The Winning Kick
The Winning Kick In football, many games come down to the last wire to where many kickers seem
to succeed while many others often fail. Kickers seem to fail under various amounts of pressure due
to crowd noise, not good with pressure, or cannot seem to do their job so their team can count on
them at in point throughout the season. But in this game, my team and I would not take failing or
losing as an option. Waking up to my alarm sounding at early morning I really don't feel like getting
up as I try to sleep in as long as I can. With my dad calling my name from downstairs and constantly
calling me on my cell phone, I finally awake my lazy self to get in the shower. As I get ready that
morning excitement of a Friday rushes through ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A sigh of relief flows through my body as I see my first kick go through the uprights and it was a
great kick. With that kick being good my coach calls up the rest of the team to head back down to
the field house. Now as I sit in the field house, we receive a pregame speech that thrills all of the
players and our adrenaline shoots through the roof as we now get to walk back up the stadium to
play our game. Standing in the blow up tunnel as the band stands at the entrance of the run through,
they give the final note and we break through the entrance as our fans cheer on their boys. The game
seemed to progress faster and faster as we finally score a touchdown and the crowd goes wild. Now
it was my turn to add to the score I come out on the field for the extra point. The snap and hold are
good but I pull my body through too much and drill the side of the goal post. Right when the ball
sounded against the goal post my confidence seemed to drop lower than it has ever dropped before
as I miss my first extra point of the season. Running off the field my coach asked me what went
wrong and I told him I just pulled it and to my surprise he wasn't even mad at me as he knew my
nerves were up. The game continued to progress and before I knew it, it was already half time and
we were up by a touchdown. The third quarter seemed to go just as fast as the rest

Winning And Loosing By Paul Galdone
Winning and Loosing
Just like any other character developed by a child, nature and nurture are significant factors in
reading and writing habits.Research shows that attitude towards reading and writing cultivated early
can largely affect the ability of children to express themselves through writing. In most cases,
children'sfirst encounter with books is bedtime stories from their parents. My journey of reading and
writing was a rollercoaster. A story of battles, some won others lost.
The best memory I have of a book is reading andcomprehending the tale of The Three Little Pigs by
Paul Galdone. I gained insight about wisdom from the choices made by the three pigs. It was among
the first books I borrowed from our local library. For me, reading this book was similar to a hard–
earned dollar. The significance of this novel was freedom. Moreover, it was the first book the
librarian let me pick out for myself. The story was fascinating that I found myself acting it out alone.
Reading and writing was never easy for me. The fear of coming across a new word traumatized me.
My major worry was the inability to pronounce a new word especially in front of an audience.
Writing was not easy either and even the competition for reading and writing in my class was high.
The first time I was able to spell my name was the significant writing accomplishment mainly
because I had to write it thrice before I got it right.
My inspiration for reading and writing is my mother. She is an avid

The Influence Of Winning In America
America, the land of opportunity and the home of the athletic giant Nike, who has released an ad on
social media featuring Tiger Woods and his quote "Winning takes care of everything." The ad was
released in early 2013 when Woods regained the #1 world ranking in golf. The ad developed
controversy on Facebook and Twitter due to his infidelity scandal. It made people think that winning
does not take care of everything as one person responded on twitter by saying, "except for the
marriage & family u destroyed," and others saying that Nike had a poor choice of words. Nike's
rebuttal states that "Tiger has always says he competes to win," and that Woods' way of becoming
number one is to consistently win.
As a response to the quote "winning takes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is known as the land of opportunity. Everyone has a chance to be successful in America. America
is a capitalist country; although capitalism may be winning at creating economic growth, the poorer
people suffer. Some say that capitalism promotes equality, however most people that are born rich
have a head start. Those who start in poverty have to work harder just to make ends meet. A family
can't just get by on one job. If both the mother and the father have to work full time jobs, then there
will be no one to watch the kids. Sometimes people have to work multiple jobs just to get by. My
co–worker, Bill, works two jobs to support his wife and two kids, and he doesn't have much time to
see his family. Driven by greed, these companies continue to win without much consideration to the
poor. Although we live in one of the richest countries in the world, Wealth inequality in America is
worse than other developed countries (Zuesse).
The journey is better than the end. Michael LeMaitre, the man who didn't make it down the
mountain in "The Last Man Up" by Christopher Solomon, played his sport differently. He didn't
need to win to keep going. His journey was the adventure. He came in last place twice in the Iditaski
race and received two "red lantern" awards, once because he stopped to help a skier during the race.
He was always helping people. If more people were like this man this world would be a better place.
He may still be alive if others were like him (Solomon

The Winning Edge By Peter Doskoch
In the modern era we live in, all success and achievement is based off of overall grades from a
course or a test. The amount of people who simply get a good grade on their test without studying is
impeccable. On the other hand, there are students who work hard for their grade, but still end up
failing. It's the talent that the american education seeks in us. In the article "The Winning Edge", the
author Peter Doskoch states, "Grit has value for people at all levels of ability." Although achieving
academic accomplishment is important, one cannot really achieve anything without prospering grit.
The author states statistics, results from data, facts, and inspiration itself to get the world to notice
how important perseverance and grit is. If ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The concept of talent over perseverance has always been nailed into our heads. The value and work
some students put in their work is simply disregarded. For example, if someone who didn't study,
but received a good grade on an assignment and someone who worked all night, failed the
assignment wouldn't be recognized for displaying their grit and perseverance. They do not
understand that if not taught now about perseverance and grit then students will not understand how
the outside world works when they come out of school. If learned how to persevere in their work
then students would have a better chance of getting a better job in the future which would then make
them good money, better than an average paying job. Grit is a pathway to achievement and success,
because without it, talent would be no more than unachieved potential. If one does not do something
with grit then they would not be showing their full capability and just be credited for the work
they've written down, and not the work they've put in. The american system has taught the students
of our future to give up too easily. For example, in "The Winning Edge," it spoke about how after
seven years of working hard and trying to figure out the equational theorem, Andrew Wiles,
"Presented his completed proof of Fermat's Last Theorem." Wiles did something no one would've
expected a ordinary man like him to do. If given this

Troll Hunters
Play'n Go developed an intriguing adventure into the world of mythical with Troll Hunters. Troll
Hunters is not new to the mobile casino world, but has recently removed the exclusivity tag making
it available on multiple casinos. Players explore the mountainous abodes of these captivating
creatures of legend, searching for their stash of treasure along with a bevy of voluptuous vixens.
Visually Vibrant
Troll Hunters uses a 5 by 5 grid design, shifting around to the various places the trolls like to live.
Each of these places may house a host of troll treasures. Players are able to take on the image of
three scantily clad female warriors, each entrusted with hunting down the troll's booty. Finding a
little meat left on the bone by the trolls, or a skull cap overflowing with a belly full of grog, keeps a

