Persuasive Essay On Porn Hub
What's up guys? Anyone here like Seedless? Seedless? You here for the last batch? Probably not?
So, subscribing to Porn Hub was probably one of the biggest mistakes of my life. I really wanted to
get some of the HD porn, right? You can pay 29, 30 bucks a month, you can get all the videos of all
the beautiful women on Porn Hub, and men as well. But they were doing this special one month,
and it was one dollar. You can get access to all of Porn Hub premium. So, I went ahead and signed
up because I obviously wanted to see what this is about, but I wanted to cancel. I'm not going to pay
30 bucks a month for porn. So, I called them up and this is how the call goes when you try to cancel
your Porn Hub subscription.
So you call them up, and it's ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What do you want to learn about, homeless man?"
He said, "Library."
So, we took him to the Los Angeles Public Library, Venice Library and we set him up with the
librarian. We set him up with an interview with the librarian, and we were like, "All right, homeless
guy, ask any question you want."
"Can you sleep in the bathroom? Do you have anything against people sleeping in the library
bathroom?" And the librarian just kind of looked at him, didn't really know what to say. We felt like
the homeless guy might have been playing us at this point, but kept going. The next thing I asked
the homeless guy was, "What else do you want to ask?" And he was kind of out of ideas. So I was
like, "All right homeless guy, how are books stored in the library?"
"The Dewey Decimal System?" He already knew. He already knew. He knew the whole time. The
homeless guy was just trying to find a place to sleep indoors. It was a scam. Scammed us hard. Man.
So we run a start up company ... probably getting sued right now. I hired these two sales guys, and
they were roommates. That was the first mistake, but they worked together. They were roommates
and basically two of the worst sales people that I've ever met in my life. They had a contract, but
they went through, and they didn't work the entire time, fired them, gave them notice and
everything, came back, and, yeah, they said they were gonna sue. So that's my life right now. Kind
of feeling bad. Getting sued is one of the

Miss Carolines First Day- to Kill a Mocking Bird
Miss Caroline's first day * Her attitude to Maycomb and the school. * Her pupils
(scout/Walter/Burris/Little chuck etc.) * Her teaching methods and there effectiveness. * Classroom
management. * Key moments etc. Dear diary, I walked into the classroom to see all my new pupils,
I was nervous at first but then Miss Maudie introduced me to the class and everything was fine. I
wrote my name on the board and told them what it said and where I am from. The class just
murmured back to me. I started the day by reading the children a story about cats, I think they liked
it but then again some of them did seem immune to imaginative literature. After reading I went to
the blackboard and printed the alphabet in large ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Everyone had now realised what I had done and broke out in a storm of laughter. I threatened the
rest of the class with a similar fate and they exploded again, it only went quiet when the shadow of
Miss Blount fell over them. Miss Blount is a native Maycombian as yet uninitiated in the mysteries
of the Decimal System, appeared at the door hands on hips and announced that if she hears another
sound from the room she'll up everyone in it.' She also told me the sixth grade couldn't concentrate
on the pyramids because of the so called racket coming from my room. I did not appreciate her
coming into my classroom and telling my pupils to be quiet. The bell then went for lunch everyone
filed out I just sunk in my chair and put my head in my arms. A lot had happened in just half a day
and there was still the afternoon to come. Everyone came back from lunch, I was standing in the
middle of the room and I'm sure the children could see sheer horror flooding into my face when I
saw the cootie crawling out of Burris Ewell's hair I screamed 'it's alive'. Little Chuck told me not to
be afraid of a cootie and brought me back up to my desk and got me a drink of water. I really do not
like cooties and insects so that's why I reacted in such a way. I took out a thick volume, leafed
through its pages and read for a moment and told him a good home remedy for Burris. I told him I
wanted him to go home and wash his hair with lye soap and when he's

The Map of Art History Uses Order and Classification by...
The Map of Art History essay is about how art history uses disciplines in societies to represents
itself through order and classification. From many observations and theories it considers three
subject: first is the listing of fields in art history, second is the library system is for categorizing art
books, and third is the plotting of space and time in art history from survey texts. Also in the
discussion the writer talks about the geography of art history such as where does the idea appear
from? Other questions he asked was how and why do disciplinary classifications aspire are global

In the subject of field for art history Robert pointed out the art is found in all categories except for
the unknown era of the Renaissance all the way to the 19th and 20th century in Europe also the
African Diaspora. In this part of where he is examining the fields Robert shows the history of how
art progress through the globe and similar styles of art like the European art are shown in the north
and south of America. He also calls forth the Art Criticism and Theory which is to be the only
category to be critical and theoretical. Criticism in art is what demonstrates the discipline in art
history for rejection or approval of the work. According to Robert's argument he also claims that the
library system is for categorizing art books, his statement was that "every book creates order,
individually and collectively. The order of a single book is a function of its written discourse, but the
order of a group of books is greater than the sum of their texts. " (The Map of Art History, 30). By
his statement he meant that books are disciplinary and hold so much order and control over society
because of the knowledge it provides in history. Mevil Dewey was a leader of the classification
movement and the creator of the system that holds his name, stretching the educational mission of
new public libraries, because of his mission,

most popular subject areas are 'Adventurer and adventures', 'Supernatural' and 'Interpersonal

copies of this title at High Wycombe – one is on loan and the other is available. The catalogue is

facets work may be required for this age group. There seemed to be two reasons for this; one, the

Medical Administrative Assistant Field
Medical Administrative Assistant Field In the field of Medical Administrative Assistant, there is a
multitude of career choices to branch off into. Of these many fields, the three that I choose to
discuss are Medical Billing, Medical Coding and Medical Assistant. All three careers are of high
demand in the medical industry and each requires the need of basic classes, with a couple of varied
courses, depending on the field. Basic requirements for all include a high school diploma or GED.
Most require an Associates degree, consisting of specific major courses and general liberal arts
courses. Additionally, these professions can continue to advance their careers by obtaining a higher
degree or attaining alternate types of specific ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Growth trends in this field are very broad. Billing specialist, patient account representative, claims
processor, analyst, auditor, collector and reviewer are only some of the many options available and
require additional specific certification and training. The average salary for medical billers ranges
mid $30,000 to lower $40,000 (Salary.com, 2011), but depending on certain factors, can excel
beyond this. Additionally, medical billers must also have solid personal skills; customer service,
patience, compassion and understanding when dealing with patients, physicians, hospital staff and
other associated personnel is a must. Medical Coding Medical coding, on the other hand, deals more
closely with patient medical records. Medical coders work in the billing office, or "back office" of
medical practices or hospitals. Alphanumeric codes are assigned to all illnesses, injuries and
treatments. Medical procedures are coded for the purpose of classifying diseases in numerical
sequences for identification and data collection purposes, similar to the Dewey Decimal System in
libraries. Coding specialists review medical records and assign numeric codes for the diagnoses
identified and procedures performed. Each medical procedure and patient encounter has a number
(CPT code) associated with it which corresponds to an ICD code. These

