Safe operation of production and utility
facilities to achieve production, safety and environmental
Targets. Troubleshoot and carryout online diagnostics for operational
problems. Part of the Emergency response team, Onscene Commander or
Incident Control Team. . Training and coaching members of the
operations/emergency response team to build a cohesive team; I see team
building as one of the major elements in a successful, safety conscious, cost
effective unit.
Liase with Onshore and Offshore Operations Engineers and co-ordinate
with maintenance, construction and project teams.
Operations Technician. Control Room Technician
Overview: Operate and monitor the oil, gas, produced water and associated systems via a control room
man machine interface. Ensure that all systems are operated safely, efficiently and with maximum
availability and that emergency systems are maintained in a state of readiness and availability. Carry out
routine tasks and servicing. Responsible for facilitating the preparation and isolation of plant and
equipment for maintenance and reinstatement, including on line function testing pre-start integrity checks,
pressure and leak testing. Carry out emergency response duties as per Site Emergency Plan.
Scope: An extensive knowledge of site production and utilities plant operation, emergency shutdown
systems and control systems.
Magnus Production Technician
Overview: Operate and monitor the wellheads, oil, gas, produced water and associated systems. Ensure
that all systems are operated safely, efficiently and with maximum availability and that emergency systems
are maintained in a state of readiness and availability. Responsible for the preparation and isolation of plant
and equipment for maintenance and reinstatement, including pressure and leak testing. Carry out
emergency response duties as per Site Emergency Plan.

1994 - AUG 94 SENIOR COMMISSIONING ENGINEER CHEVRON -TENGIZ
Responsible for the Pre Commissioning / Commissioning of a two train gas and
oil separation plant and the removal of sulphur using the "Claus And Scott"
process from the sour gas. Involved in close liaison with various discipline
engineers and technical support groups to ensure that the detailed discipline input
is correctly interpreted and included in the procedures. Duties also include
writing and implementing procedures for the high pressure Nitrogen / Helium
leak testing of the compression trains and associated system
1992 -1994 TECHNICIAN GRADE 7 -AVONMOUTH LPG TERMINAL
Handling Propane and Butane from Wytch Farm. Assisting and supervising the
unloading of trains, loading of road vehicles and the loading and unloading of
ships. Duties also include the monitoring of the storage, transfer, stench injection
and reliquefication of Propane and Butane in a highly computerised environment.
Basic routine maintenance was also carried out.
1979 - 1992 PROCESS OPERATOR - LUBE OIL / VDU COMPLEX
Complex consists of Propane Deasphalting Unit, Furfural Extraction Unit, Dime
Dewaxing Unit, and Ferrofining Unit, Vacuum. Distillation Unit, So2 Extraction
Unit, Tankage and back up utilities.
1976 -1979 PROCESS APPRENTICE - REFINERY
A general learning of the method of refinery process operations such as: Crude
Distillation, Vacuum Distillation, Catalytic Cracking, Catalytic Reforming, Lube
Oil Complex, So2 Kerosene Treatment, Sulphur Recovery, Boiler House and
Water Treatments, Tank Farm, Queens Dock, Laboratory Testing, First Aid and
Fire Fighting Techniques.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
During my time with BP I have been involved with major routine maintenance overhauls where priority was the safe
shutdown and handover to the maintenance department.
After handover I have supervised BP personnel as well as contractors on maintenance work, ensuring that safety
regulations were strictly adhered to. Prior to start up I have helped co-ordinate gas freeing and pressure testing of
units as part of an operations team .I have received the benefit of intensive training and I have gained sound
experience in process plant operation. Additional duties include the training of junior operators .I am waiting on my
full verification status as a D32/D33 Assessor. I am an advanced first aider, and hold a full clean driving licence
I also attained the Tallow Chandler Award as top apprentice.
