NOTE
e have come a long way with the way one
Wlearns.
When formal education came into the picture for children,
parents were aware about the importance of learning in
their childā€™s life. This led the foundation of schools and
reputed universities worldwide. While some countries then
still followed their self-developed methods of educating
their younger generation, the European inļ¬‚uence deļ¬ned a
proper education structure, giving formal education a
framework in the form of schools, universities, and
institutions.
Walking ahead in the times of the Industrial Revolution,
schools, colleges, and universities became a necessity for
everyone. Industries started to rely more on these
educational institutions that equipped the students with a
complete understanding of the subject. Little did everyone
know that the educational institutions now had a purpose to

OF LEARNING
education: to ļ¬nd employment opportunities for the
upcoming generation. Though this education model clearly
had some loopholes, but the needs of the human race
recovering from the two World Wars were not just limited
to education but survival, progress, and lifestyle.
Moving towards the end of the 20th century, the world
realized that educational institutions like schools, colleges,
and universities were not enough. Addressing this unique
need in the educational space, entrepreneurs endured into
creating a society that specialized students in training them
for jobs that they were suitable for. Diļ¬€erent coaching
centers, private tutors, and even educational societies were
set up to meet various industriesā€™ expectations across the
world.
st
Entering the 21 century, the internet set up its own
educational institution. Still being in the growing stages
then, the internet served as a medium of information. Soon,
the ever-increasing demands and the awaking of the
population to be more personalized created a gap between
the various industries and people.
While industries focused on closing this gap, they grew
exceptionally well, redeļ¬ning and restructuring everything
we see today. However, in the eļ¬€orts of closing one gap, the
gap between educational institutions and the industry
increased. With the internet being at the core of everything
in this modern world, new-age entrepreneurs decided to
provide the students with necessary tools that educational
institutions failed to deliver.
Entrepreneurs mixed education and modern technology to
create something that would help the world close the gap.
EdTech companies became more vibrant when learners
demanded special attention to the unique ļ¬elds of their
interests.
EdTech companies made a name for themselves in the
changing business paradigm of this modern world.
However, the required boost came in when the world was
forced to stay in their houses during the COVID-19
pandemic. EdTech took up the responsibility to keep the
learning process going even during such uncertain times.
In this edition of The Knowledge Review, we set out on an
endeavour to ļ¬nd ā€˜The 5 Best Education and EdTech
Companies in Spain, 2022,ā€™ that are deļ¬ning the modern
ways of learning and education across the globe. This
edition will provide you with detailed insights about the
companies and what innovative measures they introduced
to enhance the education and learning experience.

The New Education Landscape after COVID-19
Gonzalo Manrique

Technology is the gift that just
keeps on giving. Though
educational institutions have
been inculcating technology into their
pedagogy for some time now, most of
the schools and universities have now
realised the signiļ¬cance of digital
transformation in the education world
amid the COVID-19 pandemic. With
the increased use of online classes and
video conferencing solutions, it is time
to implement and build technology that
will appropriately transform the way
learning is oļ¬€ered to students.
The role of technology has become
much more predominant, and its
impact will be felt much more
comprehensively in the ļ¬eld of
education. But education is far from
being the only ļ¬eld which has felt the
full might of the tech revolution. From
entertainment to work, from healthcare
to shopping, every aspect that aļ¬€ects
modern life has come online. Our lives
are ruled by technology in many sorts
of ways.

entertainment to work, from healthcare
to shopping, every aspect that aļ¬€ects
modern life has come online. Our lives
are ruled by technology in many sorts
of ways.
So, it would be appropriate to state that
individuals who have a better, more in-
depth understanding of technology can,
not only have more employment and
career avenues available to them, but
also can play a major role in the way
we progress as a society. Who knows,
the future might demand each and
every individual to have a detailed
comprehension of some or the other
subsidiary of technology.
To advance into the future with a
conļ¬dent and competent outlook, we
need institutions that can leverage the
tech to teach the tech to aspiring
individuals. Individuals who, after
receiving the right guidance and tuition
can harness the full might of this
ubiquitous force and use it for the
betterment of our civilization. And to
train these individuals, we need
institutions that build a trainable
mindset and inculcate the right kind of
skills, competencies, and knowledge to
turn them into tech wizards. In this
context, schools like Ironhack School
really manage to help people who need
to get a job and wish to start a career in
tech.
Ironhack is an international school
with campuses in Amsterdam,
Barcelona, Berlin, Lisbon, Madrid,
Mexico City, Miami, Paris, and Sao
Paulo that was founded to disrupt the
way we learn about technology. The
school is located at the heart of the
main capitals in coworking spaces. It
also has a ā€˜remote programā€™ in Europe
and the US.
The programs are taught in English,
Spanish, Portuguese, and French.
Through its unique disruptive approach
Ironhack was the first school in Spain to offer bootcamps
in technology. It has an extensive network of alumni and
hiring partners throughout the country and is the most
renowned school in technology thanks to its
partnerships and quality education