Examples Of Cognitive Reading Theory
Cognitive reading theory
When you read, you may think you are decoding a message that a writer has encoded into a text.
Error in reading comprehension, in this model, would occur if you as a reader were not decoding the
message correctly, or if the writer was not encoding the message accurately or clearly. The writer,
however, would have the responsibility of getting the message into the text, and the reader would
assume a passive role.
According to this view:
1. Reading has a Model
2. Reading is an Active, Constructive, and Meaning–Making Process
3. Reading is Multi–Level
4. Reading is Hypothesis Based
5. Reading is strategic

Often the basic setting is real, but the characters are fictional.
Folk Tales, Tall Tales, and Fairy Tales
Folk tales are stories with no known creator. They were originally passed down from one generation
to another by word of mouth. The authors on folk tale books today are retelling these stories.
Although, folk tales are sometimes based on real historical figures, there are fictional elements to
the story. Tall tales are generally folk tales in which the main character is bigger than life in some
way
Examples would be Paul Bunyan, Mike Fink, Swamp Angel, etc. Fairy tales were often created to
teach children behaviour in an entertaining way. Folk tales, tall tales, and fairy tales are found in
most libraries in the non–fiction section with a Dewey decimal classification of 398. Some libraries
place picture book versions of folk tales in the easy book section.
Myths
Myths are stories that usually explain something about the world and involve gods and other
supernatural beings. Although, myths are fictional stories, in most libraries they are found in the
non–fiction section of the library in the

An Analysis of The Hyundai Accent Campaign: New Thinking,...
2.3 Ad content and patterns:
Hyundai 3D projection mapping is a part of their new thinking new possibilities campaign. This
particular technique was produced in Malaysia on 19th February 2011. The production period was
four months and required one hundred and twenty crewmembers, six high–definition projectors, ten
high–definition cameras, six cranes, one Hyundai accent car and one stunt man. The content
involved graphics on a plain wall with an appearance of a building with huge gates. The gates open
and the vehicle comes out. All the graphics are then removed and a stunt man walks on the wall
towards a new Hyundai Accent suspended in front of a city wall where the headlights faced the
grounds. The stunt man opens the door of the vehicle ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Schroeder explains that images are like fetishes; they are worshiped for their almost magical ability
to conjure desire and delight. Dream like image is a concept used by marketers to pursue consumers,
providing meaning in a myth–like way that in turn helps consumers relate with their brands
(Schroeder, 2002,p.12). For example: Hyundai accent 3D–PM and Toyota Aruris 3D–PM have
followed this very same concept in the creation of these events. As mentioned above in the
description of Hyundai accent 3D–PM, viewers were stunned to notice the vehicle on the wall. This
may have given them the feel of the products ability. Projection mapping allowed viewers to
imagine with the help of graphic illusions. The essence clearly being "New thinking, new
possibilities'. Similarly yet different Toyota Auris used the 'touch and feel' sensory to promote their
projection mapping. Allowing viewers to vision the statement "get your energy back".
Conclusion:
When individuals in contemporary society engage with products they are principally employing
them as 'signs' rather than 'things', actively manipulating them in such a way as to communicate
information about themselves to others. It is commonly assumed that these individuals, in their
capacity as consumers, engage with products in order to achieve 'self–construction', the purpose of
their subjectivity. Shopping is not merely the acquisition of things; it is the

My Favorite Levels Of Love : The Love Of Reading
I´ve had highs and lows with reading. I loved it then i hated it then i loved it again and i hated it. Í
started at a young age with picture books and soon came into the big books. Ive done challenges and
i have wrote for the school newspaper. I dont still do it but i will always remember those. I started
reading a writing at a young age. I was probably younger than I could remember when my mother
would read the short picture books to my while I lay in bed. One book I remember was ¨The Very
Hungry Caterpillar¨ by Eric Carle. I used to be in love with that book I always thought that was the
most interesting thing. Give or take I was only 2 years old. From then on I read and read to the point
where I was like Sonic reading all of those books. Nobody read faster in my preschool, kindergarten
and first grade classes. One day I was sitting in my kindergarten class and teacher told us to go the
library. We all had gotten in that single file line they always made us get in. I hated that, it was
always a nasty little competition to get to the front of the line. We would walk all the way down to
the library which felt like forever do to the never ending talking and shushing game the teacher
played with the one little rebel in the back of the line. When we get within the library it always felt
massive to me, could probably be due to the sheer massive size I was. I was probably 4´2 80
pounds. I got my bright blue book marker and started to walk through and look for some kind of of

I've been volunteering at the Triton College Library since my first semester at Triton. I've learned
several things, both personally and practically.
I actually have past experience in volunteering at libraries. I used to volunteer at my high school's
library for 3 years. Because of that I had learned the Dewey Decimal system along with laminating
and helping students with requests. Those skills really came in handy during my time volunteering. I
have considered pursuing library studies to become a librarian, but ultimately decided it wasn't for
me. Nonetheless, I still enjoy volunteering ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although I didn't keep any because I didn't want to hoard books like I had in high school, I skimmed
through some of them and it's amazing to think that these books had transcended tens of years. It
made me wonder just how many people had held and read the book like I was at that moment,
possible before I was even born.
The staff at the library are very kind and supporting. They were always willing to help me when I
needed it. They even offered me snacks and even planned a small goodbye party in their break room
with cupcakes and flowers they had bought for me. I was touched and very grateful that they had
planned and gone through the effort to plan a party for me when I had only been with them a
semester. I learned more about them personally this semester compared to last semester. They still
say hi to me occasionally when I go to the library and usually ask how I am.
While I was helping out at the library, I realized just how many resources we have available to us
students. I also noticed that most students didn't even know about them, much less how to access
them. We had numerous events such as a computer coding workshop (for people of all ages) which I
would have gone to if it wasn't for it being during one of my classes. I was also surprised to find that
many of the librarians went to the events. One resource for example, is the online librarian chat
where you can ask for help in finding sources, which was especially helpful

improve cataloging techniques to create an ease of and increased access of library resources for
children and young adults. The book consists of chapters that are written by experienced
professionals who provide readers with an abundant amount of useful information about cataloging.
These three editors work together to do an outstanding job of keeping up to date with the current

