There is a need for help creating and organizing
a plan to live a healthy lifestyle with a busy, ever
changing schedule.

Take-Away from Interview
• Difficult to “streamline” health routine
• Benefit of downloading one app versus three
or four
• Very few healthy meals students can make
when on campus
• Would be good to know best exercise options
with available time
• Good way to keep on track with goals

Further Observations
• A healthy lifestyle is hard to maintain during
college with a busy schedule
• Even with a schedule, other tasks often get in
the way and take the easy way out
• Difficult to start exercise routine with little
time/ little knowledge about fitness levels
• Cooking seems complicated and students
often don’t know healthy, simple recipes

A multi-functional calendar app that organizes a
healthy lifestyle for the user by syncing with
their smartphone’s calendar app.

according to food preferences and the time
allotted, as well as meal tracking system.

Research on Smartphone Apps

BodySpace App: Social fitness app providing a
complete system of workouts, exercise trackers,
and “personal trainers”. Gives nutrition tips, but
does not provide meal options or an area to log
food and exercise.

TwoGrand App: Food journal that gives ideas for
healthy meals. Does not track exercise.

Many smartphone apps exist which give various
options regarding health and fitness, but, For
the most part, apps only focus on one or the
other.

No other apps provide personalized options for
exercise and meals according to the user’s
schedule while also allowing for a full log of
both exercise and meals. There are also no apps
that give you extremely personalized recipe
options that can be made within a certain time
frame according to the user’s schedule.

A multi-functional calendar app that organizes a
healthy lifestyle for the user by providing
personalized meal and exercise options.

Specifications of the App
Home Screen:
• Welcome page
• Options to sync current smartphone calendar
with app
• Options to set preferences for meal choices
• Options to set preferences for fitness

Sub-Level 1:
• Calendar screen
– Calendar layout with schedule information from user
synced to app
– Scheduled times for exercise depending on synced
schedule
– Scheduled times for meals depending on synced
schedule
– Ability to rearrange suggested meals and exercises
– Ability to check off tasks after each is completed

Sub-Level 2:
• Meal log screen
– Tracking food all day to see accurate nutrition
information
– Ability to see suggestions for healthier options
– Meals that have been added to calendar previously
will appear in the log for the day with accurate
nutrition information
– Meals can be modified in the app according to
preferences when cooking