There can be as many as 20 free drops, which lead to huge payouts. These do not happen all too
often, but when they do the jackpots are enormous. Splitting the game into two different rounds
gives players two separate pay tables to earn bonuses.
Troll Hunter Strategy
The strange way the game applies bonus payouts, leads to a rather unusual series of winning lines.
Betting strategy is important to keep in mind, since the scatter line concept is used to place the
bonuses. However, when the right combination of symbols align, players need to be ready to bump
the betting line, plus take advantage of any collected free spins.
When the three Nordic Lasses join forces, which is the time to ramp up the wagers. Keep a keen eye
for the situations where the blonde warrior takes the lead. She pays out slightly higher than either
the red head, or the bodacious brunette. Players need to watch for the wild symbol and combine that
with the blonde warrior, because if the grid nails 5 in a row, winnings are multiplied by 20 times the

The Importance Of Winning The Oscars Award
OscarsSoWhite
Every year, more than millions of audiences gather to watch The Oscars all over the world, which
stands the most authoritative awards of American film industry. Each award is based on the
Academy voting membership. The members of Academy are all of the excellent film artists who
active in the film area. Becoming the members needs to be sponsored by at least two Academy
members and passes the selection of Academy's Board of Governors carefully (Academy
Membership, 2015). Therefore, winning The Oscars award is a goal and achievement of each
filmmaker. The Oscars started in 1929 and has already held for 88 years. During this long history,
the race problem has always been mentioned. For this year, before the 88th Oscars, this ... Show

If people wanted black actor or actress to be mentioned on The Oscars every year, The Oscars will
have to add a special award for black people. Even though Rock's speech was trying to help The
Oscars wriggle out this awkward situation, it still can't end this arguing. The race problem has
existed in American film factory for a long time. In order to solve this problem, The Oscars should
not find any excuse to deny this problem. The imbalanced race members of A.M.P.A.S directly
cause that The Oscars voting tend to the white films. Meanwhile, the root of this problem comes
from Hollywood that doesn't give equality work opportunities to black people and doesn't pay as
much attention on black people films as whites'. In the long time, the authority of The Oscars will
lose.
The Oscars has successfully held more than 80 years that attributes the success to its professional
voting system whose voting members are all come from the outstanding film artists. However, the
authority of this more than 80 years film festival has been shaken recently because of this voting
system – the imbalanced race members of A.M.P.A.S make OscarsSoWhite. According to Driscoll

fan then seemed to drown everything out completely. I had to keep applauding with a dead smile on
my face holding back tears. I wanted to leave right then and there, but I still had to sit through at

The reason I didn't get any award could have been because of a mishap that happened with my

Should Children Participation Trophies Or Not?
There has been a debate on whether you should give your children participation trophies or not. In
my opinion I believe that kids need to be told that they did well but not necessarily giving them
trophies to represent they did a good job. The focus on giving out trophies every time someone does
well will start to become meaningless after a while and then soon they will realize that they didn't
really earn it, it was just an item to make them feel good about participating. When I first started in
sports it wasn't ever about winning, it was about exercising and having fun. I asked my mom if I
ever asked about getting any awards or if I got any. She did not remember a time but she did say I
was happy just running around and having fun. I've seen this in other children to when I refereed
them around the age of 4–6 years old playing soccer. Trophies became more of an issue when those
children decide to join clubs at ages 6–8. At that point those children wanted to know they did
something good to build their confidence and self–esteem. James Harrison (Pittsburg Stealers) a five
time pro bowl player says this when he saw the debate on giving out participation trophies, "While I
am very proud of my boys for everything they do and will encourage them till the day I die, these
trophies will be given back until they EARN a real trophy. I'm sorry I'm not sorry for believing that

Persuasive Essay On Winning The Lottery
Is winning a fortune really worth the possibility of losing everything? There are many different
forms of the lottery with prizes ranging from a couple of dollars to millions of dollars. Most people
though are more interested in the big prize worth millions, believing that if they were to win they
would be set for life. While winning the lottery can improve someone's life it can just as equally ruin
their life. After winning the lottery they need to be smart with their money. Within the first five
years of winning the lottery around 70% of the winners will file for bankruptcy, according to the
National Endowment for Financial Education. When people strike it rich they believe that they have
all the money in the world and begin to spend or give away money without a second thought They
feel the need to have the newest and best of everything to match their newfound social class. Kevin
Myeroff, a certified financial planner and CEO of NCA Financial in Mayfield Heights, says that
winners spend too much on depreciating assets such as cars, vacations and gifts. When winners
begin to gain popularity it attracts the attention of people who want to leech off the benefits of the
winner. Once they begin to give away money to family and friends it is hard for them to stop.

The English began their championship 1877, oldest of all four and even the world. They began

US Open is their experimentation of different court terrains, until finally settling with hard court like
the Australia Open. A tennis player or players might win one Slam but they must win all four to

struck by lightning than winning the lottery but I believe that people spend money on lottery tickets
because of the excitement, cost, and the potential. First off, playing the lottery brings excitement to

Most lottery tickets cost under five dollars with many tickets only costing one dollar. Having a low
cost drives people to play the lottery because it can be looked as a low risk high reward scenario.
Someone may purchase a one dollar ticket with the jackpot being one million dollars and think they
have a shot but also look at as if they don't win the person only lost a dollar. The only down effect to
having a low cost is that someone may go in to get one ticket and walk out with five or six because
the person felt that the price was so low why not gamble some more. Although the lottery is meeting
their goal and making a profit playing too much can put a person in financial difficulty because
people will start spending money they don't have on tickets. Even though a low cost has its
downside I feel that having the lottery available for a cheap price is great because it's nice to have
the lottery at a low risk high reward situation because it's fun to play every now and then and if
someone doesn't win they didn't lose much. In the end of things why not take a chance once in

Persuasive Essay On Winning Games
The thrill of winning a trophy for the first time is always memorable, however, it brings up the
question: Is receiving an award for participating just as exciting? Participation awards are a topic
highly debated among those of all ages, with none agreeing on a single answer. Individuals who are
under the impression that they are essential believe they boost a child's confidence and self–esteem.
This may be true in some cases, but these trophies could be doing more harm than good. Although in
the moment they may appear to be wholesome, they have a lasting effect on children as they grow
older. Many children put loads of effort into winning awards, which is belittled by participation
trophies that are not only unhelpful and unrewarding, but don't teach them the important values
learned by losing.
Of course, participation trophies take away from the true meaning of receiving an award and
enjoying the sport. " 'Her daughter rarely showed up for her soccer team. She had a terrible attitude,'
Dweck says. In spite of that, 'at the end she got a giant trophy and would have been devastated had
she not' " (Turner). Children who put no effort into the sport or activity they have joined still receive
an award for being a part of it. This is extremely unfair to those who actually worked hard to make
their team successful because it rewards the kids who were barely even engaged in the sport. "We

obsessed with winning. Winning, after all, isn't what makes someone the best at something. Sure,
Suzy could win the tennis match, but if she has no drive to repeat the action of winning again, what's
the point? One example of why the desire to win is best is found in the life of Albert Einstein. This
man didn't really excel in school, but he kept working and trying his hardest. In fact, he eventually
went to solve many of the great mysteries of physics. However, he didn't make his discoveries until
later in life. This shows that if one keeps working hard things will eventually work themselves out,
even if it takes. Another example of this principle can found in the life of Phiona. She learned to
play chess as a little girl in the slums of Uganda, and she eventually went on to become a chess
champion. She, however, wasn't always the best at chess. She lost the very first game she ever
played, and this loss sparked her desire to improve the game and to eventually win many matches.
She proves

