Grade 6 Research Paper
1.Grade 6. Making Boxes.
a.This activity gives students a chance to explore what a box looks like when it is in 'net' form. The activity encourages students to make their own net
of a box and then construct it. This could be the introduction to what nets are and how they can be represented when they make a 3D shape. This
website also has many other activities for students to do!

There are written expressions on cards that the students will cut out, and then they must match the expression with a representation of the expression.
There are 4 sketches that include the variables x, y, and an angle measurement and then there are 24 expressions. This will allow students to really get
an understanding of how multiple expressions can be represented by the same sketch. This resource also has MANY other activities related to common
core standards.

What Is Lack Of Branding And Marketing Strategy
Lack of branding and marketing presence. There is a lack of knowledge and understanding about Downtown. Too often, it appears that local residents
are not fully aware of what is available or happening Downtown. When visitors arrive, they are not given good information about Downtown or the
community as a whole. There is very little public information – what to do in New Castle – at U.S. Highway 6 and 24 and Castle Valley Boulevard, the
community's primary access intersection. Furthermore, it appears that too few people residing in nearby communities are fully aware of Downtown
New Castle. The few that do visit Downtown always seem to be "surprised" at how good the restaurants are and that it is a nice place.
The Town of New ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Downtown Improvement Plan and action strategy must include a branding and marketing effort that brings "the community" Downtown for
enjoyment and connection and "customers" Downtown for shopping, dining, and entertainment. A mixed–use downtown attracts patrons by being
multi–dimensional, since patrons attracted by one use or activity often cross over to others. For example, people going to the park will often shop or
eat, assuming that uses are sufficiently available. Solutions for Downtown must be more comprehensive in scope, including considerably more than
just making it look nice. The action plan must be designed to actively attract real estate developers/investors; it must seek to retain and expand existing
businesses and attract new businesses. There must be a rigorous and sustained branding and marketing effort.
10.Lack of a strong Gathering Place. It was noted in the strength section above that there is some hangout atmosphere Downtown. Hogback Pizza
and the Black Dog Saloon provide a good foundation for gathering. Black Dog Saloon occasionally provides weekend music, but it is not a regular,
dependable schedule. Burning Mountain Park is used for events and activities. In 2017, the Town will hold about 20 events in this park or nearby in
Downtown. Typically, larger events are attended by about 200 people.
As a society, we are moving into an age of "third places." The first place is the home, the second place is

Personal Narrative: A Career In Technology
"Technology alone is not enough...It's technology married with liberal arts, married with the humanities, that yields us the results that make our hearts
sing."
–Steve Jobs
I was in 10th grade the first time I picked up a copy of WIRED Magazine. In the dim light of my basement, the bright hues and sharp serif fonts of
the cover were obscured by a thick layer of dust. Searching for Christmas lights, I stumbled upon a stack of my father's technology magazines from
the late 1990s and early 2000s. In an instant, I was captivated by the bold cover designs and striking feature articles. Glossy photos of visionaries like
Steve Jobs and Richard Branson spread out before me, and articles detailing the birth of the iPod and the dream of private space travel held my
attention for hours on end. Fifteen–year–old me couldn't believe that there was a place where the cold, calculated nature of technology combined with
the nuances of written expression in such a beautiful way. My journey towards enlightenment had begun.
The experience was a humbling one. I was used to being told that I was the smart kid. The "gifted" one. The quick study. WIRED changed that. I had
always been interested in technology, but the discussions of different industrial design languages and computer operating systems, of aerodynamic
components that were being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For a while, WIRED was my biggest source of inspiration, until it ceased to exist. That was the last issue before the magazine changed editorial staff,
and the features I had known and loved became a memory. Later editions of the writing competition I had won were scrapped, and replaced with
pages of colorful advertising. I was heartbroken. Even though the magazine that inspired my ambitions is gone, I will always be indebted to it. I owe
my pursuits and motivations to WIRED

It's A Patriarchal World Analysis
It's a Patriarchal World:
An Analysis of the Differences in Success Based on Gender Discrimination Globally Privilege is a word that may be used in a plethora of contexts,
one of the least common, however, is the privilege of education and success. Privilege can be defined as an advantage that a person or group holds.
A common ideology is that education is a crucial necessity for a successful life, and it can be the deciding factor in one's attainment of a great career.
This ideology is astounding in theory, but crippling in reality. It is important to note the privilege of not only men, but to also include an intersectional
approach. Class, race, region, religion, and socioeconomic status can, and in most cases will, impact the level ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This in itself may cause girls to be hesitant to put forth a valiant effort in school. Progressing from elementary, through middle, and into high school,
young womxn begin to form their plans for the future; Usually one that has been tainted by gender discrimination. During high school, some young
womxn take on the feat of applying to colleges and universities. Womxn's colleges are some of the lesser known institutions of postsecondary education
in the Unites States. This is extremely crippling to womxn, because the same discrimination they faced in earlier educational settings, will only
intensify on a college level. Carlton (2017) defends womxn's colleges by stating:
A women's institution is a place where women can succeed, while surrounded by other driven and ambitious women... where education has a greater
purpose that encourages them to succeed in our patriarchal society...These institutions send women into the world to make a difference, promoting an
atmosphere where it is expected for women to make changes, and contribute to society. (p. 1)
Carlton addresses the importance of education by means surrounding oneself with people who face similar disadvantages. It is important to note that
many womxn's only institutions are beginning to accept trans womxn, trans men, and gender nonconforming people . These policies support the
multicultural feminist lense, by acknowledging the intersection between biological sex, gender, and

Maternal Health Essay
Preventing maternal deaths demands challenging social biases that drastically limit women's choices and deter husbands, fathers, health care providers
and policymakers from investing in women. Transforming these attitudes and behaviours requires working not only with women, but also with men to
demonstrate the benefits that gender equality brings to families and communities (UNFPA, 2012). In 2005, India, home to more than 50,000 maternal
deaths annually, intervened through the Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY), or the 'motherhood protection scheme', which focuses on incentivization of
institutional deliveries as a panacea to curb maternal mortality. Yet, India has failed to reduce the disproportionate spread of maternal deaths among...