students to ļ¬nd meaningful careers in
Web Development, UX/UI Design,
Data Analytics and Cybersecurity by
oļ¬€ering immersive learning
experiences to extremely motivated
people.
A higher purpose
Ironhackā€™s higher purpose is to
transform the education space by
making it customer-centric and
outcomes-driven. Students ļ¬nish the
program with a new way of thinking
and approaching problems, resulting in
new jobs, promotions at their current
jobs, or companies theyā€™ve built.
At Ironhack, the staļ¬€ and studentsā€™
values are: can-do attitude, love people
and their stories, collaborate to grow,
and passion above anything else.
Delivering the optimal teaching
styles
Ironhack works closely with
companies and the education team is
aware of the trends in the job market.
The programs and teachers adapt their
curriculum to the current needs of tech
professionals. Thanks to the short
length of the program (9 weeks full
time, 24 weeks part-time), it is easy to
iterate and make changes fast.
Standing Apart
Ironhack was the ļ¬rst school in Spain
to oļ¬€er bootcamps in technology. The
popular bootcamps facilitated by
Ironhack are:
ā€¢ Web Development Bootcamp ā€“
where students get to learn to code
their own ideas
ā€¢ UX/UI Design Bootcamp ā€“ where
students get to learn all about user
experience and interface design
ā€¢ Data Analytics Bootcamp ā€“ where
students get to learn all about data
processing
ā€¢ Cybersecurity Bootcamp ā€“ where
students get to learn all about
systemsā€™ security and virtual
protection
It has an extensive network of alumni
and hiring partners throughout the
country and is the most renowned
school in technology thanks to its
partnerships and quality education. The
placement rate of this school is above
85% in the next 6 months after
graduation.
The Trailblazing Founders
Gonzalo Manrique (CEO and Co-
founder of Ironhack) is a civil
engineer that after completing his
bachelorā€™s degree and working in one
of the biggest international companies

decided to study an MBA at Wharton
School. In this university he met Ariel
QuiƱones, Co-founder and Co-CEO
of Ironhack.
They are part of the Endeavor
Entrepreneurs and the investors behind
Ironhack are Lumos Capital (with
whom Ironhack closed a round of 20
million dollars in 2020), Bridhteye, and
Creas.
The Lockdowns and the EdTech
Push
ā€œThe lockdown was a tough time. But
the Ironhack team, having a strong
grasp on technology already, had a fast
and easy transition into the new
educational landscape introduced by
the COVID-19 pandemic,ā€ remarked
the astute CEO, Gonzalo Manrique.
ā€œWe have been teaching our programs
remotely, allowing people from
diļ¬€erent parts of the country to study
from the comfort of their homes,ā€ he
added.
Now that the situation in Spain is
improving, with more people getting
vaccinated, the Madrid campus is open
and people can take advantage and use
the Barcelona facilities to study and
work from there. Ironhackā€™s
curriculum remains the same, it is
taught in person or online. But, of
course, the company uses collaborative
tools and Zoom for online classes. It
has improved its ā€˜Career Weekā€™, in
order to make sure its students are
ready to work remotely.
The Future Awaitsā€¦
The future is already here and Ironhack
is not about to slow down anytime
soon. Ironhack Schoolā€™s goal is to
make education and work in tech
accessible for everyone.
ā€œWe keep working on increasing
access to our bootcamps, thanks to
disruptive payment methods such as
Deferred Tuition, Income Share
Agreements and scholarships. We have
a strong commitment to diversity and
inclusion, and we want to break down
barriers thanks to our Remote
programs. Also, we want to help
companies to reskill and upskill their
employees, so we have recently
launched the Ironhack Enterprise
department to keep working closely
with companies,ā€ concluded the
indomitable Gonzalo Manrique.

Tips to Motivate
Students
Study During
the Pandemics?
e are living in unprecedented times;
Wpeople are being forced to stay at home
and become digital citizens because of
the COVID-19 pandemic. With schools, colleges,
and other educational institutions undergoing
signiļ¬cant structural changes, students may feel lost,
confused, or frightened about their future. The
transformation of technology in the education sector
has helped a lot during the pandemic to connect
students with tutors.
Food for Thoughts
ā€¢ More engagement:
Some parents lack communication with
their children because of their heavy
working lifestyle. Even amid a
coronavirus outbreak, it is one of the
most eļ¬€ective strategies to encourage
kids to improve their grades. This will
only happen if we maintain open lines
of communication with students and
give them assistance when they require
it.
Kids are so energetic and ļ¬lled with
curiosity, and the most important thing
is that they do not know how to
manage their time. The engagement of
parents makes it easier to schedule
study time and fun time. Relation
between the parent and child becomes
stronger with strong communication.
Parents are idol people for the kids
from birth, and they learn more from
the parents than the other tutors.
ā€¢ Have communication with
tutors:
Communication between parents and
teachers should be ongoing and have
clear communication channels from the
outset. Keeping parents active on a
regular basis fosters a sense of
community that helps both the child
and the school. Because one of the
strongest indicators of student outcome
is parental expectations, clear and high
expectations should be set from the
start.
Parents can become more engaged and
involved in virtual class and online
school activities if communication is
good. Firm parent-teacher contact
improves childrenā€™s academic
performance and fosters a sense of
community.
ā€¢ The reward for achieving goals:
Remember that there are numerous
prizes available, such as praise,
additional time in bed, or a trip to the
playground. Keep your rewards simple
and focused on something you can
oļ¬€er again and again. Use incentives to
persuade students to do something they
might not otherwise do. Initially, give
frequent and minor prizes, and then
progressively increase the time
between awards as pupils begin to see
the inherent beneļ¬ts of their conduct.
Kids are aware of the exact conduct
that is being rewarded. Give rewards
for eļ¬€orts rather than results. Give
surprise rewards every now and then to
boost their morale. Make the rewards
timing and type unexpected. People are
more likely to persist in the conduct
that leads to the reward if they know a
reward is available but do not know
when they will get it.
Working with older pupils on a plan
outlining what eļ¬€ort and outcomes will
result in incentives is a good idea.
Conclusion
Being motivated during the pandemic
is a challenging task for everyone.
Pandemic made every industry come
on the knee and start doing activities
from home environment. People
appreciated it at the start, but it has
become a nightmare for every single
person at some point. Students have
taken it very diļ¬€erently because
staying at home is the last thing they
do at this age.
Motivation is needed at every stage of
life, and it becomes important when
you are stuck in a situation like the
COVID-19 pandemic.
- Rahul Manoj Thakar
Faculties across the world took
uponworld have not only taken the
diļ¬ƒcult task of transitioning and
adapting to online modes of instruction
but also Multitasking by learning new
technology, advising, having online
oļ¬ƒce hours, attending meetings, and
responding to students who requested
Zoom meetings became the new norm
irrespective of the working
timeworking hours, and much more.
Everyone joined together with one
common goal in mind: the beneļ¬t of
the pupils. As we look ahead, we must
make decisions with a long-term
perspective in mind. Faculty must walk
a ļ¬ne line between keeping students
motivated and maintaining their own
morale. Student motivation will be a
major diļ¬ƒculty regardless of which
learning paradigm is used: online,
blended, hybrid, or a variety of other
possibilities.
Below are a few things that can be
done to keep students studying during
the pandemic.
ā€¢ Progress monitoring:
Setting goals and keeping track of
progress are essential motivators
because they aļ¬€ect both the likelihood
of success and the importance of the
activity. Have a discussion with your
children about setting goals. When
students participate in such
discussions, they get ownership of the
goal, making it more valuable.
Determine how you will know if the
learner progresses toward the goal and
when they have achieved it. We can
similarly track the positive learning
behavior of the students and improve
according to that. Having a measurable
objective is essential for determining
whether you have achieved it.