Essay On Winning Culture In Africa
Kenyan Running: Building Winning Culture Beijing, 2008, the bell rings, signifying the last lap of
the olympic 10000m. By now seven athletes had separated themselves from the field, all of East
African origin. Kenenisa Bekele, holder of four world records today, stormed away over the final
400m to claim yet another gold medal. In this race, the six runners representing Kenya and Ethiopia
finished in the top seven overall. But this was not unusual. That part of the world had been
dominating everything from the half–mile to the marathon for nearly 30 years. Back in the 1950s
and 60s, nearly all of the top runners were Eastern European and now you never see any of them on
the podium. Now even the top runners from countries not in East ... Show more content on

A study done measuring these factors found that Kenyans superiority comes from using less oxygen
while running, and that the two groups actually had relatively similar VO2max values[5].
Unsurprisingly, the VO2max of active Kenyan children was found to be significantly higher than
that of sedentary children (62.0 vs 47.1)[5]. Not only this but Kenyan children and teens were
discovered to have remarkably high VO2max values when compared to that of children from other
parts of the world[5]. This is to be expected though as Kenyan children are generally far more active
than non–Kenyan children.[1][3][4][5] A study that looked at muscle–tendon interaction differences
between Kenyan and Japanese distance runners claimed that though this difference in efficiency
exists, it is not entirely responsible for Kenyans superiority in the sport[6]. This study found that
Kenyans have far longer achilles tendons when stretched which they claim causes "an enhanced
utilization of elastic strain energy and leads to improved running economy"[6]. They also discovered
that Kenyans were able to drive their legs not only faster than Japanese runners but also further
forward. Members of the Department of Kinesiology and Psychology at University of Texas at El
Paso furthered this find saying that in general "biomechanical factors may play a significant role in
the success of Kenyan distance runners"[7]. They found that

Children Need To Play, Not Compete, By Jessica Statsky
In "Children Need to Play, Not Compete." Jessica Statsky discusses a serious issue of competitive
sports that has now become a major part of the life of the young adult. She is of the opinion that
these competitive sport can have harmful effects on a child's mind. The immense physical pressure
is really harmful as well. The injuries due to these extreme sports can take a lot of time to heal
themselves. Statsky says that these competitive sports are designed keeping in mind the strength and
age of adult which deem them unfit for younger children. The children should not be forced to play
these sports. Jessica talks about the strain the sports but on the developing phase of a child's life both
mentally and physically. Due to the demanding nature of these sports, they start to feel like a job
rather than a leisure activity, says Jessica Statsky. Children should be able to enjoy the sport and not

In today's world, everyone is caught up in the idea of winning and forget that the main goal of sports
is to teach our children the concept of teamwork, sportsmanship, and collaboration. I believe the
most shocking factor is that the parents not only supports this kind of sports put push their children
towards it.
They completely ignore the issues their children will face later. The pressure they put on the children
is enormous and expect nothing less than the best. This affects their mental health when they fail to
meet up the expectation of the grownups. Jessica rightfully justifies it by giving an example of a
football match where the parents started quarreling over a game. I agree that due to all of the
children don't enjoy sports, instead, they are made to feel like it's some kind of job where they have
to prove themselves and perform according to other people's

Analysis Of Bingo : The Winning Musical
Before attending a theatrical performance, one would want to gather information about it first. They
would want to know who wrote it, a brief description, and if it is good. While attending the
performance, one becomes part of a temporary community to see if his or her research was accurate.
Afterwards, they may want to analyze the performance they saw. It all comes together for writing a
good review for the performance. Bingo: The Winning Musical is an Off–Broadway musical written
by Michael Heitzman and Ilene Reid, and the score was written by David Holcenberg. The musical
was written in 2005 and first produced in 2006. Their work had won them numerous awards

I've been experiencing live productions for my whole life. My relationship with the performers was
very strong. Usually, when I see a live production, I look for character development, change, and
believability. Bingo:The Winning Musical did not change what I look for in a play, but it did give
me a new experience for looking at musicals. The audience is a key factor for a performance, but the
actors and actresses are just as important since they put on the show. The actors were extremely
energized and compelling during the performance. One character in particular was Minnie, played
by Emma. Minnie is a character with a deep passion for bingo. She loves to be full of joy, the
audience, her job, friends, and other things. However, she can seem to have a darkside. For example,
when Sam, played by Brian, thought about waiting for Vern to show up for the early bird, Minnie
threatens that the audience would eat him if he did not. She also considers false bingos a serious
case, and demanded Vern to give the seat prize back to the winning audience member. That is how I
considered Minnie an energized and compelling character. With the actors energized and
compelling, they embodied their characters physically, vocally, and emotionally. The physical
gestures made the actors more active and mobile. Their vocals made the performance very
projective, and the musical numbers

Is America Winning The War Of Iraq?

December 16, 2014 Is America Winning the War in Iraq? "What a cruel thing is war: to separate and
destroy families and friends, and mar the purest joys and happiness God has granted us in this
world; to fill our hearts with hatred instead of love for our neighbors, and to devastate the fair face
of this beautiful world." Said Robert E. Lee. Who actually wins in war? In a sense, war is the killing
of our own brothers & sisters. The fact that war is used to resolve political issues is sickening. Our

Winning by Jack Welch
Winning by Jack Welch The book Winning by Jack Welch was written in 2004. It is a straight
forward book that goes into all aspects of running a business and becoming a successful leader. The
author was the CEO of General Electric for over 20 years. Welch retired in 2001 and spends his time
traveling around the world giving speeches, answering questions and giving advice about how to be
able to run a successful business. After a couple of years of touring and giving advice he decided to
put it down on paper and wrote the book Winning. Welch takes a look at every level of a business,
whether it is a large or small company, the philosophy and practices should be the same. The book is
divided into four sections. The first section is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

group of people is enormously valuable to any company; you simply cannot function without their

part of the first section talks about voice and dignity. It makes a point that people should be allowed
to express how they feel about things and not be penalized for it. "Some people have better ideas
than others; some are smarter or more experienced or more creative. But everyone should be heard
and respected." (p. 57)
Allowing people to voice their opinion could lead to a great new innovative idea that will be
profitable for the company. The second section of the book is called YOUR COMPANY and one of
the chapters discusses leadership. Welch has eight rules of what leaders do on page 63 of his book.
His eight rules are:
1. Leaders relentlessly upgrade their team, using every encounter as an opportunity to evaluate,
coach and build self–confidence.
2. Leaders make sure people not only see the vision, they live and breathe it.
3. Leaders get into everyone's skin, exuding positive energy and optimism.