Though these experiences gave me an experiential foregrounding of how development issues have multiple causes, I was yet to understand that within
the causal chain of a particular issue, which cause had a higher or lower degree of influence. The quest for understanding this puzzle motivated me to
pursue an M.A. in Gender & Development. The different modules equipped me to critically engage with different feminist theories and frameworks. I
was particularly intrigued by the concept of intersectionality. When I reflected on my past experiences through the lens of intersectionality, I realized
that the various forms of discrimination I observed, were part of a complex process and interacted with each other to compound the subordination of
girls and women. Additionally, I participated in a collaborative writing project with my classmates and professors, wherein I reviewed and analysed the
existing literature on health and accountability to understand whether and how authors had included notions of gender and intersectionality in their
papers.
During the M.A., the intersection of gender and health interested me the most. Within the domain, maternal health invoked a special interest in me, as

In Egypt, the urinary bladder cancers accounts for 30.3% of all cancers, of which the majority was squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) due to schistosomal
infection.[1] But in recent studies decrease in the incidence of SCC and increase transitional cell carcinoma

pathologies were measured.
The images analysis was divided into two parts:
Qualitative image analysis:
All MR images were evaluated in T2WI and DWI for site, size, and signal intensity of the tumor , and were interpreted blinded to histopathological
information.
Quantitative image analysis:
The ADC measurement is obtained by drawing region of interest (ROI) on the tumor.
Malignancy is suggested at ADC value of about #1X10–3mm2 /s.
Histopathological analysis:
All bladder tumors are classified by a pathologist in accordance with the 1997
International Union Against Cancer system and were defined by using the 1973 World
Health Organization classification.Tumors are classified into three grades: G1, the least degree of anaplasia; G2, an intermediate degree of anaplasia;
and G3, severe anaplasia.

–Improves the flowing movement of traffic from a low density to a high density road. Cons:
Cost implications for road widening is medium to high and this is a drawback
Road widening is a time dependent project to undertake and is not an immediate solution.
Lanes can only be kept to a width of 3 to reduce incompetent drivers from straddling the main street and the additional lane causing accidents.
Movable Barriers
The barrier system is one of the lower priority solutions to be considered as it is for straight roads. This project would require an alternative, however
it is a innovative alternative that is immediate and non–invasive.
Pros: – No need for destruction of existing and redesign
–A strong and durable solution for segregating traffic lanes. Long lasting if maintained correctly.
–Designed to protect traffic joining the new lanes in both directions. Cons:
Requires staff to be present all day, increased cost of operator
Lane width is dependent on the operation of the machine and how well trained and accurate the operator

Examples Of Intersections Of Multiple Measures
Examples of intersections of multiple measures in education: Intersection of two measures (Bernhardt): Is there a relationship between project–based
learning (School Process) and the perceptions of students of the learning environment (Perceptions)? What is the relationship between student
attendance (Demographics) and ACT Aspire scores (Student Learning)? Intersection of three measures (Bernhardt): Does project based learning
(School Processes) increase post–secondary success (Student Learning) of different genders (Demographics) in STEM (School Processes)? How does
an increase in remediation availability (School Processes) for ethnicities (Demographics) lead to an increase ACT scores (Student Learning)? Can
vertical curriculum alignment (School Processes) upset teacher moral (Perceptions) offsetting standards benchmark mastery (Student Learning)?
Intersection of four measures (Bernhardt) : How do the different attitudes (Perceptions) between girls and boys (Demographics) in different engineering
classes (School Processes) reflect on summative assessments (Student Learning)? How does teacher empowerment (Perceptions) by offering
professional development choice (School Processes) on formative assessment tools (Student Learning) utilized in the classroom relate to student

Social Class Vs Upper Class
In last Tuesday's class, the class in groups attempted to form the longest paper chain to obtain "extra credit points". Every group had scissors, but
some groups had tape, others had glue, and some had a stapler. Groups who used glue had shorter paper chains than people who used tape or stapler.
This shows that having or not having certain resources affects the degree you obtain a goal, which contributes to inequality among different groups in
society. For education, the amount of resources based on an individual's economic status impacts his or her academic success. If a person has a large
array of resources like private tutors and parents who are college graduates, he or she will be more likely to be more successful academically, such as ...

Ethnography About Myself
As Ralph Emerson once said, "To be yourself in a world that is trying to make you something else is a great accomplishment." This brings up the
question "who am I?" Before entering University, I always knew who I was as a person. I was like any other seventeen–year–old girl who went to
school, and spent time with her family and friends and had all the normal problems one has at that age. I worried about my grades, finding a job, and
my future. It was not until I started my first year at the University of Toronto did I begin to question my identity. By writing an ethnography about
myself, I will examine, how my ethnicity, gender and age interact with one another to impact my life and my relationship with the world.

