2. Template and cover
This is a template that I found of an accurate size digi-pack on Google images to create my
ancillary task. I chose the font cover image of my digi-pack to match one of my scenes in my
music video and my poster so that they all link and represent a strong artist identity. The image
has a natural mise-en-scéne with a guitar prop to present the Indie Irish folk genre. I felt that
this was a good front cover image to present the artist as the picture and angle is of high quality
with eye-catching colours and characteristics of the artist Hudson Taylor are strongly
represented as a desirable artist appealing to our target audience and fan base of mostly
females.
3. The font and title
The font of the artist name and album title of
the song is very fancy however can still be
related to the Indie Irish folk genre. I have
used white text on top of black text to create a
shadow and establish a title with a unique
appearance to represent the identification of
my artist. The text is placed slightly lower than
the center of the cover to show the guitar prop
and the artist clearly. After asking the
audience what type of font to us they
suggested something quirky and different to
promote my genre with differentiation to other
artists in the same genre.
4. Images
I gathered a range of images of the
same location to present a contrast in
colours to be more visually interesting
and bright to look at. Both of these
shots are of the same beach but show
different angles of the scenery at
different times. After asking my
targeted audience what they thought of
the combination of selected images
they said that they cooperate well
together to form an Indie theme that
was enjoyable to look at.
5. All images
This screenshot shows my digi-pack after all
the images have been chosen and placed to
form a pleasing visual structure. The inside
covers where the CD will be placed has a
more detailed earthy theme so that there is
not just a collage of mages but a layout of
craftily structure to form a difference of the
inside and outside of the digi-pack. After
researching digi-packs in similar genres I
thought this was a creative idea to make my
product stand out from others but still follow
conventions of the digi-pack features. My
audience feedback on my this collaboration
of images was that the pictures work well
together to form a well constructed theme of
the Indie Irish Folk genre.
6. Final version
The Final version of my digi-pack is presented below with additional song
titles on the back cover and a bar code to present my ancillary digi-pack
product realistically which was inflected by my research and audience
feedback by the use of fonts.
