 Compressors – Removal of travel-bearings and thrust-collars using high pressure hydraulic tools.
 Seals - Installation of labyrinth-seals, John Crane dry-gas-seals and white-metal bearings using Siemens
special-tools.
 Couplings - Calculation and installation of shim-packs required for the low and high speed coupling spacer
shafts.
 Pipe-strain and Flange Management - Measurement and rectification of pipe-strain, following of flange
management procedures,
 Laser Alignment–Useof PruftechnikRotalign laser-alignersto alignthecompressorstrainsto within.04 of
a millimetre.
 Alignment of the lube-oil systems – This was also to .04mm tolerance.
 TEG (triethyleneglycol) plunger-pumps - Rebuildingandre-alignmentof TEGplunger pumps,andcooler-fan
pulleys, with measurement of fin-tip clearance and pitch and adjusted as necessary.
 Nitrogen gas-leak test - Set-up and completion of testing and rectification of leaks.
 ShutDowns - Assistingin preparation by swingingblinds,in strictadherenceto theOrigin ISSoW procedure
for working in a live plant.
 Reactivemaintenance–Work undertaken forboth Siemens andOrigin,to removemachininggearboxcones,
under Siemens warranty.
Mastermyne - Underground Fitter
 Installation of underground conveyor-beltsystems,includingmaindrive-head motors,belt-maintenance
stationsaswell asservicingundergroundvehiclesdaily.
Royal Australian Navy - Marine Mechanical Fitter