Charles Ammi Cutter: A Racist Analysis
"It has been my aim to place within reach of the inhabitants of a town, in which I have lived long
and pleasantly, the means of learning, if they are disposed of to learn, the marvelous development of
modern thought, and to enable them to judge of the destiny of the race on scientific evidence, rather
than a metaphysical evidence alone." (Lockwood, 11) Forbes' wishes reflect the didactic, reformist
tendencies of the19th century because in the quote mentioned above, he clearly states that he wanted
the people on his hometown to develop modern thought and actually form their own opinions based
on the facts they have learned rather than blindly following a popular opinion. His aspiration is seen
in a large bronze tablet that still to this day, hangs on the a wall behind the circulation desk in the

Cutter was already a national figure for writing a book in 1876 called Cutter's Rules for a Printed
Dictionary Catalog when he was appointed as the librarian. While working at the Boston
Athenaeum, he came up with many concepts that were badly needed and are still being used today.
His most important and well known formula is on the cataloging of books. The formula arranged
books based on the letters of the alphabet instead of the decimal system invented by Dewey. This
system became the become "...the world leading textbook on systematic dictionary
cataloging...allowed for more minuteness of classification and in time would become the partial
model for the Library of Congress system itself." (Lockwood,

Kill A Mockingbird, By Harper Lee

brother, Jem, and their widowed lawyer of a father, Atticus, in Maycomb, Alabama. On one summer,
the siblings befriend a boy named Charles Baker Harris (Dill) (who has visited for the summer), and
the three soon begin to spark a fascination with the Radley Place–a cryptic and eerie house which is
inhabited by a man named Arthur, although he is dubbed Boo–and begin to test Boo, even going
into the yard, which leads Scout to believe that Boo is inhuman; for example, during the winter, Boo

Ewell fatally. Afterwards, Boo carries a slightly wounded Jem back to Atticus' residence, where two
differing opinions rise–the town sheriff lies to protect Boo, insisting that Ewell tripped and killed
himself; on the contrary, Atticus wants to bring his son to trial, as he believes that he was the one
who killed Ewell. The sheriff seems to get his way, and after sitting with Scout, who realizes that
Boo is human, Boo returns once again to the Radley house. Following the incident, Scout has
another epiphany–she realizes that it is important to practice kindness and understanding, as treating
others with hatred, prejudice, and extreme bias would be worse than killing a mockingbird:
"'Mockingbirds don't do one thing but make music for us to enjoy. They don't eat up people's
gardens....they don't do one thing but sing their hearts out....That's why it's a sin to kill a
mockingbird'" (Lee 103).

child who soon begins to show uncommon traits for a girl at the time: she is mentally years ahead of
her peers, having been taught to read before school; she worries about essential goodness and has no
like for hypocrisy; she always acts on what she believes to be the best; in addition, for her time
(deep south, pre– Civil Rights Movement), she is quite a tomboy. Like anyone, however, she does

The Effects Of Sexual Behavior On The Human Male
As scholarly reviews started to trickle in, it became clear that there were problems with Kinsey 's
work. Reviewers complained that he ignored love, emotion, and the complexities of culture.
However, the most damaging critiques focused on his sampling method; questioning whether the
enormous number of people, he interviewed, were a true representation of the American population.
Indeed this was not an idle question, given Kinsey 's predilection for recruiting college students,
prostitutes, and prison inmates to participate in the study. He rigorously interviewed thousands of
Americans about their sexual histories and practices. Sexual Behavior in the Human Male was
published in 1948 (Kinsey, Pomeroy, & Martin, 1948). Sexual Behavior in the ... Show more

More than that, he realized how deadly such ignorance could be. Despite an epidemic of venereal
disease, unwanted pregnancies and dangerous illegal abortions, 'abstinence only' was being taught in
the 'marriage courses' (euphemistic forerunners of sex–education) at the University. The link
between his earliest, work and his latest, work is his focus on methods of mass data gathering,
classification of that data, and the knowledge that classification can generate. Some advocate the
perpetuation of our ignorance because they fear that science will undermine the mystical concepts
that they have substituted for reality. There appear to be more persons who believe that an extension
of our knowledge may contribute to the establishment of better marriages (Kinsey, Pomery and
Martin). Failure to recognize these differences in the needs of the two sexes for a regular sexual
outlet may be the source of a considerable amount of difficulty in marriage (Brady). Many papers
included complimentary copy, ranging from interviews with 'common people' about their attitudes
toward 'the new sex book' to sermons that eluded to the fact that Kinsey was the equivalent of the
devil himself. Some papers argued for the merits of Kinsey on the grounds of freedom of speech and
freedom of the press. Speculations on his reasoning include boredom, a desire for wider fame and

Melville Dewey was born on December 10, 1851 in Adams Center, New York. His full name was
Melville Louis Kossuth Dewey. He came from a poor family that was very hardworking and
intelligent. When he was young he organized his mom pantry in alphabetical order. When he was
young he did not like how his parents spelled his name . He changed it to the way it sounds Melvil
Dui. He did not like how things were spelled so he wanted to change them to the way they
sounded. The different colleges that he went to are Alfred University and Amherst College. When he
working he saved up money to buy a big an unabridged dictionary so he can read words and know
the meaning of the words and he argued with people about what the meaning was or not. When he

Book Classification Final Exam
713 Final Exam
Part 1
Question 1. "c"
Question 2. "d"
Question 3. "d"
Part 2
The book, "Ceremonial songs of the Creek and Yuchi Indians" is unique because it fits comfortably
under classifications of history as well as music. For example, the provided Library of Congress
Classification number shows it categorized with folk music from the American Indians and the
Dewey Decimal Classification makes no reference to the musical aspect instead emphasizing the
ties to the Creek Indians. This is problematic because if someone is not aware of the full topic or
title and is seeking the book, they may disregard the music and be unable to locate the book in their
search. Retrieval requires solid metadata, especially in these instances where one subject or
classification is not enough to adequately describe the "aboutness" of the work. This is one
argument in favor of increasing the reach of the semantic web and Linked Data to alleviate some of
these problems. As seen in Part 1, achieving coextensivity is not easy when there can only be one
DDC or LCC call number, but multiple LCSH headings assigned.
Part 3 The assignments for this course were certainly eye–opening for someone who intends to do
cataloging and classifying work in the future. I naively assumed going in that there would be some
ultimate form of classifying, but it seems the true winning combo is a combination of multiple,
whether that be LCC, LCSH, DCC, folksonomy, or other ontologies. This work is integral to

