3. What is a MOOC?
• A MOOC is an online website which connects people who are studying on MOOCs
but mostly it connects people who are studying the same specific topic.
• You can only access MOOC on the internet.
• It offers free online courses for students, teachers, learning specialists, academics,
everyone can comment.
• People can exchange ideas on MOOC.
• It encourages responsibility on individuals.
4. History of MOOC
• There are 108 partners and 600 courses offered by MOOC.
• More than 160,000 students in 190 countries signed up.
• MOOC was offered by HASTAC in 2006 and more than 100000 people
signed up for the course.
• At first MOOC was called massive open online and connectivist.
• MOOC stands for Massive Open Online Courses.

• I want to use Mooc to expand my own knowledge in my own field.
• My Interests are Life Orientation and school guidance and support
• School guidance and support enables me as a teacher to have one on one interaction
with the learner in a form of counselling.
• Life Orientation because it is central to the holistic development of the learners. It
address skills, knowledge, personal , social, emotional and physical growth of the
learners and allows the learners the opportunity to interact with the teacher and
Mocc will help me as a teacher to be able to explore other Life orientation lessons
that are more learner centered.

• Preparing for university
• As a future teacher, Mooc will help me to approach and assist learners who
struggle in terms of adopting in the university because I can access Mooc
anytime and anywhere and also learners are able to access.
• Mooc is free and it will give them the opportunity to share their opinions
and give feedback.
