Computer Science Essay
Computer Science Computer science is one of the fastest growing career fields in modern history. Dating back only a few decades to the late 1950's
and early 1960's, it has become on of the leading industries in the world today. Developed through the technological architecture of electrical
engineering and the computational language of mathematics, the science of computer technology has provided considerable recognition and financial
gain for many of its well deserving pioneers. Originally conceived as an organizational solution to the massive amounts of information kept on nothing

people out of their money for so many years by selling them cheep systems with high megahertz numbers for the processors in them. This is one
reason for the success of the computer industry. When people find out that they have been cheated, they will try to learn more about the product and
probably end up spending more money next time. Either way the computer companies always win. A career in the field ofcomputer science has been
proven to be a worthwhile direction for any young enthusiast and this tren is looking just as bright in the new millenium. Computer science and
technology has much to offer in anyone of its many career paths. Whether working with a large multinational corporation or a smaller private company

reason the computer industry is so promising is that virtually every industry in the world depends on computers to operate. This creates an increasingly

Abstract
In 2003 when Nicholas Carr wrote the article "IT Doesn't Matter" companies were just beginning to utilize information technology as a competitive
advantage. Mr. Carr contends that technology is not a permanent advantage because in time the competition will acquire the same resources and
Information Technology (IT) just becomes another commodity. For the majority of companies throughout the world IT resources have become easily
accessible and affordable. If Mr. Carr's opinion is correct then the equality of IT access has just become a cost of doing...show more content...
"In the earliest phases of its build out; however, an infrastructural technology can take the form of a proprietary technology. As long as access to the
technology is restricted–through physical limitations, intellectual property rights, high costs, or a lack of standards–a company can use it to gain
advantages over rivals." As Laura Acevedo notates in her article Business Benefits of Information Technology, "Companies using a first–movers
strategy can use information technology to create new products, distance their products from the existing market or enhance their customer services.
Companies that follow a low–cost product strategy can look to information technology solutions to reduce their costs through increased productivity
and reduced need for employee overhead." The contention is that once a technology has evolved from being considered a proprietary technology into
an infrastructural technology then the differentiation from one company to the next is inevitably lost.
This leads into Carr's biggest assertion that much like various other infrastructural technologies before it information technology will eventually
become another commodity. Carr identified the price drop of IT has already

My Dad Inspires Me
The family member that inspires me the most if my dad. My dad has been an amazing person for as long as I can remember. He has been successful
ever since he came from Malaysia, he is very talented in many ways, he is hardworking, and almost never gives up. My dad has encouraged me to
always do my best, always study hard, and to be the best person I can be. If my dad was not here, I think I would be a very different person than who I

Archimedes Essay
Archimedes was a Greek mathematician and scientist. He was born in Syracuse, Sicily in the year 287 B.C. He was educated in Alexandria, Egypt.
Due to the lack of information about Greek mathematics, many Greek mathematicians and their works are hardly known. Archimedes is the exception.
Archimedes was very preoccupied with mathematics. For instance, he often forgot to eat and bathe because of his always wanted to solve problems.
He found areas and volumes of spheres, cylinders and plain shapes. He showed that the volume of a sphere is two–thirds of the volume of the smallest
cylinder that can contain the sphere. Archimedes was so proud of this concept that he requested that a cylinder enclosed a sphere, with an explanation

This machine was built for raising water to highland areas in Egypt that could not receive water directly from the Nile River. This device is still used
today for irrigation purposes even is some countries today.
The most famous story of Archimedes life involves the discovery of Archimedes' Principle. The story begins when King Hieron asking a goldsmith
to construct a gold wreath to the immortal gods. After some time, the king came to suspect that the wreath was not pure gold but rather filled with
silver. In order to end his suspicion, the king asked Archimedes to determine whether the wreath was pure gold or filled with gold without destroying
it. Archimedes agreed to try to solve the king's problem. Then one day, while he was taking a bath, Archimedes noticed that the water level rose in the
bath as he entered the water. Archimedes was so excited by this discovery that he jumped out of his bath and ran naked through the streets yelling,
"Eureka, Eureka!!" meaning, I have found it. Archimedes had discovered that a body immersed in a fluid displaces its weight of fluid. This
principle in turn helped Archimedes prove that the gold wreath was not solid gold.
Archimedes was probably most famous during the time he lived because he developed techniques defenses for Syracuse against the Romans. Syracuse
was able to hold off the invasion for three years due to Archimedes's inventions. He invented catapults, which hurled