Reimagining Educa on through Advanced
Digital Solu ons
The advent of COVID-19 has introduced numerous
challenges for the education sector. Educational
institutions require eļ¬ƒcient service providers who
can simplify academic procedures while oļ¬€ering excellent
solutions. This is where the leading ed-tech companies step
in. They provide cutting-edge facilities and advanced
solutions which enhance the teaching-learning process.
The leading ed-tech companies deliver personalized
learning methods tailored as per the audienceā€™s
requirements. They help students to carry out their learning
process at their own pace. These companies are focused on
the objective of enhancing and simplifying educational
procedures.
Driven by a similar motive, Syntagma Digital focuses on
changing the world of education and improving the
diļ¬ƒculties that some students ļ¬nd in acquiring knowledge.
The companyā€™s journey started with a simple conversation
during the lockdown between a Spanish language teacher,
Rachel and Jordi Bretos, the founder. This interaction
forever changed how Spanish was taught at Spain and Latin
America schools.
Maths, Science, English, hundreds of software were created
to help teachers and students at school. However, the main
question that emerged was ā€“ How to assist the Spanish
language teachers? They did not have a digital solution and
had to use paper, with no possibility to digitize assessment
during the lockdown.
To help them, Jordi, who had led digital educative products
at the most prominent publishers for the past ten years,
developed a new software solution with Patricio, engineer
and CTO, and Carlos, advisor, and PhD. in
Psychopedagogy. Eventually, after numerous interviews
with teachers and following lean start-up methodologies,
Syntagma Digital was created.
In just a couple of months, the Spanish Ministry of
Education recommended this cloud Saas platform. They
became Amazonā€™s and Googleā€™s oļ¬ƒcial partners, were
selected to represent the EdTech sector at Mobile World
Congress and achieved more than 5K users. The reason for
their massive success was that the company provided a
solution to the real needs at schools.
Refurbishing Teachingā€“Learning Procedures
Syntagma Digital reimagines education by overcoming
teaching barriers. It eliminates various physical and
economic barriers and delivers products that democratize
education while providing free use.
The management at Syntagma Digital believes that learning
should be simple. For that reason, its products are online
and easily integrated into external educational platforms,
without installation or registration.
The company embraces modern technology and has
complete faith in the teachers. Keeping this in perspective,
it develops easy-to-use and visually engaging multiplatform
software which can solve the teacherā€™s needs while
focussing on assessment.
Enabling Instructors to Impart Quality Education
Syntagma Digital provides the ļ¬rst digital platform to teach
Spanish Language syntax, which can be used to teach for
the six years of secondary school.

Taking Education to the Next level
Teachers can easily apply new learning methodologies
using Syntagma Digital. It provides results of exercises at
the platform in real-time at the digital board. This enables
teachers to apply gamiļ¬cation when using it at school. Also,
as the platform structure is not created following a classic
class-teacher-student structure, students can create content
and assess other students by applying cooperative learning.

The company solves their daily problems. For that reason, it
also creates tons of content for the teachers, so that they can
be inspired and can introduce engaging activities for the
students.
The Cultivated Ringleader
Syntagma Digital is led dynamically by its Founder, Jordi

he is focussed on one main goal: make education easier and
turn it into an engaging experience. He believes that no
student should be left behind.

Succeeding throughout the Pandemic
Syntagma Digital was incepted during the 2021 lockdown
to change the way in which Spanish language is taught.
Thanks to its solution, it has successfully assisted teachers
in digitizing content and enhancing assessment with an
easy-to-use and visually appealing platform that engages
students. The company has introduced a new way to teach
using digital solutions.
The Future Awaits
With its eyes on the future, the team at Syntagma Digital
intends to continue reimagining education while developing
software solutions to fulļ¬ll teachersā€™ daily needs. It aims to
oļ¬€er software to all teachers and students worldwide to
democratize education.
The company emphasizes oļ¬€ering solutions not only for
Spanish language, but also for all other subjects such as
philosophy, history, Latin, and so on.
While leading digital educative products at the worldā€™s
largest English Publisher Mr. Jordi discovered that
numerous software are created worldwide to teach English.
Hence, he thought, why not create a unique experience to
learn Spanish language also - the second most-speaking
language of the world?
Experienced in start-ups and multinational companies, Mr.
Jordi led digital educative products for ten years before
establishing Syntagma Digital. His products have been
translated into 15 diļ¬€erent languages and downloaded in 70
countries. He has also participated in talks, lectures, and
keynotes at Bett London, Simo Madrid, and Yomo
Barcelona, some of the most renowned education shows.
Winning Many Laurels
Syntagma Digital has always remained focused on
providing excellent educational facilities to the leaners.
Owing to its dedicated endeavours, the company has
achieved tremendous recognition. It has been shortlisted for
the pitch contest at Mobile World Congress, representing
EdTech companies.
The company was recommended by the Spain Ministry
of Education and was accelerated by
Amazonā€™s EdTech special