I became aware of these dominant perceptions and discourses through the media and majority through my peers. In terms of my ethnicity, I do not
"fit" into most qualities and do not have certain interests my culture has. Thus I am looked down upon for these reasons. A study by Wendy Hoglund
and Naheed Hosan found that victimization of one's ethnicity correlated to depression, anxiety as well as physical aggression. While I have not been
physically aggressive, my first year of University was filled with a lot of discouragement and low self – esteem. This was influenced not only by my
academic endeavors but also because of my social situation. Regarding my gender and age, I have become aware of these intersections mainly through
the media and daily life. The perceptions have created numerous problems for me as they have lowered my self–esteem and constantly made me
question who I am. Intersectionality has aided me in understanding the ways in which my discourses have worked together to form my identity.
Further, it allows for one to comprehend the different areas of identity when understanding the aspects in how the social world is built (Hochreiter,
2014, pg. 51).Intersectionality has played a role in both the way I have experienced
others' perceptions and constructed my own sense of an
identity. By using both my own perceptions and others, I have constructed my identity in the way I know

A Research Study On The Null And Alternative Hypothesis
There are a variety of topics that are interesting in life. This interest may then become a point of inquisition, where an individual may formulate a
relationship between two variables, which may or may not influence each other. Next, a hypothesis is formed and tested. In this same manner, a school
educator was interested in determining the potential relationship between grade point average (GPA) and IQ scores among ninth graders. The educator
random sampled 30 ninth graders, ages 14 years old and administered the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children–Fourth Edition (WISC–IV). This
writer will be expanding further on this topic and will formulate the null and alternative hypothesis, describe the four scales of measurement, describe
whether if there is a correlation significant (positive, negative, or no correlation) enough between both variables, describe the strength of the
relationship, describe what the results reveals about the hypothesis, and what conclusions can be drawn from the results.
Null and alternative hypothesis The null hypothesis would reflect as if there is no difference between both variables (Malec & Newman, 2013). The
null hypothesis would indicate that there is no relationship between GPA and IQ. The alternative hypothesis would indicate another option, which is
contrary to the null and may or may not be directional (Malec & Newman, 2013). The alternative hypothesis would be, that there is a relationship
between GPA and IQ. This writer agrees with

This report analyses the whole process which is followed in order to make a personal decision related with the buy a hatchback for city driving: from
the identification and structuring of the problem to the appraisal of the alternative solution (French et all, 2009,pp 81).
As it happens in any imminent decision regarding a purchase, an assiduous market research is required. The brochures of the major automobile
companies and the car web sites constitute the main information source which will be used for the designation of the criteria and the elicitation of
their values. Due to the fact that the criteria which are taken into consideration are more than two, Multiple Criteria Decision Analysis(MCDA) will
be applied. The MCDA is supported by the use of the IDS software. The data and its calculation as well as any output of IDS tool, are presented
explicitly in the respective appendices.
2.Methodology
As it is referred above, the objective of this problem is to take a decision concerning the purchase of a new city car. For this reason, the article 'Best
city cars' from the website carbuyer.co.uk (2014) is very helpful as it provides the best ten city cars among which the final decision will be made. All
these city cars (alternatives) are available in different versions. Due to the limited budget (9000pounds) the decision making is focused on the
economical model, widely well–known as S trim level. In this selection problem the car

Surveillance Cameras On The United States
Introduction
In this paper, the following sections will be discussed in accordance the use of the Conflict theory: The history of the surveillance camera, The present
day use of the Surveillance Camera, Surveillance Camera use outside of the United States, When Surveillance cameras effect behavior, and When
Surveillance Cameras do not effect behavior. The use of Surveillance Cameras alters or sustains a person's behavior, based on the situation presented.
History
Present Day
Surveillance Camera use outside of the United States It is no surprise that surveillance cameras are used worldwide. However, do countries use them
the same way as the United States? Are they as accepted as in the United States? In this section, three different countries will be discussed; France,
Italy, and the United Kingdom; France will be discussed first. The French Government began to use the surveillance cameras during the 1990s.
During this time period, Government officials began drawing the attention of the public to use the cameras regularly, instead of having them "for
show." The only individuals, who used the cameras, were business owners (jewelers and banks). They used them to help protect their businesses from
crime. The reason these people only used them because the French public was in dispute of the privacy of the cameras. The people against questioned

Legally Blonde Stereotypes
Socialization is a key focus of our society. One of the ways we have tried to enforce gender socialization is through movies and television shows.
Movies from the last two decades are full of references to intersections of the different social problems. These movies both reinforce and challenge the
normalized assumptions about race, class, gender, etc. One movie that really challenges these normalized assumptions is Legally Blonde. By analyzing
this movies through a feminist lens, it is easy to identify the ways in which the movies does this. Legally Blonde addresses issues of intersectionality
with class and gender, tackling the issue of stereotyping against blonde women and the idea that to be successful you must be upper class.
Elle Woods portrays the typical blonde stereotype in Legally Blonde except for one detail. She's incredibly smart, with a 4.0 GPA and earning a

Should School Start Later Essay
Imagine, your brother gets in his car and starts driving to school. On his way he starts nodding off at the wheel. Every time he nods off there is a
chance something bad might happen, for instance he started changing lanes while dozing off. Your brother drifted off for one last time, his car would
crash at an intersection. Your brother in the accident received severe spinal damage resulting in even worse nerve damage. Brain damage and whiplash
were other injuries your brother sustained. These injuries would be so much for him that your family has to decide if you wanted to take him off life
support. Your family says their goodbyes to him and take him off life support. This all wouldn't have happened if school start times changed. School

