3. In the photo-
shoot, I would like
to exaggerate the
image of the music
artist with the use
of a lavish cigar
and glass of
whisky. Thus
sending the image
of a laid-back but
serious and
capable artist.
Additionally, I would
like to capture the
expression we can see
on ‘Ice-cubes’ face in
the artists face. The
expression emanates a
‘cool’ ‘aggressive but
reserved’ attitude with
touches of arrogance.
Such an expression is
key in communication
the intended message.
For the idea to be complete,
a Doberman dog would be
necessary. The Doberman
would be stationed on the
right side of the artist (sat).
This dog represents a display
of authority which
exuberates from the artist
and the distinction of his
‘master’ role. As a result the
idea of the artist is no longer
just shallow titles but we
now see physical proof of his
dominance and character of
which I will try to display.

4. Trial & Error
For my music magazine I
looked at several other flat
plans first; to gain a firm
grasp of what type of flat
plans I can produce which
can tailor my rap/hip-hop
music genre magazine. One
flat plan (1) shows different
shapes and is most likely
suited for entertainment
magazines where as the
second flat plan (2) displays a
structure of formality for
rather information type of
magazine i.e. the news.

The target
audience the
magazine is
aimed at will be:
16-30 year olds.
My Magazine will initially cover in
depth; the Rap/Hip-hop music
genre. Distinctively it will carry a
lot of information regarding the
rap/ hip-hop music industry.
It will feature big stars but also up
coming rookies with potential.
And also indulge into recent
activities and events of the
industry. Leaking record label
sign-up’s, lightly touch on star
gossip and interviews.
The magazine will demonstrate a
straight-cut, informative and
exciting approach of the Rap/Hip-
Hop music industry.