Winning Freedom Persuasive Essay
Winning a trophy is something you only need to win once, but is winning freedom a one–time
victory? Winning freedom has and will always be a tough battle, and there will be people trying to
take away our freedom, especially in wars. The United States of America has been attacked by
multiple countries, with their intent to take away our freedom and to take our land as their own.
Overall, winning freedom is something that needs to be won more than once.
There have been many examples of other countries attempting to take the Americans' land and
freedom. "Paul Revere's Ride", a poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, is a poem about Paul
Revere's famous midnight run through many cities, warning the colonists about the British invasion.
This is evidence that the British were trying to attack the colonists. Paul Revere helped in the
American Revolution, by warning everyone about the British and he was able to help the colonists
in the war. Another example was on December 8th, 1941 when Japan bombed many areas, including
the United States. This started a war between the U.S. and Japan. Franklin D. Roosevelt sent a letter,
and in that letter, Roosevelt said, "...the American people in their righteous might will win through
to absolute victory." This quote means that the Americans will fight against Japan for their freedom.
This was another time when America fought for their freedom. One last example would be the letter
by John Adams called, "The Die is Cast", and in that letter, it

Personal Narrative Of Summer Swimming
"Get up now," My mom yelled down the hallway. "Hurry or you'll be late!" My brother and I
dreaded waking up early to swim, but we had chosen to commit. Even though I've competed every
year since first grade, I still struggled. That summer swimming taught me to have stamina, the
ability to not quit even though it was hard.
The first week is always the worst, and the whole team knows it. No one is in shape from being at
home doing nothing for the two weeks after school lets out. Especially since waking up early in the
summer is not entirely effortless.
"Regan," says Sam, our new head coach, pointing at me. "Lane five." Walking over to my lane, I
tried not to fall over with exhaustion. The coaches put you with people who they think swim your
pace, and generally lanes five and six are typically for the fastest swimmers. They worked about
double of what everyone else did, and they were expected to be the best. I definitely didn't think I
was one of those people, but apparently Sam did.
The water was an icy shock. It made my muscles tighten as I began my eight lap warm up. Focusing
on my arm movements, I struggle to keep up with the others in my lane.
"Come on guys! Get moving!" Sam yelled. "Regan focus on your kicks." she told me. Feeling the
looks of the others, not yet placed in lanes. I kept swimming. I skipped a flip turn to regain my
breath, but I'd known I would pay for it later because the coaches punished us for not doing stuff we
knew we should. At the end of practice

Is Football A Team For A Winning Percentage?
Every Sunday, football fans watch their favorite football teams duel on the gridiron to complete one
objective: win. The objective for every sport is to win, and there are specific traits that point to a
winning team. The most obvious way winning is defined is by how many points a team scores. A
team's winning percentage proves which team has more wins. However, to predict if a team will be
successful is a more difficult task. The goal of this study is to determine how significant third down
conversion percentage is to achieving a higher winning percentage. Our hypothesis is that the more
efficient a team is on third downs, the more likely the team will have a higher winning percentage.
The results of this study could be important for coaches so they can focus their practice time on third
down situations. This paper also gives football fans another way to look at how successful their team
will be through efficiency and appreciate their coaches and players that much more. Previous to this
paper, there has been limited research done on this topic. From what we found, there has only been
one study on third down conversion. The theoretical model in our paper denotes winning percentage
as the dependent variable, and we assume that all teams try to maximize win and efficiency. In order
to test our hypothesis in our empirical model, we chose eight variables and ran them in a regression.
The regression results showed a strong correlation between a team's third down

Consequences Of Winning The Lottery
Imagine winning the lottery right now, smiling while holding a big check for five–hundred million
dollars. Now imagine all of the things you could do with that money like buy a giraffe or a

come out like becoming broke from lack of responsibility (financially) or losing all of your friends.
When people win the lottery, people like to focus on the positive elements, but no one chooses to
look at the negative elements. Although there are many risks involved in winning the lottery, I
would still love to win. Because I would have many more opportunities,I could help many people in
need, and I would have the freedom to do whatever I please.

water to people in places where they don't have water. I could give food and shelter to those who
don't have it. A couple weeks ago, my family and I went on a trip to Dallas,Texas for a family
reunion and we stopped on this bridge and there was a homeless man standing with a sign. I saw the
man and I gave him $20 which was all the money in my purse because I felt that the man needed it

Lyall was an amateur naturalist studying the biological bounty. Wasn't this guy smart enough not to

cats. The flightless songbird would have not been extinct today if David would have not gone with

I do not agree with this article because the entire thing is bias towards cats. There are more cat pets
over dogs. Cats should have the freedom to be outdoors, not get blamed for the destruction of the
environment and more studies should be done on how cats are worthy rather than the immoral

When I first came into the recruiting in 1999 there were several recruiting incentives that recognized
a recruiter's performance and not just the recruiter's performance, but the performance at all levels,
recruiting station recognition, recruiting company recognition, recruiting battalion recognition and
so on. These recognitions once within doctrine took form in awards such as, the recruiter gold badge
of excellence, the recruiter ring, and culminated with those who truly became an expert in the skill
with the Glen E. Morrell award. In 2010 these types of award programs ended. Senior leaders
considered them ineffective goals to motivate soldiers to bring their A–game or their highest level of
performance. This was a point of time of great–success for the recruiting command, the economy
had fallen, the unemployment rate was hovering around ten percent, and the wars in Iraq and
Afghanistan seemed to be ending. Hence the idea that the recruiting mission had become easy and
these types of incentives where unnecessary. It was not just the incentives that went away, though
the recognition leaders verbally gave to subordinates when they did something stopped as well.

A Different Way At Scaffolding Safety Tips
A different way to look at scaffolding safety tips
My experience with League of legends and applying it to scaffolding
After completing high school, I found myself spending most of my time on the computer, mostly
playing games. One of my favorite games I spent the most time on was League of legends. Basically
there two teams that get to pick from a roster of over 100 champions to fight against each other in an
arena. The goal of the game is to take out the enemy teams nexus. Every game I try to avoid dying
to the enemy team by being as safe as possible. Safety is also very important in scaffolding.
Construction is a very hazardous industry with falls being the leading cause of death. Safety is very

Finding the balance is crucial to winning the game. Similarly construction projects in scaffolding
want to be completed in a respectable amount of time. Speed is usually important when it comes to
these construction projects, but the workers safety is even more important. Basically you want to get
the job done quickly, but with the least amount of risk to the workers. Kee Safety's Mike Mumau
said "the real issue is how do you build something in a fast, efficient way, and still be profitable
without putting the workers at risk." The balance between the two is important for construction
projects.
2. Organization – Teams in league of legends need to be organized during a match. A team that is
organized is more likely to win the game. Deaths can be avoiding if your team is positioned well on
the map. If you shouldn't be there in the first place, why would you go? A teammate that is alone on
a certain part of the map and isn't doing anything that will help the team shouldn't be there. Usually
not being grouped with your team will lead to an easy kill for the enemy team. You want to be in the
right places at the right times. It is generally safer when you are with your team instead of being
alone. Organization is also important in the workplace of scaffolding. The highest amount of safety
violations happen because of slips, trips, and falls. It can be avoiding with worksite organization.

