Tom And Bobo
There once was an old man named Bobo. Bobo had no friends, as he pushed everyone away, and all
his relatives were dead. He lived in a small house in a small village, and while all the other villagers
were partying and chatting about their lives, Bobo went out for a stroll, as he did each morning.
"Good morning Mr. Bobo!" A small boy, Tom, exclaimed when he saw the old man walking along
the path that leads out of the village. "And where are you heading, Mr. Bobo?" Tom asked. "None of
your concern little boy." Bobo responded with a tone that said that he was not quite enjoying the
presence of the child. Bobo briskly walked past Tom, who was hurt by his tone. Tom has been, of
course, just trying to be friendly as he was taught by his father. Bobo continued to walk down the
path, as he did each morning, and each time he saw a person, he pushed them away, creating an even

They found the dead body of Bobo inside the house. Bobo died without any companions, without
anyone to care about him, without anybody by his side in his final hours. Bobo shut people out, let
no one in, and sadly, no one cared. The villagers cleared Bobo's body, demolished his house, and
built a public school where his house used to be. Bobo led a lonely life, and died a lonely life. No
one remembered Bobo. No one cared about Bobo. Even Tom, who originally cared about Bobo lost
all feeling to the old man.
This may be just a short story, but it has a hint of truth to it. Companionship can make life a lot more
fun and enjoyable, and with friends, you have someone to care about you, so that when you are at
your final hours, you have people by your side, people that you care about, people that care about
you. Bobo learned this lesson too late, but it's not too late for you. Make friends, have fun, and most
importantly, gain and give

Persuasive Essay On Organ Donation
"C'mon man it's not that bad. The doctors are searching for a donor as we speak." continued
Harrison. "What do I always tell you? Never lose hope buddy. We'll get through this together" he
promised.
"You're dying," said Oliver with a stutter.
"Yes, but only for now. Ollie, we'll be okay trust me," reassured Harrison.
"This isn't happening" replied Oliver as he ran out of the room into the hallway. Hurriedly, he went
to find the doctor who was overseeing his friends recovery. When he found him, Oliver grabbed the
doctor by the wrist and pulled him into room 513.
"Tell me this is some kind of sick twisted joke" shouted Oliver.
"What are you talking about?" responded the doctor with a confused look on his face.
"Calm down Ollie" added Harrison.
"Then tell me whats going on!" screamed Oliver.
"Your friend has been left without kidneys as a result of kidney disease that was spurred by frequent
abuse of alcoholic substances." explained the doctor calmly. "He has two weeks to live tops.
Unfortunately, he is expected to be at the top of the organ donation waiting list in about a month and
a half," he added with perfect composure. "A month and a half?" shouted Oliver with great
frustration. "He's going to die! You can't let him die, doctor!"
By now a group of concerned patients and doctors were gathering outside the door of room 513
"Unfortunately there is nothing I can do to help your friend Mr. Brooks" replied the doctor keeping
his calm demeanour.

Dead Leg Research Paper
The Dead Leg
It was a sunny, brisk, winter day here at North Dickinson. I was in the 5th grade and I was walking
on the sledding hill looking for my best only and only friend at the time. I was walking back and
forth on the top of the hill in search for her. I was so distracted looking for her, I didn't see where I
was going, and my right leg slipped into a hole and twisted my ankle, or so I thought.
The next morning as I went to rise out of bed, I stood up and fell over. My ankle hurt so bad, I was
unable to stand. I yelled for my mother to come in my room to help me back to my bed. She
examined my ankle and decided to take me into the emergency room. My mom and my sister helped
me to the car and to the hospital we went.
We arrived at the hospital and my mother ran inside and grabbed me a wheelchair. We were
admitted to a room very quickly, my dad does business with the hospital so we have connections.
They took me to the x–ray room ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I was missing a piece out of my bone so my bone stopped growing, it basically died. The doctor said
that I need to keep the medical boot on for awhile and my bone will eventually grow back. My leg
will return to my original form, but I will not be able to grow like I was normally supposed to.
It was the longest two months of my young life. When my leg was finally starting to grow back and
the pain was minimized, I tried to walk. I was standing and I couldn't move, I forgot how to walk. I
had to learn how to walk again, my mom would hold my hand around the house and taught me how
to walk. I was finally walking again about two and a half months after I stepped in the hole. I can
now walk and run just fine, I am short because of my injury, but I am just thankful I can walk again.

Louise Beal: A Narrative Fiction
Louise Beal was done. She was worn out. She was over it. Louise tired and coming home from
work. When she turned down her street and saw cop cars and ambulances everywhere, with blue and
red lights flashing and sirens blaring, Louise got scared, worried for her children's safety. She got
increasingly more worried as she got closer to her lifeless, dull home, when she saw Ian's
commodore out the front she broke into a hysterical run. The police officers looked at her, their
faces showing sympathy and concern. She only stopped running when she got to the front door,

I shot him dead first, right through the heart. Just like I killed the possum few months back." Tim
said in an aggravated tone, getting fed up. Louise paled when she heard that. When did Tim kill a
possum? And where the hell did he get a gun from. Louise faintly heard the doctor tell Tim that Ian
did, in fact, shoot him, but Louise had blocked out everything. Kirsty's death finally catching up to
her. This whole situation was finally getting to her. Hearing that Tim had shot Ian and killed a poor
innocent possum, this was all too much. Louise didn't even realise she had started screaming
hysterically, her hands almost shattering the arms of the chair and her knuckles going white. She
was as stiff as a board. Louise could no longer hear Doctor Smith, she could no longer see Tim's
pale skin and dark eyes. Louise collapsed, she just laid curled into a ball on the ground screaming.
All around her nurses were rushing, trying to sedate her. Finally someone did sedate her and
everything went quiet. Tim had also passed out, but not before repeatedly saying Kirsty's name like
it was his own personal mantra and the Doctor deciding that both Tim and Louise needed a psych