What Were Your Reading Experiences As A Child?
What were your reading experiences as a child?
My reading experiences as child was an interesting combination of biblical short stories, Nancy
Drew novels, and vinyl recordings of classic Disney fairytales. The most valuable experience I can
remember from childhood was my weekly visits to the school's library. The smell of the card catalog
and challenging myself to locate books using the Dewey Decimal system gave me greater
appreciation for literature and most importantly built a foundation for creativity and critical thinking
skills.
Were these positive or negative experiences for you?
Each reading experience I gained as child was positive, with the exception of daily biblical
interpretations. My mother was a devout Christian and most ... Show more content on

There were so many benefit of having a school Librarian and teachers who understood the
importance of building a love for literacy during the elementary school years.
With which group of readers in your classroom do you most identify–the underground readers, the
developing readers, or the dormant readers?
Beers identified the dormant reader as, a student who likes to read but is often preoccupied with
conflicting interest. I believe I identify with this student the most because there is always a conflict
in my schedule that prevents me from enjoying a novel. I'd love to have the freedom of mental space
for at least one week of my life. My brain is always cluttered with creating intervention plans,
grading, parent conferences, and lesson planning. I'd love to have a healthy work life balance and
upgrade my dormant reading status. .
Who have been your role models for reading?
My 11th grade high school teacher, Mrs. Denovi, will forever be my role model for reading. She
greeted us every day with highlights from our reading homework. Her motivation and enthusiasm
inspired me to write poetry.
What do you read besides books?
The high stresses of living in New York City have sparked my interest in reading about salt water
fishing. Yes, I'm a monthly subscriber to, Salt Water Sportman magazine. This magazine covers
comprehensive fishing coverage. Most importantly, it teaches about various fishing techniques and
familiarizes me with the different

Melvil Dewey: The Dewey Decimal System
Melvil Dewey is the man who invented the Dewey Decimal System. He is respected, and still
remembered after many years of helping many libraries in organizing. He was a very good
Educator, Scholar, and Journalist. Even though he didn't have an easy life, he still moved on and
grew into the man he is now. Melvil Dewey's idea is still used as an example for many libraries.
Melvil Louis Kossuth Dewey born on December 10, 1851, came from a poor family. He was very
young at the age when he thought that one day he would do something very important for the world.
As he grew, his father, Joel Dewey, worked as a shoe maker and the keeper of a general store to
keep food on the table for his family. Melvil's mother, Eliza Greene Dewey, ... Show more content

He also wanted to change his name spelling from "Melville" to "Melvil" and "Dewey" to "Dui." He
moved to Boston where he made and became editor of of "The Library Journal" and influenced
many libraries. He also became the librarian of Columbia College were he had many helpers. He
even wrote at least five–hundred and fifty notes a day telling his helpers what he wanted them to do
every day. Another thing he did, was invent a pencil that had led on both ends to help him work
faster. Then, he and his wife, Amy, founded a club named "Lake Placid Club" in New York, where
he did not allow any Jews. It was like a place where he did outdoor activities, and imported sports
equipment. They actually fired him for not allowing Jews to the club. So he decided to move to
Florida to make another "Lake Placid Club." There he made his dreams come true, "Lake Placid"
was now a place to be on the map because of his great effort. After all he lived he sadly had a stroke,
which caused him to die on December 26, 1931. He lived a hard life, but he got through it and
became famous. So dreams can happen even though it will take lots of hard work and sacrifice.
Melvil Dewey was a great influence to all the library's of America, his invention will forever be
used. His invention

Reed gives commentary throughout the book on the boats' history. Book controversy[edit] While
there have been disputes over the context and research of the book, there have been controversies
that surround the movie The Perfect Storm. Families of two crew members sued the film makers for
the fictionalization of events which happened prior to the loss of the Andrea Gail.[4] In 2005, the
Florida Supreme Court ruled against the family of Captain Tyne by a 6–2 vote. REVIEW 1: It is a
struggle as old as humanity itself and perhaps that is why the ongoing battle of human against nature
resonates with such resilience in the hearts and minds of readers of the adventure tale. A solitary
figure standing on a beach can rail against the elements of sand, sea, and rain and feel in control, but
omnipotence rests on terra firma. Place that same person on a boat tossed about on a roiling sea, a
sky reverberating with crescendos of thunder, water–bullets screaming from the heavens, and
prayers for deliverance are the only words that pass humbled lips. In October 1991, on the Grand
Banks off the coast of Nova Scotia, the 72–foot swordfish boat Andrea Gail turns west to begin its
journey home to Gloucester, Massachusetts. It's been a successful run and the Gail's hold is full of
fish, but disturbing news over the radio puts captain Billy Tyne on alert. Storms are approaching and
with a full hold the Andrea Gail sits low in the water. What transpires

Food Justice Research Paper
Why Isn't Food Justice Taught in Secondary Education Food Justice is communities using their right
to grow, sell, and eat healthy food. "Healthy food" is food that isn't just nutritious but also
affordable, culturally–appropriate, and grown locally with care for the well–being of the land,
workers, and animals. Food insecurity is when someone is without sufficient access to affordable,
nutritious food. In the U.S. 83.5% of the population was food insecure in 2016 (Coleman–Jensen).
Food insecurity seems to be quite common so why haven't I ever heard of it before until I took a
college level course on food studies. My family has been food insecure for most of my life, yet I

The post–war years caused a surge in innovation of food design and knowledge growth that sped up
the spread of ideas and food products through research and development in the food technology and
science industries. By 1952, there was a change in the syllabuses direction which was much
different from the previous one. The Home Economics syllabus was designed to integrate with the
science faculty so that content could be correlated with scientific principles pertaining to food
design using laboratory instruments in the science room. By trying to keep in line with the changing
needs of society while acknowledging the need to retain the family unit, the syllabus created a dual
dilemma for teacher interpretations. As a result, and due to the sheer magnitude of the syllabus
intent, internal tensions and teacher perceptions for how the subject should be taught led to the
science theme being shelved by many teachers