The Winning Kick

  • 1. The Winning Kick The Winning Kick In football, many games come down to the last wire to where many kickers seem to succeed while many others often fail. Kickers seem to fail under various amounts of pressure due to crowd noise, not good with pressure, or cannot seem to do their job so their team can count on them at in point throughout the season. But in this game, my team and I would not take failing or losing as an option. Waking up to my alarm sounding at early morning I really don't feel like getting up as I try to sleep in as long as I can. With my dad calling my name from downstairs and constantly calling me on my cell phone, I finally awake my lazy self to get in the shower. As I get ready that morning excitement of a Friday rushes through ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A sigh of relief flows through my body as I see my first kick go through the uprights and it was a great kick. With that kick being good my coach calls up the rest of the team to head back down to the field house. Now as I sit in the field house, we receive a pregame speech that thrills all of the players and our adrenaline shoots through the roof as we now get to walk back up the stadium to play our game. Standing in the blow up tunnel as the band stands at the entrance of the run through, they give the final note and we break through the entrance as our fans cheer on their boys. The game seemed to progress faster and faster as we finally score a touchdown and the crowd goes wild. Now it was my turn to add to the score I come out on the field for the extra point. The snap and hold are good but I pull my body through too much and drill the side of the goal post. Right when the ball sounded against the goal post my confidence seemed to drop lower than it has ever dropped before as I miss my first extra point of the season. Running off the field my coach asked me what went wrong and I told him I just pulled it and to my surprise he wasn't even mad at me as he knew my nerves were up. The game continued to progress and before I knew it, it was already half time and we were up by a touchdown. The third quarter seemed to go just as fast as the rest ... • 3. Winning And Loosing By Paul Galdone Winning and Loosing Just like any other character developed by a child, nature and nurture are significant factors in reading and writing habits.Research shows that attitude towards reading and writing cultivated early can largely affect the ability of children to express themselves through writing. In most cases, children'sfirst encounter with books is bedtime stories from their parents. My journey of reading and writing was a rollercoaster. A story of battles, some won others lost. The best memory I have of a book is reading andcomprehending the tale of The Three Little Pigs by Paul Galdone. I gained insight about wisdom from the choices made by the three pigs. It was among the first books I borrowed from our local library. For me, reading this book was similar to a hard– earned dollar. The significance of this novel was freedom. Moreover, it was the first book the librarian let me pick out for myself. The story was fascinating that I found myself acting it out alone. Reading and writing was never easy for me. The fear of coming across a new word traumatized me. My major worry was the inability to pronounce a new word especially in front of an audience. Writing was not easy either and even the competition for reading and writing in my class was high. The first time I was able to spell my name was the significant writing accomplishment mainly because I had to write it thrice before I got it right. My inspiration for reading and writing is my mother. She is an avid ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. The Influence Of Winning In America America, the land of opportunity and the home of the athletic giant Nike, who has released an ad on social media featuring Tiger Woods and his quote "Winning takes care of everything." The ad was released in early 2013 when Woods regained the #1 world ranking in golf. The ad developed controversy on Facebook and Twitter due to his infidelity scandal. It made people think that winning does not take care of everything as one person responded on twitter by saying, "except for the marriage & family u destroyed," and others saying that Nike had a poor choice of words. Nike's rebuttal states that "Tiger has always says he competes to win," and that Woods' way of becoming number one is to consistently win. As a response to the quote "winning takes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is known as the land of opportunity. Everyone has a chance to be successful in America. America is a capitalist country; although capitalism may be winning at creating economic growth, the poorer people suffer. Some say that capitalism promotes equality, however most people that are born rich have a head start. Those who start in poverty have to work harder just to make ends meet. A family can't just get by on one job. If both the mother and the father have to work full time jobs, then there will be no one to watch the kids. Sometimes people have to work multiple jobs just to get by. My co–worker, Bill, works two jobs to support his wife and two kids, and he doesn't have much time to see his family. Driven by greed, these companies continue to win without much consideration to the poor. Although we live in one of the richest countries in the world, Wealth inequality in America is worse than other developed countries (Zuesse). The journey is better than the end. Michael LeMaitre, the man who didn't make it down the mountain in "The Last Man Up" by Christopher Solomon, played his sport differently. He didn't need to win to keep going. His journey was the adventure. He came in last place twice in the Iditaski race and received two "red lantern" awards, once because he stopped to help a skier during the race. He was always helping people. If more people were like this man this world would be a better place. He may still be alive if others were like him (Solomon ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. The Winning Edge By Peter Doskoch In the modern era we live in, all success and achievement is based off of overall grades from a course or a test. The amount of people who simply get a good grade on their test without studying is impeccable. On the other hand, there are students who work hard for their grade, but still end up failing. It's the talent that the american education seeks in us. In the article "The Winning Edge", the author Peter Doskoch states, "Grit has value for people at all levels of ability." Although achieving academic accomplishment is important, one cannot really achieve anything without prospering grit. The author states statistics, results from data, facts, and inspiration itself to get the world to notice how important perseverance and grit is. If ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The concept of talent over perseverance has always been nailed into our heads. The value and work some students put in their work is simply disregarded. For example, if someone who didn't study, but received a good grade on an assignment and someone who worked all night, failed the assignment wouldn't be recognized for displaying their grit and perseverance. They do not understand that if not taught now about perseverance and grit then students will not understand how the outside world works when they come out of school. If learned how to persevere in their work then students would have a better chance of getting a better job in the future which would then make them good money, better than an average paying job. Grit is a pathway to achievement and success, because without it, talent would be no more than unachieved potential. If one does not do something with grit then they would not be showing their full capability and just be credited for the work they've written down, and not the work they've put in. The american system has taught the students of our future to give up too easily. For example, in "The Winning Edge," it spoke about how after seven years of working hard and trying to figure out the equational theorem, Andrew Wiles, "Presented his completed proof of Fermat's Last Theorem." Wiles did something no one would've expected a ordinary man like him to do. If given this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Splitting the game into two different rounds gives players two separate pay tables to earn bonuses. Troll Hunter Strategy The strange way the game applies bonus payouts, leads to a rather unusual series of winning lines. Betting strategy is important to keep in mind, since the scatter line concept is used to place the bonuses. However, when the right combination of symbols align, players need to be ready to bump the betting line, plus take advantage of any collected free spins. When the three Nordic Lasses join forces, which is the time to ramp up the wagers. Keep a keen eye for the situations where the blonde warrior takes the lead. The Importance Of Winning The Oscars Award OscarsSoWhite Every year, more than millions of audiences gather to watch The Oscars all over the world, which stands the most authoritative awards of American film industry. Each award is based on the Academy voting membership. The members of Academy are all of the excellent film artists who active in the film area. If people wanted black actor