2. Four individual factory units with offices constructed using structural steel portal frames and aluminium cladding.
3. Renovation of buildings at a racecourse including a new golf club building constructed using traditional masonry methods.
4. Several commercial projects in Dublin including a basement extension under an existing church and a passenger pier at Dublin Airport built using reinforced concrete.

First of nine swimming pool and health clubs for this client a 25 m X 18m pool with various
exercise rooms linked t the central poo and changing rooms.
RC pad foundations with structural steel main frame carrying gluelan beam trusses with
metal deck roof covered with tyrocal membrane. The pool is covered with a Teflin tent to
retain the heat. The HIVAC ,M&E systems and BMS are installed in a major plant room to
the rear and beneath the building.
Role site agent, reporting to contracts Manger and Client.
2 site engineers, 1 finishing foreman, direct labour sub-contractors.
Project Cost 4.5 M, Duration 8 months.
2. Industrial Complex ;
Oak Road off Nangor Road Dublin.
MDY Construction, Client Terry McGoff developer.
One large food processing and storage unit with designed office accommodation for a long
established renowned company . Four individual factory units with front offices and mezzanine
floor areas in the one block.
R C Pad/ strip foundation with structural steel portal frame construction , aluminium cladding and
windows colour coded with matching perimeter fence. All these buildings have a communal
enclosed loading yard.
Role Site Manager , reporting to the Contracts Director.
1 Company setting out engineer. 1 foreman. Direct labour sub-contractors.
Project Cost 2.5 M Duration 6 months.
3. Navan Race and Golf Course;
MDY Construction , Client, Navan Race course.
The demolition and renovation of existing buildings and the construction of a new Golf Club Building.
Traditional construction, masonry inner leaf and facing brickwork external finish. First floor construction
insitu RC. The works involved the renovation of numerous out -buildings ,the viewing stand, entrance
drive and front entrance.
Role Site Manager, reporting to Construction Director.
Project Cost 4.5 M Duration 6 months.
4. Mc Donald’s Mary St Dublin;
PJ Walls, Client John Keating, Keating pubs.
RC Basement construction with insitu RC construction three floors and roof shell and
core project with windows and façade stone installed . Fit out by others for Mc
Donald's.
Role Site Manager , reporting to Contracts Manager.
1 site engineer, sub-contractors.
Project Cost 1M Duration 6 months.
5. Saint Mary's Church Dublin;
P J Walls , Client, John Keating.
R C Basement construction under the church in the existing crypt areas, which
involved supporting the existing church as a 4 metre excavation was carried out
under and inside the existing church foundations. The existing timber columns were
temporarily supported, removed and reinstated when the basement was completed.
This was a shell and core project for this first stage and was later completed and
converted into a city centre restaurant.
Role Site Manager , reporting to contracts manager.
1 site engineer, sub-contractors.
Project Cost 1 M Duration 6 months.
6. Pier C Dublin Airport;
P J Walls, Client , Aer Rianta;
A six passenger bridge pier for the UK flights, waiting areas, mechanical access ways, lifts, fire exits
and plant rooms. BMS, HIVAC systems, M& E services.
RC Construction with structural steel roof, the envelop of the structure is fair faced RC to the land
side and the air side is an expanse of architectural structural glazing. Systems of operations on this
project had to conform with the Aer Rianta SH & E strategy.
Role Site Manager, reporting to Contracts Manager.
2 site engineers, 2-3 foremen, 1 safety officer, direct labour and sub- contractors.
Project Cost 15M Duration 24 months.
7. The offices of P J W alls;
Walls Tarmac ;
The Walls Group;
R C strip foundations, RC columns to instu RC floor 1st - 2ND floor. Masonry infill. Second floor to roof was
structural steel construction with membrane covered metal deck roof.
HIVAC and M& E systems installed on the roof level in plant rooms.
External finishes are architecturally designed imported cut stone to most facades with architectural metal
modular panels to building rear and resembles the stone facades. Window systems again relate to the stone
facades.