The Serpent Of Venice Analysis
THAT DAMNED LIBRARY!
When I'm looking for someone to blame because my head hurts from trying to think, Carolyn (a
library associate in the C. Burr Artz Public Library's Maryland Room) comes to mind if I'm
struggling with something art related. The Emmitsburg Branch's Librarian Sue (a once–upon–a–
time teacher of art history) and the Mad One (an artist who claims she ain't) follow close on
Carolyn's heels for making my head hurt. (Carolyn tops the list only because she ordered me out of
the local library for being disruptive, twice. Coincidentally matching the number of times and
reason I've been ordered out of drinking establishments.) Sadly, their combined attempts to
enlighten and educate me (beyond my intelligence) occasionally seems to ... Show more content on

I suspect the new books will do little to help me understand the context of "Sacre bleu", but I'm
hopeful they'll be full of pictures so I don't have to read a lot. My head hurts enough now.
While I'm waiting, I pick up another novel by Moore, "The Serpent Of Venice". While "Sacre bleu"
was an iffy choice, it is about Paris and frogs after all, "The Serpent..." has a serpent in it and I don't
mind them so much. And it takes place mostly in Venice, which, as far as I know, is sinking into the
sea and will one day be of no bother to me at all.
Sweet Mother of Purgatory! "The Serpent Of Venice" is a satirical novel poking fun at Billy
Shakespeare! Gods! If there is anything less comprehensible than French, it's Shakespeare! Billy
and his imbecilic parameters. Or was Mrs. Wenschoff referring to me while I was napping in her
senior English class? Maybe she said "iambic pentameter"? Either or, Billy the bard was/is beyond
my limited grasp of English.
This time I am NOT requesting the works of Shakespeare to help me understand the comedy which
is "The Serpent Of Venice". Moore writes enough vulgarities to satisfy me without my having to
understand the contextual references to Billyboy's gawdawful

How Did John Dewey Impact On Education
Introduction
Growing up in school, when "Dewey" was mentioned, one more than likely thought of the Dewey
decimal system, which was used in libraries. However, that system was created by Melvil Dewey,
and while he was an important person, there was another Dewey that impacted education in
extraordinary ways. That man is known as John Dewey. John Dewey shaped the education system
that we have today by reconstructing the progressive education. Dewey was a philosopher, and
educational theorist who used experimentalism, as well as many other theories to change the way
the American Education system was done. He lived during the time period where traditional and
progressive education were coming together, so he used both to create his own personal
philosophies. Once of his major philosophies was relating learning to society. Additionally, he used
dualism as an approach to his philosophies that changed the education system. He impacted today's
education system in many ways, with his different ideas still being seen in school's today.
Incorporating multiple subjects into school's, as well as taking a hand's on learning approach are two
theories that while many other philosophers believed in as well, Dewey used to develop the
education system. John Dewey was a model citizen, that benefited society and the American
education system in a variety of ways.

John Dewey had a unique life, that while not always the best, shaped him into who the person he

History, Philosophy And Miscellaneous Works
Literature Review
Libraries have a long history towards the ancient world as places used to keep important records
such as clay tablets, transcripts and many texts. Many records were destroyed in the course of wars
or purposely by some rulers with the changes in government. As a result, writing of literature as
well as record keeping was encouraged where classification schemes were initiated to preserve
those records of all times. The first formal classification was categorizing the writings into four
types, the classics, history, philosophy and miscellaneous works. (Library, 2016). However, these
broad categories didn't help much in guiding to access the increasing collection. The result was,
introducing Dewey Decimal Classification as a scheme for the classification of the documents/
materials. (Library, 2016).
Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC)
DDC was an invention of Melvil Dewey in 1876. He was an Assistant Librarian at Amherst College
when he published DDC as "A Classification and subject index for cataloging and arranging the
books pamphlets of a library". (Yoon, J. 2014). The system was formulated to organize the contents
of the library based on the subject areas divided into 10 main groups where each group is given 100
numbers. For example, Religion belongs in 200 – 299. (DDC, 2016). This numerical classification
gives identification for the item as well as a location tool which ensures the books under the same
subject are kept together in a common area. (Wiercioch,

Controlled Vocabulary Paper
Introduction The organization of information is the part of the human psyche, we begin organizing
images into "categories" from birth; and as we grow up we develop more complex organizational
skills to "sort" out daily information (Taylor & Joudrey, 2009, p, 1). From there we are able to
retrieve the information we have stored in our brains, when needed. Using that knowledge, how
does one create a system that is capable of retrieving information for any particular user based upon
their needs and ability? Since there is no two people just alike in mind or behavior, the idea of
organizing the information into a functional system that will make sense to most people seems
impossible. There is however, a few key methods that a cataloger, one ... Show more content on

In McCutcheon's (2009) article, the concept of controlled vocabulary "relies on recognition from
provided terms" (p. 63). When controlled vocabulary is put into the process of organizing
information, especially in the subject field, then the user can significantly locate the information
they are seeking faster. Without controlled vocabulary the natural language that each person uses
will be too chaotic to find any collocation within the collection. Natural language, according to
Susan Feldman (1999), is referring to the way humans have learned to speak, pronounce and spell
words in various ways. It's the way a New Yorker may talk or write in comparison to a Texan or a
British person. With controlled vocabulary, just like with name authority control, it tells the
cataloger(s) how to list the book or item, under a specific subject heading. Once the information is
in the system, a user can be linked to other controlled vocabulary terms similar to the term they
used, to find their

Importance Of Love In Literature
How I got to where i am in literature I´ve had highs and lows with reading. I loved it then i hated it
then i loved it again and i hated it. Í started at a young age with picture books and soon came into
the big books. Ive done challenges and i have wrote for the school newspaper. I dont still do it but i
will always remember those. I started reading a writing at a young age. I was probably younger than
I could remember when my mother would read the short picture books to my while I lay in bed. One
book I remember was ¨The Very Hungry Caterpillar¨ by Eric Carle. I used to be in love with that
book I always thought that was the most interesting thing. Give or take I was only 2 years old. From
then on I read and read to the point where I was like Sonic reading all of those books. Nobody read
faster in my preschool, kindergarten and first grade classes. One day I was sitting in my
kindergarten class and teacher told us to go the library. We all had gotten in that single file line they
always made us get in. I hated that, it was always a nasty little competition to get to the front of the
line. We would walk all the way down to the library which felt like forever do to the never ending
talking and shushing game the teacher played with the one little rebel in the back of the line. When
we get within the library it always felt massive to me, could probably be due to the sheer massive
size I was. I was probably 4´2 80 pounds. I got my bright blue book marker and started to walk