The COVID-19 pandemic was announced in the initial stages of 2020. Since
then, weā€™re observing signiļ¬cant changes in our lifestyles on a daily basis.
Almost every industry is encouraging work from home. Moreover, a major
change in the education industry was seen as the learning paradigm shifted from
classroom learning to digital learning. But now, it seems like oļ¬„ine learning will be
back in fashion.
The education sector was severely aļ¬€ected by the online modes of learning. It was
particularly diļ¬ƒcult for teachers and students as they had to shift from the traditional
www.theknowledgereview.com

way to a newer, digital learning
method. It was tricky to get used to the
online approach, but everyone got used
to it and was comfortable with time.
For a while, it became the new norm in
the education industry.
As the pandemic is under control,
many institutions are planning to start
oļ¬„ine classes again. Here are some
strategies to implement in order to
smoothen the transition from online to
oļ¬„ine.
Socio-Emotional Support
According to a scientiļ¬c brief released
by the World Health Organization
(WHO), the global prevalence of
anxiety and sadness soared by a
staggering 25% in the ļ¬rst year of the
COVID-19 pandemic.
During the coronavirus pandemic,
most students have become socially
awkward and isolated. Because they
spent two years studying from home
and being in their comfort zone, they
are not thrilled about going back to
school.
Sitting in a packed classroom and
being in physical contact with fellow
students could be overwhelming for
some. Therefore, socio-emotional
support should be provided to all
students.
Proper counseling for mental health
support is essential during such
uncertain times. It is also necessary for
parents and students to be on the same
page about their childā€™s mental health.
Students should feel protected in
school environments, especially after
adapting to drastic changes in their
lifestyle during the lockdowns. Many
students could develop fear and
anxiety depending on their
experiences, leading to poor academic
performance and delicate mental
health.
Restoring Routines and Group
Activities
Now that oļ¬„ine learning could be back
in the educational sector restoring the
old routines is very crucial for
enhancing their learning experiences.
Physical education should be given to
students like in the olden days.
Students need to stay active and have
fun outside the classroom. Activities
like games and sports are amusing and
give students a break from classrooms
and textbook studies.
Apart from physical activity, it is vital
to restore studentsā€™ verbal skills. In the
past two years, students have hardly
communicated verbally for studies. All
the assignments and projects were
typed and submitted in digital
classrooms.
Schools need to work on studentsā€™
reading and writing skills. Also, it
would be an additional beneļ¬t if group
activities were introduced to help
students socialize again.
Considering all the factors, students
and teachers should be given enough
time to adjust again to the traditional
means of teaching. It was already a
hassle to get used to the online
structure, so switching back will be
tricky.
Encouraging Blended Learning
Initially
Going to school every day and learning
like everyone did pre-pandemic is not
as easy as it sounds anymore. Every
person has their own speed of learning
and transitioning. Therefore,
introducing blended studies during the
initial stages could be helpful.
Blended learning, sometimes referred
to as hybrid learning, mixes online
instructional materials and chances for
online participation with traditional
classroom approaches as blended
courses bring more ļ¬‚exibility in terms
of class location, time, and speed.
COVID-19 Prevention and Control
Protocols
The most important thing for schools
and universities is to ensure they have
a COVID-19 strategic preparedness
plan. The pandemic is under control,
but it can surprise us once again. As
weā€™ve seen multiple variants of
COVID-19 spreading across the globe,
newer variants might likely spread
again.
If there are hundreds of students in one
building and one of them gets infected,
it could put the school or university in
a critical situation.
According to the World Health
Organization (WHO), infection
prevention and control (IPC) is a
scientiļ¬c strategy and practical
solution for preventing infection-
related harm to patients and health care
personnel.
WHO discusses approaches that can
help limit exposure to the disease and
lower the likelihood of transmission
among pupils, students, instructors,
and non-teaching staļ¬€ at school in the
context of schools and learning.
EndNote
Switching from traditional oļ¬„ine
learning to online learning was
inconvenient for everyone, including
students and teachers. Now that they
must transition from online to oļ¬„ine, it
will create a nuisance.
To make sure they get back to oļ¬„ine
learning and teaching, giving the
proper support is the need of the hour.
The strategies mentioned above will
smoothen the transition process, giving
them ample time to get back to
traditional back-to-school learning.
Enabling Successful University
Industry Collaboration and Engagement
The leading EdTech companies
of today are transforming how
education is perceived and
approached. They are introducing
numerous ways to connect teachers
and students while providing multiple
ways to enhance the teaching-learning
process. These companies always focus
on delivering the best while upholding
learning, interactivity, and cooperation.
A renowned name in the EdTech
industry that is making massive waves
with its dedication and concerted
eļ¬€orts is TELANTO. It is an EdTech
SAAS startup that enables and hosts
university-industry collaborations. The
company was founded in 2015 by Dr.
Christian Acosta-Flamma and his
wife Yamila. The idea for TELANTO
emerged to address the gap between
academia and industry. By bringing
real-life business challenges into the
university classroom, Dr. Acosta-
Flamma saw the potential to
revolutionize talent recruitment and
innovation practices. TELANTO
developed its custom platform to
connect companies and students across
the world and enable them to
collaborate virtually. The company is
structured on two pillars: the network -
which brings together universities and
companies of all proļ¬les from all
around the world, and the platform,
which hosts the collaborations.
Mission, Vision, and Core Values
TELANTOā€™s mission is to serve
learners around the world and improve
their educational and professional
opportunities by enabling them to
solve real-world business challenges.
The company is driven by the vision of
creating a worldwide connected
ecosystem of universities and
companies engaging in collaborations
for mutual beneļ¬t. It envisions a world
where talent and innovation ļ¬‚ow
seamlessly between academia and
industry. The values on which
TELANTO was built are curiosity,
passion, and innovation. As a company
and a team, it practices agility, trust,
resourcefulness and provides excellent
service.
Assisting Teachers to Impart Quality
Education
TELANTO enables educators to
integrate experiential learning into
their curriculum. The companyā€™s
platform and collaboration process
help professors to source best-ļ¬t
challenges for their course, as well as
oversee their studentsā€™ work. Solving
business challenges enables students to
apply the knowledge gained during
their course in a real-world context. By
working in teams, students develop
soft and transferable skills valuable in
their future workplace. Exposure to
and collaboration with business leaders

