Title: Design & Analysis of Hollow Light Weight Metal Geometries
Description: Steam turbine blades are considered to analyze and compare the hollow
lightweight structures (HLS) and solid structures, emphasis on Hollow lightweight structures. By
employing direct metal sintering process (DMLS), reliability in hollow lightweight structures is
obtained. Advantage of considering a hollow lightweight structure is, to save overall weight can
be converted into a solid structure up to 63% and steam turbine blade a hollow lightweight
steam turbine blade is, to save overall weight can be converted into a solid structure steam
turbine blade up to 21%. By relating these two aspects, it is beneficial to society to implement
advanced blade technology that enhances turbine efficiency.
B.E. Mechanical Engineering
Title: Design & Fabrication of Serration Forming Machine
Description: Serration is the roughness surface. Which area the flange ends to be connect. It is to
prevent the leakage using the gasket. Addition to controlling compression, these rings serve to
locate the gasket centrally within the bolt circle. Inner rings are used where the material gasket with
has a tendency for inward buckling. End flange face serrations getting damaged while handling
the valve body. It is very difficult to rectify this damage on the serrated face. Introducing Portable
Serration forming Machine to avoid damages on serrated faces.
