made to last
Iittala’s products are known for their
durability and timeless design. They can last
from generation to another. They are with us
in all the weird and wonderful situations.

Each product
has a story
Being with us through thick and thin you
could say they have their own story. We
want to give iittala’s products the ability to
tell their story by updating the iittala sticker.

4. &
A voice to tell
the story
A sticker with NFC technology will give the
product a unique ID. When a mobile device
is placed near the sticker it opens up a
simple web interface. The interface has a
timeline with diary like updates about the
objects past.

Updating and
participating
Whenever a mobile device is reading the
NFC-sticker the user can either let the
interface do the updating or create their own
content. It’s possible to add photo, text or
video content to give it a personal touch.

The value of
good design
By showing the history of an object that has
been around for years we want to make
people realize the value of good products in
an otherwise throw-away culture.
