deep well, diesel driven fire pumps and gearboxes carrying out alignment and
commissioning checks.

Commissioning Technician. Installation, set to work and commissioning of two new
General electric LM2500 Gas turbines, generators and auxiliaries.
Carrying out Rota Line laser alignment and commissioning on LP, MP and HP gas
compressors working closely with the vendor to achieve desired tolerances making
adjustments when required.
Assembly of major parts on gas compressors including couplings at low speed and
high speed ends on completion of alignment and soft footing adjustments.
Performing Authority trained in and experienced in the use of sentinel pro CSSOW.
Familiar with P and IDs.
Worked on the deluge firewater system and following schematic diagrams carried out
pre commissioning checks.
Worked on the commissioning of the Deaerator tower and vacuum pumping units.

Engineer covering Scotland and England carrying out ppm, breakdowns and repairs
on air conditioning, ventilation, package units, chillers and cellar coolers. Responsible
for completing Risk Assessment forms and method statements for each job.
Attend emergency breakdowns and repairs on boilers and heating systems, including
pumps. Water heaters pipework and leaks.
Respond to call outs on trend systems controlling HVAC.
Carry out complete installations of HVAC equipment including connection of power
supplies, pipework brazing, pressure testing and commissioning.
Worked as a contractor at a power plant by N ERGY responsible for the maintenance
and breakdown repair of two absorption chillers and their associated water pumps and
oil pumps.

A wide range of experience in all aspects of engineering and maintenance within
ships, workshops and dockyards as well as training establishments.
Worked unsociable hours as lead diesel engine maintainer diagnosing faults,
overseeing defect rectification and maintenance on four paxman vallenta diesel
generators, high pressure compressors and pumps.
Worked on Rolls Royce Tyne, Olympus and Spey gas turbine propulsion engines and
the associated systems including installation, commissioning, watch keeping, defect
rectification and routine maintenance. Also shut downs and flash ups.

systems including desalination/reverse osmosis, refrigeration, chilled water, diesel
generators, boilers and evaporators, sewage treatment plant, gas propulsion,

breakdowns.
As team leader supervised personnel to oversee the running of air conditioning and
refrigeration plant and three chilled water plants and ventilation systems.
Carried out machinery breakdown drills on switchboards and ships control Centre as
marine engineer second officer of the watch. Responding to emergencies and
directing and advising engineers to carry out safety drills on equipment
Mechanical fitter and maintainer to various ships and submarines in dock. Including
nuclear submarines.
Involved in whole ship and plant shut downs and flash ups including engines and gas
turbines, taking ship into and out of dry dock and refit on several occasions.
Whilst getting ship ready for sea after refit I was involved in the Commissioning of
various engine room systems including fuel, lube oil and cooling systems supplying
engines and turbines.
Team leader of the firefighting and damage control team of the after section base
where quick response and demanding situations occurred in the event of any ships
fire, floods or NBCD attacks
Worked on the fuel logistics section where I had to monitor the ships fuel and oil
consumption. Operate and maintain fuel centrifugal separators, fuel boost and transfer
pumps with a view to the importance of the ships ballast. Also operated and
maintained equipment for the AVCAT helicopter fuel. Took fuel samples and carried
out flash point tests and water contamination tests on fuel and viscosity tests on oil
Carried out many repairs on engines, pumps, pipework and valves on various
systems, often under pressure at sea under arduous conditions.
Routinely took Vibration Analysis on pumps, motors and generators among other
equipment to determine wear on bearings and vibration mounts.
Team leader of thirty eight men responsible for the twenty four hour a day running of
their living environment and general welfare including health and safety.

5. Personal information
I am thirty five years old and married with a family, I now live in Denny but come
from Glasgow. I have lived and worked outside Scotland for a lot of my life. I am in
date with the required BOSIET MIST Norwegian escape chute CA-EBS and Medical.
I have a vantage card and I am currently using the skills I gained in the Royal Navy
working Offshore in an environment that values team work and health and safety as
much as I do. I have a wide range of multi skills including Mechanical and Marine
Engineering Maintenance, Electrical and HVAC.
I am looking for further employment and new opportunities offshore or elsewhere
within the Oil and Gas, Energy and Construction industry including plant shutdowns
from April 2015 due to completion of my current works and contract.
