contributed to the math we know today. None compares to the work of Sir Isaac Newton. He was influential as a person, as well as in his work.
Sir Isaac Newton was born on December 25, 1642 in Wools Thorpe, Lincolnshire. Shortly after his father's death, Newton was born premature and was
not expected to survive. After his father's death, his mother got remarried to an ignorant man. His stepfather didn't seem to like him, so he was then
sent away to live with his grandmother. At the age of eleven, his stepfather died. After the death, he decided to move back home with his mother.

In 1667, Newton returning to Cambridge and quickly completed all his requirements for a master's degree. His greatest discoveries and innovations
came about during his years at Cambridge.
Newton was the one to formulate the theory of universal gravity. It is claimed that, when he watched an apple fall from a tree he wondered if the
force that caused that the apple to fall was also the force that kept the moon in its orbit. According to the text in Newton (1642), his theory that is
described in Newton's law is that gravitational force depends on the mass of each object. His doubt wasn't about the fact that gravity existed, but
whether it was what was keeping the moon in its orbit. He figured that, if the force was to be decreased he would be able to calculate the Moon's
orbital period. He figured that this was the same force responsible for other motions in the orbit and with his hypothesis; he decided to call this theory
universal gravitation. With many trials and errors he could not get his calculations to match his theories; he finally figured out his error, he had been
using the wrong formula to figure out the diameter of the Earth.

understand the concept of light, motion or gravity until Newton came around and discovered them. I know one question that I have is what would our
world be like today if these important discoveries were not found?
Sir Isaac Newton was simply a genius. He discovered many important aspects that are used in the modern world on a daily basis. He was very
passionate about learning and his innovations changed the world. The first innovation that Newton brought to our world was the discovery of light.
Newton said that white light is made up of many colors. He discovered this by "setting up a prism near his window, and projecting a spectrum
twenty–two feet onto the far wall, to prove that the prism was not coloring the light, he refracted the light back together." The advantage of Newton's
theory of light is that we know that light is made up of many colors. If he wouldn't have discovered this phenomena, we would still think that color was

But how was he to figure out where the object would be if it constantly sped up or slowed down? Where would the object be if it traveled around
curves? This is the concept of calculus. Using his knowledge of algebra, Newton set out to find the value of an unknown number that kept changing.
He did this by figuring out that the integration of a function was simply the inverse of differentiating it. Newton had just developed a method for

Sir Isaac Newton 's laws of motion are three laws which provide relationships between the forces acting on a physical body and the motion of the
body. They were first compiled by Sir Isaac Newton in his work Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica, published on July 5th, 1687. These
laws of motion are composed of three laws: Inertia, F=ma, and equal and opposite forces. These laws explain and give reasons for the motion of all
objects. In everyday life friction is all around us. In this experiment the effects of friction will be studied, and friction is the resistance that one surface
or object encounters when moving over another. Friction is caused in part by Newton's First Law of Motion: Inertia. The law of inertia states that an
object at rest will stay at rest unless acted upon by a force. It also states that an object in motion will continue to travel at the same speed and in the
same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.

A balanced force is when forces cause no loss of speed on an object, for example a car encountering the same force of wind resistance as its force of

calculus (Westfall 42). Newton's book, Philosophiae naturalis principia mathematica, often called Principia for short, was completed by April 1686

The Incredible Mind of Sir Isaac Newton
Isaac Newton was an instrumental figure to the rise of modern science. Through his incredible mind, he was able to usher in a new age of science
that revolved around logic and reason. He had redefined natural philosophy at the time and had enlightened the world with his mechanistic world
view. However, Newton was not exactly as dedicated to logic and reason as many would like to think. Newton not only spent a significant amount of
his time in the occult sciences such as alchemy, but was a deeply religious individual as well. Often times, many think of Newton as being one who
pushed away religious faith as a means to uncovering the natural world by solely depending on the empirical science, however that is incorrect.
Newton was very much influenced by his religious beliefs. In my paper, I aim to bring Newton's religiosity to light and uncover how it not only

This led to the hypotheses that the force that pulled the apple was also responsible for keeping the Moon in orbit around Earth. This was a unique
idea of the era because most people believed in the theory of the ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle (384–322 B.C.), who had said that the heavenly

Newton's discoveries about gravity all began while he was sitting under an apple tree. one of the apples fell from the tree making him begin to think
about what caused the change in acceleration and velocity in the apple. Newton's law of universal gravitation states that "Every object in the universe
attracts every other object with a force directed along the lines of centers for the two objects that is proportional to the product of their masses and

Renata Milani Sir Isaac Newton is one of the most renowned and influential physicists of all time. Born in Lincolnshire, England on Christmas day
in 1642, he was premature and not expected to survive when born. At twelve years old, Newton began attending a grammar school in Grantham,
where he stayed with an apothecary. He was intrigued by the apothecary's work, but by the time he turned seventeen he was sent back to his home
in Lincolnshire to become a farmer. Not only did he dislike being a farmer, but he was a terrible one, so, at his uncle's encouragement, he left home
and went to study at Trinity College in Cambridge. (Fowler, 2008, p. 1) At the college, students were only allowed in the library, which contained
around three thousand books, if they were accompanied by a faculty member. However, Newton was able to read many works of great thinkers
such as Galileo Galilei and RenГ© Descartes while at Trinity. (Gleick, 2003, p. 25) Isaac paid for his own schooling by waiting tables, cleaning

Since the beginning of time, there have been many mathematicians that has influenced and contributed to the math we know today. None compares to the work of Sir Isaac Newton. He was influential as a person, as well as in his work. Sir Isaac Newton was born on December 25, 1642 in Wools Thorpe, Lincolnshire. Shortly after his father's death, Newton was born premature and was not expected to survive. After his father's death, his mother got remarried to an ignorant man. His stepfather didn't seem to like him, so he was then sent away to live with his grandmother. At the age of eleven, his stepfather died. In 1667, Newton returning to Cambridge and quickly completed all his requirements for a master's degree. His greatest discoveries and innovations came about during his years at Cambridge. Newton was the one to formulate the theory of universal gravity. It is claimed that, when he watched an apple fall from a tree he wondered if the force that caused that the apple to fall was also the force that kept the moon in its orbit. According to the text in Newton (1642), his theory that is described in Newton's law is that gravitational force depends on the mass of each object. His doubt wasn't about the fact that gravity existed, but whether it was what was keeping the moon in its orbit. He figured that, if the force was to be decreased he would be able to calculate the Moon's orbital period. He figured that this was the same force responsible for other motions in the orbit and with his hypothesis; he decided to call this theory universal gravitation. With many trials and errors he could not get his calculations to match his theories; he finally figured out his error, he had been using the wrong formula to figure out the diameter of the Earth.