Community Service At The Library
In June, while I was visiting the library to borrow some books and movies I saw a sign to sign up for
community service over the summer at the library. I took picture of the sign, and when I got home I
sent the library an email saying that I want to be part of the volunteering program this summer
which they replied to me and ask me to schedule an interview. The interview took place two days
consecutive, and there was a lot of teen that wanted to be part of the summer volunteering. When I
got to the interview, there was three other that also schedule an interview the same time with me
since they usually hold up four people for an interview. They asked me questions about my
participant at school, talent, experience, and skills. After they finished with the oral interviewing,
they told the four of us to take a short test on Dewey decimal which they had to do with the way the
library organize their items. When I got home, I wasn't sure if my interview was the best one or not
but I'm sure that if I don't get it, it's still an experience interview for me later in life. A few weeks
later, I got an email from the library saying that I got accepted into their summer volunteering
program, and they ask me to start on June 13, but I wasn't able to because I was in Los Angeles
attending my older brother graduation but I know that I was lucky to get in the program. They
rescheduled me to work on June 22 as my first day instead of June 13, 2016. When I came in to

Tools of Research
TOOLS OF RESEARCH
* Research Tool – is a specific mechanism or strategy the researcher uses to collect, manipulate, or
interpret data. * Research Methodology – is the general approach the researcher takes in carrying
out the research project, to some extent, this approach dictates the particular tools that the researcher
selects.
THE SIX GENERAL TOOLS OF RESEARCH 1. The library and its resources
For thousands of years, the library served primarily as a repository of books and manuscripts. It
was, for the most part, only a slowly expanding universe of knowledge, one that could be
comfortably contained within masonry walls.
In the 20th century, the role of the library changed. An explosion of information occurred. Research

For example, 40° C does not represent a temperature which has twice the heat of 20° C because the
zero on the Celsius scale is arbitrary, and does not represent an absence of heat. However, when we
consider the metric system for temperature (known as 'degrees Kelvin'), then there is a true zero
(called 'absolute zero'). Therefore, a measure of 40K (i.e. 40 degrees Kelvin) is twice as hot as 20K.
STATISTICAL PROBABILITY OF THE SCALE * Nominal Scale – enables one to determine the
mode, the percentage values, or the chi–square. * Ordinal Scale – enables one also to determine the
median, percentile rank, and rank correlation. * Interval Scale – enables one also to determine the
mean, standard deviation, and product moment correlation. * Ratio Scale – enables one also to
determine the geometric mean and percentage variation.
* VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY OF MEASUREMENT
Validity – the validity of a measurement instrument is the extent to which the instrument measures
what it is supposed to measure.
Reliability – is the consistency with which a measuring instrument yields a certain result when the
entity being measured hasn't changed. To apply these concepts to social research, we want to use
measurement tools that are both reliable and valid. We want questions that yield consistent
responses when asked multiple times – this is reliability. Similarly, we want questions that get
accurate responses from respondents – this is validity.

Teachers In To Kill A Mockingbird
Gavin Neils
3/8/17

Adora Svitak once claimed, "Any good teacher knows how important it is to connect with students
and understand our culture." In the book, To Kill a Mockingbird Jem and Scout are not given a good
education by the known teachers Ms. Gates and Ms. Caroline. Great teachers will connect with their
students. However, neither of these teachers care about their students in such a way most teachers
should. Both teachers have biased views on events around the world and do not try to connect with
their students. Teachers in Maycomb are not fit to teach elementary or middle school students.
Teachers in Maycomb talk about a lot of topics, except what problems are actually going on in
Maycomb. First of all, Ms. Caroline teaches the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At almost the very beginning of the book, when Scout first goes to school, Ms. Caroline says, "Now
you tell your father not to teach you anymore. It's best to begin reading with a fresh mind. You tell
him I'll take over from here and try to undo the damage". (23) Afterward, she says,"Your father does
not know how to teach. You can have a seat" (23). These lines from the teacher are not just flat out
mean to Scout, but she is also insulting Atticus by telling the whole class that he does not know how
to teach. Teachers should be respectful to each and every person they meet as an example to show
the children. Being rude to others is influencing the children in a bad way. Furthermore, Ms.
Caroline is teaching the children to be rude to get their way, which is corrupting their minds at a
young age. A good teacher will try to understand and connect with their children. However, Ms.
Gates and Ms. Caroline make no effort to try and do so.
In the book To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee shows us how defective the teachers in Maycomb
truly are. This is also true in the real world. Bad teachers like Ms. Gates and Ms. Caroline
sometimes influences what kind of people students become in their later lives. However, citizens of
Maycomb let this slide unseen, and that is why there are people like the Ewells in our society. If the
whole world had teachers like the ones from Wydown Middle School, our world would be a much
better place.

