To Whom It May Concern:
Subject: Reference Letter – Mr. William Tavares
I am very pleased to write this letter of reference on behalf of William Tavares in my capacity as CIO of
KapTechnology, LLC. KapTechnology is a recent start-up, specializing in providing networking and ancillary
services to the corporate sector. Overall, I believe William to be a skilled, thoughtful, and thoroughly professional
Information Technology expert, which I will briefly elaborate on below.
I have known William as one of my key database interns his entire time in the experiential internship. I first got to
know him when he helped us develop an alumni employment database mapping system for a career services client. I
was impressed by his initiative to get the job done on that project, and his thirst for knowledge. He also showed
strong analytical and problem solving skills. In fact, it was for those qualities that we promoted William to the
Database Administrator/PM position after only a short time in the program.
During the time that William worked with me at KapTechnology, I have always been impressed by his outstanding
diligence and his high level of technical expertise. Indeed, I have been even more than satisfied with his working
relationship with the team. During this period, I also had the great pleasure of watching him take responsibility as a
fully functioning business-oriented database administrator who played the primary leadership role in the acceptance
of a department-wide VPN; one of our company's key projects. I was particularly impressed by the professionalism
and technical innovation that William demonstrated when migrating our data in preparation for our Virtual Private
Network. We now have that network and William is training and mentoring our new database interns.
Not only is William highly intelligent; he also is very hard-working. He tackled every project assigned to him with
enthusiasmand competence. He invariably understands exactly what a project is all about from the outset, and how
to get it done quickly and effectively. He consistently produced superiorquality work, on time, and within budget
targets. In my estimation, William is a true example of the type of employee that every employer wants: accountable
and responsible, with a superior work ethic and a high degree of integrity.
In closing, I recommend William Tavares very highly for any position in the IT field that involves complexity and
creativity, with high quality requirements. He is an exceptionally bright and hardworking person who will do his
very best to do an outstanding job for whomever he works. If I may be of further assistant with regard to William,
please call me at 816-289-4448 or e-mail me at ddepriest@kaplan.edu.