Teenagers often have to cram study for tests and have to quickly do their homework because they have after school activities. This can cause the
quality of their material to decline rapidly. Often when test dates roll around students feel unprepared and stressed out. If school start times were
later students would be more prepared for tests and be able to manage their time better. They would be able to insure that their homework was
done to the best of their ability. Having a later start time would also insure that they would get more sleep, which benefits students by allowing
them to be able to think more clearly and be able to retain information better. Students often space out during class because they are tired from
getting up early and spending time the day before studying and doing homework. If the start time was later students can be more aware to the
material the teachers are going over and feel more comfortable with it. Having a later start time can also benefit the teachers academically. If the
start time was later teacher could feel more prepared about the material they need to cover throughout the day. Teachers would also be able to correct
homework and test faster providing an increase in time for their social life. Getting test and homework grades in faster can also allow students to feel
less stressed about their grades. For these reasons, if school were to have a later start time it could benefit students

Traffic Congestion At Janta Crossing Essay
пѓ For last four year, We are known about traffic congestion at Janta crossing which is at Vidhya nagar to GIDC road and NH

пѓ Reason behind it have many key features are there which are
1)Tirupati HP petrol pump
2)SBI bank (branch of GIDC)
3)ELECON group
4)Vegetable market
5)GIDC main entry road
6)AMAR Maruti car show room and service station

9)Vidhyanagar railway station Therefore, Traffic problems occur at this junction. During peak hours many times traffic conjunction problem occurs. It
has being observed that time is getting wasted and people don't reach on time to their destination to solve this problem we have selected this project.
Which cause many flow of vehicles in different direction at once.
пѓ Traffic congestion is no fun for anyone, but it's deadly for public transport. When buses and trams are stuck in traffic jams they fall behind schedule
and, because this means that more people will be waiting at the next stops, they fall even further behind schedule leading to bunching and compounding
delays. Bunched buses and delays make public transport unattractive for customers and increase operational costs, so congestion impacts on public
transport must be eliminated whenever possible.
пѓ Traffic Data Collection and projections thereof of traffic volumes are basic requirements for planning of road development and management

It's often given the description of homely. People want to bestow upon you a feeling that on your first visit, you'll fall in love (Trust me, you won't).
There are many roads leading into the small town of Middleville. Some twisting by the river, others curving around the valley. Some stretching for
miles over the never–ending farmland. And that's all the area is. Farmland, interrupted by a school and a village that is barely big enough to see on a
map.
A couple of housing areas, a grocery store, a forever changing ownership dealership, and family owned restaurants that all claim they are the best
around. The historical houses stand proudly not far from the village center, some still containing original work, but even more sporting modern
upgrades that cover the deteriorating structure. In the center, sits one side of the road filled with a bar, a bakery, and an ice cream parlor that serves
German food. Despite the amount of good food that fills the area, you never smell it. Instead you smell the farms that are almost a mile away. The

Car Accidents And Crashes Accidents
In the day and age that we live in, many of us have been involved in car accidents/crashes. From minor fender benders and head–on crashes, these
events are not uncommon. It's pretty safe to say that most accidents/crashes involve two cars. I too have been involved in a car crash, however,
instead of a typical crash involving two cars, mine involved a car and a bicycle... my bicycle. And before you may ask, no, I was not hit by a car. I
was the one who did the hitting. Allow me to set the scene. It was a beautiful spring day in late March of 2010 (my fifth grade year), and my friend
Josh and I were just lounging around my house, and we decided that it would be a good idea to race our bikes from Fourth Street by Valle and
Somewhere Inn Time down to Main Street, going down Jefferson Street. And as we were leaving the house, my mom reminded me to put my
helmet on. Of course, me being the naive child I was and jealous of all my friends who didn't have to wear helmets, this sparked a bit of an
argument. This was not a first time occurrence, but the one that I am most thankful for. Eventually, I succumbed to my mother's request, and
begrudgingly put on my helmet. After the dispute was settled, Josh and I rode our bikes to the starting line, we were on our marks, got set and went.
And so the race was on! I remember going fast enough so that I had to keep my feet off the pedals (so probably about 10–15 mph). Soon into this
contest of champions, my rival took the lead! We were

WINESBURG – In a room packed with concerned residents, engineers said it is safety, not a desire to cater to a single business, motivating a
Holmes County plan to redesign the intersection of U.S. Route 62 and County Road 160. A public viewing of the land Monday evening was
followed by a public hearing, at which Holmes County Engineer Chris Young acknowledged "change is always difficult." Nevertheless, he said, it's a
job his office is tasked with managing, in the midst of commercial and residential growth throughout the county. "My office works very hard to try and
minimize the effects of these road projects on our residents and communities. Frankly, it is never an easy job to balance the need for change with the

This improvement is being pursed to benefit the community and make a safer intersection for everyone that uses it." The project "From an
engineering standpoint, this project will greatly improve traffic flow and safety for trucks, cars and buggies that use this intersection," said
Young, adding, "The design will also dramatically improve safety for pedestrians that cross this intersection." The proposed plan will reduce the
vertical grade of County Road 160, which will include a flattened landing at the intersection, giving truck traffic a place to stop before pulling onto
U.S. 62. And, it will improve the turn radii, preventing drivers of large truck from having to enter the opposite lane of traffic to make their turn,
said Johnson, noting the improvement also should reduce the occurrence of stop sign violations. The Yoder family Randy and Susan Yoder have
lived at 2096 County Road 160 for 25 years. Their home sits along a curve which will be modified as part of the larger plan. It means construction
of a retaining wall in front of their home. "We're very agitated about it and we have no say," said Susan Yoder, noting their family's "home place" has

