- to show them the porocity of the pots.
CHAPTER- CARBON AND ITS COMPOUNDS
1. simple experiments to show presence of carbon in various substances
purpose- to know that carbon is present many of the substance
CHAPTER- HYDRO CARBONS

purpose- this helps on showing hydrocarbons have characterstic smell in their vapour state.
2.model preparation for various hydrocarbons
purpose-helps students to know the no of carbon and hydrogen atoms.
3. preparation of methane in laboratory
purpose- to know how methane prepared in lab in small quantity.
CHAPTER-METALS
1. copper and nitric acid experiment
purpose- to show the reaction of concentrated nitric acid on metals.
2. blast furnace model or video can be shown
purpose- to know how the pure iron can be obtained.
3. extraction of alluminium
purpose- the process how the electrodes and anode adsorb the anions and cations.
4.electrolytic refining of copper
purpose- to know how pure copper can be obtained.

Purpose- easily understandable when seen and recognise the elements which take part in chemical reaction aswell as the product formed. 3. chemical decomposition related experiments. Purpose- same as above. 4. chemical displacement related experiments purpose-same as mentioned in the chemical combination expts. 5. chemical double displacement related experiments purpose-same as above CHAPTER- CHEMICALS IN OUR DAILY LIFE-1 1. preparation of chlorine in laboratory purpose- chlorine can also be prepared in the lab, students can describe the process easily if it is done in the lab. 2. experiments to show properties of chlorine.
