LABORATORY
MUSEUM
STUDENT COUNCIL
INTRODUCTION
For better education we need better school environment
For better school environment we need good material
resources like school building, playground, library,
laboratory, museum, furniture etc..
All these resources enhance learning process and ensure
quality of learning environment.
LABORATORY
LABORATORY
A room or building equipped for scientific experiments, research or
teaching or for the manufacture of drugs or chemicals. Nowadays all the
schools are well equipped with labs like physics lab, biology lab, maths lab,
chemistry lab etc.
Importance of laboratory in schools:
 To provide an experimental foundation for the theoretical concepts
introduced in the lectures.
 To create an interest in learning
 To make a strong bond between theory and experience
 For effective teaching and learning
 To familiarise students with experimental apparatus, the scientific
method and methods of data analysis so that they will have some idea
of the inductive process by which the ideas were originated.
 For motivating the students to learn scientific facts, theories etc
 It encourages deeper understanding in children
 When they observe various things and carry out different experiments,
their reasoning skills are honed and they start thinking deeply on those
theories and concepts
 They get a first-hand learning experience by performing various
experiments on their own
“ Effective teaching and learning of science involves seeing, handling,
and manipulating real objects and materials. “
MUSEUM
A building or room in which objects of historical, scientific, artistic or
cultural interest are stored and exhibited.
TYPES OF MUSEUM
1. HISTORICAL MUSUEM
They are the buildings that contain information about the past, historical
events or stories about a place or people.
2. NATURAL MUSEUM
They exhibit facts that focus on the natural environment, archaeology etc
ART MUSEUM
It contain arts, paintings, sculptures etc
MOBILE MUSEUM
They are different vehicles that are made open for
exhibition.
ZOOLOGICAL MUSEUM
A zoo is a museum ; a place where animals are collected
and kept to serve as a means of amusement. It is the only
living museum
IMPORTANCE OF MUSEUM IN SCHOOLS
 School museum combine academic and creative learning
 It encourage deeper learning in students
 It connects students with the community
 It develops critical thinking of the students
 It expand general knowledge of the students
 It takes students through a complete learning cycle.
STUDENT COUNCIL
A student council is a curricular or extracurricular activity for students within elementary and secondary schools
around the world. In other words, a representative body composed chiefly of students chosen by their
classmates to organize social and extracurricular activities in the school/college.
Major FUNCTIONS:
 The student council helps share students’ ideas, interests, and concerns with teachers and school principal.
 They often also help raise funds for school-wide activities, including social events, community projects,
helping people in need and school reform
OBJEVTIVES OF STUDENT COUNCIL
 To initiate, implement, and complete projects and activities which will be helpful to the school,
the students, the faculty, the administration etc
 To provide a living workshop of democratic processes, through such activities as elections,
participation in a constitutional representative assembly, etc.
 To increase student involvement and school pride.
 To develop student potential and encourage to make a well-informed, honest, interested and
active citizenship.
 To improve understanding between and within groups through interaction and communications.
 To provide a viable means for student expression and an increasing amount of self-direction
 In short, it promotes CITIZENSHIP, SCHOLARSHIP,LEADERSHIP,HUMAN
RELATIONS,CULTURAL VALUES
CONCLUSION
For better teaching learning experience we
need to ensure good laboratory and museum in schools
and also the working of a good student council. If a school
lack any material resources it will adversely affect the
learning environment. Hence it all matters.