Cross Accessibility is a new piece of data being collected. Crossings classified according to the road class (grid, highway, or urban) and the
crossing class (public, private, or GS). Generally speaking, public crossings are inspected whereas private crossings are not; they are not under
MHI jurisdiction. However, if a private crossing is publicly used, it can be deemed appropriate to inspect. Moreover, where there is public right of
way crossing a rail right of way, even if there is no developed roadway, it is technically a public crossing. However, these undeveloped crossings are
not inspected, as there is no road. However, RPP wished to retain these data points. A crossing accessibility attribute's purpose is to further distinguish
public and private crossings so an inspector can know prior to visiting the site whether the grade crossing should be inspected or not. A crossing's
accessibility can be considered normal, publicly used (PU), or undeveloped (UD). GS, normal–private, and UD–public crossings are not inspected.
Normal–public and PU–private crossings are inspected. PU–public and UD–private crossings are not possible combinations. In the application, these
accessibility options will be unable to be selected once a crossing classification is chosen. For example, once a crossing is

Unit 27 : Site Surveying Essay
UNIT 27: SITE SURVEYING ASSIGNMENT NO 1
"Surveying is the art of determining the relative position of distinctive features on the surface of the earth or beneath the surface of the earth by means
of measurements of distances, directions and elevations."
TASK 1 :
CONTROL POINTS:
Control points are simply boundaries for effective administrations .They are also known as survey marks. The marking for survey defence facilities,
geodetic surveying , cadastral collection, mining area, woodland, stream way, railway, road, sea, sea route are all different types of SURVEY MARKS.
BASIC CONTROL POINTS:
Basic control points are simply the survey marks of stones or piles buried for reference by the authority. The stones or piles for reference in basic
control pints are part of ancient survey. The modern survey involves Global Positioning System for reference .
TRAVERSING: Traversing in survey is used to establish control network. Traverse consists of survey station. It is used to establish new control
points with the reference of old control points. Traverse is accurate than triangulation. The efforts needed for traversing is also less in terms of
organization and reconnaissance. Traverse can occupy any shape unlike triangulation and hence it can occupy any area and terrain for survey. Types of
Traversing: 1. Open Traversing–
Open Traverse consists of series of linked traverse that do not come back to the initial points.

Narrative Experience In High School
School was never fun for me. Everyday my parents would pull me out of bed while I pretended to sleep, or while I complained and fought. I would
shove my pants on first, then stretch my shirt over my head, and then to finish it off I would tuck my pant legs into my socks; that's what all the
baseball players did. All day I stared out whatever window I could find, waiting for the magical, "RRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIINGGGGGGG" to sound
so I could go explore with my friends. On the Friday of the school year and my mind was full of the amazing things I would when I was finally free
from my prison. I was staring outside when the words "story time " shattered my day dream. I had heard all about Ms. Robinson's amazing stories
from my older sister, and now I would finally hear one for myself. She told about the way teenage kids would come to her street on Halloween and
roll huge pumpkins down her even bigger hill, straight into an intersection. Not only could I not stop paying attention to Ms. Robinson's story at
that moment, but for the rest of the school year I looked forward to every day of school, in hope of another gripping story. 6th Grade The day was
bright and sunny, possibly the nicest one since spring had ended and fall had begun. That day I was with friend whose house we went to nearly
every day after school. We had gone down to the park with our cheap plastic skateboards, flying around helmetless and padless, all but asking for
trouble. I decided that I wanted to do something cool so I slammed my back foot down on the tail of the board but instead of being propelled up,
the board was thrown straight out sideways leaving me horizontal, falling in the air. The next thing I new I was in the hospital with a rainbow cast
plastered on my left arm. Months later I got the cast off and went through weeks more of physical therapy to regain range of motion and strength.
On the final session I learned that I would no longer ever be able to rotate my wrist. I learned I wouldn't be able to play guitar again or go
snowboarding. That day I said to myself, "I won't ever do something so stupid again". 7th Grade Ms. S was my history teacher for a year in 7th grade.
From the first time I walked into that class I could not think of

State Farm, the nation's largest auto insurer, distributed a list of the 10 most dangerous intersections in the United States based on crashes resulting in
claims by its policyholders. What started as a study to reduce risk turned into an ongoing study that directs a major public relations effort: State Farm
provides funds for communities to further research their dangerous intersections and initiate improvements based on the research. This case tells you

"The reporting threshold for police filing reports on accidents differs widely from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. Some will only fill out reports when
personal injury or criminal behavior is involved. Others will fill them out only when a vehicle is damaged to the degree that it needs to be towed from
the scene. Still others fill out such reports on every incident. Traffic volume reports are often prepared infrequently and often by independent sources.
Not only may the data quality be questionable, but the time period in which the data was collected may not match our 1998 incident reports in every
city involved. Also, when traffic volumes are factored in, low volume roads with relatively few crashes are often deprioritized. Now that we're through
with the 2001 study, we are asking ourselves if intersection volume should be factored in, and if so, how it can be included without significantly
increasing our effort in data processing."
In the 1998 study, State Farm identified 172 dangerous intersections. The top 10 most dangerous intersections in the United States were released
publicly
(www.statefarm. com). Public affairs staff for each state could request that up to
10 intersections be identified for their state. "This was usually determined by the resources that our local public affairs staff were willing to put toward
the program," shared Nepomuceno. "Each state had to recognize a top 10 national intersection, but they could