The highest quality internal finishes were specified and installed by the internals architect Ethena Walls.
Role Site Manager , reporting to the Walls MD.
1 site engineer, 1 foreman , 1 site clerk. Direct labour ,Sub-contractors.
Project Cost 4.5 m Duration 8 months.
8. DCU Multi Storey Car Park;
P J Walls, Client DCU.
RC multi storey car park consisting of 8 parking levels and an elaborate front reception area with 4
lifts and an under ground connecting tunnel to the Helix theatre.
R C construction with various wall finishes, terracotta hanging tile, stone cladding cement plaster .
Installation of a sectional pre-cast RC tunnel and reinstatement of campus roads and services.
Role Site Manager, Reporting to Contracts manager.
2 site engineers , 1 foreman, 2 site clerks, Direct labour, sub-contractors.
Project Cost 12M Duration 9 months.
9. Horizon Logistics Park;
P J Walls,
Three high bay industrial units including road access and parking for future units; These units were
the designed proposal for future industrial development land around Dublin Airport by Air Rianta,
now Dublin Airport Authority DAA. Two units of approximately 2000 square metres and one unit of
3500 square metres. With high ceiling levels for storage to facilitate the near-by airport.
RC pad foundation with strip foundation between stanchions, Structural steel portal frame with
insulated wall panels and roof panels . All units had docking bays the large unit with 5 No. Unit
floors were super flat fibre reinforced concrete, each unit had varying sizes of office
accommodation.
Role Site Manager, reporting Wall’s MD;
2 engineers , 1 ganger , 1 foreman. Direct Labour sub-contractors.
Project Cost 8M , Duration 8 months.
10. Recreation Building
Blanchardstown Institute of Technology;
Cleary and Doyle, Dublin I T .
The recreation building one of four on this new campus, housing the campus reception offices ,
campus canteen , kitchens, recreation /study rooms, a basket ball court and changing rooms.
RC foundation and support columns for the structural steel designed roof. Traditional infill masonry
for external walls and internal partitions. Architectural glazing and metal clad soffits .
Role Site Manager, reporting to Contracts Director .
2 site engineers , 1 foreman, 1 safety officer, Direct Labour and sub- contractors.
Project Cost 8M of 30M, Duration 8months.
11. Roe buck Hill Apartments;
Midland Construction, Client, Jennings Family.
Major basement excavation and RC construction to G/L, insitu RC construction to all floors levels
with membrane roof covering at roof. 1 No apartment block with 30 apartments and a Duplex block
20 units. Commercial shop premises a G/L.
Role Site / Project Manager, reporting to Managing Director;
1 site engineer,2 Site Foremen, 1 site clerk, sub-contractors and direct labour.
Project Cost 8M Duration 12months.
12. The Steelworks;
Rogersonreddan, Client Macushla Property Developments;
176 apartments in three high rise blocks, with 8 office accommodation units at G/L . One
high rise office block 6 storeys with penthouse. Lifts, fire escapes , and security systems.
Major basement excavation and construction in R C to the 1ft floor, the remaining 6-7 floors
constructed in pre-cast RC wall/ floor units . The external wall finishes were in hanging wall
tiles, pyroc /stenidoard systems or insulated plastered finishes and the roofs with a
membrane covering. Windows by specialist contractor
Role Senior Construction Manager, reporting to a Contractors Director.
2 Construction managers, 1 finishing foreman, 1 safety officer. Package Contractors;
Project Cost 50M Duration 36 months.
13. PRONI @ TITANIC QUARTER
Williaam Cox Ireland Ltd; Client, Harcourt Construction.
The Co ordination of design and installation for the specialist daylight façade and window systems. Including
the planning of the Williaam Cox ventilation systems to environmental controlled areas.
Role, Northern Ireland Coordinator/ Manager
Reporting to the WCIL Operations Director .
Project cost 1.2 M Euro. Duration 12 Months.