A Story Of A Short Story
As the sun descends from the snowy mountains in Russia. village folks began to return to their
homes to begin their nightly tasks. Children skipped happily back to their homes as their parents
calls them back in for supper. Adults finish closing their shops and return home to create dinner. It
was a normal day in the village for all, but one. Anna observes the village below and sighs. Her jet
black hair dances in the frosty wind as she peers at the people below. It became an unhealthy habit
for her mental state, but she couldn't do much else but relive the awful memory of her unfair, biased
banishment. Her electric blue eyes bore on the happy children prancing at the big frozen lake, and
she sighs again, her breath visible in the wind. It was a wonder Anna survived the harsh conditions
of the northern mountaintops. Her pale skin was littered with scratches, showing the pain of living in
such jarring circumstances. After months of her banishment, many presumed she had died in the
terrifying wilderness. Rather then show any sorrow for the terribly misunderstood woman, they used
her story as a story to scare children at night. But Anna knew better then to interfere. In the large
mountain, with it's thick forests, Anna luckily found an abandoned small cabin, which she called
home. It was empty when she discovered it, but provided a very good defense against the brutal
winds. Food was a problem at first, until Anna decided to run to a nearby village to get her hands on

On a sunny warm day a stork came flying over the village carry a child. The stork kept hovering
over the village and finally drops the child. From the day I got dropped off in front of the castle I was
known as Earl Of Derwintwater . I was adopted by the king and his wife since I was dropped from

lived in the castle with the king and queen of Derwintwater. I was going to be the next king of
Derwintwater after my father passes on. Every Sunday morning the family would get up and go to
Church. We were all Catholics basically that's because we had only one Church in the village of
Derwintwather. I never had a choice to choose what religion I wanted to have. After church my
family would get in the royal cart and smack the horse and go back to the castle. We then would all
sit down hand have a nice Sunday dinner. We ate grape pudding, stuffed piglet, roe deer, and we
drank almond milk with the dinner. On a cloudy gloomy rainy day things in the village went crazy.
We found out that we were being stolen from. Now how on earth could they have gotten into the

kidnapped and valuable treasure had been stolen also from the castle. We set out to search for my

Everything was just going through my head. I did not know who could have done this. The rich

Theme Of Evil In The Pearl
Even though something may seem good it could be evil, evil is always in disguise. In The
novella "The pearl', the pearl seemed like it was good only because when they were to sell the

The Use Of Force Analysis
"The Use of Force" by William Carlos Williams is told from the first–person point of view which
allows a reader to see the changes in the doctor's mind as he transitions from professional to
completely unprofessional. The doctor goes from being a professional concerned with a young girl's
health to an animalistic, pedophilic, instinct–driven person. At the beginning, the doctor goes to the
patient's home where he is met with a poverty–stricken family. The family is clean despite their
living conditions. The parents are very concerned for their daughter's health as the doctor notes they
are spending three dollars on his visit to know what is wrong with her. The young girl, named
Matilda, has had a fever and the doctor knows that there has been ... Show more content on

At the beginning of the story, the doctor can not help but notice the young girl's attractiveness and
her "magnificent blond hair, in profusion". He notes that her looks are those of advertisement
worthy children and that her stare infatuates him. Later during "the battle" the doctor puts a phallic
tongue depressor in the child's throat to which she fought so desperately with clenched teeth she
ended up breaking the tongue depressor in her mouth and caused it to start bleeding. The doctor,
instead of acknowledging that he is actually hurting Matilda, becomes furious at her and thinks "I
tried to hold myself down but I couldn't". This is a young girl bleeding from the mouth and a vision
of pure terror, yet the doctor only becomes more violent, determined and aroused by the power. The
doctor thinks to himself that he knows he should have let the child be and have tried again in an
hour or so when she had calmed down, yet his instincts tell him "we're going through with this.".
The doctor is fully aware that he has become irrational and unprofessional as he thinks, "I too had
got beyond reason. I could have torn the child apart in my own fury and enjoyed it. It was a pleasure
to attack her. My face was burning with it.". This is a blatant example of dominant sexual force. He
justifies his feelings by saying he must protect the "damned little brat"

Oh Ken! I'm so sorry to hear your leg has not got better. I can't imagine how painful those blisters
are. When do you have to see your the surgeon again, Ken? What do you do for relieving those
pains? Has your doctor indicated you anything about it? Wish all starts to get better for you soon,
Ken, and those doctors do something for you as soon as possible. Don't worry about you aren't
keeping up my message very well, it's understandable that your leg is your main preoccupation now,
Ken. I think my messages have a bad side and a good side, or at least, not so bad. The bad side is
they are usually a bit long. The good side, or not so bad one, haha!!!, would be that what the things
that I have to tell you maybe are novelty for you as well as my English may keep you a bit busy and
in this way, perhaps, you may forget a little bit about your problem for a moment. Come on, Ken,