The Properties Of Soft Multi Sets
Abstract–In this paper we define some properties of soft multi sets. We also define soft multi set topology, its interior exterior, boundary and their
properties. We establish several important results in mathematical modeling of spacial objects using fuzzy soft interior, fuzzy soft exterior, fuzzy soft
boundary.
Keywords–Fuzzy Sets, Soft Sets, Multi Sets, Fuzzy Topology.
I.INTRODUCTION (Heading 1)
We may have to face vagueness in most of the engineering, physics, computer sciences, economics, social sciences, environmental science and medical
sciences problems. These may be due to the uncertainties of natural environmental phenomena, incompleteness of human knowledge about the real
world or due to the limitations of the means and methods used to take measurements. We can see vagueness or uncertainty when we decide the
boundary between the continents or between different seas, when the growth rate of population in a country 's rural area is determined or when we
make decisions using database information. In all these cases classical set theory, which is based on crisp concept will not furnish the exact information.
The mathematical ideas like probability theory, fuzzy sets [12], rough sets [10] are well known as effective models for dealing with such uncertainties.
However, each of them has distinguished advantages as well as certain limitations. Fuzzy sets fail to parameterize a value.
Molodtsov [7] introduced a completely new approach for modeling vagueness and

Reflecting on the Intersections of Socioeconomic Status and Race: The Role of Teachers and Staff Members of Urban High Schools
Introduction
A study conducted by Miller, Rainie, Purcell, Mitchell, & Rosenstiel (2012), for the Pew Research Center, evaluated different community
types–including urban, suburban, small town and rural communities–on various measures, including education levels, income levels and racial and
ethnic makeup of their populations. What was found in regard to the differences between these communities was that suburban areas, in comparison to
urban areas, have higher income and education levels. Large cities, or urban areas, were found to have one of the highest rates (35% of the population)
of income levels below ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In light of this information about the demographics and outcomes of urban populations, along with the readings discussed in lecture pertaining to these
populations, the purpose of this paper will be to explore the intersections of race and socioeconomic status of urban high school students. Lastly, this
paper will explore how teachers and staff of these high schools may be able to better serve these students by knowing their histories of oppression,
advocating for success, and promoting change.
Socioeconomic Status
Since urban areas, and subsequently urban high schools, have a high population of low–income residents, it is important to explore how this aspect of
their social status has affected these individuals historically. According to Mantsios (2006) a majority of theUnited States (60 percent) hold less than 6
percent of the wealth. What is more, one in eight people live below the federal poverty level Mantsios (2006). This is important, because class level
is strongly correlated with educational outcomes and success, which can be explained by class domination Mantsios (2006). Essentially, people who
are born into wealthy families versus poor families have more opportunities provided to them on the basis of their class status or familial connections
Mantsios (2006). Take for instance the example Schmidt (2007) given of white students with mediocre grades getting into Ivy League

Advanced Computational Problem Solving
My middle school self spent her evenings in front of a music stand for which she was already too tall. I would dive into that week's clarinet etude,
punctuating the tune with squeaks and wrong notes, still full–mentally and physically–from the dinner table offerings, food and academic discussion.
My parents expected my sounds only to improve. But then, in grade ten, I attacked multiphonics, playing more than one note at a time, and erased that
hope for improvement. To make up for my inability to master the technique, I became an expert on the theory, which surprisingly contained
mathematical concepts. Two notes that sound good together have very simple ratios of frequencies. The notes I'd play together probably had ratios
somewhere around 453/920. But I liked the theory more anyway. The noises made the math real. I started listening for matching frequencies, and would
agitate my band friends by blurting out fractions in the middle of songs.
In grade eleven I was accepted to a residential STEM high school on a college campus. While I continued to play my clarinet ... Show more content on

existence of actual infinities is my star accomplishment from the course, but I'm sure I'd find some way to refine my argument if I took JHU's