and the ability to learn directly from
experts in their ļ¬eld. Through
challenge-based collaboration, students
are also given the opportunity to
exercise their creativity and out-of-the-
box thinking in coming up with
innovative ideas that have the potential
to make a real impact on an
organization.
Enhancing Teaching Practices and
Collaboration
The TELANTO platform and
collaboration process have been
structured uniquely to ensure the best
possible collaboration experience for
all parties involved. Industry partners
have to formulate a Call for Solutions,
explaining their business challenge and
what they expect the students to
deliver. On the other hand, the
professor writes a Call for Challenges,
which is more than a course syllabus.
In this syllabus, they indicate what
types of tasks their students are
equipped to address. Both parties are
invited to a meeting before conļ¬rming
their collaboration. Then, students,
challenge sponsors, and professors join
a unique virtual collaboration space on
the TELANTO platform. Students have
access to all the information about the
challenge, as well as several helpful
project management features. The
professor can set milestones that
facilitate structuring and monitoring

the collaboration. The challenge
sponsor can also view the studentsā€™
progress and engage with them via a
discussion board. Finally, the professor
and company representative give
students feedback on their solution and
performance at the end of the
collaboration.
Maintaining Strong Relations
TELANTO oļ¬€ers not only experiential
learning technology but also a
community. It develops and maintains
close relationships with clients who
beneļ¬t from expert guidance in
developing best-ļ¬t challenges for
student collaborations. The companyā€™s
network spans the globe, enabling
collaborations among parties across
borders. TELANTO follows an end-to-
end process for university-industry
collaborations that encourages close
engagement between the company
representative and educators. The
collaboration is hosted on its custom-
built platform, reļ¬‚ecting this process.
At the end of the collaboration,
students receive feedback from their
professors, the company
representative, and a digital certiļ¬cate
for use in professional pursuits.
The Leading Light
Dr. Christian Acosta-Flamma
founded TELANTO based on his own
industry experience. As an executive at
SAP, he saw the tremendous potential
for creating shared value among
students, companies, and universities
through challenge-based collaboration.
Over the past six years, he has
leveraged his knowledge and
experience at the intersection of
business and technology to build
TELANTO - as a company, as a
platform, and as a network. Dr. Acosta
Flamma has not only acted as the CEO
of TELANTO, but also built the
network of clients and delivered a
coaching service to industry clients.
Thanks to this personal oversight and
involvement in all areas of
TELANTOā€™s activity, Dr. Acosta-
Flamma stands behind the continuous
ideation and development of the
startupā€™s oļ¬€ering.

to managing the studentsā€™ work, takes
place online. Students no longer have
to suļ¬€er the implications of not being
mobile - through TELANTO, they get
the opportunity to gain exposure to and
experience with business leaders and
challenges from all around the world.
TELANTO is continuously upgrading
its platform to improve user experience
and ease of navigating the technology,
as well as to increase student
engagement amidst technology fatigue.
The company is also developing online
content such as masterclasses to share
knowledge and create a sense of
community.
Prepared for the Future
TELANTO aims to be the worldwide
leader in experiential learning,
enabling learners all around the world
to collaborate on real-world business
challenges. To this end, the
management is gradually evolving the
company and the business model to
operate at greater scale, and host
Achieving Success Dynamically
Owing to its dedicated endeavours,
TELANTO has achieved many laurels.
In 2021, it has been recognized with
the EdTech Digestā€™s Cool Tool Award
for the Best Hiring or Internships
Solution. The EdTech Awards
recognize the most remarkable players
disrupting and creating value in the
educational technology space.
TELANTO has been featured in many
articles, and the management has been
invited to speak at events, including
the Mobile World Congress.
Upgrading Constantly with
Changing Times
The companyā€™s management states that
during these challenging times of the
pandemic, the need for and value of
TELANTO as a platform that enables
experiential learning virtually, has
become more evident than ever before.
The entire collaboration process, from
connecting companies and universities,
increasingly larger volumes of
collaborations. TELANTO will also
serve clients more ļ¬‚exibly,
accommodating diļ¬€erent types,
modalities, and lengths of university-
industry collaborations. It plans to
move towards more digitization and
automation of processes and
functionalities as a company and SaaS
provider. However, at the same time, it
wants to preserve and nurture the
human element behind the success of
what it does. TELANTO aspires to
embed university-industry
collaboration into as many universities
and companies as possible to truly
revolutionize experiential learning,
innovation, and talent recruitment. To
accomplish the same, it will
increasingly focus on community and
ecosystem building, bringing together
all players committed to improving
education.