or actress to be mentioned on The Oscars every year, The Oscars will have to add a special award for black people. Even though Rock's speech was trying to help The Oscars wriggle out this awkward situation, it still can't end this arguing. The race problem has existed in American film factory for a long time. In order to solve this problem, The Oscars should not find any excuse to deny this problem. The imbalanced race members of A.M.P.A.S directly cause that The Oscars voting tend to the white films. Meanwhile, the root of this problem comes from Hollywood that doesn't give equality work opportunities to black people and doesn't pay as much attention on black people films as whites'. In the long time, the authority of The Oscars will lose. The Oscars has successfully held more than 80 years that attributes the success to its professional voting system whose voting members are all come from the outstanding film artists. However, the authority of this more than 80 years film festival has been shaken recently because of this voting system – the imbalanced race members of A.M.P.A.S make OscarsSoWhite. According to Driscoll (2016), "A Los Angeles Times 2012 study found that of those who vote, the median age was 62, almost 94 percent were Caucasian, and 77 percent were male" (p.1). Without the scholarship, it would be financially difficult for my family to fund my education and considering the fact that I intend to join academia, incurring a massive debt at this stage of my education might deter me from even pursuing a Ph.D. later on. So what does it mean when i can't even get the participation trophy/ but in this case I didn't even get the participation award. The giant fan that sat on the window sill next to my table sent chills through my body the entire night. The darkly lit room and background noise of the hundred girls in the room added to my nervous excitement. The fan then seemed to drown everything out completely. I had to keep applauding with a dead smile on my face holding back tears. I wanted to leave right then and there, but I still had to sit through at least another half an hour of awards. I couldn't leave, I had to sit there in that uncomfortable chair, frozen in a painful position I didn't bother to make more comfortable. The second I got to my car, I immediately started sobbing. All the feelings I put on pause in the banquet were now immersing my entire body. I felt utterly heartbroken and worthless. I began to question why I danced, and why I ever tried to put in the effort of trying to stand out and be better if it never meant anything to anyone. Even more, I began to question why I tried my hardest to do anything in life because I felt as though I never got the recognition I thought I deserved. The reason I didn't get any award could have been because of a mishap that happened with my parents signing me up for the event too late. • 19. Should Children Participation Trophies Or Not? There has been a debate on whether you should give your children participation trophies or not. In my opinion I believe that kids need to be told that they did well but not necessarily giving them trophies to represent they did a good job. The focus on giving out trophies every time someone does well will start to become meaningless after a while and then soon they will realize that they didn't really earn it, it was just an item to make them feel good about participating. When I first started in sports it wasn't ever about winning, it was about exercising and having fun. I asked my mom if I ever asked about getting any awards or if I got any. She did not remember a time but she did say I was happy just running around and having fun. I've seen this in other children to when I refereed them around the age of 4–6 years old playing soccer. Trophies became more of an issue when those children decide to join clubs at ages 6–8. At that point those children wanted to know they did something good to build their confidence and self–esteem. James Harrison (Pittsburg Stealers) a five time pro bowl player says this when he saw the debate on giving out participation trophies, "While I am very proud of my boys for everything they do and will encourage them till the day I die, these trophies will be given back until they EARN a real trophy. • 21. Persuasive Essay On Winning The Lottery Is winning a fortune really worth the possibility of losing everything? There are many different forms of the lottery with prizes ranging from a couple of dollars to millions of dollars. Most people though are more interested in the big prize worth millions, believing that if they were to win they would be set for life. While winning the lottery can improve someone's life it can just as equally ruin their life. After winning the lottery they need to be smart with their money. Within the first five years of winning the lottery around 70% of the winners will file for bankruptcy, according to the National Endowment for Financial Education. When people strike it rich they believe that they have all the money in the world and begin to spend or give away money without a second thought They feel the need to have the newest and best of everything to match their newfound social class. Kevin Myeroff, a certified financial planner and CEO of NCA Financial in Mayfield Heights, says that winners spend too much on depreciating assets such as cars, vacations and gifts. When winners begin to gain popularity it attracts the attention of people who want to leech off the benefits of the winner. Once they begin to give away money to family and friends it is hard for them to stop. Sandra Hayes, one of the twelve winners of the Missouri lottery in 2006 worth a total of $224 million began to feel the emotional toll of winning the lottery. The greatest honor for a scientist is to win the prestigious Nobel Prize. For Tennis, one of the highest goals is to win the Grand Slam, "The term ... first used in 1933 by the American journalist John Kieran" (Wood). The Grand Slam consists of four tournaments: Australia Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open. There are several events: singles, men and women; doubles, men and women; and mixed doubles. The ultimate goal of the Grand Slam is to win all four tournaments in your category. They saved the best for last, or maybe it's just my bias as an American but the Us Open is the last event of the Grand Slam. The tournament started competing in Newport, Rhode Island in 1881. Through the years, it transitioned to Queens, New York in the late 1970s; only two years after the tournament adopted its present name. It actually was elsewhere in the state of New York before calling New York City its home. Another interesting thing about the US Open is their experimentation of different court terrains, until finally settling with hard court like the Australia Open. Winning A Lottery Many live on limited incomes and set budgets and spending limits in which they get people necessities such as food and water to get by but also have a certain amount of money set aside to have fun. Part of the entertainment is playing the lottery. There's a greater chance of being randomly struck by lightning than winning the lottery but I believe that people spend money on lottery tickets because of the excitement, cost, and the potential. First off, playing the lottery brings excitement to people's lives. Often times people stop at a local convenience store on there way to work and purchase lottery tickets. Most lottery tickets cost under five dollars with many tickets only costing one dollar. Having a low cost drives people to play the lottery because it can be looked as a low risk high reward scenario. Someone may purchase a one dollar ticket with the jackpot being one million dollars and think they have a shot but also look at as if they don't win the person only lost a dollar. The only down effect to having a low cost is that someone may go in to get one ticket and walk out with five or six because the person felt that the price was so low why not gamble some more. Although the lottery is meeting their goal and making a profit playing too much can put a person in financial difficulty because people will start spending money they don't have on tickets. Even though a low cost has its downside I feel that having the lottery available for a cheap price is great because it's nice to have the lottery at a low risk high reward situation because it's fun to play every now and then and if someone doesn't win they didn't lose much. Persuasive Essay On Winning Games The thrill of winning a trophy for the first time is always memorable, however, it brings up the question: Is receiving an award for participating just as exciting? Participation awards are a topic highly debated among those of all ages, with none agreeing on a single answer. Individuals who are under the impression that they are essential believe they boost a child's confidence and self–esteem. This may be true in some cases, but these trophies could be doing more harm than good. Although in the moment they may appear to be wholesome, they have a lasting effect on children as they grow older. Many children put loads of effort into winning awards, which is belittled by participation trophies that are not only unhelpful and unrewarding, but don't teach them the important values learned by losing. Of course, participation trophies take away from the true meaning of receiving an award and enjoying