The End Moment Thhirst Short Story
The End Moment Thirst It was a joyful day of grade 3 in India. There were kids all around me
playing when I was playing with my friends. Suddenly, the recess bell rang when it was time to go
back to class but I ran to get a drink. "Oh no! I have to run because I have to reach class on time and
also my teacher wouldn't allow me to get a drink right after recess," I exclaimed. The floors of my
school were really slippery so I slipped and fell on my right eyebrow. "Why isn't is hurting?" I
wondered. I didn't really worry because it wasn't hurting. I quickly took a drink and was going back
to class but suddenly, I felt something dripping down my face. "What happened to you, why is there
blood dripping down your face?" asked a teacher. I didn't know what was happening but the teacher
took me to the office in my school. A lady with a medical background cleared all the blood and put a
thick, white band–aid on. As soon as she was done with that, the vice principal called my grandpa to
let him know what had happened. My grandpa decided to pick me up. Then, the teacher took me to
my class so that my homeroom teacher would know what had happened. "How did this happen?"
asked my teacher. I didn't answer because I was too afraid. "When is grandpa going to come?" I
wondered. Finally, he came and I was so happy. On the way out, he asked, "Why didn't you answer

Personal Narrative Story : A Short Story
When I first heard the news, I wasn't shocked. Rather guilty and sad. As I sat in the car thinking
about the past few months, I was filled with regret. All the memories came rushing through my head
as I sob. I wonder why I made the choices to do that. I was about 7, and I was still living in China
that time and I loved it. No stress, no worries, and I was a little brat. One day, I was playing outside
in my yard when my aunts came over, "Dad fell today and he got a big cut on his foot," said aunt
Lily. "Is he all right? He's almost 90.We better go and check," said Aunt Jo. Me, being curious,
followed.I walked into the room where my grandpa is, and he was crying. It was unlikely for my
grandpa to cry, he was always very stubborn and very brave. But this time he cried... The village
doctor came and took a look at his foot; he patched it up and said it was no big deal. After everyone
heard that, they relax.Except for me, I was worried. If it was no big deal, then why would grandpa
be crying? Little did I know, I was right. About a week later, my grandpa got a fever, and his foot
turned black. We got the village doctor, and he told us that we should take grandpa to the town
hospital. We took grandpa to the hospital and waited for the doctor, the doctor told us that grandpa
got an infection from the cut on his foot and needs surgery. But, the doctor didn't stop there. Since
grandpa is almost 90 years old, it's very risky for him to do surgery. The doctor wanted us to make a

William Carlos Williams The Use Of Force
the story "The Use OF Force", by William Carlos Williams. Is about a doctor who enter the
household of a family in need of helping a sick child. While helping this child the doctor seems to
be over aggressive with the child. In the story, the doctor says and does some disturbing things while
treating the child which reveals his true self and makes him a reliable reader. Today's world is made
up of an image of doctors who are supposed to help you in every way possible to treat whatever the
problem is that you have. As a reader the things that the doctor says gives an uncomfortable feeling.
For example, while the doctor is trying to perform on the child he says "You're old enough to
understand what I'm saying. Will you open it now by yourself or shall we have to open it up for
you?". As the reader, this is the first thing that would make for an uncomfortable feeling. Although
her projected illness could be one that is life threatening, she still is a child and saying things like
"or shall we have to open it for you" just totally ignores that, and other techniques can be taken to
get her to coo operate. He goes on to say, "After all, I had already fallen in love with the savage
brat". Such words are making the reader look at him in a truly uncomfortable way because now he is
not even looking at her as a child anymore in her mind she is a savage brat. The meaning of a savage
is to be fierce, violent and uncontrolled. The meaning of a brat is a spoiled, annoying, and

Today for doctor Ivory was just a normal day in her lab that is 20 miles north of Egypt, except for

Dr. Ivory got access to after he was hurt in battle. Dr. Ivory changed his DNA so this soldier can be
perfect for any problem. He is to be stronger, smarter, and quicker than any other human. As the
generals slowly came into the lab Dr. Ivory's assistant rushed to greet them and led them to the

a grin, but that was 20 years ago. Now Dr. Ivory is the youngest top scientist of the United States
and has over 1,000 new generation perfect soldiers, and still no one really knows her plans.
"Good morning boys" Dr. Ivory said walking into the lab that all of her science team was already

different than normal. He will not follow the General's orders, so they scheduled a meeting with you
in one hour." Dr. Ivory's assistant said in rush trying to keep up with the doctor's paste. Smiling
secretly, Dr. Ivory said her gratitude and left to Eu11 unit to have a quick chat with.

An Analysis Of Lynn Nottage 's ' Ruined Takes Place At...
Lynn Nottage's Pulitzer Prize winning play Ruined takes place at Mama Nadi's brothel in the Congo
where a civil war is being waged and coltan is the new gold being mined from the earth. Mama Nadi
reluctantly takes Sophie and Salima into her establishment to work alongside Josephine as
entertainment for miners and soldiers. Before coming to Mama Nadi's, Sophie, Josephine, Salima all
experienced rape. The word rape is so common in our society that it has lost its intensity and
heinousness to a person who has not experienced it. Rape is a general term to describe what the
women experienced but it does not give any hint to the struggle that comes after the event. For
example, what it does to a person's mind, the lasting scars on someone's body, and how it can
change a person's personality. Many critics assume that rape is the tragedy in the play, but Nottage's
use of the word "ruined" emphasizes that the real tragedy is the consequences of those soldier's
actions on these women 's lives and how it affected their interactions with society. Some might be
outraged at the notion that rape is not to be considered a tragedy. It is, of course, a horrific act. One
that inflicts so much damage that it can cause PTSD type triggers in survivors. Rape is a before/after
moment, people who experience it begin to think of how life was before and now after the event.
For instance, with the character Salima, her life before the incident included a loving family with her
"good husband" (35) and

