Marriott Marquis Hotel, Washington, D.C.
A new full service, 1,261,861 square foot, 4 –star quality, and LEED Silver
Certified with all related and required facilities and amenities. Six complete
public food and beverage outlets containing 18,879 square feet. The project shall contain
one 30,082 square foot grand ballroom divisible into ten sections, two 10,791 square foot
junior ballrooms, each divisible into eight sections, 53 meeting rooms containing 51,257
square feet, four board rooms, a second floor event terrace and a rooftop terrace.
There shall be a 910 square foot retail shop and a 1,010 square foot business center along
with 84,353 square feet of public circulation, including lobby space, elevators and
escalators, pre-function and registration areas and an underground pedestrian connection
to the existing Washington DC Convention Center. The hotel shall contain public support
areas including 12,681 square feet of administration offices, 25,212 square feet of
kitchen, 4,781 square feet of employee facilities, and 212,220 square feet of
miscellaneous areas including one exterior and one underground loading dock connected
to the Convention Center’s loading dock facility. The 30,000 square foot open Atrium
space is covered by a massive skylight. The hotel shall fully restore and incorporate the
historic Plumber’s Union Building into the hotel. In addition, there shall be an
underground helix access ramp from Massachusetts Avenue to two below grade parking