  • 1. Grade 6 Research Paper 1.Grade 6. Making Boxes. a.This activity gives students a chance to explore what a box looks like when it is in 'net' form. The activity encourages students to make their own net of a box and then construct it. This could be the introduction to what nets are and how they can be represented when they make a 3D shape. This website also has many other activities for students to do! http://mathcentral.uregina.ca/RR/database/RR.09.99/sawatzky1/teachnotes–geo.html#newts Standards: 6.G.4 Represent three–dimensional figures using nets made up of rectangles and triangles, and use the nets to find the surface area of these figures. • 3. What Is Lack Of Branding And Marketing Strategy Lack of branding and marketing presence. There is a lack of knowledge and understanding about Downtown. Too often, it appears that local residents are not fully aware of what is available or happening Downtown. When visitors arrive, they are not given good information about Downtown or the community as a whole. There is very little public information – what to do in New Castle – at U.S. Highway 6 and 24 and Castle Valley Boulevard, the community's primary access intersection. Furthermore, it appears that too few people residing in nearby communities are fully aware of Downtown New Castle. The few that do visit Downtown always seem to be "surprised" at how good the restaurants are and that it is a nice place. The Town of New ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Downtown Improvement Plan and action strategy must include a branding and marketing effort that brings "the community" Downtown for enjoyment and connection and "customers" Downtown for shopping, dining, and entertainment. A mixed–use downtown attracts patrons by being multi–dimensional, since patrons attracted by one use or activity often cross over to others. For example, people going to the park will often shop or eat, assuming that uses are sufficiently available. Solutions for Downtown must be more comprehensive in scope, including considerably more than just making it look nice. The action plan must be designed to actively attract real estate developers/investors; it must seek to retain and expand existing businesses and attract new businesses. There must be a rigorous and sustained branding and marketing effort. 10.Lack of a strong Gathering Place. It was noted in the strength section above that there is some hangout atmosphere Downtown. Hogback Pizza and the Black Dog Saloon provide a good foundation for gathering. Black Dog Saloon occasionally provides weekend music, but it is not a regular, dependable schedule. Burning Mountain Park is used for events and activities. In 2017, the Town will hold about 20 events in this park or nearby in Downtown. Typically, larger events are attended by about 200 people. • 4. Personal Narrative: A Career In Technology "Technology alone is not enough...It's technology married with liberal arts, married with the humanities, that yields us the results that make our hearts sing." –Steve Jobs I was in 10th grade the first time I picked up a copy of WIRED Magazine. In the dim light of my basement, the bright hues and sharp serif fonts of the cover were obscured by a thick layer of dust. Searching for Christmas lights, I stumbled upon a stack of my father's technology magazines from the late 1990s and early 2000s. In an instant, I was captivated by the bold cover designs and striking feature articles. Glossy photos of visionaries like Steve Jobs and Richard Branson spread out before me, and articles detailing the birth of the iPod and the dream of private space travel held my attention for hours on end. Fifteen–year–old me couldn't believe that there was a place where the cold, calculated nature of technology combined with the nuances of written expression in such a beautiful way. My journey towards enlightenment had begun. The experience was a humbling one. I was used to being told that I was the smart kid. The "gifted" one. The quick study. WIRED changed that. It's A Patriarchal World Analysis It's a Patriarchal World: An Analysis of the Differences in Success Based on Gender Discrimination Globally Privilege is a word that may be used in a plethora of contexts, one of the least common, however, is the privilege of education and success. Privilege can be defined as an advantage that a person or group holds. A common ideology is that education is a crucial necessity for a successful life, and it can be the deciding factor in one's attainment of a great career. This ideology is astounding in theory, but crippling in reality. It is important to note the privilege of not only men, but to also include an intersectional approach. Progressing from elementary, through middle, and into high school, young womxn begin to form their plans for the future; Usually one that has been tainted by gender discrimination. During high school, some young womxn take on the feat of applying to colleges and universities. Womxn's colleges are some of the lesser known institutions of postsecondary education in the Unites States. This is extremely crippling to womxn, because the same discrimination they faced in earlier educational settings, will only intensify on a college level. Carlton (2017) defends womxn's colleges by stating: A women's institution is a place where women can succeed, while surrounded by other driven and ambitious women... where education has a greater purpose that encourages them to succeed in our patriarchal society...These institutions send women into the world to make a difference, promoting an atmosphere where it is expected for women to make changes, and contribute to society. Maternal Health Essay Preventing maternal deaths demands challenging social biases that drastically limit women's choices and deter husbands, fathers, health care providers and policymakers from investing in women. Transforming these attitudes and behaviours requires working not only with women, but also with men to demonstrate the benefits that gender equality brings to families and communities (UNFPA, 2012). In 2005, India, home to more than 50,000 maternal deaths annually, intervened through the Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY), or the 'motherhood protection scheme', which focuses on incentivization of institutional deliveries as a panacea to curb maternal mortality. Yet, India has failed to reduce the disproportionate spread of maternal deaths among... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The quest for understanding this puzzle motivated me to pursue an M.A. in Gender & Development. The different modules equipped me to critically engage with different feminist theories and frameworks. I was particularly intrigued by the concept of intersectionality. When I reflected on my past experiences through the lens of intersectionality, I realized that the various forms of discrimination I observed, were part of a complex process and interacted with each other to compound the subordination of girls and women. Additionally, I participated in a collaborative writing project with my classmates and professors, wherein I reviewed and analysed the existing literature on health and accountability to understand whether and how authors had included notions of gender and intersectionality in their papers. During the M.A., the intersection of gender and health interested me the most. Within the domain, maternal health invoked a special interest in me, as India accounts for the maximum maternal ... Every group had scissors, but some groups had tape, others had glue, and some had a stapler. Groups who used glue had shorter paper chains than people who used tape or stapler. This shows that having or not having certain resources affects the degree you obtain a goal, which contributes to inequality among different groups in society. For education, the amount of resources based on an individual's economic status impacts his or her academic success. I was like any other seventeen–year–old girl who went to school, and spent time with her family and friends and had all the normal problems one has at that age. I worried about my grades, finding a job, and my future. It was not until I started my first year at the University of Toronto did I begin to question my identity. In terms of my ethnicity, I do not "fit" into most qualities and do not have certain interests my culture has. Thus I am looked down upon for these reasons. A study by Wendy Hoglund and Naheed Hosan found that victimization of one's ethnicity correlated to depression, anxiety as well as physical aggression. While I have not been physically aggressive, my first year of University was filled with a lot of discouragement and low self – esteem. This was influenced not only by my academic endeavors but also because of my social situation. Regarding my gender and age, I have become aware of these intersections mainly through the media and daily life. The perceptions have created numerous problems for me as they have lowered my self–esteem and constantly made me question who I am. Intersectionality has aided me in understanding the ways in which my discourses have worked together to form my identity. Further, it allows for one to comprehend the different areas of identity when understanding the aspects in how the social world is built (Hochreiter, 2014, pg. 51).Intersectionality has played a role in both the way I have experienced