Persuasive Essay On Pornography

  • 1. Persuasive Essay On Porn Hub What's up guys? Anyone here like Seedless? Seedless? You here for the last batch? Probably not? So, subscribing to Porn Hub was probably one of the biggest mistakes of my life. I really wanted to get some of the HD porn, right? You can pay 29, 30 bucks a month, you can get all the videos of all the beautiful women on Porn Hub, and men as well. But they were doing this special one month, and it was one dollar. You can get access to all of Porn Hub premium. So, I went ahead and signed up because I obviously wanted to see what this is about, but I wanted to cancel. I'm not going to pay 30 bucks a month for porn. So, I called them up and this is how the call goes when you try to cancel your Porn Hub subscription. So you call them up, and it's ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What do you want to learn about, homeless man?" He said, "Library." So, we took him to the Los Angeles Public Library, Venice Library and we set him up with the librarian. We set him up with an interview with the librarian, and we were like, "All right, homeless guy, ask any question you want." "Can you sleep in the bathroom? Do you have anything against people sleeping in the library bathroom?" And the librarian just kind of looked at him, didn't really know what to say. We felt like the homeless guy might have been playing us at this point, but kept going. The next thing I asked the homeless guy was, "What else do you want to ask?" And he was kind of out of ideas. So I was like, "All right homeless guy, how are books stored in the library?" "The Dewey Decimal System?" He already knew. He already knew. He knew the whole time. The homeless guy was just trying to find a place to sleep indoors. It was a scam. Scammed us hard. Man. So we run a start up company ... probably getting sued right now. I hired these two sales guys, and they were roommates. That was the first mistake, but they worked together. They were roommates and basically two of the worst sales people that I've ever met in my life. They had a contract, but they went through, and they didn't work the entire time, fired them, gave them notice and everything, came back, and, yeah, they said they were gonna sue. So that's my life right now. Kind of feeling bad. Getting sued is one of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Miss Carolines First Day- to Kill a Mocking Bird Miss Caroline's first day * Her attitude to Maycomb and the school. * Her pupils (scout/Walter/Burris/Little chuck etc.) * Her teaching methods and there effectiveness. * Classroom management. * Key moments etc. Dear diary, I walked into the classroom to see all my new pupils, I was nervous at first but then Miss Maudie introduced me to the class and everything was fine. I wrote my name on the board and told them what it said and where I am from. The class just murmured back to me. Miss Blount is a native Maycombian as yet uninitiated in the mysteries of the Decimal System, appeared at the door hands on hips and announced that if she hears another sound from the room she'll up everyone in it.' She also told me the sixth grade couldn't concentrate on the pyramids because of the so called racket coming from my room. I did not appreciate her coming into my classroom and telling my pupils to be quiet. The bell then went for lunch everyone filed out I just sunk in my chair and put my head in my arms. A lot had happened in just half a day and there was still the afternoon to come. Everyone came back from lunch, I was standing in the middle of the room and I'm sure the children could see sheer horror flooding into my face when I saw the cootie crawling out of Burris Ewell's hair I screamed 'it's alive'. Little Chuck told me not to be afraid of a cootie and brought me back up to my desk and got me a drink of water. I really do not like cooties and insects so that's why I reacted in such a way. I took out a thick volume, leafed through its pages and read for a moment and told him a good home remedy for Burris. According to Robert's argument he also claims that the library system is for categorizing art books, his statement was that "every book creates order, individually and collectively. The order of a single book is a function of its written discourse, but the order of a group of books is greater than the sum of their texts. " (The Map of Art History, 30). By his statement he meant that books are disciplinary and hold so much order and control over society because of the knowledge it provides in history. All three careers are of high demand in the medical industry and each requires the need of basic classes, with a couple of varied courses, depending on the field. Additionally, medical billers must also have solid personal skills; customer service, patience, compassion and understanding when dealing with patients, physicians, hospital staff and other associated personnel is a must. Medical Coding Medical coding, on the other hand, deals more closely with patient medical records. Medical coders work in the billing office, or "back office" of medical practices or hospitals. Alphanumeric codes are assigned to all illnesses, injuries and treatments. Medical procedures are coded for the purpose of classifying diseases in numerical sequences for identification and data collection purposes, similar to the Dewey Decimal System in libraries. Error in reading comprehension, in this model, would occur if you as a reader were not decoding the message correctly, or if the writer was not encoding the message accurately or clearly. The writer, however, would have the responsibility of getting the message into the text, and the reader would assume a passive role. According to this view: 1. Reading has a Model 2. Reading is an Active, Constructive, and Meaning–Making Process 3. Reading is Multi–Level 4. Reading is Hypothesis Based 5. Reading is strategic a. They were originally passed down from one generation to another by word of mouth. The authors on folk tale books today are retelling these stories. Although, folk tales are sometimes based on real historical figures, there are fictional elements to the story. Tall tales are generally folk tales in which the main character is bigger than life in some way Examples would be Paul Bunyan, Mike Fink, Swamp Angel, etc. Fairy tales were often created to teach children behaviour in an entertaining way. Folk tales, tall tales, and fairy tales are found in most libraries in the non–fiction section with a Dewey decimal classification of 398. This particular technique was produced in Malaysia on 19th February 2011. The production period was four months and required one hundred and twenty crewmembers, six high–definition projectors, ten high–definition cameras, six cranes, one Hyundai accent car and one stunt man. The content involved graphics on a plain wall with an appearance of a building with huge gates. The gates open and the vehicle comes out. Schroeder explains that images are like fetishes; they are worshiped for their almost magical ability to conjure desire and delight. Dream like image is a concept used by marketers to pursue consumers, providing meaning in a myth–like way that in turn helps consumers relate with their brands (Schroeder, 2002,p.12). For example: Hyundai accent 3D–PM and Toyota Aruris 3D–PM have followed this very same concept in the creation of these events. As mentioned above in the description of Hyundai accent 3D–PM, viewers were stunned to notice the vehicle on the wall. This may have given them the feel of the products ability. Projection mapping allowed viewers to imagine with the help of graphic illusions. The essence clearly being "New thinking, new possibilities'. Similarly yet different Toyota Auris used the 'touch and feel' sensory to promote their projection mapping. Allowing viewers to vision the statement "get your energy back". Conclusion: When individuals in contemporary society engage with products they are principally employing them as 'signs' rather than 'things', actively manipulating them in such a way as to communicate information about themselves to others. It is commonly assumed that these individuals, in their capacity as consumers, engage with products in order to achieve 'self–construction', the purpose of their subjectivity. Í started at a young age with picture books and soon came into the big books. Ive done challenges and i have wrote for the school newspaper. I dont still do it but i will always remember those. I started reading a writing at a young age. I was probably younger than I could remember when my mother would read the short picture books to my while I lay in bed. One book I remember was ¨The Very Hungry Caterpillar¨ by Eric Carle. I used to be in love with that book I always thought that was the most interesting thing. Give or take I was only 2 years old. From then on I read and read to the point where I was like Sonic reading all of those books. Nobody read faster in my preschool, kindergarten and first grade classes. One day I was sitting in my kindergarten class and teacher told us to go the library. We all had gotten in that single file line they always made us get in. I hated that, it was always a nasty little competition to get to the front of the line. We would walk all the way down to the library which felt like forever do to the never ending talking and shushing game the teacher played with the one little rebel in the back of the line. When we get within the library it always felt massive to me, could probably be due to the sheer massive size I was. I was probably 4´2 80 pounds. International Happiness