Abstract
• The purpose of the Inter cultivation disc plough is tillage of soil, shallow cultivation in operations
such as preparation of seedbed, covering seeds and also it can be used to destroying weed seedlings
which are problem for cultivating crops. It can do operation like opening and loosening of the soil.
The discs in the project Inter cultivation disc plough cut through the soil and effectively pulverize.
spacing adjustment is main mechanism of our disc plough spacing adjustment machine, In different
parameters different spacing is required, with the help of spacing adjustment mechanism it is
possible. To adjust space of dics in order to operate on field as per crop, it provides you a switch to
control the spacing adjustment in few seconds and can work in different spaces without opening and
removing harrow discs and creating mess.

Literature Review
1. The three-dimensional model of a single-acting PDH was successfully created SolidWorks 2013, and optimum part
dimensions were achieved by doing FE analysis in ANSYS R15.0 workbench software. The simulation was very
helpful to understand the effect of different forces on the model.
2. The stress induced and the deformations of each component were found to be less than the allowable stress and
maximum deformation of the material selected which signifies the safe design of implement.
3. FEM enables to optimize and simulate the complex agricultural machinery and to investigate the stresses and
deformations induced in the parts well before product development to avoid failure in the later phase of field
evaluation.
4.Murali.G, Dalbir Singh J, done the work on, Case Report, A Fatal Injury to the Gluteal Region and Perineum by a
Disc Harrow: A Case Report, according to his work, Agricultural accidents over the years have grown many manifolds
due to the increased use of modern machineries. Among the different farm machineries used in agriculture
5. Harrow is used for breaking up and smoothing out the surface of the soil, for deeper tillage, to follow the rough
finish left by ploughing operations, to break up clods (lumps of soil) and to provide a finer finish, a good tilth or soil
structure that is suitable for seedbed use. Here we present a case, where a child met with a fatal incident in the
farm while his parents were ploughing the field with one of the modern advanced ploughing machine “the disc
harrow”.

6.Rahul kumar yadav, prashant singh and saurabh kumar singh, done the work on, Performance analysis of rotavator
and other tillage implement driven by the tractor
7.Performance analysis of rotavater and other tillage implements in the field during the year 2014-15 is calculated in this
research paper performance analysis of rotavator and other tillage system is calculated the field capacity, Fuel
consumption, actual, theoretical speed performance index and energy requirement for preparation of seed bed with the
performance of rotavator is calculated in plot with area of 60 x 20 m2 the combination of ploughing ploughing +
cultivating, ploughing + disc harrowing, ploughing + Rotavating, Single operation of rotavator and double operation of
rotavator with speed of 5.21 km/h gave the highest performance index 83.34% and energy consumption was 586.73
MJ/h in this field area rotavator performance index is 25.75 respectively. This study was undertaken in investigate the
effect of different combination of primary and secondary tillage implement.
8.GaneshUpadhyay, Hifjur Raheman and ShowkatRasool, done the work on, Three Dimensional Modelling and Stress
Analysis of a Powered Single Acting Disc Harrow Using FEA, according to his work.
9.The three-dimensional model of a powered single acting disc harrow was created in SolidWorks 2013 and then the stress
analysis was carried out using Finite Element 10.Analysis (FEA) well before development of the designed tillage machinery to
obtain optimum dimensions of different parts and to analyze the maximum stress and deformation in each component of the
system.

Problem Statement
1.For removal of weeds and unnecessary weedseedlings Disc type blade harrows are used, specially in the small
spaces between crop line
2.Different crops have different spacing line, disc plough without spacing adjustment needs to modify disc again and
again as per spacing parameter.
3.To solve this problem spacing adjustment mechanism is needed to control the distance of disc between the crop
line.

Objectives of Project
1.The main objective of this project is to design & development of inter cultivation disc plough spacing adjustment
mechanism. by providing an changes in conventional method to improve the performance of conventional disc
plough machines.
2.To make a machine which minimize time, effort, manpower & cost by using new spacing adjustment method.
3.The conventional spacing adjustment method have solve problems ofextra efforts which are carried by farmers of
changing discs removing and fixing according to space line, working in congested area where big machines or
tractors don’t work and farmers have to remove weeds using hand,etc to overcome the problems in conventional
method, we are Designing and Developing inter cultivation disc plough spacing adjustment mechanism

Future Scope
• The spacing between the two discs of the blade harrows can be adjusted according to operational
needs. The inter cultivation disc plough spacing adjustment mechanism will be used to address the
issues with the current method. This system will save time,effort and man power.
• This idea of spacing adjustment can be implanted in many other machineries and can be modified as
per requirement.
• This mechanism costs less than other agricultural machineries.

