4. 2. CHARACTER SKETCH OF
SARAJU SAROJ NANDA
He is the head of Bharat Bank of Khandwa
Region in Madhya Pradesh.
He has a Analytical perception.
He knows how to identify an opportunity.
5. 3. CASE ANALYSIS
Mr Saraju Nanda is the head of Bharat bank of Khandwa region where
People are migrating away from the area because of the flood.
As a result the Loan portfolio and deposits are suffering of the branch.
So Mr Nanda after scouting for large business approaches the CEO of a
public sector organization in the area.
6. Everybody said that Mr Agrawal, the bank pro was highly
efficient. Was he effective?
Mr. Agrawal was highly Efficient but not as effective. Because,
He was efficient because he exploited the fact that the “Nepanagar”
railway station was yet to be computerised and was able to secure a berth
in first AC class. Also he provided fruits and magazine to the gentlemen.
He was not as effective because he did everything in his power to impress
Mr. Sanyal but he forget to handover the most important to Mr. Sanyal .
“The Tickets” Due to which the journey of mr. Sanyal became less peaceful.
4. PROBLEM-1
7. Taking this Example, Distinguish between
“Efficiency” and “Effectiveness”.
Efficiency means whatever you produce or perform; it should be done in a
perfect way.
Effectiveness has a broader approach, which means extent to which the
actual results have been achieved to fulfil the desired outcome. i.e doing
things Accurately.
In the Previous case Mr Agrawal the Bank PRO was no doubt highly
efficient but was not so Effective Because he did everything perfectly but
forgot to handover the Train ticket which caused nuisance to Mr. Sanyal who
was not able to have a peaceful train journey.
5. PROBLEM-2
8. What would you like to be as a Manager-
“Efficient” or “Effective”?
As a Manager I would like to be both “Efficient” and “effective”.
Because a Manager should be Efficient in a manner that he is able to do all
the work and manage day today tasks with ease.
And a Manager should also be Effective in his work as it will determine as
how accurately am I able to do the work.
And Efficiency and effectiveness goes hand in hand because those who have
mastered these both technique will become successful as a Manager.
6. PROBLEM-3
9. Efficency and Effectiveness goes hand in hand.
A Manager should always keep in mind that the work done should be
Efficient as well as Effective. And strive to give the best of both worlds.
