An innovative, highly regarded individual with extensive global experience in underground coal mining operations, Safety
and Project Management, I have been responsible for and developed:
● Large-scale mine development and mine extension operations including greenfield and brownfield projects, shaft
sinking and deep level planning and executing using state-of-the-art mining methods.
● Underground total extraction methods such as short wall, long wall and pillar extraction methods
● Development and implementation of safety systems from and maintaining those systems
With over 28 years of experience in coal mining in South Africa and Canada, I have a wide expertise in all surface and underground
mining methods, and I am greatly respected with a first class reputation in the industry.

ACHIEVEMENTS – RESULTS DRIVEN
▪ In 2012 to 2015, involved in the successful start up of a new underground coal mine and the successful closure of the
operating mine with no safety incidents or any related incidents. Also supervised the construction of all buildings of the
new mine’s surface infrastructure.
▪ In 2008 and 2009, Selected, trained and lead a surface and underground mine rescue team to successful competition in
Fernie, BC
▪ In 2006 and 2007, appointed as the Underground Manager of the largest underground coal mine in the world, at that
time.
▪ In 2000 to 2003, Appointed as the Safety Manager of the second largest underground mine in South Africa, within 2 years
achieved 5-star safety status and nominated as the most improved safety professional of the year.
