Experience
Currently a field services Supervisor looking after UGL’s interest in Dragline maintenance
across 3 sites in the southern and central Bowen Basin. This includes, but is not limited to,
liaising with client representatives, organizing and scheduling UGL maintenance crew’s,
quoting on task’s to be carried out, creating procedures for reporting and executing/planning
maintenance days.
Until March 2015 with UGL Major Projects as a Mechanical Supervisor. During my time with
the Major Projects division we have executed four major shutdowns including two boom
lower/raise, rear leg removal and upgrade, drum change outs, in-situ upper and lower roller
path section change outs and multiple reactive maintenance events in which I was involved
first hand with the planning and execution of. During my time in this role I developed a full
set of mechanical maintenance procedures for Bucyrus-Erie 2570W draglines.
Previously a leading hand fitter with Hastings Deering building a Caterpillar 7495 electric
rope shovel at BMA’s Caval Ridge Mine south of Moranbah. (First in Australia in Cat colors)
Once this project was complete I moved across to the construction of two CAT 6040
hydraulic excavators. Projects competed December 2013.
Whilst as a Supervisor for United Group at Ensham Resources, Working alongside the
clients maintenance coordinator’s I have been responsible for the planning and scheduling of
Dragline and Coal Plant maintenance days, Mini shut downs, Supervision and planning
during breakdown events and the development of site wide Standard Working Procedures,
High level risk assessments and safety implementations/improvements across site.
As a fitter with United Group I have been involved first hand in the ongoing preventative and
reactive maintenance within the field maintenance team at Ensham.