When formal education came into the picture for children, parents were aware about the importance of learning in their childā€™s life. This led the foundation of schools and reputed universities worldwide. While some countries then still followed their self-developed methods of educating their younger generation, the European inļ¬‚uence deļ¬ned a proper education structure, giving formal education a framework in the form of schools, universities, and institutions. Walking ahead in the times of the Industrial Revolution, schools, colleges, and universities became a necessity for everyone. Industries started to rely more on these educational institutions that equipped the students with a complete understanding of the subject. Little did everyone know that the educational institutions now had a purpose to EDTECH DEFINING MODERN WAYS OF LEARNING
  • 5. education: to ļ¬nd employment opportunities for the upcoming generation. Though this education model clearly had some loopholes, but the needs of the human race recovering from the two World Wars were not just limited to education but survival, progress, and lifestyle. Moving towards the end of the 20th century, the world realized that educational institutions like schools, colleges, and universities were not enough. Addressing this unique need in the educational space, entrepreneurs endured into creating a society that specialized students in training them for jobs that they were suitable for. Diļ¬€erent coaching centers, private tutors, and even educational societies were set up to meet various industriesā€™ expectations across the world. st Entering the 21 century, the internet set up its own educational institution. Still being in the growing stages then, the internet served as a medium of information. Soon, the ever-increasing demands and the awaking of the population to be more personalized created a gap between the various industries and people. While industries focused on closing this gap, they grew exceptionally well, redeļ¬ning and restructuring everything we see today. However, in the eļ¬€orts of closing one gap, the gap between educational institutions and the industry increased. With the internet being at the core of everything in this modern world, new-age entrepreneurs decided to provide the students with necessary tools that educational institutions failed to deliver. Entrepreneurs mixed education and modern technology to create something that would help the world close the gap. EdTech companies became more vibrant when learners demanded special attention to the unique ļ¬elds of their interests. EdTech companies made a name for themselves in the changing business paradigm of this modern world. However, the required boost came in when the world was forced to stay in their houses during the COVID-19 pandemic. EdTech took up the responsibility to keep the learning process going even during such uncertain times. In this edition of The Knowledge Review, we set out on an endeavour to ļ¬nd ā€˜The 5 Best Education and EdTech Companies in Spain, 2022,ā€™ that are deļ¬ning the modern ways of learning and education across the globe. Ironhackā€™s higher purpose is to transform the education space by making it customer-centric and outcomes-driven ā€œ ā€œ IRONHACK SCHOOL The New Education Landscape after COVID-19 Gonzalo Manrique CEO and Co-founder of Ironhack Technology is the gift that just keeps on giving. Though educational institutions have been inculcating technology into their pedagogy for some time now, most of the schools and universities have now realised the signiļ¬cance of digital transformation in the education world amid the COVID-19 pandemic. With the increased use of online classes and video conferencing solutions, it is time to implement and build technology that will appropriately transform the way learning is oļ¬€ered to students. The role of technology has become much more predominant, and its impact will be felt much more comprehensively in the ļ¬eld of education. But education is far from being the only ļ¬eld which has felt the full might of the tech revolution. From entertainment to work, from healthcare to shopping, every aspect that aļ¬€ects modern life has come online. • 12. entertainment to work, from healthcare to shopping, every aspect that aļ¬€ects modern life has come online. Our lives are ruled by technology in many sorts of ways. So, it would be appropriate to state that individuals who have a better, more in- depth understanding of technology can, not only have more employment and career avenues available to them, but also can play a major role in the way we progress as a society. Who knows, the future might demand each and every individual to have a detailed comprehension of some or the other subsidiary of technology. To advance into the future with a conļ¬dent and competent outlook, we need institutions that can leverage the tech to teach the tech to aspiring individuals. Individuals who, after receiving the right guidance and tuition can harness the full might of this ubiquitous force and use it for the betterment of our civilization. And to train these individuals, we need institutions that build a trainable mindset and inculcate the right kind of skills, competencies, and knowledge to turn them into tech wizards. In this context, schools like Ironhack School really manage to help people who need to get a job and wish to start a career in tech. Ironhack is an international school with campuses in Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Lisbon, Madrid, Mexico City, Miami, Paris, and Sao Paulo that was founded to disrupt the way we learn about technology. The school is located at the heart of the main capitals in coworking spaces. It also has a ā€˜remote programā€™ in Europe and the US. The programs are taught in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French. Through its unique disruptive approach Ironhack was the first school in Spain to offer bootcamps in technology. The Lockdowns and the EdTech Push ā€œThe lockdown was a tough time. But the Ironhack team, having a strong grasp on technology already, had a fast and easy transition into the new educational landscape introduced by the COVID-19 pandemic,ā€ remarked the astute CEO, Gonzalo Manrique. ā€œWe have been teaching our programs remotely, allowing people from diļ¬€erent parts of the country to study from the comfort of their homes,ā€ he added. Now that the situation in Spain is improving, with more people getting vaccinated, the Madrid campus is open and people can take advantage and use the Barcelona facilities to study and work from there. Ironhackā€™s curriculum remains the same, it is taught in person or online. But, of course, the company uses collaborative tools and Zoom for online classes. It has improved its ā€˜Career Weekā€™, in order to make sure its students are ready to work remotely. The Future Awaitsā€¦ The future is already here and Ironhack is not about to slow down anytime soon. Ironhack Schoolā€™s goal is to make education and work in tech accessible for everyone. ā€œWe keep working on increasing access to our bootcamps, thanks to disruptive payment methods such as Deferred Tuition, Income Share Agreements and scholarships. We have a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion, and we want to break down barriers thanks to our Remote programs. Also, we want to help companies to reskill and upskill their employees, so we have recently launched the Ironhack Enterprise department to keep working closely with companies,ā€ concluded the indomitable Gonzalo Manrique. www.theknowledgereview.com 14 | Jan 2022

