1. What is a distribution company?
• A distribution company has the main job of
making sure the film they are distribution get
noticed by the right type of audience. Companies
such as ‘Universal’ have a very wide range of
audience that they will distribute to which means
the films they make will more than likely appeal
to everyone worldwide. However companies such
as ‘Studiocanal’ work with a much smaller
audience and therefore making it easier for the
film to be seen by the intended audience. This
would be the right company to choose for us as
our film attracts certain people.

2. Studiocanal is a good distribution
company for us to use as it is a
small company that distributes
good films.
As our film is a thriller and widely
based in London we believe that
Studiocanal was the right company
to choose as it works with
predominately British films.
This is also a company that encourages and promote
creativity. This was a good one to choose for our opening
sequence and we have been very creative with our use of
shots and plot. This company has also helped with big
thriller films such as ‘blackbird’ and ‘mindscape’.
As well as it working is
predominantly British
films it also looks at films
within Europe with
would help our film get
more coverage and
acknowledgement from
a wider range of places.

4. What is a production company?
• A production company is a business that will invest
money into a film and help create it. They are involved
in everything from the initial idea to the finishing
product of the film. They will help find the director,
actors and cameramen and any other staff needed.
They also contribute to the scheduling, writing and
budgeting.
• We created our own companies. The first one being
‘Test Tube Productions’ as our film is very based on
science. The second being ‘Underground Productions’
as it gives off a mysterious atmosphere very much like
our film does.