The Life of Abraham Essay example
God selected Abraham to be the father of the His people. The bible does not directly state why God selected him, but after reading scripture one can
conclude that God selected Abraham due to his great faith. Abraham's life lends itself as an example to all who desire to walk with God.
EARLY LIFE
Abraham was one of three sons born to Terah in the city of Ur of the Chaldeans. Research conducted by Elmer Towns indicates that Abraham was
younger than his two brothers, Nahor and Haran, although the bible does not specifically indicate that (56). The exact date of his birth cannot be
determined, but it is estimated to have been between 2100 and 1800 B.C. (Davis, 159). He was born after the flood and through the family line of
Shem, ten...show more content...
The bible does not indicate how long Abraham lived in Haran, but it does say that he remained there until his father's death. At this juncture in
Abraham's life, God again called out to him.
RESPONSE TO GOD'S CALL
In reaction to God's call, Abraham departed Haran enroute to Canaan. At 75 years of age, he abandoned his way of life assembled his wife, his
nephew Lot, his servants, livestock, and material possessions and moved in accordance with God's leading. Abraham's obedience to God serves as an
example for all believers to emulate. He left his "comfort zone" of living to follow God's spoken promises even though there was definite uncertainty
as to how they were going to come to pass.
Abraham sojourned in faith as God led him on his journey through the land of Canaan. He demonstrated a pattern of reliance on and fellowship with
God during his trek by building altars at stops along the way. Genesis 12:7 points out that God spoke to Abraham in Shechem, promising the land to
his descendants and Abraham constructed an altar. Genesis 12:8 shows that Abraham communed with God after moving from Shechem to Bethel by
erecting an altar. Abraham's movements through Canaan appear to be at God's leading and as a result of their communion, but God does not yet give
him possession of the land. The land through which he and his family are traveling is occupied by other inhabitants. A key point here is that while
Abraham and his family are traveling as

Essay about Photography
The Test of Time: The Power of the Photograph
What is a photograph? The simplicity of taking a photograph leads many to ponder its artistic value. Yet, it is undeniable that there are some photos
that cause an emotional reaction deeper than simply observing a recorded point in time. Surely, there are photographs that cause more reaction than
some modern art pieces. There seems to be two types of photographs. The first classification is the 'time capture' photo – an image with the sole
purpose of recording a particular event or point in time. The second nature of a photo carries a 'deeper meaning,' which has the ability to change the
observer's mood and cause a reaction. But what distinguishes these two varieties? There are a...show more content...
There is clearly an artistic value to this image – it is taken at the location of a massacre of over 200 members of the Great Sioux Nation. However, did
Elliot Erwitt intend a 'deeper meaning' for this photograph? In an interview recorded on his official website, Erwitt declares, "If it turns out to be
entertaining what I do, I'm very pleased. But it's not conscious." It seems that Erwitt claims to not possess artistic intent in his photographs.
However, it is clear that he simply boasts an unconscious artistic eye. It is obvious that the photograph of this church on hallowed ground falls in
the 'deeper meaning' category. The second Elliot Erwitt photo is taken from his official webpage. It too is captured in black and white. The photo,
shown in Figure 2 was taken in France and depicts a man and child riding a bicycle down a road lined with trees. This seems to be a 'time capture'
photo; this particular event can never be perfectly replicated again. Despite the category in which this photo clearly falls into, it is undoubtedly still art
– the setting is too perfect to be unintentional. However, according to Erwitt in his interview, unintentional is exactly the correct word. Erwitt states, "I
take pictures of anything that interests me as I walk around with my camera." This means that many of his photos are taken on a whim; the right place
at the right time. In this case it is the viewer who makes the distinction between

My Life My Journey Essay
As a very small child I don't remember too much, but the things that I do remember were seen through a child's eyes that has made me the person that
I am today and I will always have those memory's with me until my last breath on this earth. In this essay I intend to show how my childhood and
adult life to this point has influenced my life, my journey. By utilizing the adult development theories from this class I also intend on showing how
they relate to my Life experiences and where I am today as an Adult student.
Its funny how as a child you look at things. As time passes, those same child memories become life experiences as an adult. It is stated that

I lost my little brother in 1982 at age 22 in an accident at my parent's home. Robbie was taking down a C.B. antenna and it struck a high power line
that ran into the local General Motors plant. Robbie was killed instantly. As Erickson's stated in his psychosocial development theory, "which
refers to the development within the social environment in which a person lives, primarily focusing on relationships with other people"
(Simanowitz & Pearce. 2003). This had brought back memories of how my relationship was when we were little. I was always kind of upset with
Robbie because he was one of those kids that had that natural athletic ability. Robbie could run faster and throw better, do everything better when
it came to sports, but the real reason I was mad at Robbie most of my childhood life was because every time something went wrong, I always got
the blame and in trouble. Mom would say "You're older you should have known better" Yes she was right most of the time I did know better. I was
the middle child and I was always the one that got into trouble even though Robbie might have done it first. I had a good childhood for the most part, I
can't remember not doing without the things that I really needed as a child. Things like clothes, food, shelter and love from a family. I recall having my