With schools, colleges, and other educational institutions undergoing signiļ¬cant structural changes, students may feel lost, confused, or frightened about their future. The transformation of technology in the education sector has helped a lot during the pandemic to connect students with tutors. Food for Thoughts
  • 20. ā€¢ More engagement: Some parents lack communication with their children because of their heavy working lifestyle. Even amid a coronavirus outbreak, it is one of the most eļ¬€ective strategies to encourage kids to improve their grades. This will only happen if we maintain open lines of communication with students and give them assistance when they require it. Kids are so energetic and ļ¬lled with curiosity, and the most important thing is that they do not know how to manage their time. The engagement of parents makes it easier to schedule study time and fun time. Relation between the parent and child becomes stronger with strong communication. Parents are idol people for the kids from birth, and they learn more from the parents than the other tutors. ā€¢ Have communication with tutors: Communication between parents and teachers should be ongoing and have clear communication channels from the outset. Keeping parents active on a regular basis fosters a sense of community that helps both the child and the school. Because one of the strongest indicators of student outcome is parental expectations, clear and high expectations should be set from the start. Parents can become more engaged and involved in virtual class and online school activities if communication is good. Firm parent-teacher contact improves childrenā€™s academic performance and fosters a sense of community. ā€¢ The reward for achieving goals: Remember that there are numerous prizes available, such as praise, additional time in bed, or a trip to the playground. Keep your rewards simple and focused on something you can oļ¬€er again and again. Use incentives to persuade students to do something they might not otherwise do. Initially, give frequent and minor prizes, and then progressively increase the time between awards as pupils begin to see the inherent beneļ¬ts of their conduct. Kids are aware of the exact conduct that is being rewarded. Give rewards for eļ¬€orts rather than results. Give surprise rewards every now and then to boost their morale. Make the rewards timing and type unexpected. People are more likely to persist in the conduct that leads to the reward if they know a reward is available but do not know when they will get it. Working with older pupils on a plan outlining what eļ¬€ort and outcomes will result in incentives is a good idea. Conclusion Being motivated during the pandemic is a challenging task for everyone. Pandemic made every industry come on the knee and start doing activities from home environment. People appreciated it at the start, but it has become a nightmare for every single person at some point. Students have taken it very diļ¬€erently because staying at home is the last thing they do at this age. Motivation is needed at every stage of life, and it becomes important when you are stuck in a situation like the COVID-19 pandemic. - Rahul Manoj Thakar Faculties across the world took uponworld have not only taken the diļ¬ƒcult task of transitioning and adapting to online modes of instruction but also Multitasking by learning new technology, advising, having online oļ¬ƒce hours, attending meetings, and responding to students who requested Zoom meetings became the new norm irrespective of the working timeworking hours, and much more. Everyone joined together with one common goal in mind: the beneļ¬t of the pupils. As we look ahead, we must make decisions with a long-term perspective in mind. Faculty must walk a ļ¬ne line between keeping students motivated and maintaining their own morale. Student motivation will be a major diļ¬ƒculty regardless of which learning paradigm is used: online, blended, hybrid, or a variety of other possibilities. Below are a few things that can be done to keep students studying during the pandemic. ā€¢ Progress monitoring: Setting goals and keeping track of progress are essential motivators because they aļ¬€ect both the likelihood of success and the importance of the activity. Have a discussion with your children about setting goals. When students participate in such discussions, they get ownership of the goal, making it more valuable. Determine how you will know if the learner progresses toward the goal and when they have achieved it. We can similarly track the positive learning behavior of the students and improve according to that. Having a measurable objective is essential for determining whether you have achieved it. www.theknowledgereview.com 20 | Jan 2022

  • 22. Reimagining Educa on through Advanced Digital Solu ons The advent of COVID-19 has introduced numerous challenges for the education sector. Educational institutions require eļ¬ƒcient service providers who can simplify academic procedures while oļ¬€ering excellent solutions. This is where the leading ed-tech companies step in. They provide cutting-edge facilities and advanced solutions which enhance the teaching-learning process. The leading ed-tech companies deliver personalized learning methods tailored as per the audienceā€™s requirements. They help students to carry out their learning process at their own pace. These companies are focused on the objective of enhancing and simplifying educational procedures. Driven by a similar motive, Syntagma Digital focuses on changing the world of education and improving the diļ¬ƒculties that some students ļ¬nd in acquiring knowledge. The companyā€™s journey started with a simple conversation during the lockdown between a Spanish language teacher, Rachel and Jordi Bretos, the founder. This interaction forever changed how Spanish was taught at Spain and Latin America schools. Maths, Science, English, hundreds of software were created to help teachers and students at school. However, the main question that emerged was ā€“ How to assist the Spanish language teachers? They did not have a digital solution and had to use paper, with no possibility to digitize assessment during the lockdown. To help them, Jordi, who had led digital educative products at the most prominent publishers for the past ten years, developed a new software solution with Patricio, engineer and CTO, and Carlos, advisor, and PhD. in Psychopedagogy. Eventually, after numerous interviews with teachers and following lean start-up methodologies, Syntagma Digital was created. In just a couple of months, the Spanish Ministry of Education recommended this cloud Saas platform. They became Amazonā€™s and Googleā€™s oļ¬ƒcial partners, were selected to represent the EdTech sector at Mobile World Congress and achieved more than 5K users. The reason for their massive success was that the company provided a solution to the real needs at schools. Refurbishing Teachingā€“Learning Procedures Syntagma Digital reimagines education by overcoming teaching barriers. It eliminates various physical and economic barriers and delivers products that democratize education while providing free use. The management at Syntagma Digital believes that learning should be simple. For that reason, its products are online and easily integrated into external educational platforms, without installation or registration. The company embraces modern technology and has complete faith in the teachers. Keeping this in perspective, it develops easy-to-use and visually engaging multiplatform software which can solve the teacherā€™s needs while focussing on assessment. Enabling Instructors to Impart Quality Education Syntagma Digital provides the ļ¬rst digital platform to teach Spanish Language syntax, which can be used to teach for the six years of secondary school. 10 Best Educa on and EdTech Companies in Spain, 2022 www.theknowledgereview.com 22 | Jan 2022

