PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Aviva (formerly Friends Life), Salisbury 10/2012 to
date
Lead Technical/Business Intelligence Analyst
Followingmy success in the previous role,I was successfully promoted to Lead Technical/BusinessIntelligence
Analyst.Within this roleI continue to be the lead universedesigner (usingboth the Universe Design Tool and more
recently the Information Design Tool) for the area as well as providingboth technical expertise(covering
predominantly the Business Objects suiteof tools and SAS) and subjectmatter knowledge on a wide range of
processes, products and data. To this end I am still relied upon to provideconsultation to my colleagues to help shape
business requirements and deliver data extracts to supportthose requirements.
Most recently, and over the pasttwo years,I have been heavily involved in a major data migration projectwhich
transferred over 5 million customer records (and their associated policies) fromthe existingmainframeonto a more
sustainablepolicy administration system.Part of the migration strategy was to captureand understand the business
reporting requirements and build a Business Objects Universethatsupported those requirements. I was the lead
Universe designer for the project and to date I have developed a singleUniversewith multiplebusiness layers that
supports over 1,000 reports. I was also instrumental in settingup the majority of those reports either through the
actual build or by providingguidanceon how the data model worked so that my colleagues could build thereports for
the business.

completed the rewrite of over 150 mainframeSAS reports usingeither SAS or Business Objects.Where possible, the
reports were then handed back to the business to own, with full one on one trainingbeingprovided.
On the back of usingBusiness Objects as a reporttool, I attended a Business Objects UniverseDesign courseand I very
2. quickly became the lead Universe Designer for the area.I am also a key attendee for the BOXI Community of Interest.
In addition, and because of my extensive knowledge of the core systems and data, I frequently provideconsultation to
my colleagues to aid in their understandingand to help shapethe business requirements.