What are the people of Sogolonbougou to do? They are simply trying to raise enough crop to keep
from starving and the Forest Service keeps bothering them? Whats the Forest Service to do? They
are simply trying to keep environmentally healthy by setting a few laws and regulating them? These
are the questions that need to be answered to solve the conflict between the Forest Service and
Sogolonbougou.
In my opinion, I realize that it must be tough on the chief of Sogolonbougou to have to try to keep a
village up and running. But as a chief he needs to find other ways to do things. Instead of trying to
clear more land maybe he needs to use the land he has more efficiently. For the forest service they
do have to enforce the laws they set. But I feel the leaders of both groups need to put their heads
together and find a better solution. It seems rather stupid for both

how to make sure to let a child know with ADHD that they have a lot of love surround by them all

A Short Story : The Story Of Mambo
Once upon a time, an evil monkey named Mambo used to live in a village called Tulu, tropical area
in the northern part of Africa. Mambo had always evil. His wickedness started when the moment he
came out of his mother's womb. His mother, Mahru, died in while she was in labor. Her abdomen
was dissected into two halves as a giant black creature came out of her Womb. Ever since Mambo
was born, he had been troubling the villagers. By the time he was two–month–old, he had started
stealing fruits from the local farmers. As he grew older, he began trashing the entire village. Yet,
there was no one that could chase him away; there was none that could stand his dark bloodcurdling
face. Therefore, Mambo kept on doing his mischievous deeds.
Within the past eight years, Mambo has grown to be one meter tall and two hundred pounds. Yes, he
is a giant monkey. In fact, he was the biggest and most terrifying monkey in the entire Tulu village.
Whenever he came out of the forest, the villagers would grab whatever they can take with them and
run away. When he walks back into the forest, the other animals will walk way. Passing through a
variety of hardships, such as being lonely and discriminated in his early life made him bitter. He
couldn't stand seeing the chickens and cows being feed by the very same people. Eventually, his
jealousy aggravated a thought of vengeance within him.
Through multiple trials, Mambo has understood that there is one thing that all the people of Tulu

Life Changing Events Can Change A Person 's Perspective On...
My research reviled how life–changing events can play a significant role in how we lead people.
This week's research was an in–depth view of the movie "The Doctor", (Ziskin and Haines, 1991).
This movie depicted a highly skilled surgeon named Jack McKee, played by actor William Hurt who
was completely devoted to his practice, (Ziskin and Haines, 1991). His world revolved around his
profession, which negatively affected his family and life experiences beyond work. The movie
captured the importance of relationships and how tragic events can change a person's perspective on
life. Jack McKee followed a transactional style of leading only concerned with himself and his
practice, (Ziskin and Haines, 1991). After being stricken by illness; he experienced the other side of
health care as a patient. He discovered the challenges of being a patient and soon realized that his
position as a surgeon would not give him precedence over others requiring care, (Ziskin and Haines,
1991). He struggled with this role reversal several times throughout the movie. It was not until he
meets June, a young woman suffering from a brain tumor that led him to change his ways, (Ziskin
and Haines, 1991). He experienced the emotional rollercoaster that a patient will often experience
after being diagnosed with a serious illness. As his relationship developed with June, he began to
realize the importance of enjoying life and realizing how precious time really is, (Ziskin and Haines,
1991). After this

tournament of the season. It was our first game of the tournament and I started as point guard. The
game went fast and we took turns scoring we would score they would score. They got of head of us
in the third quarter. My coach told me to start pressing the other point guard. It was me and her on
one side of the quart. The inbounder was about to throw the ball in. Crack...
It was in the beginning of winter but we still had snow. I didn't get a wink of sleep the night befor. I
tossed and turned in my bed. I was up and six in the morning waiting for the rest of my family to get
up. Once they got up we all ate breakfast. I had a big bowl full of lucky charms. I wolfed it down in
.5 seconds I wanted to leave so bad. We left at 7:30 it was an hour drive. We got there at 8:30 as
planned and waited for the rest of my team. My whole team got there and we went over plays.
Finally it was our turn to play.
Beep. We won the tip and got into our play we got a basket in the first minute. We rush back onto
defense and the beat it and score a basket. This was pretty much how the hole game went just back
and forth. It was a boring game to some but then... My coach told us to press them. If you don't

Personal Narrative : The Tiest Day Of My Life?
I was seven years old when it happened. At first, it felt like nothing, a bump in the knee or an
insignificant scrape. But that all changed when I looked down at my leg. I was unaware that the
events of the day would show that following your instincts is usually the way to go. It was seven
AM when I woke up and was in a rush to get to my lacrosse practice since I needed to be there
eight. Personally, I hated lacrosse. Not just the game itself but the gear. Everyone on the team had an
uncomfortable helmet, arm pads, gloves, and a heavy stick. I was still unaware that this would be
the scariest day of my life. I showed up late so the coach made me run a lap before joining the
scrimmages. We were at a park with a stone wall that surrounded the perimeter, about one and a half
feet tall. Halfway through my lap the ball I had been carrying in my stick fell out. As I went to pick
it up, I glanced over at my team because of an amazing play that had just happened. Then I hit a
rock. Shaken, I picked up the ball and began to run, noticing something was wrong. I felt the sting
of the cool wind on my knee. This made me stop and sit on the wall so that I could look my at knee.
That's when I started to cry. My knee had a gash that went down to the bone. As I looked in horror
blood surrounded a white object. I immediately thought that this was the bone. Later that day I
found out that it was. I had been sitting on the wall for a while when my coach finally ran over to

"Wake up, young hero, it is time for you to stand up to darkness once more. You have been in deep

had just seen a ghost, his hands were all filled with sweat. He sat right next to me as if I was dead.

you fell down the stairs," mom told me as she sat right next to my arm" I looked to my left, and I

looked around but things started to get blurry because of the tears in my eyes. My parents started to
talk quietly. After talking for a little while, they turned around.
"You are going to have to go to the hospital," my parents said. At this point I didn't care what they
had to do, all I wanted was my arm to stop throbbing and feel better. I laid there with my eyes closed
shut, and shaking my head up and down. My dad had already left because he hated this kind of stuff.

