WORK EXPERIENCE
Lead Subsea Manifold Structures and Connectors Engineer - Liwan
HUSKY ENERGY (CHINA) - December 2010 to August 2013
3-1
Working as part of the small Husky Energy SES management team based in Kuala Lumpur, which was
responsible for the Subsea Structures part of the Liwan 3-1 subsea development in the South China Sea. I
reported directly to the SES Equipment Manager, covering structural and mechanical aspects of the Subsea
Structures including the connection systems, valves and the foundations system. I had three engineers
reporting to myself. Cameron was the main SES EPC contractor.
The Liwan 3-1 development is a gas field consisting of initially of ten subsea production wells tied back to
three subsea structures, a PLEM, an eight slot manifold and a six slot manifold, in a water depth of 1500 m
approx. The subsea development is tied back to a shallow water host platform, via two looped 22 inch diameter
flowlines, where the gas is processed before onward transmission to shore.
Work entailed overseeing the Cameron produced designs and documents, ensuring all designs and equipment
meets Company requirements and specifications. This included attending the weekly progress meetings with
Cameron, and the weekly meetings between Husky SES/EPCI teams.
Subsea Systems Engineer - BP Chirag Oil Project, BP Shar Deniz, and KUDU
J P KENNY - London - February 2010 to December 2010
Assigned to the BP Shar Deniz (high pressure/high temperature) Project, to work in the SPS group on the
Subsea Manifolds overseeing the Design Contractor (FMC).
Previously, I worked on the BP Chirag Oil Project as a Valve Package Engineer.
Additionally, I was assigned to the KUDU Pre-FEED Project as the SPS Engineer. This study was to develop
and compare field architecture for both SPS and FPS development options, establish price estimates, and
make a development recommendation for FEED.
Both Projects propose the use or HIPPS.
An important aspect of the BP projects is the reliability strategy, which influences the selection, design and
verification processes of equipment to mitigate project exposure to risk of un-proven/un-reliable technology.

The USAN field in 850m water and will be developed with 23 production wells tying back to 8 off-line subsea
production manifolds, which produce to an FPSO. The subsea development is supported by water injection
and has gas injection wells for separated gas disposal.
Lead Subsea Equipment Engineer - Tullow - KUDU Gas Field Development
WOODHILL FRONTIER (J.P.KENNY) - March 2005 to September 2005
Responsible for the subsea architecture, Manifold, Xmas trees and Flowbases for the Conceptual and FEED
and ITT Phases of the Project.
The Kudu gas field is in 170m of water with a 180km tie-back to shore.
The Conceptual Phase involved developing field development options, analysing the options from a technical
and risk and cost view point to arrive at a single solution for carry into FEED. Feed involved sufficient

I reported directly to the SES Equipment Manager, covering structural and mechanical aspects of the Subsea Structures including the connection systems, valves and the foundations system. I had three engineers reporting to myself. Cameron was the main SES EPC contractor. The Liwan 3-1 development is a gas field consisting of initially of ten subsea production wells tied back to three subsea structures, a PLEM, an eight slot manifold and a six slot manifold, in a water depth of 1500 m approx. The subsea development is tied back to a shallow water host platform, via two looped 22 inch diameter flowlines, where the gas is processed before onward transmission to shore.