This interest may then become a point of inquisition, where an individual may formulate a relationship between two variables, which may or may not influence each other. Next, a hypothesis is formed and tested. In this same manner, a school educator was interested in determining the potential relationship between grade point average (GPA) and IQ scores among ninth graders. The educator random sampled 30 ninth graders, ages 14 years old and administered the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children–Fourth Edition (WISC–IV). This writer will be expanding further on this topic and will formulate the null and alternative hypothesis, describe the four scales of measurement, describe whether if there is a correlation significant (positive, negative, or no correlation) enough between both variables, describe the strength of the relationship, describe what the results reveals about the hypothesis, and what conclusions can be drawn from the results. Null and alternative hypothesis The null hypothesis would reflect as if there is no difference between both variables (Malec & Newman, 2013). The null hypothesis would indicate that there is no relationship between GPA and IQ. Movies from the last two decades are full of references to intersections of the different social problems. These movies both reinforce and challenge the normalized assumptions about race, class, gender, etc. One movie that really challenges these normalized assumptions is Legally Blonde. By analyzing this movies through a feminist lens, it is easy to identify the ways in which the movies does this. Legally Blonde addresses issues of intersectionality with class and gender, tackling the issue of stereotyping against blonde women and the idea that to be successful you must be upper class. From minor fender benders and head–on crashes, these events are not uncommon. It's pretty safe to say that most accidents/crashes involve two cars. I too have been involved in a car crash, however, instead of a typical crash involving two cars, mine involved a car and a bicycle... my bicycle. And before you may ask, no, I was not hit by a car. I was the one who did the hitting. Allow me to set the scene. It was a beautiful spring day in late March of 2010 (my fifth grade year), and my friend Josh and I were just lounging around my house, and we decided that it would be a good idea to race our bikes from Fourth Street by Valle and Somewhere Inn Time down to Main Street, going down Jefferson Street. And as we were leaving the house, my mom reminded me to put my helmet on. Of course, me being the naive child I was and jealous of all my friends who didn't have to wear helmets, this sparked a bit of an argument. This was not a first time occurrence, but the one that I am most thankful for. Eventually, I succumbed to my mother's request, and begrudgingly put on my helmet. After the dispute was settled, Josh and I rode our bikes to the starting line, we were on our marks, got set and went. And so the race was on! I remember going fast enough so that I had to keep my feet off the pedals (so probably about 10–15 mph). Soon into this contest of champions, my rival took the lead! We were ... The proposed plan will reduce the vertical grade of County Road 160, which will include a flattened landing at the intersection, giving truck traffic a place to stop before pulling onto U.S. 62. Some will only fill out reports when personal injury or criminal behavior is involved. Others will fill them out only when a vehicle is damaged to the degree that it needs to be towed from the scene. Still others fill out such reports on every incident. Traffic volume reports are often prepared infrequently and often by independent sources. Not only may the data quality be questionable, but the time period in which the data was collected may not match our 1998 incident reports in every city involved. Also, when traffic volumes are factored in, low volume roads with relatively few crashes are often deprioritized. We also define soft multi set topology, its interior exterior, boundary and their properties. We establish several important results in mathematical modeling of spacial objects using fuzzy soft interior, fuzzy soft exterior, fuzzy soft boundary. Keywords–Fuzzy Sets, Soft Sets, Multi Sets, Fuzzy Topology. I.INTRODUCTION (Heading 1) We may have to face vagueness in most of the engineering, physics, computer sciences, economics, social sciences, environmental science and medical sciences problems. These may be due to the uncertainties of natural environmental phenomena, incompleteness of human knowledge about the real world or due to the limitations of the means and methods used to take measurements. We can see vagueness or uncertainty when we decide the boundary between the continents or between different seas, when the growth rate of population in a country 's rural area is determined or when we make decisions using database information. My parents expected my sounds only to improve. But then, in grade ten, I attacked multiphonics, playing more than one note at a time, and erased that hope for improvement. To make up for my inability to master the technique, I became an expert on the theory, which surprisingly contained mathematical concepts. Two notes that sound good together have very simple ratios of frequencies. The notes I'd play together probably had ratios somewhere around 453/920. But I liked the theory more anyway. The noises made the math real. I started listening for matching frequencies, and would agitate my band friends by blurting out fractions in the middle of songs. In grade eleven I was accepted to a residential STEM high school on a college campus. While I continued to play my clarinet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My math courses showed me that the recursive algorithms I created for my roller coaster simulator project in the course were based on mathematical induction, a fundamental proof technique. This connection, like the reedy multiphonics of my clarinet, made math like an amusement park ride, literally and figuratively. Later, the static matrices I learned to manipulate in linear algebra danced across the screen when I used them for a message–encoding program. In addition, the Philosophy of Religion essay in which I tied mathematical asymptotes into my argument for the possible existence of actual infinities is my star accomplishment from the course, but I'm sure I'd find some way to refine my argument if I took JHU's "Mathematics of Infinity" or "Religion and/or Science" ...