Valley Forge: Joining The Army
The dazed, sick and weak soldiers walk around Valley Forge groaning like zombies in a graveyard.
Best time to leave would be now! In the summer of 1775 George Washington and his troops left
from Boston to New York City. On April 13, 1778, the French joined the Americans in the
Revolutionary War. I joined the army after Valley Forge was made, but I have decided to not re–

the soldiers. The month is December and the year is 1777. I have been brought to Valley Forge with
the other soldiers. I have been told that there is a little sickness spreading around, but nothing
serious. Ever since the Boston Massacre erupted I have become angry at the British for putting us
through these unfair conditions. This is why I joined the army, but when I went to Valley Forge and

A Short Story : A Story?
One stormy night in 1842, a man was walking in the woods when he came upon a large cave like
opening. Seeking shelter from the rain and wind, he entered the cave and began to slowly venture
deeper inside. He noticed a light, coming from just around the cave wall and decided to figure out
was it was. When he walked around the corner he saw a magnificent sight. There, infront of him,
laid a beautiful golden crown complete with gems of all colors. He slowly walked over to it and
took in it's glory. He eventually picked it up, and placed it on top of his head. He took it off to
examine it more closely and notice an engraving on the inside, "Thou who wears thee shall be
cursed to live in agonizing pain until all they know is gone." He began to feel uneasy and quickly
put the crown back, but he was soon to learn that he was too late.
He remained in the cave until the storm passed and he was able to wander back to his home in the
village. He had awoken the next day to find himself in great pain and to find that there was blood
slowly seeping from his pores. "W–What is this!", he exclaimed to himself as he jumped up and
rushed towards the mirror. In the mirror, he didn't even recognize himself.. He seemed to be

"When I arrived, I was met by the mother, a big startled looking women, very clean and apologetic

who looked like a doctor. This is implicit information
"In the back, she added. She added. You must excuse us, doctor, we have her in the kitchen where
it's warm. It very damp here sometimes."
The statement says that the house is damp which implies that the house is very humid which could
of caused the daughter to be sick or it could also imply that the house is in disrepair as damp is also
caused by leaking pipes
"The child was fully dressed and sitting on her father's lap near the kitchen table. He tried to get up,
but I motioned for him not to bother, took off my overcoat and started to look things over."

wrist hurt really badly, but what could she do, she was a prisoner. It wouldn't hurt as much if the cuff
wasn't pressing on it, but the cuff was, and she couldn't move the cuff, it was secure. She knew what
had happened. Chandrogana had accidentally hurt her wrist, but she didn't know if it was just
twisted, sprained or broken. By the time the doctor came to see her, her eyes were watering, it hurt
so badly. The doctor came in, and didn't say a word to Kristien. Just went to the panel in the wall.
He scanned his handprint, and then typed in instructions. The one cuff on her hurting wrist, the left
one, uncuffed, and Kristien felt a little bit of relief. But it was still very, very painful. "Kristien, I'm
going to feel your wrist to see if it is broken. Do not be alarmed," the doctor said. He picked up her
wrist, and started feeling it. Moving the joint around. Kristien gasped at the pain. "Please stop. It
hurts," Kristien said. "It's clearly broken. It probably was a bad sprain, but with the pressure of the
cuff, it made it into a broken wrist. I'm going to have to put this in a cast, but I need all my ... Show

The shot the doctor had given her had really helped and it had healed extra fast. It was April 5th, and
Kristien had been off of the Earth for about two and a half weeks. She was happy because Israel was
going to be the person who took care of her for the night. She liked Israel, and Israel liked her. She
was more trusted now, she wasn't always tied down to her bed, and sometimes was just locked in her
room. It was 5:30 PM, and at 6:00, Israel would come with dinner, and also the doctor, who would
take off her cast, and make sure it was healed, one last time. She couldn't wait. At 5:45 though,
Korella came to the door and told her to stand against the back wall, and then came into the

Theme Of Greed And Power In John Steinbeck's The Pearl
Characters contribute to creating a theme in stories we read with physical, verbal, and mental
actions. The Pearl written by John Steinbeck is about a poor family living their usual life in their
village when their son gets sick and they cannot purchase medical care. They usually go pearl diving
and find nothing but are blessed with a huge pearl. The pearl can create great riches but also creates
great suffering with in the village. In the book The Pearl by John Steinbeck the characters, The
Doctor and Kino helped develop the theme or greed and power can make one's downfall.
Kino in The Pearl creates the theme of greed and power can make one's downfall. In the book Juana
(Kino's wife) hears evil music with the pearl and fears it will tear apart the family and the village. So
she sneaks out in the early morning with it and tries to get rid of it to free her family from evil but
gets caught in the action by her husband who goes savage. "Her arm was up to throw when he
leaped at her and caught her arm and wrenched the pearl from her. He struck her in the face with his
clenched fist and she fell among the boulders, and he kicked her in the side...Kino looked down at
her and his teeth were bared. He hissed at her like a snake..."(page 58–59) This shows how greed
and power can make one's downfall because the greed of the pearl and the idea of what riches it
could bring to the family and the whole village which makes Kino fill with rage when he sees Juana
trying to get rid of

