4. Biography of Kit Wright
Kit Wright (born 17 June 1944 in Crockham Hill,
United Kingdom) is the author of more than twenty-
five books and the winner of awards including an
Arts Council Writers' Award, the Geoffrey Faber
Memorial Prize etc. Educated at Oxford University.
He is currently a full-time writer. He currently
contributes monthly to The Oldie magazine.

THIS MORNING A CAT

8. Explanation of the stanzas
The Narrator discusses that one morning a cat
got stuck in the tree. His father told him that he
will manage to drive away the cat. Since the tree
was unstable, the Narrator’s mother was full of
doubts. Therefore she warned her husband that
he might fall.