Changes in Life Essay
In my life, I have been exposed to a challenge called change. Change can occur in many different ways and is dealt with in many different ways. I
have come to the awareness that change can be the deepest of all things. I always thought that change occurred when you moved to a state or when
you lost someone real close to you. Those are a challenge to change, yes, but change doesn't have to occur over a climactic incident. It can just appear
overnight when your brain winds up when it's time to do something different. Even with friends that you used to have and know that move on. For
example, most of my friends from elementary school, I don't even talk to them anymore. For obvious reasons, people will turn down the changes in life.
...show more content...
It's depressing how this works, but it's probably the most reason why people change. It's much like peer pressure which usually ends up in the wrong
direction. For example, I was almost peer pressured to consume alcohol and to do smoking. Fortunately, for me, I escaped that change and didn't
experience it. The people we adore love us so much that they want us to remain the way we are forever. Like how my mother always wanted me to
stay the same little child, but I grew up. Not all people can stay the same for a long time. If the people we love and adore would just accept the
change and go with it, they would understand where the change was coming from. It can be shaky to try to stop change and fight against it,
especially if the person wants to change a lot. When I was ready for high school, I was expected to change almost everything in my life. The reason
that somebody wants to change is usually not their choice, but a feeling that the person feels inside their head. Maybe the change isn't the best change,
but if you dig deeper, the person that you adore isn't really changing. They are just trying to find themselves and the one thing they need the most is the
support of the people who they care about the most. When I was attending college, I was expecting a lot of changing to take place. With the support
of my family and friends, it was no big deal for me.
When the people they care about the most, detach their change as

This leads into Carr's biggest assertion that much like various other infrastructural technologies before it information technology will eventually become another commodity. Carr identified the price drop of IT has already

  • 6. Archimedes Essay Archimedes was a Greek mathematician and scientist. He showed that the volume of a sphere is two–thirds of the volume of the smallest cylinder that can contain the sphere. Archimedes was so proud of this concept that he requested that a cylinder enclosed a sphere, with an explanation of this...show more content... This machine was built for raising water to highland areas in Egypt that could not receive water directly from the Nile River. This device is still used today for irrigation purposes even is some countries today. The most famous story of Archimedes life involves the discovery of Archimedes' Principle. The story begins when King Hieron asking a goldsmith to construct a gold wreath to the immortal gods. After some time, the king came to suspect that the wreath was not pure gold but rather filled with silver. In order to end his suspicion, the king asked Archimedes to determine whether the wreath was pure gold or filled with gold without destroying it. Archimedes agreed to try to solve the king's problem. Then one day, while he was taking a bath, Archimedes noticed that the water level rose in the bath as he entered the water. Archimedes was so excited by this discovery that he jumped out of his bath and ran naked through the streets yelling, "Eureka, Eureka!!" meaning, I have found it. Archimedes had discovered that a body immersed in a fluid displaces its weight of fluid. This principle in turn helped Archimedes prove that the gold wreath was not solid gold. Archimedes was probably most famous during the time he lived because he developed techniques defenses for Syracuse against the Romans. Syracuse was able to hold off the invasion for three years due to Archimedes's inventions. He invented catapults, which hurled Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. The Life of Abraham Essay example God selected Abraham to be the father of the His people. The bible does not directly state why God selected him, but after reading scripture one can conclude that God selected Abraham due to his great faith. Abraham's life lends itself as an example to all who desire to walk with God. EARLY LIFE Abraham was one of three sons born to Terah in the city of Ur of the Chaldeans. Research conducted by Elmer Towns indicates that Abraham was younger than his two brothers, Nahor and Haran, although the bible does not specifically indicate that (56). The exact date of his birth cannot be determined, but it is estimated to have been between 2100 and 1800 B.C. (Davis, 159). He was born after the flood and through the family line of Shem, ten...show more content... The bible does not indicate how long Abraham lived in Haran, but it does say that he remained there until his father's death. At this juncture in Abraham's life, God again called out to him. RESPONSE TO GOD'S CALL In reaction to God's call, Abraham departed Haran enroute to Canaan. At 75 years of age, he abandoned his way of life assembled his wife, his nephew Lot, his servants, livestock, and material possessions and moved in accordance with God's leading. Abraham's obedience to God serves as an example for all believers to emulate. He left his "comfort zone" of living to follow God's spoken promises even though there was definite uncertainty as to how they were going to come to pass. Abraham sojourned in faith as God led him on his journey through the land of Canaan. He demonstrated a pattern of reliance on and fellowship with God during his trek by building altars at stops along the way. Genesis 12:7 points out that God spoke to Abraham in Shechem, promising the land to his descendants and Abraham constructed an altar. Genesis 12:8 shows that Abraham communed with God after moving from Shechem to Bethel by erecting an altar. Abraham's movements through Canaan appear to be at God's leading and as a result of their communion, but God does not yet give him possession of the land. The land through which he and his family are traveling is occupied by other inhabitants. A key point here is that while Abraham and his family are traveling as Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Essay about Photography The Test of Time: The Power of the Photograph What is a photograph? The simplicity of taking a photograph leads many to ponder its artistic value. Yet, it is undeniable that there are some photos that cause an emotional reaction deeper than simply observing a recorded point in time. Surely, there are photographs that cause more reaction than some modern art pieces. There seems to be two types of photographs. The first classification is the 'time capture' photo – an image with the sole purpose of recording a particular event or point in time. The second nature of a photo carries a 'deeper meaning,' which has the ability to change the observer's mood and cause a reaction. But what distinguishes these two varieties? There are a...show more content... There is clearly an artistic value to this image – it is taken at the location of a massacre of over 200 members of the Great Sioux Nation. However, did Elliot Erwitt intend a 'deeper meaning' for this photograph? In an interview recorded on his official website, Erwitt declares, "If it turns out to be entertaining what I do, I'm very pleased. But it's not conscious." It seems that Erwitt claims to not possess artistic intent in his photographs. However, it is clear that he simply boasts an unconscious artistic eye. It is obvious that the photograph of this church on hallowed ground falls in the 'deeper meaning' category. The second Elliot Erwitt photo is taken from his official webpage. It too is captured in black and white. The photo, shown in Figure 2 was taken in France and depicts a man and child riding a bicycle down a road lined with trees. This seems to be a 'time capture' photo; this particular event can never be perfectly replicated again. Despite the category in which this photo clearly falls into, it is undoubtedly still art – the setting is too perfect to be unintentional. However, according to Erwitt in his interview, unintentional is exactly the correct word. Erwitt states, "I take pictures of anything that interests me as I walk around with my camera." This means that many of his photos are taken on a whim; the right place at the right time. In this case it is the viewer who makes the distinction between Get more content on HelpWriting.net