My Moment In The Moment Essay
It was august 4 3:47pm just 5 minutes before my arm would crack. My neighbor and I were upstairs
in my room when she said "I'm bored let's go outside. After 2 minutes we left my room and went
into the hall. I slipped my shoes on half way and thought, once i'm in the living room I will put them
on completely. The railing of the stairs measured, right by my waist, so I locked my arms. I had just
started to go to the third step when my right leg slipped and I fell, landing seated. My sight turned
dark as if I had been staring at the sun and white snow. For some reason I thought I had made the
railing fall of the wall. I thought this because heard and felt something fall on me. I started searching
for my left arm with a blurry vision. I couldn't find it until I noticed it was hanging in between my
legs. I picked it up and I felt the bone move in my arm. I called my mom and said "Mom I broke my
arm!" She started helping me and I kept on saying "don't let my arm go!" and "It keeps cracking".
My dad took me to the hospital in Hampton while my mom called my aunt and asked her if she
could interpret. When we got there I sat in a gray wheelchair and got x–rays. After a couple of
minutes the doctor came in and asked if he could talk to my dad. My aunt went with him to
interpret. A nurse came in and injected some medicine in my hand for the pain. But while she
injected the back of my hand, I heard the doctor say in the room next door, "It's either a cyst or
cancer." I tried not

Riku Wake Up Essay
"Wake up," said the mysterious voice. "Riku, wake up." "Who are you?" Riku yawns while he
slowly gets up. "Wake up, young hero, it is time for you to stand up to darkness one more time. You
have been in deep slumber in this shrine for a hundred years. Walk out of the shrine and to fulfill
your destiny," said the mysterious voice.
After the voice stopped, Riku got out of the sleeping chamber he was in. He walked out of the
shrine, and the first thing he saw after a hundred years amazed him. The shrine he came out of was
part of cliff covered with fresh, earthy grass, swaying back and forth as the wind blows. Then, Riku
started to look around the area and below the cliff there was big green oak tree forest. The sky was
clear, and the sun ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Riku managed to survive but he still had a long way to the temple.
Slowly, Riku sneaked past a few of the same creatures in the dusk of the night towards the temple .
Riku also made sure he stole some of their clubs to use as a weapon later. When he got to the
temple, he walked towards the statue. He stared at the writing on the stone tablet near the statue and
suddenly his head started to hurt and he started to remember a time he came here. The temple back
then was filled with book shelves, candle lights on every table. The temple had windows all over the
building with paintings of a hero vanquishing evil. Then a mysterious man, yet somewhat felt
familiar to Riku walked towards him. "Hey, check this out, Riku. It's a part of the prophecy that's to
come and it says the hero will vanquish evil when it comes. I wonder who the hero will be. Who
ever it is, they will be the greatest hero of them all," said the mysterious man while smiling at Riku.
After that, Riku came back to his senses, and the statue began to flash. Riku walk towards the statue.
The light from the statue then blinded Riku and the area around the temple. When the blinding light
disappear, in Riku's hand was a device. Then, the old man from before appeared at the entrance of
the temple. "That device right there can serve as your map, it is made of ancient technology. Around
this land, you will find shrines similar to the

Tom And Bobo

  • 1. Tom And Bobo There once was an old man named Bobo. Bobo had no friends, as he pushed everyone away, and all his relatives were dead. He lived in a small house in a small village, and while all the other villagers were partying and chatting about their lives, Bobo went out for a stroll, as he did each morning. "Good morning Mr. Bobo!" A small boy, Tom, exclaimed when he saw the old man walking along the path that leads out of the village. "And where are you heading, Mr. Bobo?" Tom asked. "None of your concern little boy." Bobo responded with a tone that said that he was not quite enjoying the presence of the child. Bobo briskly walked past Tom, who was hurt by his tone. Tom has been, of course, just trying to be friendly as he was taught by his father. Bobo continued to walk down the path, as he did each morning, and each time he saw a person, he pushed them away, creating an even larger ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They found the dead body of Bobo inside the house. Bobo died without any companions, without anyone to care about him, without anybody by his side in his final hours. Bobo shut people out, let no one in, and sadly, no one cared. The villagers cleared Bobo's body, demolished his house, and built a public school where his house used to be. Bobo led a lonely life, and died a lonely life. No one remembered Bobo. No one cared about Bobo. Even Tom, who originally cared about Bobo lost all feeling to the old man. This may be just a short story, but it has a hint of truth to it. Companionship can make life a lot more fun and enjoyable, and with friends, you have someone to care about you, so that when you are at your final hours, you have people by your side, people that you care about, people that care about you. Bobo learned this lesson too late, but it's not too late for you. Make friends, have fun, and most importantly, gain and give ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