Day Presentation Triton College Library I've been volunteering at the Triton College Library since my first semester at Triton. I've learned several things, both personally and practically. I actually have past experience in volunteering at libraries. I used to volunteer at my high school's library for 3 years. Because of that I had learned the Dewey Decimal system along with laminating and helping students with requests. Those skills really came in handy during my time volunteering. I have considered pursuing library studies to become a librarian, but ultimately decided it wasn't for me. Nonetheless, I still enjoy volunteering ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although I didn't keep any because I didn't want to hoard books like I had in high school, I skimmed through some of them and it's amazing to think that these books had transcended tens of years. It made me wonder just how many people had held and read the book like I was at that moment, possible before I was even born. The staff at the library are very kind and supporting. They were always willing to help me when I needed it. They even offered me snacks and even planned a small goodbye party in their break room with cupcakes and flowers they had bought for me. I was touched and very grateful that they had planned and gone through the effort to plan a party for me when I had only been with them a semester. I learned more about them personally this semester compared to last semester. They still say hi to me occasionally when I go to the library and usually ask how I am. While I was helping out at the library, I realized just how many resources we have available to us students. I also noticed that most students didn't even know about them, much less how to access them. We had numerous events such as a computer coding workshop (for people of all ages) which I would have gone to if it wasn't for it being during one of my classes. I was also surprised to find that many of the librarians went to the events. One resource for example, is the online librarian chat where you can ask for help in finding sources, which was especially helpful ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee, Jean Louise (Scout) Finch–the narrator–lives with her brother, Jem, and their widowed lawyer of a father, Atticus, in Maycomb, Alabama. On one summer, the siblings befriend a boy named Charles Baker Harris (Dill) (who has visited for the summer), and the three soon begin to spark a fascination with the Radley Place–a cryptic and eerie house which is inhabited by a man named Arthur, although he is dubbed Boo–and begin to test Boo, even going into the yard, which leads Scout to believe that Boo is inhuman; for example, during the winter, Boo gives Scout a blanket without her noticing. The sheriff seems to get his way, and after sitting with Scout, who realizes that Boo is human, Boo returns once again to the Radley house. Following the incident, Scout has another epiphany–she realizes that it is important to practice kindness and understanding, as treating others with hatred, prejudice, and extreme bias would be worse than killing a mockingbird: "'Mockingbirds don't do one thing but make music for us to enjoy. They don't eat up people's gardens....they don't do one thing but sing their hearts out....That's why it's a sin to kill a mockingbird'" (Lee 103). 1. • 20. The Effects Of Sexual Behavior On The Human Male As scholarly reviews started to trickle in, it became clear that there were problems with Kinsey 's work. Reviewers complained that he ignored love, emotion, and the complexities of culture. However, the most damaging critiques focused on his sampling method; questioning whether the enormous number of people, he interviewed, were a true representation of the American population. Indeed this was not an idle question, given Kinsey 's predilection for recruiting college students, prostitutes, and prison inmates to participate in the study. He rigorously interviewed thousands of Americans about their sexual histories and practices. Sexual Behavior in the Human Male was published in 1948 (Kinsey, Pomeroy, & Martin, 1948). Some advocate the perpetuation of our ignorance because they fear that science will undermine the mystical concepts that they have substituted for reality. There appear to be more persons who believe that an extension of our knowledge may contribute to the establishment of better marriages (Kinsey, Pomery and Martin). Failure to recognize these differences in the needs of the two sexes for a regular sexual outlet may be the source of a considerable amount of difficulty in marriage (Brady). Many papers included complimentary copy, ranging from interviews with 'common people' about their attitudes toward 'the new sex book' to sermons that eluded to the fact that Kinsey was the equivalent of the devil himself. "d" Part 2 The book, "Ceremonial songs of the Creek and Yuchi Indians" is unique because it fits comfortably under classifications of history as well as music. For example, the provided Library of Congress Classification number shows it categorized with folk music from the American Indians and the Dewey Decimal Classification makes no reference to the musical aspect instead emphasizing the ties to the Creek Indians. This is problematic because if someone is not aware of the full topic or title and is seeking the book, they may disregard the music and be unable to locate the book in their search. Retrieval requires solid metadata, especially in these instances where one subject or classification is not enough to adequately describe the "aboutness" of the work. This is one argument in favor of increasing the reach of the semantic web and Linked Data to alleviate some of these problems. However, that system was created by Melvil Dewey, and while he was an important person, there was another Dewey that impacted education in extraordinary ways. That man is known as John Dewey. John Dewey shaped the education system that we have today by reconstructing the progressive education. Dewey was a philosopher, and educational theorist who used experimentalism, as well as many other theories to change the way the American Education system was done. He lived during the time period where traditional and progressive education were coming together, so he used both to create his own personal philosophies. Once of his major philosophies was relating learning to society. Additionally, he used dualism as an approach to his philosophies that changed the education system. He impacted today's education system in many ways, with his different ideas still being seen in school's today. Incorporating multiple subjects into school's, as well as taking a hand's on learning approach are two theories that while many other philosophers believed in as well, Dewey used to develop the education system. • 29. History, Philosophy And Miscellaneous Works Literature Review Libraries have a long history towards the ancient world as places used to keep important records such as clay tablets, transcripts and many texts. Many records were destroyed in the course of wars or purposely by some rulers with the changes in government. As a result, writing of literature as well as record keeping was encouraged where classification schemes were initiated to preserve those records of all times. The first formal classification was categorizing the writings into four types, the classics, history, philosophy and miscellaneous works. (Library, 2016). However, these broad categories didn't help much in guiding to access the increasing collection. The result was, introducing Dewey Decimal Classification as a scheme for the classification of the documents/ materials. (Library, 2016). Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) DDC was an invention of Melvil Dewey in 1876. He was an Assistant Librarian at Amherst College when he published DDC as "A Classification and subject index for cataloging and arranging the books pamphlets of a library". (Yoon, J. 2014). The system was formulated to organize the contents of the library based on the subject areas divided into 10 main groups where each group is given 100 numbers. For example, Religion belongs in 200 – 299. (DDC, 2016). This numerical classification gives identification for the item as well as a location tool which ensures the books under the same subject are kept together in a common area. (Wiercioch, ... Controlled Vocabulary Paper Introduction The organization of information is the part of the human psyche, we begin organizing images into "categories" from birth; and as we grow up we develop more complex organizational skills to "sort" out daily information (Taylor & Joudrey, 2009, p, 1). From there we are able to retrieve the information we have stored in our brains, when needed. Using that knowledge, how does one create a system that is capable of retrieving information for any particular user based upon their needs and ability? Since there is no two people just alike in mind or behavior, the idea of organizing the information into a functional system that will make sense to most people seems impossible. In McCutcheon's (2009) article, the concept of controlled vocabulary "relies on recognition from provided terms" (p. 63). Without controlled vocabulary the natural language that each person uses will be too chaotic to find any collocation within the collection. Natural language, according to Susan Feldman (1999), is referring to the way humans have learned to speak, pronounce and spell words in various ways. It's the way a New Yorker may talk or write in comparison to a Texan or a British person.