Specialized in Enhancing Education Explaining about its operations, the team at Syntagma Digital states, ā€œOur platform is created by teachers, for We overcome teaching barriers by building easy-to-use digital solu ons ,, , , teachers.ā€ The relation with its users is not merely about the company-customer; it is a relationship between teachers. The company solves their daily problems. For that reason, it also creates tons of content for the teachers, so that they can be inspired and can introduce engaging activities for the students. • 25. Succeeding throughout the Pandemic Syntagma Digital was incepted during the 2021 lockdown to change the way in which Spanish language is taught. Thanks to its solution, it has successfully assisted teachers in digitizing content and enhancing assessment with an easy-to-use and visually appealing platform that engages students. The company has introduced a new way to teach using digital solutions. The Future Awaits With its eyes on the future, the team at Syntagma Digital intends to continue reimagining education while developing software solutions to fulļ¬ll teachersā€™ daily needs. It aims to oļ¬€er software to all teachers and students worldwide to democratize education. The company emphasizes oļ¬€ering solutions not only for Spanish language, but also for all other subjects such as philosophy, history, Latin, and so on. While leading digital educative products at the worldā€™s largest English Publisher Mr. Jordi discovered that numerous software are created worldwide to teach English. Hence, he thought, why not create a unique experience to learn Spanish language also - the second most-speaking language of the world? Experienced in start-ups and multinational companies, Mr. Jordi led digital educative products for ten years before establishing Syntagma Digital. His products have been translated into 15 diļ¬€erent languages and downloaded in 70 countries. It is an oļ¬ƒcial Google partner and has been shortlisted as one of the 21 best Spanish SaaS companies in 2021. Socio-Emotional Support According to a scientiļ¬c brief released by the World Health Organization (WHO), the global prevalence of anxiety and sadness soared by a staggering 25% in the ļ¬rst year of the COVID-19 pandemic. During the coronavirus pandemic, most students have become socially awkward and isolated. Because they spent two years studying from home and being in their comfort zone, they are not thrilled about going back to school. Sitting in a packed classroom and being in physical contact with fellow students could be overwhelming for some. Therefore, socio-emotional support should be provided to all students. Proper counseling for mental health support is essential during such uncertain times. It is also necessary for parents and students to be on the same page about their childā€™s mental health. Students should feel protected in school environments, especially after adapting to drastic changes in their lifestyle during the lockdowns. Many students could develop fear and anxiety depending on their experiences, leading to poor academic performance and delicate mental health. Restoring Routines and Group Activities Now that oļ¬„ine learning could be back in the educational sector restoring the old routines is very crucial for enhancing their learning experiences. Physical education should be given to students like in the olden days. Students need to stay active and have fun outside the classroom. Activities like games and sports are amusing and give students a break from classrooms and textbook studies. Apart from physical activity, it is vital to restore studentsā€™ verbal skills. In the past two years, students have hardly communicated verbally for studies. All the assignments and projects were typed and submitted in digital classrooms. Schools need to work on studentsā€™ reading and writing skills. Also, it would be an additional beneļ¬t if group activities were introduced to help students socialize again. Considering all the factors, students and teachers should be given enough time to adjust again to the traditional means of teaching. It was already a hassle to get used to the online structure, so switching back will be tricky. Encouraging Blended Learning Initially Going to school every day and learning like everyone did pre-pandemic is not as easy as it sounds anymore. Every person has their own speed of learning and transitioning. Therefore, introducing blended studies during the initial stages could be helpful. Blended learning, sometimes referred to as hybrid learning, mixes online instructional materials and chances for online participation with traditional classroom approaches as blended courses bring more ļ¬‚exibility in terms of class location, time, and speed. COVID-19 Prevention and Control Protocols The most important thing for schools and universities is to ensure they have a COVID-19 strategic preparedness plan. The pandemic is under control, but it can surprise us once again. As weā€™ve seen multiple variants of COVID-19 spreading across the globe, newer variants might likely spread again. If there are hundreds of students in one building and one of them gets infected, it could put the school or university in a critical situation. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), infection prevention and control (IPC) is a scientiļ¬c strategy and practical solution for preventing infection- related harm to patients and health care personnel. WHO discusses approaches that can help limit exposure to the disease and lower the likelihood of transmission among pupils, students, instructors, and non-teaching staļ¬€ at school in the context of schools and learning. EndNote Switching from traditional oļ¬„ine learning to online learning was inconvenient for everyone, including students and teachers. Now that they must transition from online to oļ¬„ine, it will create a nuisance. To make sure they get back to oļ¬„ine learning and teaching, giving the proper support is the need of the hour. The strategies mentioned above will smoothen the transition process, giving them ample time to get back to traditional back-to-school learning.

Both parties are invited to a meeting before conļ¬rming their collaboration. Then, students, challenge sponsors, and professors join a unique virtual collaboration space on the TELANTO platform.