"This isn't happening" replied Oliver as he ran out of the room into the hallway. Hurriedly, he went to find the doctor who was overseeing his friends recovery. When he found him, Oliver grabbed the doctor by the wrist and pulled him into room 513. "Tell me this is some kind of sick twisted joke" shouted Oliver. "What are you talking about?" responded the doctor with a confused look on his face. "Calm down Ollie" added Harrison. "Then tell me whats going on!" screamed Oliver. "Your friend has been left without kidneys as a result of kidney disease that was spurred by frequent abuse of alcoholic substances." explained the doctor calmly. "He has two weeks to live tops. Unfortunately, he is expected to be at the top of the organ donation waiting list in about a month and a half," he added with perfect composure. "A month and a half?" shouted Oliver with great frustration. "He's going to die! You can't let him die, doctor!" By now a group of concerned patients and doctors were gathering outside the door of room 513 "Unfortunately there is nothing I can do to help your friend Mr. Brooks" replied the doctor keeping his calm demeanour. I was in the 5th grade and I was walking on the sledding hill looking for my best only and only friend at the time. I was walking back and forth on the top of the hill in search for her. I was so distracted looking for her, I didn't see where I was going, and my right leg slipped into a hole and twisted my ankle, or so I thought. The next morning as I went to rise out of bed, I stood up and fell over. My ankle hurt so bad, I was unable to stand. I yelled for my mother to come in my room to help me back to my bed. She examined my ankle and decided to take me into the emergency room. My mom and my sister helped me to the car and to the hospital we went. We arrived at the hospital and my mother ran inside and grabbed me a wheelchair. We were admitted to a room very quickly, my dad does business with the hospital so we have connections. When my leg was finally starting to grow back and the pain was minimized, I tried to walk. I was standing and I couldn't move, I forgot how to walk. I had to learn how to walk again, my mom would hold my hand around the house and taught me how to walk. I was finally walking again about two and a half months after I stepped in the hole. • 9. A Story Of A Short Story As the sun descends from the snowy mountains in Russia. village folks began to return to their homes to begin their nightly tasks. Children skipped happily back to their homes as their parents calls them back in for supper. Adults finish closing their shops and return home to create dinner. It was a normal day in the village for all, but one. Anna observes the village below and sighs. Her jet black hair dances in the frosty wind as she peers at the people below. It became an unhealthy habit for her mental state, but she couldn't do much else but relive the awful memory of her unfair, biased banishment. Her electric blue eyes bore on the happy children prancing at the big frozen lake, and she sighs again, her breath visible in the wind. It was a wonder Anna survived the harsh conditions of the northern mountaintops. Her pale skin was littered with scratches, showing the pain of living in such jarring circumstances. After months of her banishment, many presumed she had died in the terrifying wilderness. Rather then show any sorrow for the terribly misunderstood woman, they used her story as a story to scare children at night. But Anna knew better then to interfere. In the large mountain, with it's thick forests, Anna luckily found an abandoned small cabin, which she called home. It was empty when she discovered it, but provided a very good defense against the brutal winds. Food was a problem at first, until Anna decided to run to a nearby village to get her hands on any ... The Use Of Force Analysis "The Use of Force" by William Carlos Williams is told from the first–person point of view which allows a reader to see the changes in the doctor's mind as he transitions from professional to completely unprofessional. The doctor goes from being a professional concerned with a young girl's health to an animalistic, pedophilic, instinct–driven person. At the beginning, the doctor goes to the patient's home where he is met with a poverty–stricken family. The family is clean despite their living conditions. The parents are very concerned for their daughter's health as the doctor notes they are spending three dollars on his visit to know what is wrong with her. At the beginning of the story, the doctor can not help but notice the young girl's attractiveness and her "magnificent blond hair, in profusion". He notes that her looks are those of advertisement worthy children and that her stare infatuates him. Later during "the battle" the doctor puts a phallic tongue depressor in the child's throat to which she fought so desperately with clenched teeth she ended up breaking the tongue depressor in her mouth and caused it to start bleeding. The doctor, instead of acknowledging that he is actually hurting Matilda, becomes furious at her and thinks "I tried to hold myself down but I couldn't". This is a young girl bleeding from the mouth and a vision of pure terror, yet the doctor only becomes more violent, determined and aroused by the power. The doctor thinks to himself that he knows he should have let the child be and have tried again in an hour or so when she had calmed down, yet his instincts tell him "we're going through with this.". The doctor is fully aware that he has become irrational and unprofessional as he thinks, "I too had got beyond reason. I could have torn the child apart in my own fury and enjoyed it. It was a pleasure to attack her. My face was burning with it.". This is a blatant example of dominant sexual force. He justifies his feelings by saying he must protect the "damned little brat" ... Suddenly, the recess bell rang when it was time to go back to class but I ran to get a drink. "Oh no! I have to run because I have to reach class on time and also my teacher wouldn't allow me to get a drink right after recess," I exclaimed. The floors of my school were really slippery so I slipped and fell on my right eyebrow. "Why isn't is hurting?" I wondered. I didn't really worry because it wasn't hurting. I quickly took a drink and was going back to class but suddenly, I felt something dripping down my face. "What happened to you, why is there blood dripping down your face?" asked a teacher. I didn't know what was happening but the teacher took me to the office in my school. A lady with a medical background cleared all the blood and put a thick, white band–aid on. As soon as she was done with that, the vice principal called my grandpa to let him know what had happened. My grandpa decided to pick me up. Then, the teacher took me to my class so that my homeroom teacher would know what had happened. "How did this happen?" asked my teacher. I didn't answer because I was too afraid. As I sat in the car thinking about the past few months, I was filled with regret. All the memories came rushing through my head as I sob. I wonder why I made the choices to do