Design Calculations/Manufacturing details
The machine is basically made up of mild steel.
Mild steel is readily available in market.
M.S. has carbon content from 0.15% to 0.30%. They are easily wieldable thus can be hardened only.
In mechanical design the components are listed down and stored on the basis of their procurement in two
categories.

F = force to be applied on conveyer = 1 kg = 9.81 N.
(Assume) R = gear Dia. = 40mm.

N = Speed of the motor = 60 rpm. (Assume)

Power is transmitted from the motor shaft to
the input shaft by means of an gear drive.
Conclusions
Disc type blade harrows are used for different purposes like removal of weeds and stubbles,
crushing of clods working of soil to shallow depth, covering the seeds, intercutivation and harvesting of
groundnut etc. As per measuring factor between two crops ,disc plough must be adjusted .To adjust
space of dics in order to operate on field as per crop, machine without spacing adjustment have to
open and remove extra discs in order to work between particular space as compare to disc plough
spacing adjustment machine , it provides you a switch to control the spacing adjustment in few seconds
and can work in different spaces without opening and removing machineries and creating mess and
wasting time
As compared to other plougs our dics ploug is cost effective , This ploug can be operated or handled
by individual person ,spacing adjustment is maintained with the help of motor which works on solar
energy. The conventional spacing adjustment method have solve problems of harvesting with affordable
price machine , to overcome the problems in conventional method, we are doing to Design &

Abstract • The purpose of the Inter cultivation disc plough is tillage of soil, shallow cultivation in operations such as preparation of seedbed, covering seeds and also it can be used to destroying weed seedlings which are problem for cultivating crops. It can do operation like opening and loosening of the soil. The discs in the project Inter cultivation disc plough cut through the soil and effectively pulverize. spacing adjustment is main mechanism of our disc plough spacing adjustment machine, In different parameters different spacing is required, with the help of spacing adjustment mechanism it is possible. To adjust space of dics in order to operate on field as per crop, it provides you a switch to control the spacing adjustment in few seconds and can work in different spaces without opening and removing harrow discs and creating mess. The three-dimensional model of a single-acting PDH was successfully created SolidWorks 2013, and optimum part dimensions were achieved by doing FE analysis in ANSYS R15.0 workbench software. The simulation was very helpful to understand the effect of different forces on the model. 2. The stress induced and the deformations of each component were found to be less than the allowable stress and maximum deformation of the material selected which signifies the safe design of implement. 3. FEM enables to optimize and simulate the complex agricultural machinery and to investigate the stresses and deformations induced in the parts well before product development to avoid failure in the later phase of field evaluation. 4.Murali.G, Dalbir Singh J, done the work on, Case Report, A Fatal Injury to the Gluteal Region and Perineum by a Disc Harrow: A Case Report, according to his work, Agricultural accidents over the years have grown many manifolds due to the increased use of modern machineries.   • 6. 6.Rahul kumar yadav, prashant singh and saurabh kumar singh, done the work on, Performance analysis of rotavator and other tillage implement driven by the tractor 7.Performance analysis of rotavater and other tillage implements in the field during the year 2014-15 is calculated in this research paper performance analysis of rotavator and other tillage system is calculated the field capacity, Fuel consumption, actual, theoretical speed performance index and energy requirement for preparation of seed bed with the performance of rotavator is calculated in plot with area of 60 x 20 m2 the combination of ploughing ploughing + cultivating, ploughing + disc harrowing, ploughing + Rotavating, Single operation of rotavator and double operation of rotavator with speed of 5.21 km/h gave the highest performance index 83.34% and energy consumption was 586.73 MJ/h in this field area rotavator performance index is 25.75 respectively. Conclusions Disc type blade harrows are used for different purposes like removal of weeds and stubbles, crushing of clods working of soil to shallow depth, covering the seeds, intercutivation and harvesting of groundnut etc. As per measuring factor between two crops ,disc plough must be adjusted .To adjust space of dics in order to operate on field as per crop, machine without spacing adjustment have to open and remove extra discs in order to work between particular space as compare to disc plough spacing adjustment machine , it provides you a switch to control the spacing adjustment in few seconds and can work in different spaces without opening and removing machineries and creating mess and wasting time As compared to other plougs our dics ploug is cost effective , This ploug can be operated or handled by individual person ,spacing adjustment is maintained with the help of motor which works on solar energy.