As Erickson's stated in his psychosocial development theory, "which refers to the development within the social environment in which a person lives, primarily focusing on relationships with other people" (Simanowitz & Pearce. 2003). This had brought back memories of how my relationship was when we were little. I was always kind of upset with Robbie because he was one of those kids that had that natural athletic ability. Robbie could run faster and throw better, do everything better when it came to sports, but the real reason I was mad at Robbie most of my childhood life was because every time something went wrong, I always got the blame and in trouble. Mom would say "You're older you should have known better" Yes she was right most of the time I did know better. I was the middle child and I was always the one that got into trouble even though Robbie might have done it first. • 10. Changes in Life Essay In my life, I have been exposed to a challenge called change. Change can occur in many different ways and is dealt with in many different ways. I have come to the awareness that change can be the deepest of all things. I always thought that change occurred when you moved to a state or when you lost someone real close to you. Those are a challenge to change, yes, but change doesn't have to occur over a climactic incident. It can just appear overnight when your brain winds up when it's time to do something different. Even with friends that you used to have and know that move on. For example, most of my friends from elementary school, I don't even talk to them anymore. For obvious reasons, people will turn down the changes in life. ...show more content... It's depressing how this works, but it's probably the most reason why people change. It's much like peer pressure which usually ends up in the wrong direction. For example, I was almost peer pressured to consume alcohol and to do smoking. Fortunately, for me, I escaped that change and didn't experience it. The people we adore love us so much that they want us to remain the way we are forever. Like how my mother always wanted me to stay the same little child, but I grew up. Not all people can stay the same for a long time. If the people we love and adore would just accept the change and go with it, they would understand where the change was coming from. It can be shaky to try to stop change and fight against it, especially if the person wants to change a lot. When I was ready for high school, I was expected to change almost everything in my life. The reason that somebody wants to change is usually not their choice, but a feeling that the person feels inside their head. Maybe the change isn't the best change, but if you dig deeper, the person that you adore isn't really changing. They are just trying to find themselves and the one thing they need the most is the support of the people who they care about the most. When I was attending college, I was expecting a lot of changing to take place. With the support of my family and friends, it was no big deal for me. When the people they care about the most, detach their change as Get more content on HelpWriting.net
