PETROFAC ENGINEERING INDIA PVT LTD. (Mumbai, India) Apr 2009 – Feb 2016
Principal Engineer - Piping (Stress Analysis)
BP Khazzan (Oman)
I led a team of six engineers for analysis of core components like Super-heater, turbo-expander,
reciprocating Gas recovery compressor, flare systems and additional equipment’s like tanks, pressure
vessels, pumps.
2. `
We delivered project milestones ahead of schedule with limited resources.
Rabigh Phase I, Petrochemical project (Saudi Arabia)
I managed a team of four stress engineers which had equipment’s like storage tanks, spheres, vessels,
pumps and flare systems.
It was a fast track job and we succeeded in providing all the deliverables on timely basis despite
several continues changes made by process and layout.
CPF Phase-1 at Badra Oil Field.
The major equipments covered in the project were tanks, columns, pumps, reboilers, and vessels.
I was Lead pipe stress engineer in this project. The main challenge for us was to prepare documents
based on feed documents for the first time in Mumbai office. My activities were:
• Leading a team of twelve stress engineers.
• Coordination with the Petrofac Sharjah head office.
• Preparation of Stress analysis design basis and support standard based on Feed document.
• Preparation of Pipe support schedule.
• Reviewing civil loading data and spring and strut data sheets.
• Preparing technical queries and response sheets on Clients comments.
• Interacting with Civil, process and mechanical disciplines.
Proposals for various jobs :
I worked on proposals for various jobs. The main activities carried out were preliminary stress analysis
for pipe racks and structures loadings. Also, we finalized the routings of critical lines.
ASAB Full Field Development (ADCO)
I managed a team of five stress engineers in brown-field Remote Degassing Stations area.
A large portion of activities in the project belonged to the existing above ground and buried lines that
had to be taken into account during new design.
It was a very fast track project with many unforeseen changes in design due to unknown buried lines.
Our team met the deadlines by meticulous planning via continuous coordination with site and civil
engineers which was the highlight of the project.
FOSTER WHEELER ENERGY LTD (Reading, UK) Sep 2008 – Mar 2009
Senior Piping stress engineer
Woodside Pluto LNG (Australia)
It was LNG Pluto project for Woodside and was joint engineering design by Fosterwheeler &
Worleyparsons.
• I prepared stress critical line list and identified the stress systems on P&IDs that were to be
analyzed. I had to cross check the stress systems analyzed by other stress engineers in Caesar II
software to match the system breakups.
• I also reviewed the stress systems analyzed by other engineers having pipes running on different
pipe rack modules and various areas in the plant. It was a modular design and I was designated to
thoroughly check the breakups of all the stress systems.
JGC CORPORATION (Yokohama, Japan) Jul 2006 – Jul 2008
Piping stress engineer
Pearl GTL project, (Qatar)
3. `
My activities included:
• Performing stress analysis in Heavy Paraffin Synthesis area for big diameter pipes having high
temperature and high pressure and lines connected to reactors, air fin coolers, pumps and
turbines.
• Supporting critical and non-critical lines and preparing the spring data sheets.
• Support markup on isometrics and final stress system documentation.
Ethylene cracker unit (Rabigh, Saudi Arabia)
I did stress analysis of critical equipment’s for three months before I moved to the next project.
PETROFAC ENGINEERING INDIA PVT LTD. (Mumbai, India) Oct 2004 – Jul 2006
Senior Design engineer – Piping (Stress analysis)
Kashagan field experimental project
It was a challenging job as there were several continuous changes in process conditions like line sizes
and line parameters. All the lines were stress analyzed for at least -36 deg. C due to environmental
conditions. It was a fast track job and only two stress engineers in our area worked on it rigorously for
almost two years.
Stress analysis responsibilities included:
• Preparation of stress critical line list, carrying out stress analysis for critical systems like
columns, vessels, pumps, compressors and flare systems.
• Providing piping loading data to civil department.
• Preparation of springs and struts datasheets.
• Co-ordination with head office in Sharjah, sub-contractors and various departments like projects,
process, mechanical and instrumentation.
• Selection Pipe supports, issue of isometrics and documenting stress systems.
Harweel (Oman)
It required fast-tracked stress analysis of centrifugal compressor, air-fin coolers and static equipments.
It was a system that had to be completed in a short time frame and I concluded it ahead of schedule.
TOYO ENGINEERING INDIA LTD (Mumbai, India) Jun 2001 – Sep 2004
Pipe stress engineer
Numaligarh refinery limited (Assam, India)
• I led a team of three stress engineers and our responsibilities included preparation of stress critical line

to which the top nozzles of the coke drum moved by 300 mm horizontally. It was a very critical
system with 25 temperature cases for operating and stand-by conditions along with slug flow.
It was a very fast paced project and we, as a team delivered it successfully on time by working
efficiently and for long hours for almost two years.
I developed some worksheets in MS Excel for faster & error free calculations of displacements of
nozzles of heat exchangers & clip and nozzle displacements of columns with thermal gradients. These
worksheets had been adopted and used by engineers in the company because of their efficiency.
