2. SCIENCE CLUB?
A science club is an out-of-school-hours club that
offers children the chance to do science-related
activities that extend and enhance the science they
experience in the class room.
It is the organization in which every students is free
to participate to individual and project work.
3. IMPORTANCE OF SCIENCE CLUB
It provides the opportunity for Self-expression,
independent research, constructive activities, etc.
It also allow the students to work on their own ideas,
hobbies, experiments, etc.
There are no restrictions and the students can work
on their own ideas with full freedom.
It help the student to complete their curriculum in a
subtle way.
4. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
To create a scientific awareness.
To provide scientific knowledge in a non-formal way.
To develop critical thinking and reasoning power.
To develop scientific attitude and creativity.
To encourage and to provide skills like manipulative,
communicative, problem solving and so on.
To train students for participation in exhibitions, science fairs
in different stages.
To make students intelligent and active workers.
To make them thoughtful and scientific minded.
To make them keen and observant.

6. ORGANIZATION OF SCIENCE CLUB
The proper organization of the club is must for its
successful functioning.
It should have constitution.
Science club have the following office bearers elected by
the members.
President
Vice-president
Secretary/Joint-secretary/Treasurer
Librarian
Stock-keeper
The science teachers are usually the sponsors of the club.
7. TYPES OF SCIENCE CLUB
Two types of science club;
Special type club: This type of clubs are mainly for
performing some special or specific activities alone.
General type club: This types of clubs are general
activities will take place in an intermixed and
integrated form.
8. ACTIVITIES OF SCIENCE CLUB
Activity should be based upon the students interest and
aptitudes.
Examples of activities are:
Organizing lectures, extension lectures ,symposiaetc.
Paper reading for the club member on various topics of
scientific interest. This will also include project reporting’s.
Activities relating to the survey of community resource.(field
trip)
Organizing science exhibitions and participation in science
fairs.
9. ADVANTAGES OF SCIENCE CLUB
Science club creates a lively and permanent interest
in science.
They encourage group work which is highly
necessary for the advancement of science.
They develop social virtues.
They offer training in leadership and promote self-
expression.
They give the better student an incentive for
specialisation along lines of individual interests.
10. CONCLUSION
Science club should make the student apply the
scientific knowledge acquired in an innovative way.
It place a vital role in the improvement of science
education.
Through the science club the learning of science
becomes joyful and pupils learn things without the
conscious effort on their part and pursue it as a
pleasant hobby.