that. I was about 7, and I was still living in China that time and I loved it. No stress, no worries, and I was a little brat. One day, I was playing outside in my yard when my aunts came over, "Dad fell today and he got a big cut on his foot," said aunt Lily. "Is he all right? He's almost 90.We better go and check," said Aunt Jo. Me, being curious, followed.I walked into the room where my grandpa is, and he was crying. It was unlikely for my grandpa to cry, he was always very stubborn and very brave. But this time he cried... The village doctor came and took a look at his foot; he patched it up and said it was no big deal. After everyone heard that, they relax.Except for me, I was worried. If it was no big deal, then why would grandpa be crying? Little did I know, I was right. About a week later, my grandpa got a fever, and his foot turned black. We got the village doctor, and he told us that we should take grandpa to the town hospital. We took grandpa to the hospital and waited for the doctor, the doctor told us that grandpa got an infection from the cut on his foot and needs surgery. But, the doctor didn't stop there. Will you open it now by yourself or shall we have to open it up for you?". As the reader, this is the first thing that would make for an uncomfortable feeling. Although her projected illness could be one that is life threatening, she still is a child and saying things like "or shall we have to open it for you" just totally ignores that, and other techniques can be taken to get her to coo operate. He goes on to say, "After all, I had already fallen in love with the savage brat". • 32. An Analysis Of Lynn Nottage 's ' Ruined Takes Place At... Lynn Nottage's Pulitzer Prize winning play Ruined takes place at Mama Nadi's brothel in the Congo where a civil war is being waged and coltan is the new gold being mined from the earth. Mama Nadi reluctantly takes Sophie and Salima into her establishment to work alongside Josephine as entertainment for miners and soldiers. Before coming to Mama Nadi's, Sophie, Josephine, Salima all experienced rape. The word rape is so common in our society that it has lost its intensity and heinousness to a person who has not experienced it. Rape is a general term to describe what the women experienced but it does not give any hint to the struggle that comes after the event. For example, what it does to a person's mind, the lasting scars on someone's body, and how it can change a person's personality. Many critics assume that rape is the tragedy in the play, but Nottage's use of the word "ruined" emphasizes that the real tragedy is the consequences of those soldier's actions on these women 's lives and how it affected their interactions with society. Some might be outraged at the notion that rape is not to be considered a tragedy. It is, of course, a horrific act. One that inflicts so much damage that it can cause PTSD type triggers in survivors. Rape is a before/after moment, people who experience it begin to think of how life was before and now after the event. For instance, with the character Salima, her life before the incident included a loving family with her "good husband" (35) and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I sense the laughter inside my throat explode outside of me and the bright green eyed girl bursting with giggles beside me. Then I am abruptly pulled out of my joyus bubble I hear a voice calling my name. I turn to look and there she is, my mother perched upon the porch calling my name. I know it is not time for dinner yet since it is still bright and sunny out. I turn to my friend to inform her that I will go home to find out why my mother is calling me and then return as soon as I can. As I am running home, I feel the wind all around and I attempt to huddle inside myself as I walk up the steps. There she is waiting for me with a sweater in hand, I smile up at her and wonder to myself how is it that she always knows what I need before I do. I take the sweater and give her a loving filled kiss of thanks. Then I am running out the door to rejoin my friend, but as I shut the door behind me all the joy rushes out of me like a swift waterfall and is replaced with anguish. • 51. Life Changing Events Can Change A Person 's Perspective On... My research reviled how life–changing events can play a significant role in how we lead people. This week's research was an in–depth view of the movie "The Doctor", (Ziskin and Haines, 1991). This movie depicted a highly skilled surgeon named Jack McKee, played by actor William Hurt who was completely devoted to his practice, (Ziskin and Haines, 1991). His world revolved around his profession, which negatively affected his family and life experiences beyond work. The movie captured the importance of relationships and how tragic events can change a person's perspective on life. Jack McKee followed a transactional style of leading only concerned with himself and his practice, (Ziskin and Haines, 1991). After being stricken by illness; he experienced the other side of health care as a patient. He discovered the challenges of being a patient and soon realized that his position as a surgeon would not give him precedence over others requiring care, (Ziskin and Haines, 1991). He struggled with this role reversal several times throughout the movie. It was not until he meets June, a young woman suffering from a brain tumor that led him to change his ways, (Ziskin and Haines, 1991). He experienced the emotional rollercoaster that a patient will often experience after being diagnosed with a serious illness. As his relationship developed with June, he began to realize the importance of enjoying life and realizing how precious time really is, (Ziskin and Haines, 1991). After this ... • 59. Personal Narrative : The Tiest Day Of My Life? I was seven years old when it happened. At first, it felt like nothing, a bump in the knee or an insignificant scrape. But that all changed when I looked down at my leg. I was unaware that the events of the day would show that following your instincts is usually the way to go. It was seven AM when I woke up and was in a rush to get to my lacrosse practice since I needed to be there eight. Personally, I hated lacrosse. Not just the game itself but the gear. Everyone on the team had an uncomfortable helmet, arm pads, gloves, and a heavy stick. I was still unaware that this would be the scariest day of my life. I showed up late so the coach made me run a lap before joining the scrimmages. We were at a park with a stone wall that surrounded the perimeter, about one and a half feet tall. Halfway through my lap the ball I had been carrying in my stick fell out. As I went to pick it up, I glanced over at my team because of an amazing play that had just happened. Then I hit a rock. Shaken, I picked up the ball and began to run, noticing something was wrong. I felt the sting of the cool wind on my knee. This made me stop and sit on the wall so that I could look my at knee. That's when I started to cry. My knee had a gash that went down to the bone. As I looked in horror blood surrounded a white object. I immediately thought that this was the bone.