the sport. " 'Her daughter rarely showed up for her soccer team. She had a terrible attitude,' Dweck says. In spite of that, 'at the end she got a giant trophy and would have been devastated had she not' " (Turner). Children who put no effort into the sport or activity they have joined still receive an award for being a part of it. This is extremely unfair to those who actually worked hard to make their team successful because it rewards the kids who were barely even engaged in the sport. One way of fixing this problem is giving the people a better chance at winning the lottery like increasing the odds of someone getting the correct numbers in an area that is very poor so that someone who really needs it would get the money. This would create a buzz that anyone could win the lottery money even the poor because it's been known that the lottery is rigged for only the middle class and the rich people. • 40. Persuasive Essay On Winning Competition is defined by the Merriam–Webster's Collegiate Dictionary as a contest between rivals. Many views winning as the optimum outcome for their favorite athlete or sport's team. Henry Russell Sanders said,"Sure, winning isn't everything; it's the only thing." A similar but different phrase was echoed by Vince Lombardi. He said,"Winning isn't important, but the desire to win is." The desire to win is what pushes all to be the best they can be. A healthy society should not be obsessed with winning. Winning, after all, isn't what makes someone the best at something. Sure, Suzy could win the tennis match, but if she has no drive to repeat the action of winning again, what's the point? One example of why the desire to win is best is found in the life of Albert Einstein. This man didn't really excel in school, but he kept working and trying his hardest. In fact, he eventually went to solve many of the great mysteries of physics. However, he didn't make his discoveries until later in life. This shows that if one keeps working hard things will eventually work themselves out, even if it takes. Another example of this principle can found in the life of Phiona. She learned to play chess as a little girl in the slums of Uganda, and she eventually went on to become a chess champion. She, however, wasn't always the best at chess. She lost the very first game she ever played, and this loss sparked her desire to improve the game and to eventually win many matches. She proves ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A study done measuring these factors found that Kenyans superiority comes from using less oxygen while running, and that the two groups actually had relatively similar VO2max values[5]. Unsurprisingly, the VO2max of active Kenyan children was found to be significantly higher than that of sedentary children (62.0 vs 47.1)[5]. Not only this but Kenyan children and teens were discovered to have remarkably high VO2max values when compared to that of children from other parts of the world[5]. This is to be expected though as Kenyan children are generally far more active than non–Kenyan children.[1][3][4][5] A study that looked at muscle–tendon interaction differences between Kenyan and Japanese distance runners claimed that though this difference in efficiency exists, it is not entirely responsible for Kenyans superiority in the sport[6]. This study found that Kenyans have far longer achilles tendons when stretched which they claim causes "an enhanced utilization of elastic strain energy and leads to improved running economy"[6]. They also discovered that Kenyans were able to drive their legs not only faster than Japanese runners but also further forward. Members of the Department of Kinesiology and Psychology at University of Texas at El Paso furthered this find saying that in general "biomechanical factors may play a significant role in the success of Kenyan distance runners"[7]. The audience is a key factor for a performance, but the actors and actresses are just as important since they put on the show. Winning freedom has and will always be a tough battle, and there will be people trying to take away our freedom, especially in wars. The United States of America has been attacked by multiple countries, with their intent to take away our freedom and to take our land as their own. Overall, winning freedom is something that needs to be won more than once. There have been many examples of other countries attempting to take the Americans' land and freedom. "Paul Revere's Ride", a poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, is a poem about Paul Revere's famous midnight run through many cities, warning the colonists about the British invasion. This is evidence that the British were trying to attack the colonists. Paul Revere helped in the American Revolution, by warning everyone about the British and he was able to help the colonists in the war. Another example was on December 8th, 1941 when Japan bombed many areas, including the United States. This started a war between the U.S. and Japan. Franklin D. Roosevelt sent a letter, and in that letter, Roosevelt said, "...the American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory." • 62. Personal Narrative Of Summer Swimming "Get up now," My mom yelled down the hallway. "Hurry or you'll be late!" My brother and I dreaded waking up early to swim, but we had chosen to commit. Even though I've competed every year since first grade, I still struggled. That summer swimming taught me to have stamina, the ability to not quit even though it was hard. The first week is always the worst, and the whole team knows it. No one is in shape from being at home doing nothing for the two weeks after school lets out. Especially since waking up early in the summer is not entirely effortless. "Regan," says Sam, our new head coach, pointing at me. "Lane five." Walking over to my lane, I tried not to fall over with exhaustion. The coaches put you with people who they think swim your pace, and generally lanes five and six are typically for the fastest swimmers. They worked about double of what everyone else did, and they were expected to be the best. I definitely didn't think I was one of those people, but apparently Sam did. The water was an icy shock. It made my muscles tighten as I began my eight lap warm up. Focusing on my arm movements, I struggle to keep up with the others in my lane. "Come on guys! Get moving!" Sam yelled. "Regan focus on your kicks." she told me. Feeling the looks of the others, not yet placed in lanes. I kept swimming. I skipped a flip turn to regain my breath, but I'd known I would pay for it later because the coaches punished us for not doing stuff we knew we should. At the end of practice ... • 64. Is Football A Team For A Winning Percentage? Every Sunday, football fans watch their favorite football teams duel on the gridiron to complete one objective: win. The objective for every sport is to win, and there are specific traits that point to a winning team. The most obvious way winning is defined is by how many points a team scores. A team's winning percentage proves which team has more wins. However, to predict if a team will be successful is a more difficult task. The goal of this study is to determine how significant third down conversion percentage is to achieving a higher winning percentage. Our hypothesis is that the more efficient a team is on third downs, the more likely the team will have a higher winning percentage. The results of this study could be important for coaches so they can focus their practice time on third down situations. This paper also gives football fans another way to look at how successful their team will be through efficiency and appreciate their coaches and players that much more. Previous to this paper, there has been limited research done on this topic. From what we found, there has only been one study on third down conversion. The theoretical model in our paper denotes winning percentage as the dependent variable, and we assume that all teams try to maximize win and efficiency. In order to test our hypothesis in our empirical model, we chose eight variables and ran them in a regression. The regression results showed a strong correlation between a team's third down ... • 66. Consequences Of Winning The Lottery Imagine winning the lottery right now, smiling while holding a big check for five–hundred million dollars. Now imagine all of the things you could do with that money like buy a giraffe or a lamborghini. You could even open up an orphanage for kids. Now think of all the bad that could come out like becoming broke from lack of responsibility (financially) or losing all of your friends. When people win the lottery, people like to focus on the positive elements, but no one chooses to look at the negative elements. Although there are many risks involved in winning the lottery, I would still love to win. Because I would have many more opportunities,I could help many people in need, and I would have the freedom to do whatever I please. Although ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Like Tupac Shakur once said "I'm not saying I'm gonna change the world, but I guarantee that I will spark the brain that will change the world"(brainyquotes). With winning the lottery, I could open good schools in communities where the schooling is either poor or it's not free. I could give clean water to people in places where they don't have water. I could give food and shelter