12. Academic History
In secondary school I took media studies for one
of my three GCSE’s. This subject started my
career goal and helped me to go on to the level
2 creative media course and achieve a
distinction. I am now studying a level 3
Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production
and Technology and ready to move on to the
second year of the course.
13. Current Study
This course has helped to show me that this is the
route I want to go down and work in. I have learned
lots of technical and practical skills to make this goal
achievable and also learned a lot about the industry
as well. Doing this courses projects and materials
has helped me to develop in the areas that I want
to work in and it has also taught me new
techniques. Developing my skills and learning new
techniques showed me that I wanted to develop in
this area even more and is the reason I want to
progress into this industry.
14. The Future
In the future I want to become a camera
operator for film and television. To achieve this I
will need hands on work experience, technical
training and networking/ meeting people in the
industry. University would help me do this as I
can learn technical skills and make industry
standard work. It also gives me an opportunity
to meet new people and get hands on work and
advice at some places.
15. Outside College
Outside of college I do various types of media work
and projects. For example I did some work at a
studio shadowing a camera operator for a stage
event. This gave me a light insight into professional
work and working to a professional standard. I also
did a film and tv course for 8 years at an academy
called PQA. This was my first insight into the area
and it is the main reason I want to do this in the
future. I have a part time job working at a marquee
company that specialises in weddings and party's. I
occasionally do some photography for them at the
sights with my camera and drone.
16. Introduction
If I were to study at university I would like to
study Film and Television production as this
course would allow me to progress into the
different areas of the job and help me get to my
goal in the end.
17. Conclusion
I want to go to university because this woud give
me more qualifications and more experience
before going into the job, therefore I am a more
likely candidate to be able to get the job I aspire
to have.
