1. Introduction
Since1970, Muirshiel Country Park has been part of Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park which is situated in the River Calder Valley north of
Lochwinnoch. The park is an area of general natural beauty with beautiful landscapes and great scenic views but people are allowed to live and work
within the area. It may look remote but it has a purpose for human activity, as in the past the land has been used as a farm situated close to the current
entrance, for field sports such as grouse shooting and more recently for barytes mining. The mine closed in 1969, just before the opening of the country
park. (Clyde Muirshiel Park Authority [CMPA from now on], n.d.) The current use of the park is mainly recreational, with a small network of
footpaths for walkers, cyclists, and educational groups. Other land uses include forestry, field sports, and small–scale agriculture. For this assignment
we are imagining that a gold–bearing ore outcrops on Windy Hill just to the north of the country park.
The vein extends below the hill summit to an unknown depth and can be traced horizontally across the landscape for at least a kilometre on either
side of Windy Hill. The scope of this assignment is to identify and evaluate the environmental impacts of building a gold mining site in this area and
how this might affect the local geology, landscape, ecology,hydrology, and overall biodiversity.

significant fixed costs, for instance the pensions and healthcare costs, it has been difficult to do costs cut in a successful way. As a result, the total
costs of GM remain much higher than the one of its competitors. Wrong evaluation of customer needs Since 1980, GM has failed to respond to
customer preference and needs. This resulted in wrong focus on vehicle types in the U.S. market as customers preferred smaller, cheaper and more
efficient cars rather than the bigger vehicle that GM had to offer. However, GM's profit mainly relies on the sale of SUVs and trucks, which is no
more popular and this led to the decline of sales and revenues. In addition, GM's cars are less fuel efficient compared to its competitors such as Toyota
and Honda. This resulted in a decrease of GM sales in Asian and American markets. Furthermore, there is little differentiation among the vehicles
produced, so the various customer needs cannot be satisfied and it is more likely for customers to switch to other brands that have better design. 4

internal combustion engined railcar builder Electro–Motive Corporation and its engine supplier Winton Engine in 1930, renaming both as the General
Motors Electro–Motive Division. Over the next twenty years, diesel–powered locomotives – the majority built by GM – largely replaced other forms of
traction on American railroads. (During World War II, these engines were also important in American submarines and destroyer escorts.)
Electro–Motive was sold in early 2005. In 1935, the United Auto Workers labor union was formed, and in 1936 the UAW organized the Flint
Sit–Down Strike, which initially idled two key plants in Flint, but later spread to half–a–dozen other plants including Janesville, Wisconsin and Fort
Wayne, Indiana. In Flint, police attempted to enter the plant to arrest strikers, leading to violence; in other cities the plants were shuttered peacefully.

Holden's loneliness was a more concrete manifestation of his alienation. It is both a source of great pain and a source if his security. And so, Holden left school planning to spend some time on his own in New York City, where he lives. On the train to New York, Holden meets a mother of his fellow Pencey student. Though he thinks that this student is a complete "bastard", he tells a woman made–up stories about her son. He lied to the woman. But lying to others is also a kind of phoniness, right? A type of deception that indicates insensitivity or even cruelty. Holden proves that he is just guilty of phoniness as the people he criticizes. The Road of Trials When Holden arrives New York, he tried to call several people but for various reasons he decided against it. Holden doesn't seem to know what to do in New York since he is three days earlier as expected by his parents. So he rode a cab and he asked the cab driver where the ducks in Central Park go when the lagoon freezes, but his question annoys the driver.