to those who don't have it. A couple weeks ago, my family and I went on a trip to Dallas,Texas for a family reunion and we stopped on this bridge and there was a homeless man standing with a sign. I saw the man and I gave him $20 which was all the money in my purse because I felt that the man needed it more than me. I realize that going to Clayton instead of some poor city school and living in middle class America and having both my parents in my life that I have it better than many of people, not only in Saint Louis, but in the world. I could be going to work everyday as a 15 year old rather than school, living in some small house. The fact that 1 in 6 americans struggles to get enough to eat alone is enough to make me want to give back. I think the first thing i would do with my money would be to open a foundation to find the cure of different types of cancer. More specifically stomach and breast cancers, because those are the cancers that affect me and my family the most. So I think ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Having survived copious rounds of layoffs, unnerving uncertainty for their futures, relentless reactive upheaving change, and fearful atmospheres of overwrought anxiety, many employees are fighting off a recessionary post traumatic exhaustion. We are experiencing soars in productivity from a workforce that has been coerced to toil protracted arduous hours for less compensation. This phantom productivity gain has been compelled by survival instincts rather than tangible productivity improvements generated through process improvement, technology application, six sigma strategies, and the like. The Gallup Management Journal 's semi–annual Employee Engagement Index puts the current percentage of truly "engaged" employees at 29 percent. • 70. The Killer Cats Are Winning Analysis Cats, are a common household in America and are known to outnumber dogs as pets. Natalie Angier talks about this in her article "The Killer Cats Are Winning!" I think cats should be allowed to be outdoors. Cats are playful animals, they are great pets, and I own one. Natalie Angier, discusses that we spend a lot of money on cats; yet cats are wild at heart. Peter P. Marra and Chris Santella authors of Cat Wars, view cats as "cuddly killers." Cats are viewed as invasive species as a contamination to the environment. Outdoor cats are a threat to wildlife as predators. Also cats are a danger to human health from different types of illnesses. The Trap– Neuter–Return (TNR), view cats as human alternative to euthanizing strays. Personally, I see ... Lyall was an amateur naturalist studying the biological bounty. Wasn't this guy smart enough not to take the cat along? On the island there was flightless songbirds but they went extinct because of the cats. The flightless songbird would have not been extinct today if David would have not gone with the cat. Plus, those birds cannot fly so obviously they were going to die. As this article continues to be bias. A research in 2015, showed proof that cat killed many animals. But when asked by cat owners 98 percent did not car. Also they did not want the cats inside all of the time. Plus, the research showed 60 percent did not think their cats were doing harm to the environment. This is proving that people do not see harm from cats whether they are outside or to the environment. I do not agree with this article because the entire thing is bias towards cats. There are more cat pets over dogs. Cats should have the freedom to be outdoors, not get blamed for the destruction of the environment and more studies should be done on how cats are worthy rather than the immoral ... While lining up to shake the hands of our opponents, I felt the heart–ache that we were experiencing from the loss of the hard fought battle. Looking up into the stands seeing our fans with the same disappointed faces as the rest of the team had, I soon knew this was an experience that would not be forgotten anytime soon. My basketball career at Sauers ended with an invitation to the National Lutheran Basketball tournament made up of 32 boys and 32 girls teams from all over the US. Our journey began Thursday morning with a send off from our school with a tunnel made of students. As we crammed into the van that cool morning, I could feel the excitement growing within in the team for the weekend to come. After arriving at Valparaiso University, we had to check in as a team. Walking into the main gym, I realized this time it seemed much larger, although I have seen the gym before from a previous teams playing in the tournament. The main gym smelled of freshly made popcorn, with a glow reflecting off the court, and the sound of multiple conversations happening at once that seemed to make your head spin from all the chaos. Looking at each gym we could possibly play in, I could picture the loud crowds packed into the bleachers that should only hold half the people that were in them. The opening ceremony followed checkin. While walking through the campus to the chapel, I was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Importance Of Fostering A Winning Culture Fostering a Winning Culture The purpose of this paper is to discuss how sergeants major can influence changing the culture within the United State Army Recruiting Command (USAREC). Soldiers at all levels within USAREC deal with the constant pressures of mission accomplishment and often do not realize or do not feel appreciation for their efforts. It perceived by many Soldiers within USAREC that their leadership often, uses aggressive communication within their formations and this often hinders the development of cohesive teams. When I first came into the recruiting in 1999 there were several recruiting incentives that recognized a recruiter's performance and not just the recruiter's performance, but the performance at all levels, recruiting station recognition, recruiting company recognition, recruiting battalion recognition and so on. These recognitions once within doctrine took form in awards such as, the recruiter gold badge of excellence, the recruiter ring, and culminated with those who truly became an expert in the skill with the Glen E. Morrell award. In 2010 these types of award programs ended. Senior leaders considered them ineffective goals to motivate soldiers to bring their A–game or their highest level of performance. This was a point of time of great–success for the recruiting command, the economy had fallen, the unemployment rate was hovering around ten percent, and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan seemed to be ending. Hence the idea that the recruiting mission had become easy and these types of incentives where unnecessary. It was not just the incentives that went away, though the recognition leaders verbally gave to subordinates when they did something stopped as well. Effective praise had always been a key part of motivating soldiers within the Recruiting Command but the culture had changed and we stopped recognizing people not just with trinkets or awards, but with simple personal recognition of how they were doing ... • 78. A Different Way At Scaffolding Safety Tips A different way to look at scaffolding safety tips My experience with League of legends and applying it to scaffolding After completing high school, I found myself spending most of my time on the computer, mostly playing games. One of my favorite games I spent the most time on was League of legends. Basically there two teams that get to pick from a roster of over 100 champions to fight against each other in an arena. The goal of the game is to take out the enemy teams nexus. Every game I try to avoid dying to the enemy team by being as safe as possible. Safety is also very important in scaffolding. Construction is a very hazardous industry with falls being the leading cause of death. Safety is very important to me in league of legends ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Finding the balance is crucial to winning the game. Similarly construction projects in scaffolding want to be completed in a respectable amount of time. Speed is usually important when it comes to these construction projects, but the workers safety is even more important. Basically you want to get the job done quickly, but with the least amount of risk to the workers. Kee Safety's Mike Mumau said "the real issue is how do you build something in a fast, efficient way, and still be profitable without putting the workers at risk." The balance between the two is important for construction projects. 2. Organization – Teams in league of legends need to be organized during a match. A team that is organized is more likely to win the game. Deaths can be avoiding if your team is positioned well on the map. If you shouldn't be there in the first place, why would you go? A teammate that is alone on a certain part of the map and isn't doing anything that will help the team shouldn't be there. Usually not being grouped with your team will lead to an easy kill for the enemy team. You want to be in the right places at the right times. It is generally safer when you are with your team instead of being alone. Organization is also important in the workplace of scaffolding. The highest amount of safety violations happen because of slips, trips, and falls. It can be avoiding with worksite organization. Specifically tripping can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
